Charles looked at Rachel disappointed, "I should have never let you all go without using cerebro"
As hard as she tried she knew Charles was inside her head. She didn't have to read his mind to know he was disappointed. Charles said, "You're feelings for him are that strong, you'd risk having Jean find out"
Rachel looked down and sighed, "It's not that simple" She knew she had made a mistake, but she didn't regret that night with Logan. "I guess something's are meant to be"
"I don't know the history you and him share in your time, Rachel, but with what you've shown me, I can't help but worry about Jean"
She knew Charles was right. "I know"
Charles sighed, "It's not that I don't trust you to keep it, it's Logan I'm worried about"
Rachel nodded, "I'll handle him"
Charles looked at her sideways,
She looked away reading him "What did you find on that blind telepath?" she asked changing the subject
"Nothing" he shrugged, "I've yet to locate her, which means she may be even more powerful than you"
Rachel looked away dreading the fact, "Have you ever known of any mutant that could block another telepaths powers, and even predict the future?"
"There are mutants out there that are known to be able to block others' powers, but predicting the future no" he was almost as stumped as Rachel,
"WE need to find the others ,Charles" Rachel pushed. "Staying here and waiting it out won't do us any good. Not with only Jubilee and Remy" she shrugged,
Charles knew Rachel was right, he sighed not wanting her to leave with a mutant out there that he couldn't locate. "Rachel, I'm sorry, but I can't risk putting my men in danger"
Rachel stood by the window and looked out into the garden, "I know, which is why if you just let me go, I could try and convince Jon, if I could try and talk to Eric…"
"My dear I don't know about Jon Starsmore, but I do know there is no persuading Eric"
You may not see it now, but I need to protect those who are with me now. Not those who will be around in the future.
Trying to shake him out of her head Rachel headed outside trying to think. It was peaceful out by the pond, there was a large tree that hung over the water that Rachel would sit by with her father.
"Rachel" she heard behind her. Logan had followed her out.
"It's too dangerous to go out when Magneto has someone who can block my telepathy and know what our move will be before we even make it" she pulled out the grass in frustration.
Logan leaned back looking around a little surprised he hadn't come out this far before. He focused on Rachel, "He's right though" it scared him knowing there was a mutant out there who could block out Rachel, he caught a glimpse of it already and it was enough for him
Rachel agreed to an extent as she tilted her head, "You once said that my team was the best team you had seen in your time here" she looked at him, "That Bishop, Angel, Dazzler, Jon and Jubilee, Remy and Rouge fought harder and more unified than anyone"
Logan looked away trying to come to grips with the memories she had shown him already. He wasn't doubting his feelings for Rachel, but he had to focus on the reality of his own time, not hers. Not when it would be changed now with her being here.
She read him looking at him still as he looked over at the pond. "I used to come here with my dad" she said, "A lot of the time when I'd be blowing up over something stupid" she said, Logan looked a little confused, "I held in a lot of anger in my teenage years, why we were different, that we had to live here, in hiding, and then when Jean started to lose control, her and I would come to blows"
He straightened, "Not physical blows" Rachel clarified, "When she started to slip she held in a lot of anger too, and when I would fight the fact that we should be accepted, that we were people too, she'd tell me otherwise, we'd also fight over control of our powers" she looked down
Logan ran his hand down her back listening, "She started to resent how powerful I was becoming" she shrugged, "When she was loosing her control, I was harnessing mine, getting stronger. I think part of her knew I what was going to happen in the end, and she knew I was the one who would put a stop to her"
"This isn't the future I thought would happen when I went back" Logan finally said
Rachel shrugged, "You told me Hank's theory, that a ripple effect is possible, but the current always will have a way to correct itself" she looked down at Logan, "It was that team that helped stop her, it wasn't just me, it was us" she held his hand
Logan stared at her hand before running his over his face, "Like I said I would fight for you"
Rachel tried to smile "You want to know the last time I came out here?"
