Awakening

I just want to say good luck to my best friend/sister.

Dad walked into the room almost as soon as I finished hooking Selvig up to our equipment. He and Jarvis had turned a random room on the floor above the lab into the mini medical bay/room.

I had a feeling that we were actually going to need a med bay before too long.

Oh well, that was a problem for another day.

"He alright?" Dad asked as he came to stand beside me. His hair was still the same that I had left it, although now it was wet. Apparently he had learned that washing it did nothing.

"Physically, yes; mentally though…" I trailed off and glanced down at the sleeping doctor. "I'm going to see if Insania can patch a few things back together, since I'm not really in the best state to do it myself."

Dad nodded slowly, although his face darkened just slightly at the reminder of my current mental condition. Personally, I just thought the whole thing was rather annoying. Insania had fixed most of it when I had been unconscious. At least I was coherent and wasn't hallucinating nonstop.

My head was messed up, but it could be so much worse.

"Good job at dinner," He said and I turned around to see him smiling at me. "Sure, you totally ruined my starting prank, and my hair, but I think we all needed it."

"Of course," I exclaimed softly with a smile, "why do you think I did it?"

We both shared sly grins as we listened to the humming and beeping of the monitors.

"But, I'm going to get you back for the hair." He threatened me, and I couldn't help but smirk at him.

"Oh, you can definitely try." I told him; after all, I expected nothing less.

"That sounds like a challenge to me." Dad's face broke out into a large, evil grin that Loki would be proud of.

"Really?" I asked in false seriousness, "I don't know what you mean."

The two of us managed to keep straight faces for about twenty seconds before we both fell into a bout of the snickers.

"You called Sister Dear?"

Dad and I both jumped at the sound of Insania's voice, and I spun around to see my Sister sitting on the edge of Sevlig's bed, a dreamy look in her eye.

I blinked, ok I knew that I wasn't at the top of my game at the moment, but surely I should've felt Insania appearing! Right?

"I haven't even tried to get in contact with you yet." I said slowly, wondering how one earth she knew that I had wanted to speak to her.

"Yet, have, will, are...relative to each other, are they not?" Insania replied and I sort of just stared at her.

She always ends up making my brain hurt.

"Whatever you say." Dad sighed; well at least he was smart enough to not dwell on her words.

"I was wondering if you could balance out Selvig's head a bit. You don't have to make it completely stable, because that would probably take some extensive tinkering at this point, but just...make not so chaotic."

Insania just blinked at me, and tilted her head in a silent question.

"Yes I know, I would be doing this but my head isn't exactly the best example to work off of at the moment!" I huffed, knowing what my Sister was thinking.

"And her's is?" Dad muttered to himself but we both ignored him. I waved Insania forward and spinning around she placed two fingers on Selvig's forehead, and a silvery-purple flash filled the air.

She always did have a flair for dramatics.

"Thanks," I said as she leaned back, Dad trying to blink the light out of his eyes.

"So, what whisperings did I hear about a war of pranks?" Insania asked innocently, or as innocently as she could muster.

The two of us shivered, Insania hadn't engaged in many prank wars with us before, but the ones she had...were always very memorable. Not to mention scarring.

I instantly turned away from the scene in front of me. My god...I was definitely scarred for life now.

"Oh, um…" My brain scrambled around the tiny flashback, trying to think of a good excuse to use.

"How about we agree only to join forces when it comes to Romanoff?" Dad suggested, and I wanted to smack him.

Yes I was greatly irritated with her, but that didn't mean I wanted the spy to have a break down! Well, normally I wouldn't mind but my Duties probably wouldn't allow it. From what I could sense, she was important.

Sadly.

I jumped back as Insania started laughing hysterically, literally falling off of the bed and rolling on the floor.

"Wha…" Dad said slowly as he stared wide eyed at the Immortal.

I glance between her and my father before quickly fleeing the room.

I really, really didn't need, or want, to know.

Fifteen minutes later, I popped back over to London. Grabbing Jane and Darcy, who were both now passed out on their kitchen table, I dumped them on two couches on the same level of the kitchen.

After that I appeared in the Lab, where Dad was once again making repairs to all of the suits.

