Me: I don't own Frozen or ROTG! Sorry for the late update guys! School just got crazy and I found myself downloading my old childhood games for the PSX.

Chapter 12

Jack leaned against the wall as he found Elsa happily playing with her powers. When was the last time he had seen her that happy? It had been years! The guardian of fun chuckled quietly to himself while placing his staff against the wall while Elsa pursed her lips in trying to get something right. She glowered darkly at nothing before shooting out an ice bolt on the floor. Suddenly, a huge tree sprouted from the ground with frozen flowers and leaves blooming on the branches.

"Wow, that's pretty creative," Jack nodded in approval.

Elsa raised an eyebrow. "Thanks. How about you?"

Jack pointed to himself. "Me? What are you talking about?"

"Show me what you got."

The guardian of fun chuckled in amusement; he had never expected his own pupil to become this cocky when she was initially so afraid of her powers. Elsa stared at him with a more confident and mischievous glint in her eyes. Jack smirked while forming snow in his hands.

"You ready?"

Elsa nodded and with a wave of her hand, conjured a horse that reared with a neigh. Jack jumped up into the air before creating an eagle out of thin air, riding on its back. The queen laughed in delight while she played with more of her ice powers, creating more creatures. Jack grinned in delight and exploded little snowflakes into the air.

"See? You just needed a lot of practice, Elsa," Jack grinned.

"Yeah I know right," Elsa beamed with delight.

"Once you mastered this, maybe we can go for something bigger! Like controlling the weather!"

Elsa stared in shock before looking at her hands and shaking her head at Jack. "Wh-what? Controlling the weather? That's insane!"

"Maybe just where the blizzard goes or the intensity of the blizzard," Jack shrugged before sitting on one of the chairs he had made. "I'm not gonna ask you to block out the sun. Heck, even I can't do that!"

Elsa giggled before sitting next to Jack, exhaling in relief. She had expected herself to be roaming around the castle forever alone. After what had happened back in Arendelle, she shivered at the mere memory of returning home. She glanced at her hands with a soft smile before looking out the window that led to the balcony, showing a beautiful sunrise.

"Jack, this is something I never imagined I could do," Elsa looked at the huge ice castle around her. "A castle this big…"

Jack shrugged. "Well, ice has always been linked with some fun. And when you need to have fun in life, you get extremely creative."

"Mm hm," Elsa stared absent-mindedly at the sunrise.

However, she didn't notice Jack looking at her.

The guardian of fun smiled lightly while looking at Elsa finally be at ease with her powers. He had seen her grow up and she had begun to show less emotion. Even the way she walked and strode, it was as if every move had been calculated from the very beginning. Jack chuckled softly while looking at her entire attire. It had changed from the conservative Elsa into something more befitting of what she was. Although, he still couldn't help but wonder: where had her powers come from and why did her eyes turn yellow?

"And what's the deal with the black streaks in her hair and the bulging veins," Jack muttered. "Something doesn't add up."

"Jack, are you alright?"

He looked up to see a concerned Elsa kneeling in front of him. Jack couldn't help but stare in her lavender eyes that looked upon him in concern. He couldn't believe that so much time had already passed and here he was, sitting in front of a 21 year old Elsa. He remembered the times he played with her when they were in the ballroom where they made little snowmen and had their snowball fights. He had taught her how to ice skate as well with Anna. But that was the past; Elsa was still a little kid.

"Yeah, I'm alright," Jack waved his hand dismissively before smiling at Elsa. "Anyway, you wanna see how we can improve the castle?"

Elsa blinked several times but beamed in delight. "That would be fantastic! Oh we could put…!"

Jack chuckled as Elsa began babbling away. As much as she inherited ice powers and became a queen at the age of 21, she was still a teenager at heart. Elsa began looking at the walls before frowning at it. Then, she suddenly beamed in delight while making a new sculpture on the side. The guardian of fun chuckled in amusement while leaning against the wall.

"You've come so far, Elsa," Jack smiled kindly before looking around. "I'm gonna take a tour around the castle, okay?"

"Mm hm, no problem."

Jack then began flying around. He made his way to the entrance of the castle while looking at the huge sculptures. Many of the pillars made of ice had snowflake patterns decorated on it. The ground had a snowflake glowing beneath the glass. He looked at the chandelier hanging above him while looking at the banisters and railings.

"This place looks like the castle back at Arendelle," Jack trailed away.

Indeed it does, Jack!

Jack turned around only to have a black sand smash into him, causing him to tumble back. The black sand swirled around as someone materialized from the shadows. Jack clambered up to his feet and growled when he saw an all too familiar face standing before him.

"Pitch," Jack snarled and revealed his staff. "What are you doing here?"

Pitch chuckled in amusement while calmly sauntering around. "Why? I can't walk around freely? Are you in the middle of something, Jack?"

"No but you definitely shouldn't be here," Jack snarled.

"Why? You're not the king of this castle. You're simply just a knight or perhaps," Pitch smirked at him. "Just the… jester like always."

