Chapter 31 broken
A/n: this chapter will be short, Sorry. Also, were reaching the end of the manga. So a small heads up on that.

The group were running as far as they could from the mall, They hadn't stopped for a second since they began. And although Asami and Ross were saved, Koukennin was not. He was murdered by his other son Reikokuna. The group kept going as they made there way to the police station, Some of 'Them' were in the way.
However, That's when Ross used his lightning dash as he then grabbed the undead monster and ripped it's head off of it's body, It's spinal cord coming with it. The others were in utter fear and shock by his action.
"What the hell are you doing Hikatori!?" Takashi said.
"You'll only draw more toward us!" Saya said.
Ross then smiled as wide as he could, Showing his teeth as he then threw the zombies head on the ground and stomped on it.
"Die...just die, I want you all to fucking die!" He yelled. The others were afraid of how he was acting, But they all knew why he was acting like this. And that was the final straw on his sanity.
Saya then called out to her husband.
"Are you crazy!?", Ross quickly glared at the others. His dark long raven hair shadowing his face as his bright yellow eyes glowed. He then took his railgun from his back and aimed it at his team.
"R-Ross..." Yuuki said.
Ross smiled wide as he then fired the trigger killing one of 'Them' that was behind Alice, Ross then surged his lightning in his free hand.
"I wanna kill some more...hehehehe" he said darkly, That's when Kaz walked up to him.
Slap!
"Bro! Just get a hold of yourself!" He said, Ross then started laughing.
"Heh...hehehehe, Not bad. Let's see you try that again!" He shouted.
Slap!
"Ross enough! You can't keep acting like this!" Kaz said "Look I told you, We'll get him back. You just have to relax". Ross then looked at the ground.
"Relax...? Y-your kidding right? You're telling someone like me to relax?" He said, That's when Ross grabbed Kaz and held him up "HOW IN THE FUCK CAN I RELAX KAZ!?" He said "Don't you know what I just saw not too long ago? I just saw my own father get killed by my older brother! And you're telling me to relax!? Fuck you! My father was the only family that I had, He was always there for me! He was always supporting me, He was the best damn person that I loved and cared for. And all you want me to do is relax!". Ross then started crying.
"M-my father...father...".
That's when Alice came over to Ross and hugged him as tight as she could.
"Angel...".
"What is it little one?".
"Don't yell like that 'They' might hear you. And...and...I know how it feels. My daddy died too" she said, Ross then placed Kaz on solid ground as he then picked up Alice and held her tightly.
"Thanks..." Ross said, Alice smiled as she wiped a few of his tears away, Suddenly Zeke started barking as everyone turned to see more of 'Them' coming. Rei and Saeko quickly killed them, The two then saw some more of 'Them' coming at them.
"How are we supposed to get through this if our leader is spacing out!?" Rei said, Saeko then flicked the back of her head.
"Don't talk like that about our husband!" She said "don't you understand what Ross is going through, He just lost his father for godsakes!", Rei rubbed the back of her head as she glanced at her husband. She was just under so much stress, She wasn't truly mad at Hikatori. She could never be mad at the man she would always love.
Takashi then looked at his shotgun, "I still have some ammo left..at this rate I'm gonna have to fire...but if I shoot then..." He said, Kaz had overheard his friend as he spoke.
"We have to put off going home" Kaz said, Everyone looked at him in shock.
"What!?" Rei said in disbelief "But why!?".
Kaz then pulled out his sword.
"Because it looks like we're gonna have to fight our way through an army of 'Them' to get back home. But we're almost out of ammo" he said, Rei just kept looking at him.
"But-but-what about my mom!?" She cried.
"It will have to wait for now Rei I'm sorry".
Takashi nodded as he then grabbed Shizuka's arm.
"Miss Shizuka, I need you" he said, Shizuka just looked at Takashi.
"Wha!? Oh, Komuro, You naughty boy. I'm married" she said blushing, Takashi sighed "I think you misunderstood what I meant" he said. "I need you to tell me about Hikatori! Mi-Mrs. Shizuka. Do you think Ross will be ok?".
Shizuka looked over at her husband with a worried expression, She sighed sadly "The psychology classes I took didn't really talk about this kind of thing..." She said "But I think he might have combat stress reaction...shellshock in other terms...my love is already showing symptoms of it" she said.
Asami walked over to her "Could you explain to Asami what that means?" She asked, Shizuka nodded at her request.