He waited for her to answer looking around again. It was so peaceful here. "The last day I had with my dad" she said
Logan sat up and kissed her. "I promise you none of that will happen again" he held her face
She wanted to believe it, but she couldn't, not until the rest of her team were at the mansion.
It was the same dream she had every night, but this one was different as if someone was adding in pieces of information Rachel wouldn't have known. Pieces of Logan's past, Jean's, even Charles and Eric's. She shot awake You won't get to all of them in time
It was the mutant. She didn't know how, but she knew it was coming from the blind telepath. She knew she had at least try and find the others. So after she packed a bag she headed out into the hall but stopped knowing she had to tell Logan.
But she saw him there sleeping peacefully as he once did. Thinking for a moment, she had to go on alone. She couldn't put him in any more danger.
I can't stop you, but I won't let you risk the safety of this school.
Rachel looked out the window as she drove through the New York country side. "I know, I wouldn't do anything to put any of you in harms way" she said to herself.
She reached Manhattan later on that night sighing as she made it to the meat-packing district. The city was still very much alive given the hour. And Rachel knew what the crowds were anticipating to see as they entered the club.
She remembered back to when Alison first came on. And part of her was scared the drama it would bring on like it had before. But she pushed through it as she entered the club
The crowd was huge and the music was loud, Rachel tried to focus but couldn't hear Ali. She was terrified Eric would show up, but she felt this odd feeling that she shielded, Rachel hadn't felt it before.
She stopped at the bar noticing something she didn't expect.
"Warren?" Rachel called
Warren did hear Rachel as he sat at the bar staring at the stage. Rachel smiled certain something's weren't mean to change. Warren loved Ali, it was a shame though that she didn't feel the same way.
It wasn't long after Alison came out on stage and the crowd went wild.
She is so beautiful, how can I get her to notice me Rachel could hear Warren.
Ali smiled winkng to the crowd, as she began to sing. Light and sound filled the room, but there was no band, no sound tech. It was all Ali.
The crowd cheered, wooing her, and she loved every minute of it. Rachel looked around for anyone suspious. Anyone who might be magneto.
She watched Warren in awe as she made her way to him. Knowing he wouldn't know her yet she sat down next to him with a smirk knowing Logan would be squirming at the thought.
"Shes great huh" Rachel smiled
Warren glanced at Rachel with a nod, "More than that"
She laughed rolling her eyes, "So Warren, your dad know you spend your nights downtown when you should be up at Harvard?"
She caught Warrens attention, "How do you know my father, and how did you know I went to Harvard?"
Rachel watched the stage, "Because you and I know each other, in a different life" she looked at his disbelieving expression, "Along with Ali" she nodded to the stage
Her gaze moved to his huge trench coat, "You're not the only one here with a gift warren, how do you think she's putting on a show" she gave a small smile, or that you think I'm a total lunatic, which I'm not by the way. I'm just from the future
Warren stood up, "What do you want?"
I don't want any trouble. But I need yours and Alison's help. She pleaded
Warren sat back down, "what could I possibly do to help you"
Rachel didn't want to have to project her memories on to people, but it seemed to help with Remy. "Try not to freak out" she warned as she focused.
Warren gasped as the memories of him flooded his head "What was that?"
"A future, I'm trying to prevent from happening" she said, "Now I can get Alison to talk to you, but only if you help me" she bargained
Warren ran his hand through his hair and looked at the stage.
As Alison walked out the back door Rachel and Warren waited "Alison" Rachel called
Ali turned uninterested, but noticed the super fan that always sat at the back of the bar, "Sorry, I don't do autographs"
Rachel fought to roll her eyes, "We're not here for an autograph, We need you to come upstate with us." There's something coming, and we need you're help, but we can also protect you
Alison looked around, "Of course you'd think you're the only special one in the world" Rachel said almost bitterly.
"What she means is, we're like you" Warren said with wide eyes, "We know what you can do"
Alison smirked, "That's real sweet there sugar, but I don't know what you're talking about, now it's late"
Rachel focused Hopefully this will make you see She focused. Alison saw the future, her time at the school, fighting alongside Rachel and Warren.
