Awakening

"London Bridge is falling down…" Insania sings to herself as she watches the readers become confused. "...Falling down…falling down...London Bridge is falling down…"

Cp looks between Insania and the readers, and sweat drops. "I own nothing."

Third POV

Insania hummed to herself as she leaned back against the large purple couch that sat in her lair. Aequivalere's Soul sat atop a pedestal not too far away, but at the moment she wasn't concerned with the almost complete Cleansing of her Sister's Soul.

No, she was much more enraptured by the actions of the Mortals' her Sister knew. A large portal was floating in the middle of the room, acting like a TV screen, showing just what they were doing. Insania had a large thing of popcorn in her lap, and a cherry slushy by her side.

Tony's worries had been justified, as things weren't going very well for the Mortals.

While Tony and Rogers tried to fix the smoking engine, Barton and his crew had stormed the flying fortress. Thor and Coulson had sprinted towards Loki, to ensure that he stayed in his cell. Fury and Romanoff had made their way quickly to the Bridge so that Fury could control the situation.

Sadly, it wasn't controlled very well, as Barton was able to upload a virus into SHIELD's mainframe which fried the system and put Jarvis temporarily out of action while he removed it. Romanoff snuck away after Barton after the system crashed, determined to get her partner back.

Thankfully, Fury and Hill had both shown why they were the two in charge of SHIELD as they kept the Bridge from being taken. Insania had even been slightly impressed with how quickly the two were able to take down the mind-controlled men.

With a sigh, Insania flicked her wrist, changing the scene to focus on one of her favorite people. Dr. Bruce Banner. Her humming turned into chuckles and almost instantly her chuckles turned into insane laughter that would rival even the most hysterical lunatic. If anyone had heard her they would've fled, fearing for their lives.

Sadly, no one was around. So they never got the warning.

Bruce's POV

My head throbbed and Hulk made a whimper like noise as I slowly came back to consciousness. I groaned as I realized that it wasn't just my head throbbing, it was my whole body. As my memories returned I was slightly surprised to be alive, as that fall should have been fatal even for Hulk.

"Arg…" I groaned as I opened my eyes, of course I survived the fall; I had survived shooting a bullet into my brains…

My eyes widened and I almost stopped breathing as the rest of my memories crashed into me, and the sight of Penny's bloody, still formed seemed to become burned to my eyelids.

"Oh god…" I muttered as my insides turned to ice. I couldn't believe it...Penny...no, she couldn't be dead. That just wasn't possible, she had even told us that she was dying in a few hours and she had been perfectly fine!

Hulk growled in the back of my mind, half in morning and half in protest. Neither of us wanted our little friend to be dead, and I couldn't even remember what happened to her body so that we could check.

Biting my lip as I opened my eyes, I had to stop myself from cursing.

Hulk sent me a silent apology from the back of my mind, shame evident in his emotions. I reassured him that I wasn't angry with him, and mentally comforted him as I tried to recall why we had changed at all.

I got a confused answer from Hulk, and my own memories of the incident were blurry...one moment we had been struggling with grief, but alright…

And it seemed that the next we were both angry beyond thought.

I had to choke back another curse as I slowly climbed to my feet. I had just lost my best friend, probably ruined the budding friendship I had with her father, and now I was nude, in a field, god knows where.

With a sigh I spotted a barn in the distance and made my way to it, hopefully the owners didn't think I was a high loon. That would be bad.

I seriously stopped to wonder, did Fate really just hate me for some reason?

The barn hadn't been as empty as I had hoped, and the owner had been...displeased, with my sudden appearance.

It had taken a while, but I had managed to convince the older man that no, I wasn't a druggie, and no I wasn't try to steal anything. If it hadn't been for the man's wife, I was pretty sure that I would've been chased out onto the street. I had been given some clothing, and was just about to leave when a small child had run up to me with wide eyes.

"Are ya an alien?!" He exclaimed with wide eyes, causing his grandparents to share a concerned look.

"Um, no." I said, slightly confused before I noticed the knowing glint in the child's eye.

"But you fell from the sky all big and green! You made a really biiiiig hole!" The small boy exclaimed stretching his arms wide to show how large the crater had been.

