Hey guys! You guys are doing really good with reviews and comments because I got six for the last chapter which is awesome but I want 15 so we need 9 more for it to be continued. Now, if its close then yeah of course I'll still make it so basically it needs to be over 10 which would only be 4 reviews and comments. Does that make sense? Lol but the things you guys say was awesome and made me really happy to write this story! :D this chapter was supposed to be the final chapter but its up to you so we will see huh? Well anyway, thanks for reading the story and giving me support the whole way through. Here's the chapter!
Ch. 35
It was happening again. The two Titans were in the ever-lasting brawl that didn't seem to end. Frankly, I was fucking tired of it. Tired of all of this shit that has happened to us. Us as humans deserve better than having to worry every day of whether we will live another day to fight. We were in a never ending war with guns blazing. Thousands upon thousands have died for our cause, and for what? Freedom? We will never have freedom; that I can tell you. I've refused to believe that this whole time but now that I see Eren risking his life to fight what might be the biggest threat yet, it's created a clear image in my mind. Mikasa used to tell me,
'The world is a cruel place...don't you ever forget that.'
And she couldn't have been more right. However, even the cruelest place on earth has some sort of salvation in which humanity can reach. That salvation being Eren right now. My eyes sparkled with every punch that connected with the flesh of Annie's face. Annie and I; we used to be friends back in the camp. We never sparred each other because we knew that fight would last for days with both of us killing over due to hunger and thirst, but not because the one of us had beaten the other. But she kicked Eren's ass every time. It was hilarious to see him fall on his face every time they confronted each other.
"Now look at you..."
I whispered to myself as Eren gave her another solid punch to her female Titan form. This wasn't Annie kicking his ass anymore, but the other way around. He had more emotion, more determination, more people he cared about then Annie and that's what gave him this edge. It was like he had more control of the situation in hand. I found myself running after the two fighters as they ran in the direction of the wall. But I stopped when my head starting to hurt again. Mikasa knew exactly what was happening because I had told her the night before when I crossed her in the hall. She grabbed my shoulders and I let myself fall in her arms as my sight begin to blink. A sudden urge made me look at the holy church to my right.
"T-the church..."
I murmured. It was there one second and then in pieces the next. People burned in agony as they died in pools of blood. Beside us, a few soldiers jumped to the church roof to get a better look at the Titan fighting. Mikasa's eyes went wide and she stepped forward.
"No! Don't go near the church!"
She yelled at them. They turned their heads at the two of us and swung to the building right before the church. They jumped back to us just in time before Annie's form crashed into the church; blowing it to flaming pieces. The candles of the holy place dropped to the ground and their fire spreaded like water in a bowl. There was no way I could save the people inside the church but the fact that my vision saved a few soldiers was mind-blowing.
"Holy shit! How did you know that!?"
"Yeah, we would've been totally fucked if you hadn't told us!"
They yelled in our direction. I stood up and wiped some blood that had flowed from my nose. Mikasa held me steady and wiped the red liquid from my skin.
"Are you okay Robina?"
"Yes, I'm fine. Thank you for helping me Mikasa. But we need to keep going. Maybe we can save a few more lives along the way while Eren defends us."
I said as I looked into her blackish-brown eyes. She nodded and lifted her head to look at the two Titans ahead.
"It's amazing isn't it? That this is even happening right now. If we beat her, we might be able to gain more crucial knowledge on the Titans."
Mikasa exclaimed as we ran to the end of the building and jumped to the next. Annie stared at Eren wide-eyed for a second before getting up ever so quickly and making a dash for the fifty-meter high wall. Eren rose his jaw in the air and roared as if to say, 'we won't take this anymore and we're fighting back now!' He then crouched into a running-track stance and ran after it with a blinding speed that would bring many quick things in existence to shame.
"This isn't good. Annie's headed toward an open area; which means we can't use our gear to help Eren if he needs it. Plus, just his determination won't be enough, he needs to truly feel his power within him if he wants to succeed..."