She caught her breath, "What was that?"
"The future, where I come from" Rachel answered, "But it has to be changed. Alison, you have to listen to me, there is a war coming, and a powerful mutant is trying to steal my team, our team, possibly paving the way for an even worse future"
Ali was shocked at what she saw, "How can that be?"
Rachel shrugged, "We can explain it all once we get out of here'
Ali gave in as she followed with Warren, "I thought your show was great by the way" he tried to comfort her. "Don't worry, she did the same thing to me too" he said
As they stood in Ali's apartment, she still was trying to make sense of it all, "I don't understand, in about 20 years machines will be wiping us out? Mutants have carried on in secret for decades, least I have" she looked at Rachel sideways, "Until you showed up"
"Ali, technology is advancing far beyond our control, and it's people like Eric Lehnsherr and" she stopped herself from saying Jean's name, "That will cause an uprising, but not one in our favor"
Rachel held out the map, "You two will be safe here, I promise you, and Professor Xavier will explain everything else to you"
"Rachel, I don't get how we can be any help to you?" Warren asked, he glanced at Alison, "I'm a college student, I'm not a soldier"
Rachel shrugged, "And I was just a kid when it all started" she looked down at her feet, "But it all came with no warning, we never had any time to prepare, to anticipate what was to come" she said remembering her mother changing so quickly, then the sentinel program came along and before she knew it she was fighting every day for what seemed like years.
"I'm not going to force you to go, and but I'm not wrong, something is coming, and we have the power to change what I know to be the future"
Alison looked at Warren and sighed, "I hope this place is nicer than this dump"
"What do we tell the professor when he asks about you?" Warren asked
"Tell him I'm not finished yet, and tell Logan that I'm fine, and not to come after me" She gave a small smile
"Where are you going" Warren shrugged
"I'm after Eric now" she said, "He has one of my friends, and another mutant who seems to know every move we make"
"What do you mean she's going after Eric" Logan glared at Warren in the study
Charles nodded, "She's trying to talk some sense into Jon, and no doubt take a look into this blind pshychic"
"She's crazy" Logan shouted
Jean sat on the couch quiet, Logan was too busy being furious to keep his thoughts to himself. Jean sat and heard everything, seeing what Logan and Rachel shared.
Charles was managing to interfere with the other details while trying to calm Logan down, "I'm going after her" he started for the door
"Logan" Jean called
"They'll kill her" he shot back,
"You don't know that, Logan" Charles said, "It's too dangerous, Eric has proven that with this new mutant. The minute you head out they'll know"
Logan shrugged, "So what then"
"We have to wait this one out I'm afraid" he said defeated
The bar was practically empty but Rachel didn't mind, there was one man in the bar Rachel had her sights on. Dominic Petros. He was part of Eric's team in the beginning, but later came on after Eric decided it was time to stop fighting each other, after Charles had died.
He was much younger, like everyone else. He smiled at Rachel, "You old enough to be in here honey" he said
Rachel nodded focusing with a smile, "Jamieson, neat please"
Dom was impressed as he poured the glass, "Date stand you up?"
She shook her head, "Matter of fact, I was looking for you"
Dom straightened My lucky day Rachel smirked, "It's not what you think" she started
"Now how did it come to be that you were getting the head start Miss Summers" Eric stood in the doorway
Rachel looked back to find Eric and Jon. She looked around as she stood to her feet for the blind telepath. "Eric, you really want to keep doing this?"
