Chapter 32 our destination
A/n: ok, Since this chapter is too long for fanfiction to handle, I have to split it into a separate chapter. I'll make another chapter as soon as possible, I'm sorry.
The group was making there way to the east police station killing 'Them' along the way.
"Don't you guys know when to quit!?" Kaz said as he slashed down one of 'Them', Ross killed another undead after him.
"The more I look at all of you, The more I want to kill you all even more!" Ross said, Saya came to his side as she hit one of 'Them'. "I hate persistent bastereds like these!" She said, Saeko nodded at her "As do I" she said as she killed one of 'Them'.
Alice looked over at Shizuka.
"Do you hate people like that too, Mrs. Shizuka?" Alice asked, Shizuka smirked.
"Well not always, Sometimes persistence is attractive" she said, Kohta and Asami looked at her.
"How did we get to that subject?" Asami said, Kohta just scratched the back of his head. "You're guess is as good as mine" he said. The group kept moving until Zeke spotted something from the distance, Takashi looked at him.
"What is boy?" He asked him, Zeke then started running as they all followed him. The group then stopped as they had reached the east police station, But something was very wrong.
"What's going on!? We heard gunshots earlier!" Rei said, Takashi just looked at the abandoned area.
"I was prepared for the worst, But I wasn't prepared for this" he said, Rei looked at him "what do you mean you were prepared for the worst!?" She asked him. Takashi didn't say anything.
"What!? Why aren't you saying anything!?" Rei said.
Takashi sighed as he glanced at Rei.
"Can you try to calm down a bit so we can talk?" He asked, Rei just kept yelling at him.
"How do you expect me to clam down at a time like this!? This is were my dad was supposed to be, But now he might be...". "Do you think I don't know how serious this is?" Takashi said, Rei just looked at him as she was about to cry again until Ross held her gently, Rei held onto him as tight as she could. Saya then added into the conversation.
"Do you mind if I butt in?" She said "There are tire tracks on in the parking lot and on the road around here".
"So you're saying a lot of cars took off in a hurry?" Saeko said.
"They probably left before the Em Empee or whatever it was called" Shizuka said.
"Um, Uh. But it's possible that they had older cars here that didn't have electronics in them" Kohta said. Saya nodded in response, "Whatever the case they were out of here before we left the shopping mall" she said. Alice then looked over at Ross.
"So everyone's gone?" She said, Ross tapped his foot "We don't know little one, We need to get in and find out" he said.
-the east police station-
The group had walked inside the police station to see it ruins, Kohta quickly closed the doors in case 'They' came inside.
"It looks like all the other entrances are closed" Saya said, Kaz looked around the area.
"So why was this one open?" He said. Rei then saw some blood on the ground.
"There's a little blood on the floor here" she said "Maybe someone broke in after everyone else left", Saeko turned to Ross "So what's our next move?" She asked him. Ross looked at her "Let's try to find any ammo and weapons first, Then we'll see if we can find any leads on Rei's dad! That's all I got. Is there anything else we should keep in mind?" He said.
That's when Saya looked at him.
"Are you asking me to do the thinking for you?" Saya said, Ross smirked at her.
"A leader usually has staff to help him strategize" he said, Saya sighed as she looked at him "Well, You got me there..." She said. Ross smiled at her as he held her by her waist.
"Well, You did say that you wanted to do all the thinking" he said as he kissed her head, Saya blushed as she smiled a bit.
"You missed" she said, Ross just looked at her confused until she then grabbed his face and kissed him on the lips. The two kept kissing until they broke apart, Saya then walked away from him as she then looked at the map "Miyamoto. Do you know where they put the guns?" She asked.
Rei just pondered "They probably have a storeroom or something" she said as she turned to Kohta "Hey Kohta, You're into this kind of stuff, Right? Do you know where they'd put the weapons?". Kohta smiled brightly.
"Um, It would have to be somewhere that's easy to get to when they're dispatched. So I bet it's on the first floor. It'll probably be labeled as an armory" he said, Saya nodded to herself.
"Then let's search this floor!" She said.
Takashi just looked at her.