Armin stated as he ran beside us. I hated to admit it but he was right. Not helping Eren would be a nightmare to me. I want to be as useful to him as he is to me. But there is one question that still needs to be answered...How can I, a normal human or at least semi-normal human, be useful to someone like Eren?
"Well we need to make sure that doesn't happen, huh?"
Hanji suddenly said behind me. She turned to the few soldiers beside us and waved her hand at them.
"Alright fellas, split and go from the other side! We can't afford to let this one get away again!"
She said as they followed her order. I felt somehow relieved when they left. It was like I felt cornered by them in some way. I don't know why but my mind felt more free with less bodies around me. And then it hit me; the way I could be useful. I looked down at the Stohess District streets to see people running to where they thought was safety. If my visions kicked in like I wanted to, maybe I could safe a person before something bad happens to them. And the people that I can already see, I can bring them to safety as well. I loosened some gas in my tank and flew ahead of the others.
"R-Robina!"
Mikasa yelled as she tried to grab me. I, however, was too fast and was already down in the streets. Down here, the Earth shook with unbelievable force as the two giants ran after each other. I swung close to their stomping feet and zoomed past to safe a couple of kids who had unluckily found themselves in that unfortunate spot. I barely managed to grab a hold of the two children and jump to safety. The wind of the Titans blew my hear in their direction as I set the kids down.
"T-Thank you so much!"
They both said in unison. I smiled and nodded before I used my gear to zip through the streets once more. If I kept doing that, the kill count would decrease sufficiently, and that's exactly what I did. I saved a few at a time, making sure I didn't get in the way of Eren and Annie. Every now and then, my head would start to spin and I would get a very quick vision of a group of people ahead about to be crushed. I was using A LOT of gas right now but if it meant saving lives then it was worth it. Using my gear, I flew ahead of them to the group of people who were hiding behind a cement wall.
"Listen! Everyone run to your left, right now!"
I screamed. They wasted no time in listening to me and did as I commanded. A few seconds later and the two Titans ran through the wall; just like I had predicted. The people's faces showed relief and amazement as they looked at me with tears in their eyes. The reason being that most of them had their children with them.
"God bless you! Great blond girl!"
They screamed in happiness. I gave them the official salute and went off like a bullet once again. I flew beside Eren and he glanced at me as he ran after the blond assassin. The look he gave me showed that he was relieved to see that I was always by his side. I nodded at him and he seemed to run faster out of confidence. Knowing that she couldn't run anymore, Annie suddenly stopped and turned around with a glare at the two of us. Her crystal-blue eyes found me and shook with desperation. I stepped back a few steps when Eren held a hand in front of me and stepped in-between her and myself. Even in half-consciousness, he never failed to protect me.
"Charge Eren, charge!"
I yelled as he looked at me. He did exactly that and Annie was forced to bring up a defensive stance. Thinking that he would punch her again, she swung her leg at him. But he saw it coming before she even performed the counter-attack and swung her into a nearby building with the grab of her leg. The building, of course, was destroyed in the process. Hanji landed next to me and I jumped in surprise.
"Damn, your jumpy! He's doing great out there. And don't think he'll destroy the town; this is all part of Commander Erwin's plan."
She said as she lifted her glasses on the bridge of her nose. I turned to her fully and caught my breath I hadn't realized I was holding in.
"Speaking of which, where is he!? Where's Levi!? You would think they would both be here by now!"
I yelled to her. The surrounding sound around us was loud enough to where we had to yell at each other just to hear. She shrugged her shoulders at me and smirked.
"I don't know but they better get their asses here before something bad happens! That, or the Capital probably has them in containment for the whole 'fake Eren' thing! Oh! And nice saving the civilians by the way!"
She screamed with a grin. I couldn't help but smile back at her. Looking back at the fight, the two were trading fists like there was no tomorrow. And in this case, they might be right. Armin finally reached Hanji and I, along with a few other soldiers, and laid his hands on his knees in exhaustion.