"Look, I don't want any trouble in my bar, if you need to take your granddaughter back home, please do it quietly" Dom said
Eric title his head, "Not how I imagined you to be Avalanche" he motioned for Jon
Rachel began to glow, "Jon, don't do this"
"I don't know who you are, but you wont convince me of anything I don't already believe" he said coldly, "We need to survive whats coming"
"Not like this" she said, "Please, Eric has it all wrong, he'll realize this soon enough"
"I don't see how my dear" Eric said,
"He dies Eric, Charles is dead in my world, and you knew in your heart that you could have stopped it if you had just listened to him" Rachel confessed, "Jean kills him" she laid it out for him hoping he'd see
Eric's eyes widened at the thought, "She'd never"
Rachel shook her head, "A lot happens we thought never would" she looked at Jon, "You had hope, like we all did, that we could live a peaceful life, and you fought with us Jon"
Dom listened, "What is this all about exactly"
Rachel turned, "I know what you can do, I've seen it" she said, "I'm from the future, and in my time a program will be introduced that will give machines the power to wipe out our entire race"
"My whole life I've been able to keep this a secret" he ehld up his hands, "No one knows"
"In about 12 years the government will because you took out an entire town" Rachel said
Eric smiled, "They'll want to lock you up and experiment on you, make you their guini pig"
"Eric" Rachel started to loose her cool
"Just like they've already done to so many of our kind" he stepped closer
Rachel began to transform again, "It won't be like that again"
"You really think you can alter this? The hatered in people, the fear"
Dom was starting to take to Eric's words, but watched in awe what Rachel as doing, she had no choice to but try and take a swing at Eric. She sent a blast through the bar hitting Jon into Eric.
Jon please stop this, I don't want to fight anymore
Jon stood frozen. We need Ruth Rachel focused more and got inside Jon's mind. She saw the interactions with the blind girl. Her name was Ruth A
"They have another mutant that can block powers, and that guy can literally breath fire, so unless you want to burn your bar down I suggest we get out of here" Rachel turned to Dom
He nodded, "Common I don't live far" he hurried her out
She watched him pack a bag before turning back to the window, "So you knew both of them in a different time?"
She nodded, "Jon was a dear friend of mine" she said, "A lot of things happen in my time that I can't tell anyone about, not yet at least, and it was aweful, and Jon was the one person who stuck by me throughout it all" she looked out the windown in a daze, "and now he's a completely different person"
"Guess there's no such thing as destiny then" he said
Rachel smiled looking at Dominic "Guess not seeing as you're coming with me"
He looked confused; "Let's just say the roles were reversed in my time with you and Jon"
Dom shook his head, "How could I say no to a pretty firecracker like you"
"You called me the redheaded devil bitch on many occasions" she answered walking for the door.
"Oh" he said awkwardly
Rachel drove up to the house anxious, it had been a few weeks since she had left, not knowing how the professor would recive her or dominic was the least of her worries. She was more concerned about the scolding she'd get from Logan, and how her mother would be knowing Logan couldn't keep it hidden what had happened between them.
Dom looked at the house in awe, "So you live here?"
"I did…once" she answered looking around, "This place is supposed to be a safe place for mutants, but it was destroyed in my time"
"And I had a part in that?" he asked
Rachel led in him explaining his involvement with Eric.
She spotted Warren in the hallway, "Warren" Rachel smiled relived he made it, "You're here"
Warren nodded, "Yeah, it's been pretty good here, not many people understand what's happening or what is supposed to happen, and that Logan guy is pretty pissed off, and there's a woman here who looks exactly like you" she stopped listening once she spotted Scott.
"Rach?" he strode down the stairs, "My god, do you have any idea what you put all of us through" he hugged his daughter
"It's alright" she hugged her dad relishing in the moment. She missed the moments when her dad hugged her tight when she came back from missions
'Its not alright, what if something happened to you, you're our only hope of changing what's to come" he looked at her, "Jean's been beside herself"
Rachel looked down knowing it was for another reason. "I'm sorry, I am, but they needed to be found, I needed to tell them"
Scott noticed Dom watching the tense family debate, "Sorry, as you can imagine Rachel's absence has put us all on edge"
Dom nodded, "It's fine" he extended his hand, "Dominic"
Scott nodded, "Scott Summers, welcome" he looked at Rachel, "I guess you were part of Rachel's team in the future"
"Not exactly" Rachel shook her head
"He was part of the brotherhood?" Charles asked as Rachel explained
Dom looked around the office, "Can't see how, I heard that guy's speech, sounded like a whole lot of bullshit if you ask me"
Rachel braced herself as she heard he thoughts barreling down the hallway. the doors crashed open, "Have you lost your damn mind?" Logan yelled
Rachel stared at Logan's angry expression, she couldn't help but love when he got all self-righteous and protective. "I did what I had to do Logan"
He stormed right up to her. He was torn, half of him wanted to rip her a new one for putting herself in that kind of danger, the other half wanted to hold her and never let her go.
