Hey Guys. I got stuck with this chapter which is why this took a little while. Hopefully, since I have time and I know exactly what I want to write for the next few chapters, I'll get them out really soon.
Quick Note To Eclare Drama: I will definitely read your stories! I literally go down the list of Degrassi and Vampire Academy stories, and literally just read them all. Right now I am currently reading a Vampire Academy story, but when I finish that, I will definitely check yours out. Thank you for asking. Your review made my day, which is why I wanted to mention it here.
Anyways, I hope you enjoy this chapter. Kind of shorter but still. Hope you guys enjoy! Read and Review!
Clare's POV
"Clare. Honey. I am so happy you are finally coming home." My mom beamed, hugging me tightly while my dad worked on the discharge papers.
"Yeah. Mom." I sighed. "I am too." Frankly I wasn't too happy right now. Dr. Hatzilakos just gave me my first pill about an hour ago. She told me that I have to take a second one that I am supposed to take tomorrow, which will make my period start. Having that on my mind while trying to settle back into my old life, not exactly great.
"Okay." My dad stated, putting the papers down. "All done. I'll go give these to the doctor."
"Thanks, Dad." I said, pulling back from my mom and sitting back against the bed.
"Here. Clare. I'll help you with getting changed." Darcy suggested.
"I can do it myself."I stated, moving to slide off the bed.
"I just figured with your bandages on your head, that you wouldn't want to get some caught." Darcy explained.
"Okay." I sighed again. I really just wanted to be by myself but I couldn't really keep Darcy from helping me. She wouldn't allow it.
I walked into the bathroom, waiting for Darcy to shut the door, before beginning to get changed. I turned away from Darcy, not wanting to see her pity or her judgment. I focused on taking off my robe and gown, while Darcy got the clothes out of the bag.
"Here." Darcy spoke, handing me a pile of clothes. I began dressing quickly, wanting to leave soon. I ended up not even needing help. It felt so good to be in new clothes. Especially jeans. "Ready to go?" She asked, as I turned around.
"Yeah." I exhaled, before picking up the robe and gown. Darcy let me out first, before following after me. I stepped out into the room, seeing my parents talking to Jake with their backs to me. I saw Jake's face but he didn't look too happy.
"She wouldn't do this. She wouldn't." My mom shook her head back and forth.
"Mom?" Darcy called.
"What's going on?" I asked.
"Clare?" My mom turned around. She looked like she was about to cry. "You didn't take it did you?" She asked holding up a pharmacy bag.
"What?" I asked startled.
"Clare. Don't lie to me." She demanded. "Please tell me you aren't getting an abortion."
"Clare!" Darcy gasped from beside me. I knew she and my mom would take this the hardest.
"I—I—" I stuttered. "I had to." I felt tears start streaming down my face.
"Clare. Abortion is wrong!" Darcy argued.
"I couldn't keep the baby. I couldn't." I retorted.
"I can't believe you Clare!" My mom continued. "You should be ashamed."
"I can't keep it!" I cried.
"You can and you will if you want to come home!" She screamed.
"Mom!" Jake snapped. "Let's just have everyone cool down." He walked over to me, after taking the prescription out of my mom's hand. "I'm going to take Clare. Why don't you guys just pack up here and head home." He directed me towards the door. "Come on let's go, Clare."
We walked in silence heading towards the hospital parking lot. We reached the entrance when I saw Adam was on his way in.
"Hey. Clare? What's going on?" He asked stopping in front of me.
"I'm leaving with Jake." I sighed.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"Yeah. Umm, no. I—I just need to get away right now." I stated. I felt like I was going to cry again.
"Okay. I'll call Jake's phone later to check in with you, okay?" Adam asked. I nodded, and continued to follow Jake outside.
It felt good to spot Jake's red truck in the parking lot. It had the logo to his construction company on it, making it unique, but familiar. I climbed in and settled into the seat, waiting for Jake to start it up.
"So any suggestions on where to go?" He asked.
"I don't care. I just don't want to go home right now." I sighed.
"Don't worry. Mom and Darcy will get over it eventually." He stated, as he started to drive out of the parking lot.
"Calm down? Probably. Get over it? Unlikely." I sighed again, leaning back in the seat. "I committed a sin. They can't forgive that. They'll probably have to get our church to give me a designated confessional. Because that's how long it'll take to cure me."
"Come on. They aren't that bad." Jake reasoned. I just looked over at him before shaking my head. "Okay. Maybe they are. But I'm not. Dad's not. They'll calm down when they realize that it's not worth it."
"Maybe." I mumbled.
"Hey." Jake began. "Forget about it for now. Just focus on the fun you are going to have this afternoon."
"Okay." I exhaled, trying to relax. Hopefully this day will get better.