"Damn, those two are fast! I'm worried though..."
He said to me. I tilted my head at him and he pointed at the two fighting. I turned around to see Annie harden her fist, like she would the nape of her neck, and punched Eren; making one of his limbs tear off. I covered my mouth as I gasped and continued to watch her punch him painfully.
"Eren! No!"
I screamed as I started running forward. A hand took hold of my collar and I was brought back to meet Mikasa's eyes looking at me.
"Don't worry, he'll heal and get back to her. You and I have to make sure she doesn't make it over that wall."
She said calmly as she tilted her head at Annie, who was running away again. The cowardly bitch...I sighed slowly to calm myself down and nodded in agreement. She gave me a soft smile and grabbed my hand; making the both of us fly through the air again. As she said, Eren was back on his feet and running at Annie again; his body shoving smoke out of his regenerating veins. He had so much courage and determination for one person. It almost made me jealous but then I realized I could be that way too if I tried hard enough.
"Mikasa, bring us to the wall! Hurry!"
I said as a feeling hit my brain like a jolt of lightning. It wasn't a vision this time, just an instinct. Sue nodded as she sped up. Ahead, Eren dived and took Annie to the ground by the tug of her ankle. She clawed at the dirt in front of her but he just kept grabbing at her; pulling her back to him. She turned around and kicked his face until he had no choice but to let go. Each kick made my eyes want to water but I had to be strong right now! Annie used the quick opportunity to jump to her feet and start the journey up the wall. I could practically hear Mikasa grin her teeth as we made our way over to her. Armin was on a building a few yards behind us and I heard his nervous shouting.
"She's going to get over the wall!"
He yelled in fear. Mikasa shakes her head and looks at me with a glare.
"Alright Robina! You take her left hand, I'll take her right! Let's get this bitch once and for all!"
She screamed. I nodded and flew away from her grip on my hand. If I was correct, she wanted me to cut her fingers off. That way, she wouldn't be able to climb the wall. I twirl my body as I angle myself to her left hand. Annie's pupils go big as she sees me and then widen when she sees Mikasa on the other side of her.
"Take this you fucking bitch!"
I screamed as I cut all five of her fingers from the rest of her hand. Mikasa copied my action perfectly and Annie seemed too surprised to scream. We both land on her face and I glare in her eyes as they find mine.
"And thus the bird loses its wings..."
I say to her as she falls to the ground below. Her face shows shock and fear as she falls slowly to the ground again. She reaches her arms for us but even she isn't stronger than the force of gravity.
"Fall...fucking bitch..."
I hear Mikasa murmur aloud. Annie hits the ground with a puff of smoke surrounding her like the mist in the morning. Mikasa and I look up to see Eren screaming at her as he jumps on top of her again. He began punching her in the face with no mercy present and there was another emotion coming from him. What was it? A menacing kill kind of emotion? He screamed during every punch, during every time his fist was brought down to her face. Her head began to cave in by his massacring force and my eyes widened to see that wasn't going to stop anytime soon. One of his fist even tore off at how hard he was hitting her.
"He's letting all of his anger out in one time. Everything that he has bottled up since his mother died..."
I said slowly and softly. Mikasa turned to me and nodded.
"I believe that as well. I just hope he doesn't kill Annie in the process. If that happen, this whole thing would have been for nothing..."
She replied as we continued to watch the horrifying scene in front of us. Eren turned Annie's destroyed body around and brought his mouth to her neck; biting it like it was another piece of bread. He lifted his mouth to reveal Annie's human form stuck up from her body. I stepped forward slightly to make him stop what he was doing but knew it wouldn't work.
"Eren!"
I screamed at the top of my lungs. He was moving his mouth toward her again but stopped as soon as I screamed after him. I blinked a couple of times in the moment of silence. All that was heard was the soft breeze blowing the trees just outside the enormous wall. But Annie interrupted that silence by doing something that no one could understand. Her body was being encased inside a life-sized crystal that seemed to protect her. When it fully covered her, Eren's Titan did something weird next to her. It was like they were merging into each other.