Instead he rested his hands on his hips as he shifted his weight noticing Dom, "Seems like you picked up a few" he said eyeing Dom, "Welcome here, I take it she's given you the whole speech huh"
Dom nodded, "Most of it"
"Why would you think you could do this on our own" Logan turned back to Rachel, "I could have helped you, protected you"
"Because I knew I could, it would have been even more dangerous if I went with more than just myself" She turned to Charles, "She wasn't with Eric when I got Dom"
He looked on interested, "And so sign of them when you found Warren and Alison"
Rachel shook her head, "You think he's recruiting others then?" Dom chimed in
They looked at Dom surprised, he shrugged, "I guess I don't mention I was a navy seal in the future with experience in tactical logistics"
Rachel smiled, thinking they were finally a step ahead of Eric.
"Logan, would you please leave us, I'm sure you two can catch up later" Charles said
Logan stared at Rachel, "Yes, we can" he turned, "Nice meeting you Dom" she said storming out
Rachel and Charles sat in the office as Dom finished telling them his story, Rahcel looked tired, but she knew there was a lot she missed being away.
"Tell me" she said reading Charles
He looked down, "She knows what happened the night you got Jubilee"
Rachel nodded figuring enough, "I knew he wouldn't be able to keep that to himself"
"It's just that, shes getting stronger, I can see a change in her" he said "Since then she's been trying to stretch her powers, and she's becoming more powerful" he sighed, "She's having these nightmares"
"Nightmares" Rachel never remembered Jean having nightmares
"The Phenonix is reaching for her, and she's woken up strangling Scott" he confessed
She held her head in her hands, "I thought with me being back she'd be able to find peace"
"I'm afraid it's just the opposite, I'm sorry"
The bell rung as Rachel stood outside Jean's classroom "We'll pick it back up tomorrow, read chapters 39 and 40 tonight"
She stood in the doorway "I suppose you hate me…"
Jean turne from her desk and her expression softened, "For leaving with out a word for three weeks, or for starting an affair with a man much, much….much older than you" she raised an eyebrow
Rachel sat in the desk and looked at her hands, "I did what I thought was best for everyone by leaving Jean" she reasoned, "If more had come Magneto would have found out, you know that"
She sighed, "You did do well by bringing Warren and Alison back, although I'm not sure how I feel about Alison yet" she shrugged, "She seems to be turning this house upside down"
"It's part of her mutation" Rachel shrugged
There was an uncomfortable silence, Then theres Logan
Rachel sighed, "It's complicated, far too complicated for me to explaine"
Jean sat down, "if you wont let me in, then you're going to have to try if you want me to at least try to understand, Rachel, this is Logan, and I know Logan"
She looked down "I get him, even without having to read him" she confessed, "I took him for what he is, and he with me, I wasn't just your daughter to him"
Jean looked at her hands, Rachel knew there was a sense of jealousy pang inside of her knowing Logan's heart belonged with Rachel now.
"Jean, tell me about the nightmares" Rachel said
She looked up, "It's nothing"
Rachel sighed, "No it's not"
"Jean this phoenix you've been dreaming about" Jean stopped her as she stood
"Rachel, it's nothing, I used to dream about them when I was a kid, now I have another class to teach in an hour I need to prepare" she walked out
Rachel laid awake the night trying to think back to any nightmares she remembered Jean having in her time. She got up and remembered she hadn't seen Logan since he stormed the professors office. Grabbing her silk robe she quietly snuck out and down the hall for his room.
