Me: Sorry for the late updates! I know I should be updating faster for Tainted Ice and not many people are into the semi-AU thing. It's my first time writing a JELSA fic and I hope you enjoyed it so far. Don't worry, the more exciting stuff's gonna happen starting from here on out. Anyway, I don't own Frozen nor do I own ROTG!

Chapter 14

Elsa shook her head and looked her palms, feeling the brimming power. But the moment she turned back, she found Anna on the floor and Jack trying to help her up. She could feel her heart shattering and something inside her began to bubble. She wasn't sure what it was. Was it jealousy? Was it anger? But whatever it was, Elsa gripped her dress while trying to control the sudden surge of power. She shook herself out of the daze while stumbling back fearfully. Before she could say anything, Kristoff and Olaf came running in.

"Anna," Kristoff helped her up to her feet. "Are you okay?"

"Y-yeah," Anna smiled weakly, trying to hide the pain in her chest. "I'm okay… I'm fine…"

What was that?

Anna gripped her chest tightly while feeling the sudden surge of frost inside her. She could feel her body suddenly freezing while looking up weakly at Elsa until she started to see a faint figure. Someone was trying to help her up also before the figure ran towards Elsa, suddenly talking to her.

"Wh-who is that," Anna weakly croaked while pointing at the figure.

Elsa gasped and shook her head. "N-no…!"

"Elsa, I think she's pointing to me," Jack held Elsa's hands kindly before looking at Anna. "Princess Anna?"

Anna gasped. "It said my name! Who are you?"

"My name is Jack Frost," Jack slowly introduced himself.

Anna gasped before looking at Elsa. "You said you were alone!"

Elsa stared at her sister bewildered, trying to hide Jack Frost from her sister. "I am! And," – she jumped topic to distract her. "Who is this? Wait, no – it doesn't matter. You have to leave."

"No," Anna stood in front of her defiant. "I know we can figure this out-!"

Elsa shook her head. "How? What power do you have to stop this winter? To stop me?"

As she retreated away from her sister, Elsa bit her lower lip as the image of attacking Anna flashed in her mind. She glanced at her hands as also the memories of her attacking Jack appeared. She remembered how she easily threw Jack against the wall and pinned him there with her own ice. The snow queen felt something bubbling inside of her as she tried to stop it but she finally heard the voice more clearly.

You hurt them. Shove them away!

They hate you!

Elsa, turn away!

"N-no, I didn't mean to," Elsa shivered fearfully while trying to hold onto herself, shaking her head and repeating her mantra. "Conceal, don't feel…"

Kristoff, seeing that Elsa was freaking out, put an arm around Anna. "Anna, maybe we should…"

Anna pushed herself away from Kristoff. "No, I'm not leaving without my sister!"

Jack immediately stood in front of Elsa. "Anna stop, you might make her freak out more than we need her to!"

"Stop saying my name whoever you are," Anna snapped and walked towards Elsa with tears brimming in her eyes. "Elsa, please – I don't want to leave you behind… I am not leaving without my sister!"

Elsa however exhaled and looked at Anna with a decisive stare. "Yes. Yes you are."

"Elsa, wait," Jack called out, seeing the shadows looming in the ice. "Elsa!"

"I've had enough! If I'm gonna to stay this way," Elsa turned to face Jack with a dark glare in her eyes. "Then all you stay away! You don't care for me anyway!"

"Elsa, wait!"

Before Jack could stop her, Elsa summoned a huge snowman that suddenly began sprouting from the ground. Everyone stepped back fearfully as it revealed ice crystal claws and a menacing glare. Elsa stepped back but found her back against the crystal castle's walls while her snowman's roars echoed throughout the palace. Kristoff held onto Anna while Olaf stood in front of her. Jack froze in fear when he saw the huge creature stomping towards them. He glanced at Kristoff before quickly overshadowing him. Kristoff froze all of a sudden before grabbing Anna and Olaf.

Hey what gives!? Who the hell are you!?

Sorry, whatever your name is. Do you wanna live or not!?

"Anna," Kristoff (Jack) wrapped his arm around her waist. "We gotta go, NOW!"

Anna stubbornly tried to dig her heels into the ground. "I am not leaving without my sister!"

"Well, you won't be able to leave without her next time if you keep this up!"

Despite being overshadowed, Kristoff could see what his body was doing. He froze as his body slid past the swinging fist of the snowman before running towards the other side. He had run fast before but he hadn't seen himself enter combat with something that was thrice his size. Olaf skidded around and yelped while Anna was being dragged around. He could feel his head glancing towards the balcony before shaking his head.

W-wait, what the hell are we doing!?

We're gonna have to jump, buddy!

Before Kristoff could say anything, Jack had made his body jump out the balcony. Anna and Olaf screamed their heads off as Jack left his body. The moment Jack left, Kristoff finally managed to get a good glance on him. He saw a teenage boy with white hair and bright icy blue eyes swinging his staff, creating a huge ice slide. Kristoff, Anna and Olaf slid down the slide as Jack guided the slide with his staff, bringing them all the way to the front gate. Kristoff, Anna and Olaf tumbled down to the ground as they heard something stomping out of the castle.

"We better go, now," Jack grabbed Kristoff. "Get everyone to move!"

Kristoff wasted no time grabbing Anna and Olaf. "Alright guys, time to go!"

"B-but," Anna could barely get a word in when the huge snowman soldier of Elsa stormed out. "Oh."

