Chapter 8: Forgiven or forsaken?
The sun was slowly descending and an inky darkness took its place in the sky as dusk slowly turned to night, all creatures that thrived during the day now hid as the creatures of the night made their presence known. One of these night creatures lay still in her bed, her eyes fought to remain closed while the darkness called to her, urging her to wake…eventually her instincts took over and much to her chagrin she was forced to awaken from her death-like slumber. As she sat up in her bed she realised that she was under the blankets but had no memory of covering herself when she crawled back into bed the previous evening but she soon shrugged it off and assumed that she had simply been too tired and upset to recall such things.
Seras proceeded to look around her room once and saw that like the night before the candles were lit however she saw that there was no longer a window in her room…just a wall where she was certain the window use to be…
"Great now I'm imagining things…..I've finally lost it…",she was so busy grumbling to herself that she didn't realise that there was another presence in the room. Alucard remained in the doorway leaning against the doorframe and couldn't help but be amused by his beloved's grumblings. "You have not lost your senses dear one", the reaction was just as comical as he thought it would be, Seras turned around so fast she almost fell out of bed, her eyes were as large and round like an owl's and the little squeak that escaped her lips was the topping on the cake and soon Alucard couldn't keep himself from chuckling at Seras' expense.
"Don't scare me like that! Haven't you heard of knocking Master?",there it was, that single word that was enough to kill Alucard's laughter, just hearing her call him that left a sour taste in his mouth. Seras had more or less the same reaction as she realised what she had called him, immediately she looked away from him and instead stared at the wall where the window use to be.
Wanting to ease the tension Alucard used his powers to recreate the window, morphing the stone to open and form the window once again thus giving Seras the perfect view of the rising moon. Once again her reaction was quite funny as her mouth hung open in pure amazement. Alucard merely smiled before making his way to her and gently placed a finger under her chin and closed her mouth. Despite this she still tried to speak, "How….how…..",she tried to form a comprehendible sentence but failed miserably and proceeded to blush like an idiot while staring up at Alucard. He simply smile gently at her before raising his finger to lightly tap on her nose, "I'll teach you when you're ready."
At this response Seras puffed out her cheeks and pouted which in turn only made Alucard go from smiling gently to a full out grin. Just before Seras could come up with something curt to say her throat began to burn and she felt an intense hunger, this feeling brought back memories of what occurred the night before and she instantly knew what was going to happen next, as expected Alucard summoned a goblet in his hand filled with blood which he then offered to her and immediately she grabbed it and drank all of his contents, she was filled with such an intense need to feed she didn't need to think twice, whatever blood still coated the inside of the goblet was soon licked up and whatever she couldn't reach with her tongue was wiped up by her fingers which she would lick clean.
Alucard watched on, more than pleased with the way she took to drinking blood however there was something else, watching her drink, watching the way her tongue moved to lap up the remaining blood was bringing his lust for her to the surface. His eyes shown a brighter red, his fangs lengthened, his body ached with need while his instincts demanded that he take her then and there, and make her his once and for all. It was becoming too much and he had to force himself to move away from her and to look out the window so that he could calm his thoughts.
Once he was certain that he could control himself he turned to look at Seras and saw that she had finished with her meal and simply held the goblet in her little hands. She stared up at him with those expressive eyes of hers, Alucard couldn't help but stare back at her...he longed to hold her, to pull her into his arms and never let go...again he had remind himself why he was actually in her room in the first place.
"Seras, I have something to show you...come take my hand.", and with that he stretched out his hand and patiently waited for her to take it while seeing into her mind to find out what she was thinking...sure enough it was as he expected, she was curious and yet hesitant to touch him let alone go anywhere with him, there was still bitterness, anger and resentment lingering in her mind after what he had done to her but he could not fault her for that and so he continued to wait patiently for her to make the first move.
Seras' mind was a wreck, she felt compelled to go with him but on the other hand after everything that's happened she wanted to tell him to go to hell...but she did want to get out of this room for a bit and stretch her legs plus if she was being totally honest with herself she was curious to see what he had to show her...in the end she gave in to her curiosity and placed her hand in his...both vampires struggled to hide how much of an effect just that small touch had on both of them.
Alucard couldn't help but smile when Seras finally placed her petite hand in his much larger one, the mere touch of her skin sent shivers throughout his body and he could see that she was experiencing it as well. Not wanting to linger for too much longer he helped her out of bed and once she stood next to him he opened a portal. Seras tensed at the sight of the dark portal and subconsciously squeezed Alucard's hand, he merely stepped into the portal and gave her hand a firm tug so as to pull her in behind him...next thing Seras knew she was engulfed in darkness, it felt like she was floating but she could still feel Alucard's hand wrapped around hers...it was only a few seconds when suddenly there was light again as both vampires stepped out of the darkness and into the castle gardens.
Seras had to take a moment to get herself balanced and to take in her surroundings, immediately she was struck with the sight of the beautiful garden, there were so many different types of flowers and more colours than she ever hoped to see in a single garden, there wasn't a single leave or petal was out of place and the early evening light made everything look so surreal. She was so engrossed in the sight before her that she didn't even realize that Alucard was no longer holding her hand and that he was instead standing behind her. Alucard took pleasure in seeing the surprised look on her face and gently placed his hands on her shoulders so that he could turn her around to face the main feature within the small garden.
Seras could feel herself being turned around but before she could say anything her eyes fell upon the great stone like structure at the other end of the garden, sub consciously she slowly made her way towards it until she could clearly see her parents' names engraved on the stone and the bouquets that were placed in the stone vases...she was stunned into silence and could only stare at the tombstone.
Alucard stood back and watched her for a moment before deciding to speak, "This place is yours Little One, I made this garden for you after I first met you all those years ago, this is your sanctuary...and your parents are here now as well, they will always be with you...", Seras still remained silent with her back towards him but he didn't need to see her face to know that she was crying, he could smell the salt from her tears from where he stood...it pained him to know that she was crying but he had to wait for her to make the first move. "I cannot change the past Seras but I hope that in time...if you'll let me, that I can ease your pain and give you a future here..."
The silence stretched on as Seras continued to cry silently to herself, her mind racing with all kinds of thoughts, her emotions were all over the place and the more she tried to make sense of everything the more she cried...she didn't know what to do or say, she wanted to scream and cry and smile and curse...she wanted to hate everything and everyone especially the villagers and Alucard however she just couldn't bring herself to hate the vampire, try as she might she couldn't hate him not after this, whatever wrongs he had committed they seemed to pale in comparison to the kindness and compassion he had shown with giving her such a gift. It was settled...there was only one thing that she could do...so she turned around and ran straight towards him.
Alucard was more than a little surprised when Seras hurled herself into his arms, held onto him for dear life and began crying opening into his chest. Taking but a second to get over the shock he wrapped his arms around her and gently laid small kisses on the crown of her head. He took this whole reaction to be a good sign and that it meant that she had forgiven him even if only just a little. At that moment he was content...his lust and passion were subdued for the time being and he held on to her without fear of losing control...all he could think about is that his Mate needed him at this moment and nothing else matter other than that. In that moment whether she needed him to be a friend, a guardian or her mate he didn't quite care, he'd be whatever she needed him to be so long as he could be with her for the rest of his immortal life.
Chapter done, hope you guys like it.
