#85… Stress reliever when hitting a dummy – a dummy can be alive like Tamaki or the twins, or a real dummy a plastic man/bale of hay.
Oh our poor, poor idiotic trio. If only they thought more before they acted, then they would not currently be in the mess that they currently found themselves in. Let me start from the beginning (don't worry dear reader, I'm not going back to the beginning of the world… just to this very morning).
Kyoya had been up until six in the morning working on club business and pulling together a report that his father had asked for, and if you don't know Yoshio Ootori, when he asks for something, he doesn't want it tomorrow, he wants it today. Needless to say the Shadow King was tired and exhausted, and the last thing he wanted was to deal with anyone, including his friends, on a Saturday morning at 8:00am. However, when friends with Tamaki, the most unexpected things always tended to happen.
This particular problem, uh I mean event, happened right before the Ouran Fair in Kyoya's third year of high school. So much to plan and organize and as usual Tamaki had high demands that continued to exceed the budget… or at least the budget the blond had been given. Planning on his friend's known exuberance and expensive taste, Kyoya created two budgets and only made one of them public. The second budget was for his eyes only and allowed for expected overages. The vice president would not have to stress about the real budget as he had done the prior year. Oh, he had been able to cover it, but isn't it better to not have to face such challenges at all?
As I was telling you…
Exhausted and in desperate need of sleep, the Shadow King crawled into bed at about 6:15am on a Saturday morning, knowing full well there was no school that day and therefore he would be able to sleep in… or so he believed. How wrong he was.
That very morning at exactly 8:00am, Tamaki barged into the room of his sleeping best friend. Actually, it was more apt to say he was thrown in by the twins because no one wanted to willingly walk into the den of a sleeping lion… not even Tamaki. The blond could deal with Kyoya better than most, but he was suddenly having second thoughts about visiting his friend so early in the morning; and the fact he had brought the other hosts including Satoshi and Chika… (You get the picture dear reader, tensions were high… Hunny – who thankfully had just woken up when Tamaki arrived at his house – and Chika, kidnapping Haruhi, and then waking up a sleeping beast… yah, he was stupid dear reader).
Hesitating outside Kyoya's domain, Tamaki used his fingertip to knock and then when he didn't receive an answer, he turned around and chuckled nervously, "Well it looks like he isn't available. Let's try him again later."
"Come on boss!" Hikaru grumbled.
"You didn't even knock!" Kaoru accused.
They grabbed him, opened the door, and threw him to the wolves. The other hosts had decided to stay back (about twenty feet to be exact dear reader) and not interfere. Tamaki wanted to grab everyone for a Host Club breakfast, then he would have to do the work himself.
Spinning around, Tamaki started banging on the now closed door and screaming at Hikaru and Kaoru demanding they open the door. Their laughter could be heard on the other side, and the blond got a sinking feeling that he was doomed and should be planning his funeral. There was no help for it. He was there and that was that. It was time to buck up his courage and drag Kyoya out of bed (maybe he should have brought a bullet proof body suit). Slowly (and I mean an old lady using a cane or walker could beat him in a race) he started to make his way to the staircase that would lead to the loft where Kyoya's bed lay. Climbing the stairs took several minutes, but to Tamaki he had arrived at the heart of danger all too quickly.
A voice… no voices were intruding in Kyoya's blissful sleep. Normally he could sleep through anything, but these voices were loud, annoying, and high pitch. If he had a dog, the Shadow King was sure the animal would be howling. He fought off consciousness as much as he could. He wanted sleep, not visitors. Someone was coming closer. Who would dare enter his domain while he was still sleeping? He could only think of one and the two mocking, muffled voices would egg the one person on. No, he must be having a nightmare.
"Kyoya?" Tamaki quietly called out. No response. A little louder, "Kyoya? Mon Ami?" Still nothing. Not even a twitch. He moved closer and his voice rang a little louder, with a tremor in it, "Mommy? Kyoya? Time to wake up!"
No longer could he ignore the laughter coming from outside his room. No longer could he ignore the voice that was creeping closer to his bedside. No longer could he ignore the other presence in his room. Kyoya sat up, looking as if he were half dead with a black aura surrounding him as he growled, "What the hell do you want Tamaki?"
"EEP! Mommy!" Tamaki squealed and jumped high into the air (it was a good thing he didn't leap to the side dear reader because his jump was high enough to clear the railing and that meant he would have crashed one story below). Falling on his butt, he crawled backwards a couple of paces.
"Speak and then get out!" Kyoya bellowed, his voice sounding almost demonic.
"N-N-N-Now Kyoya…" Tamaki stammered and then screamed when a lamp came flying at him.