They all began their running when the snowman howled. "GET OUT!"

"Grr, wait until I get back here," Anna shook her fist at the snowman, grabbing a fistful of snow and throwing it at the snowman.

"Anna, no," Kristoff shouted as the snowball landed with a soft poof. "Oh come on."

The moment the snowball landed on the huge snowman's shoulder, the snowman roared and turned around. Jack could only groan as they all began running. He zapped the floor and created huge icicles and bought them as much time as he could. Jack clucked his tongue in annoyance before spinning around in the air to create a huge icy tornado before throwing it down on the snowman.

"Jeez, where did Elsa get that kind of power," Jack muttered as they went towards the edge of the cliff. "Damn."

The huge snowman had managed to corner all of them by the cliff as it let out a loud roar. Jack looked into the eyes of the creature and realized that he did see someone else there. He saw a very heartbroken and scared face past the blue eyes of the huge snowman. He saw Elsa, shivering and trying to contain something. However, all of a sudden the creature suddenly had black veins and the eyes turned from blue to black. Stomping hard on the ice, the snowman slammed Jack aside while it picked up both Kristoff and Anna, roaring in their faces.

"LEAVE ME ALONE!"

Jack could hear Elsa's anguish in the snowman's voice as it dropped Anna and Kristoff on the ground, storming back to the castle. When the snowman walked away, Jack immediately flew to the aid of Kristoff and Anna forming a platform beneath them to prevent them from falling.

"Everyone alright," Jack asked, looking for Olaf. "Where's the snowman?"

"Right here," Olaf popped out from the snow. "And it's not snowman! It's Olaf!"

Jack rolled his eyes before looking back at Anna. "Whatever, anyway – Anna, how are you feeling?"

It was Kristoff's turn to roll his eyes. "Anna can't hear you."

"Yes I can," Anna pouted and smacked Kristoff on the shoulder. "Y-your voice… it sounds familiar."

Jack nodded. "Yeah I've been watching over you guys for years."

Anna shook her head. "B-but why can't I see you?"

Jack exhaled sharply and began. "Your memories were altered so that the ice powers in Elsa wouldn't scare you. They decided to remove it from your memory so that you don't get traumatized and the ice starts affecting the way you think."

"It at least would have made her more cool and collected," Kristoff scoffed until Anna threw a snowball at him. "Hey!"

Jack chuckled and shook his head until he realized that Anna was talking to him. "W-wait, you can see me?"

"I can see a faint outline but I can hear you very well," Anna smiled. "I've been hearing spirits ever since I was small."

Jack laughed sheepishly while leaning on his shepherd's staff. "Wow, that's great."

More like it was an act of desperation due to being alone.

"But your voice – it sounds familiar."

Jack blinked several times. "It does?"

Anna started walking towards Jack and looking closely before extending her hand. The moment she touched him, she could feel her hand become ice cold. She yelped for a moment when everything in her mind suddenly became undone. Memories flooded into her mind as she saw Elsa using her powers in the ballroom and most of all, she saw someone else. She saw a white haired boy playing with them and helping Elsa become more creative. She saw the little butterflies he had produced from the drawings on the window. She saw them flying and Elsa suddenly creating a huge blizzard the moment someone tried to hurt her. However, the most prominent one was when she got blasted by Elsa by accident.

"J-Jack… Jack Frost," she beamed before snapping. "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!?"

Jack held his hands up in protest. "I've been here all this time. The thing is," – he hung his head. "The trolls had to edit your memories in regards to Elsa's powers. My main guess is it's probably because your mind would have frozen up and possibly could have ended up brain dead."

Kristoff rolled his eyes. "Isn't she already brain dead?"

"Shut up, Kristoff," she slapped his shoulder.

"Hey, you got engaged to a guy you just met!"

Jack sighed while shaking his head. "Anna, that's not how you do things. That can't be love, it's a decision made on rash and impulsive thinking."

Anna frowned. "Oh so now you're disagreeing with me too?!"

"I can see why Elsa freaked out," Jack pointed out firmly. "She probably was dealing with the coronation jitters, keeping her powers under control and then you suddenly spring on some engagement on her. Don't you think that was a little bit… well, insensitive?"

Anna bit her lip before becoming completely silent. She knew that Elsa would freak out but why didn't she know back then that Elsa had powers? She shook her head before holding the brooch that held her cloak together. The whole group remained silent before Jack slowly stood up to look at the castle at the distance. On the other hand, Kristoff had noticed another strand of Anna's hair turn white.

"Anna, we should find help," Kristoff dusted himself before beaming. "I know exactly who can help you!"

Anna and Jack exchanged glances before Olaf piped up. "Who?"

Anna rolled her eyes. "Let me guess, the love experts?"

"Hey," Kristoff grinned. "Trust me; they're gonna be more help than they look! Come on, Sven. Let's go bring them home."

Jack nodded but kept silent. He looked at Anna's hair as more of her strands slowly began to turn white. When Elsa had freaked out, he hadn't expected her powers to be that completely dependent on her fear. As Anna followed after Kristoff and Sven with Olaf, Jack flew nearby while looking back at the ice castle. He sadly hung his head while continuing to walk on forward. For now, he would have to leave Elsa and get Anna healed. He didn't like how her hair had slowly begun turning white and how her hands suddenly became ice cold.

"I just hope it's not the worst case scenario that I imagined," Jack murmured before gliding after them.