"ENOUGH," Jack roared and threw an ice bolt at him. "You don't know anything!"

Upon hearing that, Pitch smirked. "Oh, I know more about that little princess than you realize. You yourself have been a little misguided this whole time…"

Jack stared at him, quizzical. "What do you mean?"

"Oh, you'll see…"

With those words, Pitch just vanished.

Jack stared at the huge ice sculpture the ice bolt made. Not wanting to make much of a mess, he immediately flew around and began moulding it. The living room did need a centrepiece, Jack reasoned with himself. He spun his staff around as the ice began to slowly change in form. The ice changed into a vase of flowers and a small table before he placed the flowers near the entrance. The guardian of fun smile while flying through the castle. However, Pitch's words continued to haunt him.

You yourself have been a little misguided the whole time…

"What did he mean by that," Jack pondered and landed on the ground, looking out the window.

However, he didn't have time to think about it as he saw a familiar face appear at the doorstep. Jack gawked in astonishment before scrambling himself and headed back towards Elsa. For the person he saw downstairs, was none other than Elsa's sister – Anna.

"Damn it, I gotta warn Elsa. I gotta warn Elsa," Jack scampered through the halls before suddenly stopping. "Wait, why should I warn her? They're sisters!"

"Jack, what's wrong?"

Jack swivelled his head up and saw Elsa standing in front of him with fear written all over her face. He bit his lower lip while casting a side glance towards to the window where he had seen Anna accompanied by two others heading for the castle. Would she panic if he told her? The guardian of fun exhaled sharply while telling Elsa.

"Elsa, Anna is making her way towards the castle," Jack began.

Elsa immediately paled. "Wh-what? No! She can't come in here!"

"Wait, Elsa...!"

"No," Elsa paced around frantically, freaking out. "She's going to get hurt! I'm just trying to...!"

"ELSA," Jack grabbed her shoulders. "Calm down!"

Elsa stopped as the guardian of fun gently let go off her. "J-Jack, what do I do...?"

Jack pursed his lips and exhaled sharply. He knew he couldn't keep Anna out; over the years, Anna still had retained the nerve to talk back to Elsa and yell at the elder. The guardian of fun pondered deeply while looking out the window, seeing Anna walking with a snowman, a man and a reindeer...?

"Maybe I can try talking to her," Jack offered to the panic-stricken queen. "Maybe I can explain something to her..."

Elsa shook her head. "Jack, she can't even see you!"

"I'll make her see me," Jack decided boldly and quickly picked up his staff. "You stay here!"

Elsa nodded fearfully as Jack prepared to take a running jump. However, something inside her started bugging her as she suddenly threw her arms around Jack. The guardian of fun nearly stumbled forward as he could feel Elsa's warm tears falling on his cold skin.

"P-please, be careful," Elsa hiccupped. "I don't expect you to succeed but please... just be careful. You're all I have left..."

Jack smiled and nodded. He turned around and gently brushed Elsa's pale blonde hair to console her. Elsa began to sob quietly until she felt her chin being moved up. When her chin was brought up, Jack's and Elsa's eyes met as the guardian smiled in reassurance. Elsa shivered as Jack slowly closed in and gently pressed his lips against her forehead.

"Don't worry. I'll be sure to return to you as fast as I can," he smirked while brushing away a small tear, freezing it into a small rose. "My snow queen."

Elsa stared in shock as she held the rose in hand and Jack launched himself out of the window. Elsa held the rose in hand and gently caressed it with a small smile. However, the moment she touched it – the rose suddenly turned black and exploded in her face. Elsa fell back as the ice turned into little dust while it began to swirl around to reveal a dark figure.

"W-who are you," Elsa gasped in fear, crawling away.

The sand slowly began to take on a more solid form, revealing a black haired male. He stood with a dark navy blue sweater and gleaming gold eyes. His skin wasn't white but a greyish colour and his black pants were ripped and torn. The staff slowly materialized into his hand as he stepped forward.

"Hello Elsa," he bowed with a roguish smirk. "I believe you know this face very well..."

"J-Jack," Elsa swallowed hard while putting out her hands, narrowing her eyes. "Stay away! I can hurt you!"

The dark Jack smirked before bowing mockingly. "Oh, I know you can. Right, how rude of me. The name is Black Frost."

"B-Black Frost," Elsa raised an eyebrow. "B-but where did you come from?"

Black Frost shrugged. "Oh I don't know. I could come from anywhere..."

He suddenly disappeared before reappearing right behind Elsa. "I could be another problem for you. Or perhaps, I can be an ally..."

Elsa gasped and fired ice bolts. "Get away from me!"

Black Frost spun around and bowed mockingly, smirking. "As you wish, my queen."

Suddenly, he vanished and became little shards of ice and snow. Elsa panted heavily while stepping back against the icy wall. She could understand who that was but now she found herself completely cornered. Elsa looked at the black snow and ice before falling to the ground, shuddering in fear and breaking down into an uncontrollable sob.
