Chapter 34 moving out
Kaz and Takashi caught up with the group as they all made there way down the hall.
"Ok, Where to next Saya!?" Kaz asked her.
Saya looked over at Rei "Miyamoto, Do you know where the communications office is?" She asked her, Rei nodded at her question.
"Yeah, The top floor!" She said.
"Perfect! Then let's get moving!" Ross said as they made there way to the top floor.
-the top floor-
The gang had killed all of 'Them' that were all over the top floor hallway with little trouble, Ross ran to the door as he aimed his railgun as he looked inside the room.
"Clear!" He said, The others made there way to him.
"There aren't any of 'Them' behind us!" Saya said "We may have cleaned the station out already, But stay on alert". Everyone walked inside the communication office as they looked for something that would help find Rei's father.
"Looks like everything's out in here too" Ross said.
"I don't think the police were prepared for an E.M.P" Yuuki said. That's when Alice pointed at one of the monitors.
"That computer over there is on" she said, Saya quickly ran over there as she looked over the computer. "The J-alert system is still working!" She said, Takashi pondered a bit "J-Jay-alert...? What's that?" He asked.
"J-alert! Japan's national wide emergency warning system!" Kohta said, Asami smiled at Kohta for know that.
"What does that do?" Shizuka asked.
"It's an automated satellite based system made to alert and provide information to citizens in the case of emergencies like earthquakes or missile strikes. It's E.M.P proof!" Kaz said, "But where is it getting it's electricity? Is there a nearby power plant that's still working?" Saeko said.
Saya quickly got everyone's attention.
"Inconceivable!" She said "It's probably running on back-up battery power. The machine's on alert so it must last pretty long". Shizuka then thought of something "Oh, Like they have in hospitals" she said.
Rei sat in a chair as she watched Saya "Do you know what you're doing?" She asked her, Saya started losing her temper.
"This was designed to be so simple that even a child could use it! AARRRGH!".
Ross walked over to her "What's wrong Saya?" He said, Saya had an embarrassing expression on her face "There's too much stuff in here that we don't care about. I can't find the search function!" She said. As Ross and Saya were talking Alice looked at the computer and pressed one of the buttons.
Saya quickly glared at her.
"What do you think you're doing, You stupid munchkin!?" She said, Alice looked up at her "I couldn't help it" she said. Ross then placed his hand on her head "Hey now it's ok" he said "When you see a button it's your natural indination to push it" he said.
Alice smiled at Ross as she hugged him, That's when the computer started to show something.
"Christ...hey" Saya said as she looked at the computer, Alice leaned over to her.
"What now?" She said, Saya then placed her hand on her head "Nice going munchkin!" She said. That's when she felt Ross's hand over her's as she quickly glanced at him then at her hand. The two looked away from each other blushing.
'He...he'd make a great father' she thought as she then went back to the matter at hand. Ross then spoke up "Saya?" He said.
"The SDF is implementing an evacuation of Tokonosu" she said.
"Evacuation? It's not back up?" Takashi said.
"You've seen how bad things are around here. The only choice they have is to get the survivors out of here!" Saya said, Kaz pondered a bit.
"That does make sense" he said "So what's their plan, Saya?".
Saya looked over at Kaz "L'LL explain once we get out of here" she said, The group then ran out of the room and down the stairs. "The operation is taking place for only several hours the afternoon of the day after tomorrow! They're stretched tight as it is, So that's all they can manage!" Saya said.
"Where are they doing it?" Ross asked.
Saya stopped running as she turned to Ross.
"Shintoko third elementary school" she said.
Takashi and the others were in shock, Saeko smirked "That's where Takashi's mother is supposed to be, Isn't it?" She said. Ross nodded at her "Talk about luck" he said.
That's when Rei started shouting.
"Hold on! What about my parents!?". Saeko placed her hand on her sword "If I remember correctly I told you some time ago that all I want is to be useful" she said "As a daughter of the Busujima family...I intended to be true to my word".
Rei just stared at her until Ross placed his hand on her shoulder "Rei, Your dad comes first. Do you know where he might be!?" He asked her. Rei looked at Ross as she had a small blush on her cheeks "Uh, Ah...yeah!" She said as she ran forward down the hall "This way! It's on this floor!" She said.
The group made there way to another door that was labeled public safety division, "Here!" Rei said as she slammed the door open "Dad!". However what she saw was nothing more than an empty mess.
Rei was in shock "There's...no one here..." She said, Ross walked over to her and placed his hand on her shoulder "Saeko, Can you keep on the lookout?" He asked her. "Hun...I'm not the one you need to worry about right now" she said, Ross understood as he looked at The others "Let's see if we can find anything. Kaz, Saya, Kohta, Asami, You help too".