"Why don't we just find it on the map or something!?" He said. Saya looked at him "Do you really think the police are stupid enough to point out where they keep all their weapons to every schmuck who comes off the street!?" She said.
"Looks like they don't have a description for the room in the back on the left side" Saeko said, Ross looked over at Kohta "Hirano, Keep an eye out behind us!" He said. Kohta nodded at him as they all walked down the hall.
Saeko looked around the room.
"I don't see any evidence that there was a struggle here...you don't suppose there are still people inside, Do you?" She asked Ross. "It seems like a lot of the police have been trying to help people outside. So I'm not sure" he said.
"Actually, There were some special forces here that mainly just helped out airport security, So they might be okay" Saeko said, Just then Zeke then started growling. The two then saw two of 'Them' coming out of the bathroom, The two then stabbed them as they both smiled.
"These must be the people who broke in after this place was abandoned" Ross said "It looks like a couple that tried to treat themselves after they got bitten by them...at least they were together to the end".
"A couple?" Saeko said.
Ross nodded at her as he pointed at the cell phone that had a picture of them on the front, Rei walked over to Ross.
"Hey Ross!" She said.
"Yeah?".
"I just realized that the gun room is probably locked I bet only the people in charge could get in".
Ross then activated his lightning.
"We'll find some way in. We'll break the door down if we have to" he said, The group walked down the hall until they saw a door with a lock on it.
"Here it is" Kaz said as he tried to open the door "It's locked all right. It looks like it needs a passcode" he said, Takashi held up his shotgun "I'll just have to blast it open then" he said.
Kohta then stopped him.
"Stop! It'd take too many shots to do that" he said, Asami added in "And what if a shot ricocheted and hit one of us? Asami said. Takashi rubbed his head.
"Try shooting the hinges...ugh, Never mind. I doubt we'd be able to get this door off even with breaching rounds" he said, Asami looked at Kohta "Hmm, What should we do?" She asked.
Kohta pondered a bit in thought "It looks like the lock is power outage proof, But the Emp probably blew it out...oh, I know! Does anyone know the last time they renovated this station?" He asked Rei.
"It was when my dad got transferred here...so I guess around when we were in kindergarten?" She said, Kohta started grinning, Saya noticed his grin as she then went into the bag that they had.
"In that case, It's probably not drill proof" Saya said as she pulled out the crank drill "You know all about breaking and entering too, Huh?".
Kohta smiled as she handed him the drill.
"This knowledge is highly relevant to covert operations!" He said.
-a few minutes latter-
"I...I did it..." Kohta said as he heavily panted, Asami and Alice were amazed.
"Wow Kohta that was incredible!" Asami said, Alice smiled brightly "Wow Kohta you're amazing" she said. That's when Zeke started barking at the steps getting everyone's attention. They saw a person walking down the stairs, Only to reveal that it was an undead.
"Officer kato..." Rei said, Kaz ran at the undead officer as he pulled out his katana "Looks like he was trying to commit suicide after he got bit" he said. Kaz then stabbed him in the head killing him, That's when another undead came on his right side.
"I'll take care of this one! Hurry up inside!" He said, Takashi nodded at his friend as he opened the door. However everything that was inside was gone. Kohta, Asami, And Saya ran inside to see.
"What the? There's nothing left..." Kohta said.
"B-but how can that be...?" Asami said.
Saya started shouting.
"Of course! Police were deployed throughout the city so of course they'd take their weapons! God dammit! Why didn't I realize that sooner!?".
Takashi looked at her "We're done in here then! Saya, Where do you think we might find some information?" He asked her, Kohta and Asami both looked at him "N-no wait! We might be able to find something" they said in unison. Kaz then called them.
"We need to hurry. We don't want to sit around waiting to be ambushed by them!" He said. Asami then spoke up.
"What about the evidence storage room!? She said "That's were they should keep illegal stuff! That might include guns! It's not police equipment so if they had any there's a chance they're still there", Rei nodded at her.
"That's on the third floor! I remember seeing it when I was in middle school! I did see guns in there back then!" She said. Ross smiled at her "Then we're going up. Don't forget the drill!" He said as they all went upstairs.