"Where's Pepper anyway?" I asked, actually surprised that the redhead hadn't waited up to yell at me like she had before.

Dad snickered and replied, "Oh, she was rather furious at you...so I may or may not've slipped some sleeping tablets into her coffee…"

I burst out laughing, leaning on my spinning chair before collapsing into it.

"What did you do, anyway?" I asked the white haired spirit as he tried to stifle his snickering.

"Oh, I might've put a few sleeping tablets into his cocoa...and then moved all of the clocks forward twelve hours." He replied and I had to bite back a laugh.

Jack was going to die when North woke up...but man, was totally worth it.

The flashback actually just made me laugh harder, so it took about ten minutes to calm down enough.

Dad had just been shaking his head in amusement the whole time.

Once I had managed to calm down, I drawled, "Glad to know I'm such wonderful entertainment."

I smirked as Dad started chuckling. I really did love my life.

"So, starting at breakfast tomorrow…" Dad began, laying out the start of the war and retribution.

I couldn't help but cackle as the plans were irons out.

Oh sure, I knew that I needed to sort out my head but damn it I also needed to hang out with my father. We had barely spent any real time together in the past few days.

So, I could ignore a few flashbacks for a couple hours.

Besides, we had some revenge to plan.

Third POV

Mortem appeared next to his Twin Vitam. She raised an eyebrow at his appearance, but didn't stop her work, watching as many fae and spirits flew about her realm in this dimension.

"Just thought I'd warn you," Mortem said with a small smirk, "You might not want to stop in to see Aequivalere any time soon."

Vitam paused, actually surprised before she narrowed her eyes at her twin. "And why is that, Brother Dear?"

Mortem couldn't help it, his smirk grew until it stretched across his face. "Four words," He held up four fingers to represent said words.

"Insania," Down one finger went.

"And," He lowered another.

"Prank wars." His hand fell back to his side just as he vanished, his laugh echoing through the air.

Vitam shivered, remembering the prank war the young Immortal had started eons ago in Cor...and that had been when she was Chaos!

She shivered again, and tried not to imagine how much worse it could be with her as Insania!

She suddenly paused, the Soul in her hands flickering as the Cleansing paused as well.

Vitam only just remembered that Infinitas never had given her a reason to trust Insania.

She slowly just shook her head and returned her attention to her Duties.

That was Mortem and Aequivalere's problem, not her's.

Thank their Father.

Mortem's POV

I was rather disgruntled with my Bonded; not that she was paying enough attention to tell. Her mind was still rather shattered, oh it was far from broken, but it was still in disarray. The reason I was irritated with the younger Immortal, was because instead of sleeping, she had stayed up all night with Tony, and later Insania, planning pranks!

I didn't care if she played pranks, actually most of them turned out to be rather amusing and entertaining, especially when Insania was involved…

But getting her mind sorted was important! There were some answers that we could only gain from E're's memories...answers that Infinitas and I wanted rather badly.

After all, I hadn't just been in my Sister's home to watch Insania torment the red-haired mortal; that had just been a bonus.

She had to know that Fati wasn't just going to let her go...this had been going on for too long for Fati to do that.

I scowled, and shifted my invisibility so Banner wouldn't sense me as I crossed my arms over my chest.

I was worried, and I really, really didn't like being worried about my Bonded.

"PENELLA AND ANTHONY STARK, YOU TWO BETTER NOT BE BEHIND THIS!"

I winced as the mortal known as Pepper Potts screamed once she appeared in the kitchen. Personally, I didn't see the redecorating as all that bad. But perhaps she just didn't agree with purple scaled walls, and moving, green fuzzy floors. Or it could be the fact that her hair was different than usual, she now sported cat ears and a tail.

Oh, and glittery, she was a very, very glittery mortal.

I sighed and rubbed my temples as my Duties flared.

I knew one thing, I was not getting involved in this, not even to bail E're out.

Why didn't I get a day off?

Yeah...I had a plan for this chapter and then...it sorta just vanished from my mind. So I had to just come up with something else, which is why it's short.

At least I updated quickly though!
R&R please!
