Me: I don't own Frozen or ROTG!

Chapter 21

Jack flew into the air and headed straight into the castle, kicking down the gates. He saw more icy minions roaming they suddenly turned their heads towards him. The guardian of fun however didn't seem fazed as he charged in with his shepherd's staff twirling around. He slammed the butt end into one of the ice elementals before jumping up and shooting down icy gargoyles. When did Elsa get so gothic? He ducked and swept one of its feet before unleashing ice bolts from the tip of his staff.

"I'm wasting too much time here," Jack scowled as he jumped up into the air again, shooting from the skies.

Before he could finish blasting one of the elementals, an ice bolt just shot him out of the sky. He gasped for air as he fell straight to the ground with a loud thud onto the stone-cold pavement. He groaned in pain and looked up when he saw a black haired girl with thick dark make-up step out. She had a smirk on her face and Jack could do nothing but stare in surprise. He saw that it was Elsa's dress but when did she cut her hair and dye it? He could barely twitch as the Ice Queen squatted in front of him.

"Hello, Jack," she crooned.

After that, everything went black for Jack.

Anna on the other hand was still struggling with her freezing body. She could feel her legs becoming heavy and her hands were becoming numb. Her body trembled from the sheer cold as she tried to move without much success. Olaf desperately tried to keep her warm and stoked the fire. As long as her legs were frozen solid, she couldn't walk. Her arms were already turning into ice so crawling was out of the question. Olaf looked around and pondered to himself. What could possibly get Anna moving? He then saw a trolley nearby and an idea hit him!

"Anna, I have a way out," he exclaimed.

The brunette princess weakly looked up. "Really?"

"Yeah, since we can't have you crawl or run," the snowman ran after the cart and rolled it towards her. "We can just roll you out!"

Anna smiled and whispered hoarsely. "Olaf, you're genius!"

"At least we won't be sitting here and freezing our butts off," Olaf grinned before gesturing to Anna. "Come on, Anna! Get on!"

Anna looked at the trolley warily. "Are you sure that thing can carry a person?"

"We don't have time to be picky, Anna," Olaf ran towards her and struggled to lift her. "Come on!"

Seeing Olaf's determination, Anna struggled to push herself up even if her arms were feeling like lead. She could feel a sharp pain shooting up her arms and the ice crawling up even further. But Anna didn't want to die cold and alone; that was something horrible. She didn't want to die in the living room, frozen to death. But the question still remained: why would Elsa do that to her? Why would Elsa freeze her even further than she should? My sister would never do that, Anna shook her head defiantly. Why would she do it?

Why?

Finally, she managed to climb onto the cart as Olaf pushed the cart with full force. The doors swung open as they ran through the hallways. Anna lay on the trolley as her life began flashing before her eyes. She remembered the days she was in the hallways alone with her bicycle while Elsa was in her room. She passed by her old room before noticing Elsa's crystal patterned door. She remembered all the good times she had spent with her sister until the accident. Elsa then had been so terrified to use her powers and when her memory was wiped, that made things worse.

"Elsa, I'm so sorry," Anna began to sob. "I didn't mean to leave you alone…"

Olaf could hear Anna sobbing out her apology but chose not to say anything. He didn't want to aggravate Anna's guilt even further until the doors slammed open. Olaf gasped in horror as he found Elsa calmly walking inside with ice elementals dragging a familiar body along. Olaf gasped and panicked before rolling Anna into one of the closets, peeking past the door. Elsa strode past them with two ice elementals dragging Jack's unconscious body on the floor.

"Jack," Olaf gasped. "What happened to you?"

Anna weakly looked up. "Wh-what?"

Olaf gasped in horror. "They got Jack!"

Anna gawked fearfully and pushed herself off the cart, feeling some energy go into her legs. "Olaf, quick! We have to go help him…!"

She nearly collapsed until Olaf helped her become stable. "But wait, Anna! We have to thaw you out first! You can't go charging in with frozen arms and legs!"

Anna stopped and nodded weakly. "Y-you're right… Hans but… he…"

"Anna, it's alright," Olaf smiled and patted her shoulder, embracing her. "You're gonna be okay."

It was then Anna started feeling some life return to her arms and legs, feeling slightly warmer. "Olaf?"

"Yeah?"

"You don't happen to have a match, don't you?"

Olaf blinked several times before shaking his head. "No… whyyy," – it was then he noticed that some of the freezing on Anna's arms had stopped. "The ice! The ice, it stopped!"

Anna nodded with delight. "I know!"

"Oh, oh, I'll give you more hugs," Olaf jumped up and down, hugging Anna. "So… is it working?"

Anna looked at her arms and still saw that her fingers were frosted over. She sadly shook her head and looked at the other parts of her body. The ice had definitely stopped crawling over her skin but her hair was still white and she could still feel cold inside. She couldn't understand why either. Olaf, as a snowman, was supposed to be anything but warm. How come Olaf's hugs able to warm her?

Hi I'm Olaf! And I like warm hugs!

She remembered when Elsa first introduced the snowman to her. She remembered all the times they would play in the ball room. She also remembered the days she would ask Elsa outside her room door if she wanted to build a snowman. The times that they went skating around the ballroom floor with ice freezing it over, she remembered all of that. But then, she realized something about Olaf. Unlike many of her creations, he was talking and had feelings just like any person! How could that be…?

