Aisha didn't know what she was doing. She lied to the nurses that her wound still hadn't healed yet. More importantly, she lied to Rena. The mage guiltily tried to look cheerful as Rena briefed her on the current battle plans.

"I hope you feel better, Aisha." The elf smiled tiredly and left, gently closing the door behind her. Aisha waved and quickly darted out of bed to open the window and let Elsword in. She crossed her arms and bit her lip.

"Why are you still coming?" She hissed as he climbed in.

"More importantly, why are you still letting me?" Elsword smirked. "Even lying to your friends."

"I just want information on the enemy! Once I'm satisfied, I'm going to kick your a—" She stopped, oh how Aisha hated swearing. She still cursed herself for when she let one slip when Elsword first came. "Rear end." Aisha reluctantly said.

"Oh come on. What's so bad about cussing? Ass. Damn. Shit. Fu—" The swordsman began listing off words.

"Don't say it!"

"Fuck." He finished happily.

"Ugh! I can't stand you." She stomped her foot angrily and sat down on her bed.

"Is that why you sat?"

"Get out."

"Oh, now you're no fun!" Elsword pouted childishly.

Aisha was not amused, she gave him her best stare down while keeping her arms folded tightly across her chest. "I don't think you understand the seriousness of this situation. If we get caught, both of us will get executed for treason. So if you're going to aimlessly prance around here whenever you feel like it, then we'll make use of it."

"How so?"

Aisha let a grin find its way to her face. "You're going to be the messenger boy."

Eve sat in her cell, her cheek stinging. The mentioning of Rena had not sat well with Raven. He slapped her and sent her to her cell. She wasn't supposed to have food for a week. Of course, that had been days ago but her cheek still stung. The heavy iron door swung open abruptly and Chung stood there, arms crossed and unamused.

"Could you not have just held your tongue?" He demanded.

Eve tried not to flinch and scoffed. "We've been over this already. He angered me. I don't need to hear your stupid speech everyday."

He sighed and tossed clothes on her bed, they landed perfectly in her lap. "No food tonight. Orginally, we weren't going to even give you clothes. Be glad I managed to sway Raven."

"Yes, I'm sure you used some of that manly charm." Eve rolled her eyes, but was secretly relieved. Despite her condition, she tried to remain as sanitary as possible.

Even though Chung's face wore disapproval, his cerulean eyes showed a glint of amusement. Or at least it looked like it.

"Well? Get out. I need to change." The Nasod crossed her arms.

"Oh no. You're not changing now. Raven wants to see you." He ran a hand through his blonde hair and eyed her warily. "And this time, please don't make him mad. He's unstable right now."

"Well you can tell him that I refuse." Eve said sharply.

"Well—"

"I got this, Chungy-poo. You can join our gracious leader." Elsword placed a hand on Chung's shoulder. The fiery swordsman's crimson eyes flashed mischievously.

"Don't call me that." Chung snapped but retreated back to the throne room. Elsword's stare fell upon Eve. She eyed him warily but said nothing.

"I have a message for you." He handed her a small piece of folded paper.

"From?" Eve took the paper and held it gingerly, as if was armed with explosives. She slowly unfolded it and squinted to read the smeary writing.

Eve! Are you alright? I'm so sorry! I couldn't protect you and...and...no matter! Rena is planning to save you soon so just hang in there, okay? Is Raven hurting you? Are you eating enough? Are you dressing warmly? Please be okay.

Love,

Aisha

Eve re-read it at least six times until Elsword finally cleared his throat. "What did it say?"

She peered up at him. "You didn't read it?"

He shrugged. "Aisha told me not to. But listen to me: Hide the note. Or even better, burn it. Destroy it. You can't let Raven find out about this."

"What if he does?" Eve's golden orbs shakily looked at him.

"Then we're both dead."

Rena swung her sword in a low arc and hit the dummy. She recoiled back but came to an abrupt halt. The blade of her sword was etched deep into the wooden figure. She released the hilt and looked at her hands. They were calloused, blistered, and bloody. Heaving a sigh, she sat down on the ground and rubbed her temples. When was the last time she slept? Ate? Bathe?

She wrinkled her nose. Sweet El, she needs to shower. Hopping up, she went to grab a change of clothes and shower.

Rena quickly stripped off her sweaty clothes and turned on the hot water. She closed her eyes in satisfactory pleasure as she rubbed soap on her arms. Her relaxation was cut short when a piercing scream rang out through the entire palace. She could hear the scuffling of feet as she quickly wrapped a towel around herself and ran towards the screams that were now sobs of horror.

"What happened?" Rena slammed open the door, her damp emerald hair tossing beads of water everywhere. Vanessa, one of Velder's most trusted generals was knelt next to a servant who was sobbing hysterically.

"Captain Rena." Vanessa looked helplessly at the elf. Rena walked over and knelt beside the near hysteria servant. She wrapped an arm around her shoulder and said in her most soothing voice, "What happened?"

"E-Eve...Lady E-Eve..." The servant blubbered.

Rena's calmness was gone. She grabbed the poor girl. "What!? What about Eve?"

The servant whimpered and inched away from her. Rena's features relaxed and the softness returned. "I'm sorry. Please tell me what happened."

"I-I came in to c-clean and I found th-th-that." The servant pointed to a heap of bloodied clothes. "Th-those are Lady E-Eve's..."

Rena stood up and slowly walked toward the clothes. Folded perfectly inside was a dead rat and a piece of paper. Rena bit back a shriek and shakily reached for the paper.

With love.

Rena screamed with rage. Crumpling the paper, she threw it down on the floor. She took the sword adorning the room wall and thrust it into the ground so hard that the blade snapped in half. Everyone else in the room stared in horror and awe.

"Screw the battle plans. We ambush them tomorrow. Ready the troops."

"Yes, ma'am."

Turning on her heel, Rena stormed out of the room.