"I was up all night working on the fair stuff and then helping my father with something. If you don't want to die then leave."
Tamaki's eyes widened. Were his friend's eyes actually glowing? No, not possible. Shaking his head to clear it, he tried to explain again, "M-M-Mommy, we are all going out to breakfast as a family." He rushed through his reason for being there and could only pray Kyoya understood him.
Narrowing his eyes, Kyoya said only one word, "No." With that, he flopped back down on his bed and tried to slip back into his dream world (dear reader, I wonder what the Shadow King dreams about).
"But mommy!" Now, Tamaki either let his stupidity reign and therefore diminish his fear or his brain stopped functioning, but either way, he was suddenly very brave (then again dear reader, maybe Tamaki has split personality and his other "self" came out).
"I am not now nor have I ever been married to you or bore your children. I am also not now nor ever have been your mother, so will you please stop calling me that?!"
"Kyoya! We are graduating this year and then we will leave all of our friends at Ouran. We will be alone and desolate without any friends when we go off to university. Wouldn't you rather spend what little time we have left with our family?"
"You make it sound as if we're dying and not just going off to college. Hunny-senpai and Mori-senpai graduated last year and they remain in touch and still attend Host Club when they can." Why was he still talking to this moron instead of falling back to sleep? Oh that's right, if he didn't, Tamaki would probably jump on the bed in an effort to wake him up.
"But Kyoya! We won't get to see the family all the time and our daughter… *sob* our daughter will continue to grow up without us," Tamaki cried, his eyes spilling tears (now dear reader, we all know according to Tamaki, the mark of a good host is to be able to cry at will).
A commotion downstairs pulled both of their attention. The twins not hearing any screams of agony decided to see what was going on and entered the room.
Glaring, the Shadow King reached over to his nightstand and pushed a hidden button on the side. In the next instant, his bedroom door slammed shut and locked. With smirk on his face, he announced, "This is now a safe room. No one can come in and no one can exit."
Hikaru and Kaoru grabbed each other and held tight. They realized too late how much danger they were currently in. Turning around, they started to bang on the door and gasp, losing all color when they heard Hunny's voice on the other side, "Hey, since Kyo-Chan is tired and we can't open the door, we're going to go ahead and go to breakfast without you. Bye!" His voice sounded too cheerful to their ears.
Another voice came through the door, this time directed at Kyoya. "Hey Kyoya-senpai, remember number 85. Have fun!" Satoshi laughter became dimmer and dimmer as he got further away from the door. The trio was DOOMED!
Kyoya grabbed his glasses and put them on, hiding his eyes. Smirking, he stated, "Yes, I do believe that is perfect."
Tamaki and the twins had no idea what number 85 meant or what was in store for them. Flying down the stairs, the blond huddled with two redheads as a dark cloud started to grow and move upstairs.
An hour later, three hosts were dressed up as practice dummies and they really couldn't explain how that happened. One theory was that the black cloud swallowed them up and when everything cleared, they were wearing the padded suits. Another theory was Kyoya hypnotized them and forced them to dress in the new attire. A final theory was that they were so afraid they did what they were told without thinking (which do you think dear reader?).
Strung to poles which magically appeared in the middle of Kyoya's sitting area - as well as the couches magically disappearing – they watched in horror as the Shadow King approached them with a shinai in hand and a maniacal expression on his face.
"N-Now Kyoya, let's discuss this calmly," Tamaki attempted to negotiate with his friend.
"Yah senpai. You can just practice on the boss here," Hikaru offered and heard the screech of the blond beside him.
Nodding as best he could in his new uniform, Kaoru agreed, "Yah. You don't need all three of us, right?"
"Do you?" The twins asked simultaneously.
Another smirked and a snort of laughter and Kyoya approached his new practice toys. The first swing hit Tamaki in the side, and once Kyoya started he didn't stop for another two hours. It is probably a good thing he allowed his friends the pleasure of wearing a protective suit. That day he got in a much needed workout, vented his frustrations, was able to hit his friends without hurting them (well at least not too much), and practiced the techniques Mori had been teaching him. All in all a good day… and now it was time for sleep.
With a snap of Kyoya's fingers, the trio were released for their poles and the poles disappeared into anime/manga space… the couches also returned to their former spots. Giving his friends a hard stare, he "suggested" to them, "Now that we are through, why don't you three leave. I have some sleep to catch up on before I complete some work."
Hikaru, Kaoru, and Tamaki didn't waste time. They waddled out of the room as quickly as possible. Although everything else disappeared, their suits remained and it didn't allow for a lot of movement. At one point in time, Tamaki fell and the other two had to roll him out the door by kicking him. It was a while before anyone thought to disrupt the Shadow King's sleep again.
