AN: Sorry for the delay, I have no real excuse except to say I'm easily distracted. Plus this scene was in my head but not so easy to translate into words. Hope I did okay. Enjoy!

Chapter 24: Opening Night part 1

Emily was nervous. There was only a half hour until the curtain went up and she was starting to feel the butterflies in her stomach. Emily was backstage in the school's auditorium, trying very hard not to pace up and down the floor. JJ and the gang would be arriving soon and taking their seats in the audience and Emily wasn't sure if knowing that made her more nervous or less.

From the other side of the stage, Jo looked at Emily for a moment, wondering if the new girl was going to be okay to go on, or if she would get stage fright and not be able to go on. Jo's eyes drifted to a junior brunette who was standing a few feet away, the girl was Emily's understudy and Jo grinned at the thought that she was probably hoping Emily wouldn't be able to go out on stage.

Before Emily's nerves could truly get the better of her, she felt two arms wrap around her from behind and a puff of warm breath in her ear. She leaned back and relaxed as her hands came up to cover the hands that were now resting against her abdomen.

Before Emily could say anything, a soft voice asked, "Miss me?"

The soft Italian accent that Emily heard in those two words made her blood run cold as she recognized the voice. Emily immediately tensed and began to move away from the unwanted embrace. But the arms around her tightened as the voice said, "shh shh, don't make a scene Little Emily. You know what I am capable of doing. Don't make me remind you, cara."

Hearing Gina's voice again, saying the nickname she used to use for Emily when they were together was enough to make the bile rise in Emily's throat, but she held back and called on all of her training as the daughter of an Ambassador and calmed herself down enough to deal with Gina. "No, I remember. There won't be a scene, just…why are you here Gina? How did you find me?"

Gina grinned, feeling the early stirrings of victory when Emily relaxed enough to talk to her rather than struggle against her. "I am here for you Emily. We are destined to be together, how else do you explain that you moved to the same town as my cousin?" Gina turned Emily to look at Jo, who wasn't looking in their direction because she was busy talking on her cell phone.

Emily's eyes widened slightly as she realized in that moment why Jo had always seemed familiar to her. Now that she knew about the family connection, Emily could see the resemblance even more clearly. "It was just a coincidence Gina."

"No…no cara it was fate. You, here, waiting for me to find you…and now, I am going to take you away from here and we are going to find a nice quiet place in this town where we can figure out how you're going to make up for the fact that you betrayed me to save your own skin." Gina began to slowly walk backward, pulling Emily with her towards the exit.

Emily walked with her, waiting for the right moment to make a move and break free. She wasn't going to let Gina win.

Gina was almost to the doorway that led to the hallway of the school and she was feeling even more confident because no one had noticed her yet. Jo was still focused on her phone call and the few people that were in the backstage area were too busy with their own things to look around and see a stranger leading Emily away from the auditorium.

Gina glanced behind her once to ensure she was almost at the door then she turned back towards Emily and put her lips close to her ear, "almost there Emily…and no one can stop me. You are mine again and this time I'm not letting you go again."

Emily closed her eyes and took a breath, preparing to make a move and break free. She couldn't let Gina succeed in getting her out of the building. Before Emily could make her move, however, Gina felt a hand land on the hand that was resting on Emily's hip. Before she could react, her hand was being pulled away and she was being spun around away from Emily.

Gina turned to face whoever had dared to interrupt her escape and came face to face with cold blue eyes. In the second it took Gina to register that there was someone stupid enough to challenge her right to Emily, Gina felt her arm twist and her body turn as her blue eyed assailant managed to immobilize her and jam her arm up behind her back almost to the breaking point.

JJ used her strength and Gina's momentum to slam the older girl into a nearby wall and her own body to hold her there as she held Gina's arm behind her back. It was taking all of JJ's self-control not to break the girl's arm right then.

JJ had made her way into the school and over to the auditorium with the gang as they arrived for the play. JJ, wanting to make sure Emily was okay in light of the knowledge she now had about Gina being in town, had slipped away from the gang to head backstage to see Emily. JJ had just turned into the doorway that led to the backstage area when she saw a blonde girl she didn't recognize slip behind Emily and grab her. JJ immediately knew it had to be Gina and she quickly realized that if she tried to approach them right away, it was turn into a standoff and attract too much attention.

So she slipped back into the hallway and hid by the door, waiting for Gina to lead Emily that way, since it was the closest exit to them. JJ used her compact mirror to keep an eye on them and when Gina was close enough, she made her move.

Now, JJ had Gina pinned to the wall as she looked at Emily, "Are you okay Em?"

Emily, still in a bit of shock at the sight of JJ holding Gina against the wall like that just nodded.