"Oh my God, we have to get him before-"
I stopped her before she could finish her sentence.
"No need..."
I said as Levi zoomed past Eren's body; cutting him out and grabbing him by the shoulders. I don't know why, but I felt my eyes water at the sight of Eren's well-being. The fact that he was alright was enough for me. Annie was the scouts problem now. Levi used his gear to fly to us and I ran to take Eren from him.
"Thank you Levi, thank you..."
I whispered as I brought my soul mate into a hug. He still felt warm from his hot-blooded fight but I didn't mind. His eyes slowly opened to look at me and his first question was obvious.
"W-where's Annie...?"
I gave him a grim look and tilted my head towards her. Jean had reached her crystallized body and tried to break through it but to no use. Levi sighed deeply and waved his hand at him.
"Stop, you're just wasting your energy."
He said to Jean. Jean looked at us and then at the ground with a curse word or two emitting from his lips. He walked over to us and Armin did as well. They didn't say anything but they didn't have to; you could see what they were saying just by their countenance. Eren looked at me before moaning softly and closing his eyes. Levi sighed once again and kneeled down next to Eren and I.
"Come on, let's get him to a room and let him rest."
Levi said with no emotion as usual. I nodded and let him pick up Eren again. Hanji stayed to secure Annie while the five of us left to make sure Eren was okay. We came to my room and set him on the bed slowly; being careful not to hurt him.
"I'll wrap his head."
Armin said as he grabbed the bandages he had brought. I grabbed the cotton balls and soaked them in alcohol before dabbing the little cuts Eren had gotten. I was glad that they would most likely heal and go away. Mikasa stood there and stared at her brother; her eyes watering slightly. Jean slowly reached his hand and rubbed her back comfortably. She didn't swipe hand away this time, but laid her head on his shoulder and wiped the tears from her eyes. Levi said nothing as he left us to tend to business matters about the whole situation.
"I'm so glad he's alright..."
Mikasa said, almost as if she was by herself. Armin stopped wrapping Eren's head and stood up with a blank expression.
"He'll be fine..."
As soon as he said that, Eren opened his eyes again and looked at us with narrowed eyes before he realized who we were. He sat up slowly and I helped him up; holding onto his hand. He looked down at his lap and sighed.
"So...Annie's still in that crystal...?"
He asked. Jean nodded and crossed his arms.
"I'm afraid so. What's even worse is that we got nothing from the operation. It was like it was all for nothing..."
He growled. Armin nodded and turned his back to us.
"That being because of you Eren."
I gave him a glare before I even comprehended that I did so. Why did Armin just say that? Eren shook his head and growled.
"It was like when I saw her I couldn't move. But it would've been a eternal failure if Robina hadn't stopped me from eating her. I don't know what happened...It was like I hated her so much and wanted to kill her for all that she's done. Thank you for stopping me..."
He said as he turned his head to me. I squeezed his hands softly and nodded with a soft smile.
Knock! Knock!
We turned our heads to see a soldier open the door and look at us with a serious face.
"Armin Arlert, Mikasa Ackerman, and Jean Kirstein; you three have been called for a hearing right now. And Captain Levi would like to have a word with you later, miss."
He said to me. Mikasa turned to Eren and started stuttering words but Jean stopped her. He lifted his hand in front of her and she slowly took it with some hesitation present. The three walked out leaving just me and Eren to talk. He looked at me and waited for words but they never came. I just stared at him with teary eyes.
"E-Eren..."
I said slowly before I brought him into a huge hug. I let my tears run free now and I was sobbing in his chest. He laid his hand on my back and gave me soothing words.
"Robina, I'm okay really. You don't have to worry."
I looked up into his eyes and shook my head.
"It's not just that! It's everything! Everything in this world seems to want to take you away from me and I'm so tired of it Eren. I just want you and nothing else but everything keeps conflicting with the two of us!"