The four of them nodded as they scattered around the room, "None of the computers are working!" Asami said. Kohta looked at her "Huh? That's strange" he said, Kaz nodded in agreement "Yeah that is very strange" he said. Rei walked over to her father's desk as she saw a picture of her an her mother. Ross was worried for Rei as he looked at Saya "Did you find something, Saya?" He asked.
Saya was looking at a book "Looks like a guide to helping survivors, But it was written in a hurry" she said, Ross then glanced at Rei who had tears in her eyes. Ross's eyes went bright yellow as he gritted his teeth and flipped one of the desks over.
"Dammit! Where the hell is he!?" He said in anger, Shizuka then called out to him.
"Oh hey, Is this something?" She said, She then flipped a chalkboard over as it showed someone's handwriting that said 'All survivors to the Shintoko third elementary school'.
"That handwriting...it's my dad's!" Rei said as she hugged Ross as tight as she could "Thank god! I'm so happy! Hikatori! My dad! My dad's alive!", Ross patted her head as he glanced at everyone. Everyone didn't say anything as they just watched the event unfold, Saya looked away from them.
"Hm? You okay Saya?" Kaz asked her, Saya huffed as she kept looking away "Don't worry, I'm not gonna try to kill the mood this time!" She said as she then turned around and aimed her gun that her mother gave her at Kaz's helmet "But this!" She said.
Kaz just sighed under his helmet "It's gonna deflect you know" he said, Saya shook her head at him "I haven't fired this once because I don't want to make any loud noise...but Even if I did I don't think I'd be much use! Lately I feel like I've been useless, And I don't like it!" She said.
Kaz then took off his helmet "It's not like I can shoot much either, Though" he said, Saya looked away from him "You fight in your own way!" She said "But it's not just you, Kohta and Ross have been fighting in there own way as well. I've been watching the three of you! That get your attention!?".
Kaz just looked at her as she spoke again.
"I want to fight too! Like the three of you, not just sit and watch from the sidelines! What good am I to my husband if I don't fight alongside him!?". Kaz then pulled out the MP5 out of his bag.
"Then you should use this. The MP5 series actually recoils shortly after the first shot has been fired. It should be perfect for aiming at close range. This is is the only semi-automatic, So you won't have any trouble hitting your mark!" Kaz said as he handed Saya the gun.
"Kaz..." Saya said, Kaz only smirked at her. That's when Kohta added into the conversation.
"Just don't rely too much on the suppressor. I mean, Silencer. The bullets aren't subsonic so they'll still make sound as you shoot and you'll still attract the attention of 'Them'" he said, Saya looked over at Kohta. "Alright" she said as she gave him her handgun.
"Wha!?".
"You can hold onto that! But I'll kill ya if you lose it!" Saya said, Kohta gave her a salute "Yes ma'am!" He said. Asami then wrapped her arms around Kohta and hugged him.
"That was very nice of you Saya" she said, Saya just waved her hand at her "Meh, It's nothing" she said.
Ross then walked over to them "You guys ready to go?" He asked "Rei's dad is probably at Shintoko third elementary. And Takashi's mom should be there too! The SDF's evacuation operation is two days from now. We only have two things to do right now. First is to go to Rei's house and see if we can find her mom! Then we'll make our way to Shintoko third elementary school! And after that, We'll go find Tsumetai Hikatori!" Everyone nodded at him.
"So, If everyone's clear, Let's get out of here!" Ross said, That's when he glanced down to see Zeke using him as a pole.
"Gah! The hell Zeke! I'm 100% lightning, I don't wanna get electrocuted!" He said. Alice just picked him up "Bad dog, Zeke! Angel is not a pole!" She said. Zeke just barked in joy. Everyone just laughed, Ross sighed as he smiled "Hehe, Maybe I'm not cut out for this after all" he said.
"No, You're perfectly suited for it, Ross" Saeko said, Rei agreed with her "I don't think we could have asked for anyone better!" She said.
Ross smiled at everyone.
"Thanks, That means a lot" he said.
The gang ran outside as they checked to see any of 'Them', So far the coast was clear.
"There's no sign of life..." Rei said. Saeko looked at the sky "Looks like the weather's getting gloomy" she said.
"Are there any convenience stores nearby? We're gonna want some ponchos if it starts raining" Yuuki said.
Ross glanced up at the sky "Good thing I can turn off my powers" he said, Takashi nodded at him "Yeah good thing, It looks like it could raining any minute" he said. Rei then tapped on Ross's shoulder.