"Unless," Anna looked at Olaf only to see a twinkle in the snowman's eye. "He has…"

Olaf turned to her and cocked his head to the side. "Has what, Anna?"

Before she could say anything, an ice elemental suddenly wrenched the door open. Anna yelped and weakly kicked the elemental in the stomach while Olaf shoved the elemental on the wall. Anna quickly began hobbling away while Olaf grabbed the cart and pushed it as hard as he could. The moment it got rolling, he bumped Anna to get on top of the trolley as they slid down the hallway. Anna yelped as they made tight turns and went down the stairs. The trolley then bucked over and threw both she and Olaf off as they were splayed out on the marble floor.

"Ow," Olaf groaned.

"Ouch," Anna winced as she slowly got up and the doors suddenly swung open to reveal Kristoff and a human-sized bunny rabbit with a commando belt with two boomerangs? "I must be going crazy…"

Kristoff saw Anna splattered on the ground. "Anna…!"

Kristoff rushed towards her and Bunnymund shook his head at the princess. "Nope, you ain't going crazy, mate."

Olaf jumped up and gasped. "Whoa, a talking rabbit!"

"I ain't just any talkin' rabbit," Bunnymund smirked proudly. "I'm the Easter Bunny and I'm gonna whoop some frozen butts!"

Drip.

Drip.

Drip.

"Ugh," Jack slowly woke up as his vision was blurry. "Where…?"

He found himself suspended by chains and his staff lying far away from him. However much to his surprise, the queen nonchalantly sat on the bench in the prison cell and blew the dust off her finger nails. Jack saw his staff lying far away from him. He wondered if the queen even noticed if he was awake. He could feel his legs becoming numb from hanging from the air for too long and he could feel his arms aching. Glancing at his staff and stretching out his arm, he tried to summon his staff towards him only to get zapped in the palm by an ice bolt.

"Agh," he winced and began shaking his hand to soothe the pain. "That hurt…!"

"Of course it was supposed to hurt, stupid," Dark Elsa rolled her eyes. "Good morning, Jackie."

He shuddered at the way she called him "Jackie". "Elsa…?"

"Yes and," she pondered for a bit before waving it off. "No, it's kind of hard to distinguish us no? I mean we're both each other save for the darker hair and make-up."

Jack winced and stared at Elsa. "Where's the real Elsa then? And what do I call you?"

"Oh you can call me Dark Elsa if your brain isn't too smart," Dark Elsa scoffed with an evil smirk. "Oh and don't worry about our beloved Elsa. She's perfectly okay. She just wanted to get away from the stress for awhile."

"More like you forcibly took over her body," Jack muttered until a blast of ice knocked the wind out of him. "Gah!"

Dark Elsa glared at him before standing up, stalking towards him and grabbing his face. "I wonder what she saw in you. You abandoned her in her time of need. When she asked you to teach her how to control her powers, you couldn't do it at all! I wonder what she saw in you."

Jack coughed and gasped for air before glaring at her.

"Aww, don't look at me like that, Jackie baby," she crooned sweetly before letting go of his face and walked towards the window. "You know Jack, you were right. I just had to learn how to have fun."

Jack narrowed his eyes. "Elsa, this isn't fun! This is hurting people! Your version of fun is destroying Arendelle and tearing it apart!"

Dark Elsa shrugged nonchalantly. "So what? They called me a monster…"

Jack froze when he had recalled the time the governess had called her a "freak" and a "monster".

"And aren't monsters supposed to kill people," Dark Elsa smiled slowly and wiggled her fingers, summoning small blue waves towards the window.

Jack gasped in shock when she had drawn a dragon on it and began focusing her energy onto it. She easily pulled out the 2D drawing of the dragon and brought it to life in the dungeon cell. She chuckled in amusement as the dragon growled in Jack's face. Dark Elsa gasped and turned on the dragon, slapping its nose. The dragon whimpered after Dark Elsa whacked the dragon's snout as it began to shrink and curl up.

"Behave," Dark Elsa scolded. "I can't have you eating him…"

The dragon moaned as Dark Elsa walked towards Jack with a smirk. She then turned towards the dragon with a devilish sneer.

"That's because Jack is mine," Dark Elsa jeered at it before commanding it. "Now, you stay here and make sure he doesn't go anywhere. As for you," – she turned to Jack with a smirk and sang mischievously. "You have to stay where you are otherwise, I'm gonna have to punish you."

Jack rolled his eyes sarcastically. "Jeez, I'd be shivering in my sweater if I weren't the guardian of ice and cold."

Dark Elsa smirked and began walking towards the door. "Now if you excuse me, I have to manage my new army now. I didn't expect creating soldiers would be such a handful."

As Dark Elsa walked out the door, Jack looked at the dragon that simply groaned and lay its head on its body to take a nap. Jack groaned in annoyance and tried to move his feet only to realize that they weren't shackled. He looked down to see that his feet were freely moving. He had a "duh" expression on his face as he concentrated the energy into his palms. The shackles were made of metal; he could have easily just frozen it off! He concentrated the energy into his wrists and palms until he could hear something cracking. The dragon twitched and groggily looked up until the shackles cracked and Jack floated at the same height to prevent the dragon from noticing anything. The dragon looked lazily at him before going back to sleep.

Seeing the dragon drop back to sleep, Jack called his staff to him. And the moment it reached his hand, Jack froze the lock off and immediately flew off.

It's show time!