I screamed in sadness. My tears were soaking into his shirt but he didn't care as he was forming his own tears. I continued.
"I'm sorry I let you get eaten back in Trost! I'm sorry I couldn't persuade the soldiers from firing at us! I'm sorry for letting the military police take you away from me! I'm sorry for not giving you any care at all when you were in that damn cell! I'm sorry I had to beat you during the trial and hurt you! I can't even believe that I would do that! What is wrong with me!?"
I screamed. He brought me in for a hug and shook his head.
"Robina...It's okay.."
"No it's not okay! I'm sorry for letting Annie get to you! What kind of person am I if I can't even protect the one I love!? I haven't done one single thing for you and you've protected me this whole time. I'm so useless Eren and I have no idea why!"
I sobbed as I cried even more. He sat up even more and looked me in the eyes again.
"Robina...You're the best thing that has ever happened to me. I don't give a shit about any of those things that has happened. I'm just glad to know you're safe and the whole thing about you being useless isn't true. Robina, you have given me your life more times than I can count and I love you so much for that. You have to know that I will never ever forget the moments that I have had with you but I will forget all of those things that you've just listed. You're my everything..."
He said softly as he gently pressed his lips to mine. I closed my eyes as our tears mixed together and ran down the sides of our cheeks. I rested my hands on his tan neck and brought us closer together. Eren wrapped his arms around my waist and we stayed like that for the longest time. We separated for air and he smiled at me as he laid his forehead against mine.
"And I've been thinking about that night; the night we gave ourselves to each other. Robina, if you are actually pregnant, I wouldn't mind one bit. I want to spend the rest of my life with you and having a family with you would bring me more joy than I've ever known..."
He said as he blushed from expressing his feelings. My eyes widened with the sudden remembrance of the day before. The shot my father gave me was still in my pocket; just waiting to be injected in my skin. I took it out and Eren looked at it in confusion.
"What's that?"
He asked me.
"My Dad gave me this when I met with him a couple of days ago. He said you Father made it for him when we visited Shiganshina, remember that?"
He nodded and I continued.
"It's a shot that can tell you whether you're pregnant or not."
I said as I gripped it in my hand. His eyes went big and he almost stood up.
"What!? How is that even possible!?"
He asked me. I shrugged with a slight laugh.
"I don't know. Your Dad was a genius. But I could use this right now in the bathroom...I mean, if you think it's the right time..."
I said slowly. His face showed joy and he gave me another loving kiss again.
"Go for it."
He said. I stood up from my sitting position next to him and nodded. He was nearly shaking with the newly found anticipation I had just given him. I turned to the bathroom that was in the room and walked in; closing the door softly as I stepped inside. I was shaking myself as I popped the cap off of the pregnancy shot. The needle was tiny but the liquid inside it was not. I lifted my shirt from my arm and held the needle in front of it. I breathed in slowly and out the same way.
"Here goes..."
I said as I pressed the shot in my skin and pushed the liquid into my blood stream. I laid the shot on the counter and just sat on the lid of the toilet. It would take a few minutes for the liquid to connect to my blood and travel to my bladder so I had to wait. These few minutes were the longest minutes I had ever witnessed in my life...When I counted five minutes I sighed and grabbed a long strip of toilet paper. I put it underneath myself and took off my panties before allowing myself to urinate on the strip of paper.
"Please...Please..."
I whispered as I lifted off the toilet. I turned around and lifted the toilet paper to see whether I was pregnant or not. My eyes saw the color of the toilet paper and I finally saw if I was going to have a baby or not...
And that is the end of the chapter! Yes, I know! You're pissed! But if you review and comment enough I will read the manga and continue the story instead of ending it here and then starting a sequel a few months later. But yep, this was the intended ending lol. I loved making this story but I think I loved making this chapter the most. It was so much fun to have you guys tell me what you though of my work and it made me happy to feel appreciated! Again, please review or comment and I will tell you if you guys made the cut. Thanks you so much for giving the story a read! See ya guys!