"How would you feel if you were a highschool genius who's never failed a test, But when it comes to take your entrance exams for college you fail every one you take? It feels like that but 1,000 times worse" Shizuka said, Takashi sighed.
"So we can't keep getting ourselves in danger" he said "we probably could make it to our homes if we pushed ourselves...but...Ross would probably die on the way there". Kaz then placed his hand on his shoulder.
"No, It would be a whole lot worse than that..." He said "It wold be like the time that he went berserk all over again like he did at Saya's house, But much much worse...". Takashi was in utter fear of that happening again.
"So he would go on a killing spree...?" Takashi said, Kaz shook his head at him.
"Worse, He would destroy the city is in a matter of minutes...or the world" He said.
Takashi was now truly afraid.
"If that happens, Then Saya or Saeko would probably lose it next, Then it's just downhill from there. We would all be dead in a single day" Kaz said, Rei looked over at Ross.
"Reikokuna just had to kill his own father didn't he?" She said, Kaz placed his hands on his hips.
"Reikokuna only did it to break his brother's sanity. He knew how close they were and figured that if he could kill there own father, He would have made Ross lose it. That way, He would go mad and then in a matter of time, He would kill us. Thus, Stopping us from completing our mission" he said. Rei tightened her fists in anger.
"Damn that bastered!" She said. Saeko then interrupted them.
"Are you two about finished?" She said "I'm afraid we still have an immediate dilemma involving 'Them' on our hands. But if you two want a romantic double suicide then I won't stop you" she teased as she walked over to Ross, Kaz and Rei just looked at her.
"That wasn't funny..." Rei and Kaz mumbled under there breath. That's when Rei realized something.
"Wait! What if we look for my dad?" She asked Kaz, Kaz nodded at her.
"Good thinking. Who better to help us in our time of need than the police!?" He said, The two then heard footsteps coming over to them. They looked to see Ross and Saeko was holding onto his left arm.
"That's not a bad idea" Ross said, Kaz crossed his arms as he looked at his friend.
"How are you feeling?" He asked.
Ross smiled.
"Never better..." He said, Kaz however knew that he was lying through his teeth. But he would deal with it latter. Ross then placed his right hand over his katana.
"So, Where are you taking us now my Hikatori?" Saeko said making Rei pout at her in envy. Ross then kissed Saeko on the lips as he gently released her hold on him as he walked forward as he pulled out his sword.
"We need to get to the highway first! 'They' won't be able to surround us there! After that...it's off to the east police station!" He said as he as he then ran forward smiling widely. Saeko licked her lips as she followed her husband showing off her smile as well.
"Sounds like it'll be a blast...my Hikatori!" She said, Everyone just watched in utter awe at the two as they slashed down 'Them' both of them smiling like madmen. Kaz then pulled out his pistol and katana.
'Those two were made for each other' he thought as he ran forward after them, The others broke out of there trance as they followed. The group ran as they killed any of 'Them' as they made there way to the highway. There trip was short as they finally reached there destination.
Zeke then ran over to Shizuka and jumped into her cleavage. "Ah! What the? Where did Zeke go...? I thought I just heard him..." She said, Asami and Yuuki sighed at Shizuka's stupidity. Takashi then looked ahead and saw that the highway was clear of 'Them'.
"All right! The road's all clear!" He said.
Just then, They all heard something not too far from them.
"What was that sound in the distance?" Shizuka said.
"Gunshots!" Saya said.
Rei then started smiling.
"They're okay! The police are still okay!" She said as she hugged Shizuka "I'm sure my dad must be too then! I can't wait to meet him!".
Everyone smiled, However Alice was looking around and started freaking out.
"Hey, Where'd angel go?" She said, Everyone's smiles all quickly faded into fear. Kohta looked at the others "We have to find him and fast!" He said, Rei then glared at Saeko "I thought he was with you!?" She said.
Saeko glared back at Rei "He was, But he told me that he would take care of a few of 'Them' that were on our right flank. He said that he would take a few seconds" she said as she worried dearly about anything happening to Ross. Kaz then sighed.
"He was lying to you Saeko...he's still upset about his father, So he wants us to leave him so he won't get any of us killed" he said. Saeko then ran at Kaz as she had tears in her eyes.
"What!? Then we have to go get him!" She said.
Kaz then took off his dead space helmet.
"Ross is utterly broken, Look..I know that we need him, But how are we gonna be able to stop him from having random outbursts from time to time? He has to find a way to get over his father's death" he said. Saeko gritted her teeth.
