Hey idk if its been a while. I kinda lost track of time and which stories I updated and but I figured it had to have been at least 2 weeks because I just got a review of someone asking for an update. Please, I get lost in my life, so just tell me its been a while and it will snap me back to working! Anyways, here!
It had been a month since his little arrangement with the FBI had started, and Neal had become very popular at school. Granted, his teachers still treated him like he barely existed, but they graded his work fairly. There had to be one benefit about having an FBI agent as his legal guardian. But the students, mainly the girls, had flocked to the young man since his first day.
His looks had first peaked the girls interests, but it was his brains and his skills in his Art class that really got their attention. The boys didn't like him at first, but with Neal's charming personality, he made friends with them after the fifth time they tried to shove him in the locker. Plus, he wasn't that bad at sports, so there was something to bond over. Everyone loved him, except one girl.
"Hey Sarah." Neal said smoothly, slipping into his desk in Honors English. The red headed girl who sat next to him barely glanced his way, just long enough to roll her eyes.
"Neal." She said shortly. Neal chuckled. No matter what he did, he couldn't get her to speak to him long enough to prove that he was really a nice guy.
"So, who are you going to pair up with for this project?" Neal said casually. Truth was, he wanted to pair with her. Not to make her one of his many fangirls, but because Sarah was similar to him. She was smart, focuses on her goals, and took school seriously. If Neal was to pair up with any other girl in class, as he did two weeks ago, they wouldn't do anything and would try to make a move on him. If Neal paired up with a boy, as he did last week, he would be used to get girl's numbers. No, he wanted to do this project with a serious partner.
"It doesn't matter what I want because out teacher already assigned partners." Sarah said simply. Neal smirked. He knew that.
"That's right! Well, hopefully you and I get paired together." Neal said, leaning over and whispering to her.
Sarah recoiled in disgust. "You have a 1/23 chance to be my partner. The odds are not in your favor."
Neal just shrugged and focused on the teacher who had just entered the room. He enjoyed the look of pure disbelief in Sarah's eyes when she found out they were partnered together. And when the bell rang, Neal enjoyed sauntering up to Sarah's locker and just smirking at her.
"I don't know what you did Caffery, but my grade will not be jeopardized by you." Sarah said angrily. "So you will meet me in the library after school to discuss the project. Then, we do this my way."
"I can't today. How about tomorrow?" Neal asked. He really couldn't today. Peter told him that if he wanted to make plans with people after school, he needed at least a 12 hour heads up. There was only one more period left until school ended.
"What you got a date?" Sarah asked sarcastically.
"Nope. Work. So see you tomorrow!" Neal said, hurrying off to his next class.

"Hey Peter, we got a good one." Jones said at work at the same time that Neal was making plans with Sarah. Peter looked up from his desk at his friend.
"What's up?" Peter asked, putting down his pen. He glanced at the clock. He should be heading out to get Neal soon.
"Some one reported a theft at a private home." Jones announced. "Two people were hurt and a little girl has been kidnapped. Also, a family portrait was stolen."
"So they want us to find the painting, I assume." Peter said, taking the case file from Jones. White Collar didn't deal with the violent cases, so they were probably just handling the art part.
"Not exactly. The kidnapper has already called in his demands." Jones said, putting his hands on his hips and looking at Peter like he didn't want to finish his sentence.
"What is it?" Peter looked at his friend nervously.
"Neal has to work this case."
Okay I know short one but I'm hoping to get another one up soon. Like tonight or tomorrow soon.