JJ smiled quickly at her girlfriend then turned back to Gina and growled, "You shouldn't have come here Gina."

Gina just grunted, "Let me go now and I promise I'll let you live."

JJ chuckled, "I have a better idea." JJ noticed then that Morgan was standing in the doorway looking surprised. She turned to him and said, "Morgan, can you go get Sheriff Brooks for me, now?"

Morgan snapped out of his surprise and just nodded, "Be right back." He left to go find the sheriff who was in the audience waiting for the play to start.

Emily just stood there watching as JJ kept Gina from moving. It was, frankly, very hot seeing JJ like this and Emily was mentally calculating how long she'd have to wait to 'reward' JJ for her heroics.

Sheriff Brooks, followed by Morgan and the rest of the gang, walked up to JJ and Gina, smiling as she asked, "Miss Jareau, what's going on here?"

JJ glanced at the Sheriff then motioned with her head to Gina, "Making a citizen's arrest Sheriff, thought you might like the official honors though."

"I see, and what's this girl's crime?" Sheriff Brooks was familiar with Jennifer Jareau, having been a year behind her mom in high school. She was curious as to what this girl had done to set JJ off like this.

"She's in violation of a federal restraining order." JJ repeated the words Emily's mom had told her to use if she caught Gina near Emily. The official sounding words would help JJ make her point much faster than anything else she could come up with and by the look on Sheriff Brooks' face, it was working.

Sheriff Brooks' smile left her face as she reached into her back pocket and pulled out her handcuffs. In a smooth transition, JJ released Gina's arms for only a second before the sheriff managed to slip the cuffs onto them. Sheriff Brooks turned Gina around to look at her. "State your name and your business here."

Gina looked around for a moment and noticed that there was now a group of people standing there and Emily had moved closer to the blonde who had grabbed her arm. To Gina, it looked like Emily was involved with the blonde and that angered the older girl once again. She turned to the Sheriff and said, "Gina Santori. I came to see an old friend. Is that a crime?"

"It is if there's a restraining order in place." Sheriff Brooks turned to JJ, "I take it you have proof of this order?" JJ nodded and reached into her purse for the paperwork that she received from Emily's mom. She handed it over to the sheriff and waited.

Emily was confused but she knew enough to hold her tongue and wait until she and JJ were alone to ask about the restraining order she had no knowledge of until this moment.

Sheriff Brooks looked over the paperwork and realized it was real, it was official and it was indeed signed by a federal judge. She nodded then turned to Gina, "According to this Miss Santori, you have been ordered to stay away from Emily Prentiss, Jennifer Jareau and the rest of their friends and family. You are indeed in violation of this order and as such, I'm going to have to place you under arrest." Sheriff Brooks turned to JJ then, "I'm going to make a copy of this," she held up the restraining order, "then you'll get it back."

"Thank you Sheriff."

"You all enjoy the play. Come by the station tomorrow and I'll have this ready for you. Let's go Miss Santori." Sheriff Brooks began to lead Gina away from the group and out of the building towards her squad car. She was now in a pissed off mood because she was going to have to miss the play. Her sister, Hailey Hotchner, was a brilliant drama teacher and director and the sheriff had been to every play she'd put on. Grease was her favorite movie and she was annoyed at having to miss it but the law waited for no play.

Once the sheriff had left with Gina, Emily turned to JJ and was about to ask for an explanation when she felt a tap on her shoulder and she turned towards the person and saw it was Monique Jefferies, the stage manager. Monique just smiled awkwardly at Emily, having witnessed what had just happened, "Sorry Emily but it's show time. You need to get into position for the opening number."

Emily nodded, having forgotten about the play in the excitement of the Gina drama. "Oh, ok. Be right there." Emily turned to JJ, "this isn't over JJ. After the play, I want an explanation, got it?"

JJ nodded, grateful for the reprieve before she had to confess to everything. Hopefully, by the end of the play, Emily's mom would be there to help her explain everything. "You got it baby. Now go, be brilliant." JJ leaned forward and kissed her quickly before she ushered the gang back out to their seats to see the play.

Emily watched them leave and smiled, hoping that tonight's events might mean the end of the Gina chapter in her life. Emily turned and headed for the stage, already in costume, to take her place in the opening number, singing the "Grease" song with the cast.

AN: It's not very long but the next chapter will hopefully be done soon. Hope ya'll liked it. I brought in Hotch's sister in law as the sheriff because I needed a cop and she was the first one I though of. (Although, oddly enough, when I was writing her lines, I kept picturing the sheriff from Smallville...hmmm) Anyway, thanks for sticking with this story.