"Hm? What's up Rei?".
"I think there's a convenience store up ahead".
Ross smiled at her as he turned to the group "All right then! Let's get moving!" He said.

The undead were all over the streets, Trying there best to claim any victims. However, They were having no such luck whatsoever. But not to far away was a man and one of his only living followers as he was hiding out in an abandoned house that they had been in for over a day.
"Well now, It looks like they haven't found us" Shido said as he was looking out the window, Taniuchi was sitting on the floor as she was looking at her teacher "Do you think anyone will find us?" She asked.
Shido turned to her and sighed.
"I'm not sure my dear" he said "But know this, I will keep you safe from all harm. For you are my only angel in this undead nightmare that is chosen to lead for the new world!" He said. Taniuchi smiled brightly at her teacher.
"Oh Shido!" She said, Shido smiled at her until he heard a noise outside, "Hm?" He said as he looked outside.
"What's wrong?" Taniuchi asked.
Shido quickly walked to the door.
"I thought I might have seen someone" he said "Don't worry. I shall go and investigate!" He said, Taniuchi just looked at him "Be careful teacher" she said worryingly. Shido showed her his wicked smile as he walked out into the rain.
Shido made sure to not be caught by 'Them' as he made his way to the person that he saw.
"This could be my chance to earn some now followers under my will" he said to himself, He the. Spotted the person as he quickly ran to him.
"Ah you poor boy! You must be so tired" he said "Here let me hel-", Shido stopped talking as he looked at the boy's face. Who he saw was none other than Reikokuna badly wounded from his defeat by Ross and his friends.
"You!" Shido said darkly, Reikokuna used his fire seal sword to help him stand up.
"Ah...Shido, So good of you to help me..." Reikokuna said, Shido quickly kicked Reikokuna to the ground "Help you!? Not on your life! You're that devil child Hikatori's brother!" He said "Why in the world would I help someone like you that used me!?".
Reikokuna held out his hand to Shido.
"Please..." He said "I know what I did was wrong, I had no right to betray someone as worthy as you lord Shido...if you help me. I'll gladly give my life to you". Shido just looked at him, He was really going to give himself up to Shido.
"Do you truly mean that?" Shido asked him.
Reikokuna nodded.
"Yes...I mean every word, Please...help me..." He said, Shido just looked at him for a bit as he then helped Reikokuna to his knees.
"Very well then, You shall forever serve under me" Shido said, Reikokuna smiled a bit.
"Oh thank you so much lord Shido..." He said, That's when he stabbed Shido right through the chest. Shido yelled in pain.
"Aaarrrghh!".
Reikokuna smiled darkly at him.
"Hehehe, Thank you for being so blind. Shido" he said as he then ripped out his heart, Killing him instantly. He then stomped on his skull breaking it to pieces, Reikokuna gritted his teeth in pain.
"Damn my brother!" He said "I'll have to find a place to rest until I'm healed". He then started to track someone's heat as he then saw a trail that lead to the abandoned house. Reikokuna slowly made his way to the house.
Taniuchi was sitting on the floor as she waited for Shido to return, "Please come back teacher" she said. That's when she heard the door open as she quickly ran to the door.
"Teacher!" Taniuchi cried, But she was greeted by someone else. Reikokuna stood at the doorway as he panted.
"Hey...Taniuchi..." He said in a weak tone, Taniuchi smiled brightly as she held onto her lover. "Reikokuna!" she said as she brought him inside. She laid him on the floor as she tended his wounds.
"I missed you so much! I thought that you were dead" she said, Reikokuna placed his hand on her cheek as he kissed her. "Well d-don't worry...I can't die that easily" he said, Taniuchi then realized something.
"Where's Shido?" She asked him, Reikokuna had a false sad expression on his face "He's gone" he said "He risked his life to save me, He told me to run as far as I could to safety". Taniuchi then started to cry into Reikokuna's chest at the loss of her hero.
"Teacher..." She whimpered, Reikokuna gently brushed her hair "Shhh, It's alright love. He died a hero, But now it's my turn to be your hero" he said. Taniuchi glanced up at Reikokuna as he wiped her tears away.
"Reikokuna..." She said.
Reikokuna then took off her glasses and placed them on the table, He then undid her hair as he then started to take off his outfit showing his toned body, Taniuchi then started to blush as she took off her shirt as well.
"I love you Reikokuna, So much" Taniuchi said as she held him gently, Reikokuna wrapped his arms around her waist.
"As do I, Taniuchi" he said as they then kissed passionately.
