Chapter 26

Cerise vs. School

December 12, 1998

"Cerise, no. Give me my case." I tugged, but she came along with it.

"No." She chirped.

"I'm not telling Grimm I had to fight you." I put the case down to pry her off. She just grabbed my hand.

"Red! Cerise isn't listening to me." I complained.

"She misses you." Red got the one year old off me. She pouted and gave me puppy eyes until I gave her a kiss. Then Red wanted one.

"Love you. See you tonight." I rushed out the door.

I made my way past the crowd, which was easy, and got to my class. Luckily, we were in the middle of a project. The kids were rowdy, the day was boring, and I wanted to go home. Being a Villain teacher was the worst. Not in fun way. I graded last week's test and went to the bar. Red wouldn't mind if I was a little late. Getting to a phone, I dialed our apartment's number.

"Hello?" She asked.

"Hi, it's Bad Wolf. I'm going to get a drink." I told her.

"Not too many, got it?" She warned.

"Got it." I heard Ceris' coo for me.

"I'm handing Cerise the phone." Red held it up to her ear.

"Daddy!" She squealed.

"Hi, Sweetheart. I'll be home soon, ok?" I said softly.

"Play wit me." She wanted me to come home and have our predinner playtime.

"I will." I smiled.

"Bye bye!" She yelled as Red took back the phone.

"Go get your drink, Baddy. We'll see you soon." She hung up.

I hung and got my change. I found the worn metal door handle to the Golden Cup. I walked in and was hit smells. Beer smell, people smell, greasey food smell. The seat I usually took was taken by a bunch of girls. They were in tees and loose pants, looking freshly showered. I went to order my drink and got a Sotch on the rocks. I stood awkwardly and waited. I got my drink in time and paid then left. The bar wasn't fun if I couldn't sit and make fun of drunk Royals and princes.

I got home and Ceris' tried to walk to me, but ended up falling and making herself cry. I had to comfort her until she was ok again. Then we had playtime. She made a tower out of some blocks I got her. It kept falling over, but it was the thought that made it fun. I guess. We fed her and got her ready for bed. She demanded I stay with her until she fell asleep.
