34. Serenity
Like any new parent, Vivi's mind trickled with doubts when she learned she was going to be a mother. Those doubts only escalated with the months, until they finally exploded into hysteria. In all of her centuries living in a hut, she had never taken care of anything bigger than a bird! How was she to raise a baby?
But when Vivi held her daughter for the first time, and saw her own sunset eyes gazing back, all uncertainties disappeared from her mind until only serenity was left.
Kasey breathed in Vivi's ear, "She needs a name."
"Serene," she whispered.
I have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot more of baby Serene in the future…