"I'll...I'll do whatever I can to make my husband happy..." She said as she kept crying "I won't lose the man that I love so dearly, And if I do. Then I'll join him in death!". Kaz was touched by what Saeko just said, She would do anything to be with Ross. Even if that meant death itself.
They then heard lightning go off, The group turned to the Source of the sound.
"Alright! Let's hurry!" Takashi said.
-meanwhile-
Ross was killing 'Them' endlessly as he was in his bloodlust drive form. He smiled as he kept killing.
"How did you like that? Oh wait, You wouldn't know...because you all never got the chance to hear him scream!" He said to himself as he killed two more of 'Them'.
"You should have seen the look on his face when I was born, He smiled at me. He held me up and said that I was the best thing in the world...", Ross then killed another undead "He was always there for me...and he always had my back...".
That's when Ross placed his hands on his shoulders.
"It will all be over soon...and then...then I can join you again...father..." He said as he had a single tear come down his face, He then started to activate his dragon install form. However as he tried to start it he felt a huge surge of pain in his body as he kneeled to the ground. He then started coughing up blood.
"*cough* agh!...n-not bad, That actually hurt. Heh...hehehe" he said, The others were able to catch up to him.
"Ross!" They all cried, Asami then noticed something.
"What's wrong with Ross? Why is he on his knees?" She said, That's when Saya gasped.
"He's trying to activate his dragon install!" She said.
"What! But he already used it" Kohta said, Saya just kept looking at Ross from afar "He knows...he's going to kill himself with it...".
Rei then ran forward after him.
"Ross! No! Don't do it!" She yelled as she cried, Shizuka panicked until she had an idea.
"Alice, I can I see the bike" she said, Alice nodded as she gave her the bike. Shizuka then got on as she road over to Ross, Ross was coughing up more of his blood as the pain within his body felt like an iron maiden.
"Aghh!...*cough* s-soon...*cough*, I'll be able to join you..." He said, Shizuka road up to Ross as she pulled Zeke out of her breasts as she then held his cheeks.
'I hope this works' she thought. As she pulled Ross's face up to hers "Ross Hikatori! We're are you from!?" She said. Ross just looked at her "K-Koganei" he said. "Koganei, You say? There are only two things that live in Koganei! Humans and 'Them'! Which one are you!?", Ross didn't know what to say.
"I...I..." He stuttered, Shizuka smiled as she held her husband lovingly into her large breasts "You're not in highschool anymore. You're our leader and my husband, And it's your duty to protect everyone you can. Your father would want you to do that, He wouldn't want his son to give up just like that" she said as she kissed his cheek. Ross then remembered what his father had told him.
~"I held you up and said to you; This kid is going to be the best kid in the world. This kid is going to be better than anybody I ever knew, Till the time come for you to be your own man and take on the world.
Let me tell you something. The world and some of the people here isn't all sunshine and rainbows Ross. It's a very mean and cruel place sometimes, And it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. Nothing is going to hit you harder than life, And you can't always find the easy way out all the time. Sometimes you have to take that hit and keep moving forward. That's what a Hikatori is, It's a fire bird that keeps getting hit and keeps moving forward. You can't always look for an easy way out of everything son. Nor can you always feel sorry for yourself, You have to learn from your mistakes so that you don't make the same mistake again. You have to be stronger than that. Only cowards do that, And that's not you. Your better than that. You understand son?"~.
Ross then smiled to himself as he wiped his tears away.
"Yeah...yeah, You're right Shizuka" he said, Shizuka smiled as he then picked her up bridle style.
Shizuka was blushing madly "D-darling" she said as she wrapped her arms around his neck, Ross smiled brightly at her. The others were in disbelief.
"What the hell!? I can't believe that actually worked!" Saya said.
"Now there's the Hikatori I know" Saeko said.
"Ross" Rei said as she smiled brightly.
"Yay! Angel's back!" Alice said.
"Hehe, Yup. Our thunder God is back alright" Kohta said, Asami was smiling as well "Koukennin would be proud" she said. Takashi and Kaz nodded in agreement.
"Yeah he would" Takashi said, Ross reached his friends as he placed Shizuka back on the ground, He then rubbed the back of his head.
"Hehe, Sorry about all that you guys" he said "I guess I went nuts there". Kaz playfully hit him in the shoulder.
"Hey it's alright man" he said "But we can apologize latter". Ross nodded at him "You're right" he said "Next stop, The east police station!".