The elderly couple then started making another huge fuss, and it had taken me even longer to leave, after convincing them that no, they didn't need to call 911... or the army.

After about a half an hour of fussing, I had managed to get away not only with a sandwich but also with the man's old motorcycle. It was a nice ride, and I had almost jumped with glee when I had seen it.

Of course, Hulk had laughed at me for that, but I had just ignored him.

It would take me a bit to get from the Connecticut border (I had been so thankful to realize that I was in the States) to Stark Tower, but it would do.

Besides, it wasn't like I had Stark's phone number, and I sure the hell didn't have a way to contact SHIELD. So Stark Tower was the best bet.

As I sped down the road, I had to wonder…why did I have such a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach?

Third POV

Insania frowned as the one large screen became five smaller screens, on one it showed Tony and Rogers repairing the engine, the second showed Bruce speeding down the roads, the third showed Fury on the 'carrier Bridge, the fourth showed Thor and Coulson rushing into the room where Loki was being kept, Hel following in the shadows, and the fifth showed Romanoff making her way towards Barton.

Eyeing all of them Insania shrugged before turning her attention to the only interesting one, the one involving the Asgardians.

Hel felt slightly bad for ditching Tony so, but Fati's energy had increased around her father, and even though Penny was important to her, her family came first.

Ignoring the thoughts of what her Boss would do to her when he found out; she stayed invisible in the shadows as Coulson and Thor strode towards the chamber that contained her father for the moment.

"Be ready for anything, we don't know what his plan is." Coulson warned Thor and the blonde nodded gravely.

"Worry not," Thor stated strongly as his grip on Mjolnir tightened. "I became accustomed to my brother's antics and tricks long ago."

Hel chuckled, knowing that her uncle still fell for the same tricks he always had. Thankfully, she was used to her father's games, Fati controlling him or not.

Both men took a deep breath before entering the room, Hel bit her lip, not knowing what to expect.

"Well, look what the cat's dragged in. Hello Brother." Loki chuckled darkly with a smirk, and Hel tensed as she noticed a faint trace of purple swirling in her father's blue eyes.

Hel cursed the Immortal, and wished that she could gaze into her father's eyes and see the bright green that they once had been, instead of the icy blue and purple that they currently were.

Before they had time to reply however, the Helicarrier gave a huge lurch, sending everyone, including Hel, toppling to the right. Hel and Thor managed to catch themselves after only a second, and then ignored the slope of the floor. Coulson had a rougher time, and had to grab onto the wall to steady himself.

Thor slid into a crouch as the door to Loki's cell slid open, and Loki apparently walked out.

Hel narrowed her eyes and cast her power out; searching for her real father, knowing that the Loki they could see was only an illusion.

"Why, you don't look very happy to see me." Loki laughed as Thor howled in rage. Hel rolled her eyes as her uncle charged his brother.

Thor simply fell through the projection and Loki's form flickered before vanishing altogether, causing Thor to go sliding into the cell.

"Idiot!" Hel hissed as she slid into view, she looked around, trying to find her father and disregarding Coulson, who was fumbling with something out of view.

Hel spun around to glare at her father, coming into view as Thor snarled as he realized that he had been tricked.

"Come out father," Hel stated, knowing that Mortem would be pissed that she got involved. "Your games are over."

"Oh," Loki chuckled as he faded into view, standing at the control panel. "I would say that game has just begun."

Coulson paled, before flicking on a small black cube on his belt. The game had just changed, so the play must as well.

Insania's attention was drawn away from her screens and popcorn as her sister's Soul flashed a blinding gold. She leapt to her feet, and tilted her head to the side.

"The Cleansings complete." She whispered to herself before giggling. "Does that mean that you're finally free Sister dear?"

Without pausing, Insania took the orb into her hands and with a burst of magic, entered Aequivalere's consciousness.

She just hoped that her Sister's mind was in better shape than her own. Existence just might depend on that.

So, really short, and I would have gotten it up yesterday but my Flashdrive decided to vanish on me...found it obviously...but still.

Hope you enjoyed it, I'll try to update soon!