She could hear voices coming from his room Oh my god he's the sexiest man I've ever seen with his muscles, look at all those viens. All this flirting these past weeks, here goes nothing.
"Woah, woah, Alison look" he said. Rachel walked in and Alison jumped back as Rachel grinned
She was barely dressed, and Logan stood petrified. "I guess I missed a few things while I was away"
"Rahcel, look it was nothing, she's got the wrong idea" he reasoned
Rachel raised an eyebrow, "Glad to see some things haven't carried over to this time"
"Look I thought he was fair game" Ali said grabbing her robe, "Maybe in time he will be"
Rachel tried to hold in her chuckle, "Goodnight Ali"
Ali shut the door as Logan sunk into the bed burying his hands, "I'm sorry, she came in here while I was asleep and when I woke up she was on top of me"
Rachel sighed moving to the window, "You two had slept together before, in my time"
Logan shook his head, "oh god" he sighed "Look she's a beautiful woman.."
"I was 12" Rachel interrupted, "But I guess this means we're even"
"Not even close" he answered, "You could have been caught by Eric and the Blind lady"
"And you gave us up to Jean" Rachel said quietly
He lowered his head, "When Warren and Alison showed up and told us what happened I was so mad I couldn't think about holding it in, I'm sorry"
She knew Logan wasn't to blame as she sighed moving towards him. He stood and took her into his arms. Everything felt right in that moment and Logan let out a sigh of relief, it was real, and she was back.
Rachel buried her head into his bare chest running her hands down his back. The place she longed to be for so long.
Rachel walked into the hanger to find Scott working on the jet. After her second night with Logan, she knew she had to tell her father, she had to explain as much of her time to him as she could. Rahcel used to be able to tel Scott anything when he was alive, and she forgot that being here.
"Hey, morning" he smiled, "Come to give me a few pointers" he grinned
Rachel smiled digging through the toolbox, "I was wondering if I could talk to you" she said closing the hanger doors with her power. Scott noticed the sullen expression and stopped tighting the gears.
"Everything ok?"
Rachel shrugged, "In my time, you were the one person I could tell anything to, and you'd always unerstand"
Scott smiled, "You did huh"
She nodded, "And it's hard now for me, being in this time, you all aren't the people I know to be yet, some of you might never be now that I'm here" she went on
Scott leaned against the tire listening, "I guess now's the time to find out whether or not fate exists, I mean I hope I can be that person for you here Rach, both me and Jean"
It wasn't that easy "I'm in love with Logan" she said blntly
Scott swallowed hard then let out a nervous chuckle, "Did we have a joking relationship in your time, is this a joke? You're trying to give me a stroke right?"
Rahcel stood small and shook her head, "We were together in my time"
Scott stood straight and threw the wrench in the box, "I must have a long way to go before I become that guy you know in the future, because I'm having a hard time understanding now, as well as in the future "
"Before you start relating your feelings towards Logan and your history to this, don't" she said, "It's different dad" she let out
the word tugged on Scott's heart, "Explain it to me" he said sitting back down
"He's far from the person he is today, he will find peace, and all this anger he holds, all of this resentment for anything will fade away. He will find this his home and when he did he became this whole different person" she explained, "Sure, he still has that humour you love so much, but you came to respect him a great deal"
"And I was ok with this?" he said still in disbelief
Rachel looked down, "You weren't around when we finally got together"
He tried to understand her answer, "Dad, a lot of us don't make it" she said, "A lot" she confessed
"Because of the sentinels" he tried to come to grips knowing she was here to change it all
"Part of it" she nodded, "But also because of" she stopped trying to compose herself, "Because we spent a great deal of time fighting each other, with Magneto, when we should have been unified"
"Rachel what happened to cause the sentinel program to be reopened?" he asked
A tear ran down her face, "Something Logan thought he had changed by going back in the first place"
"Which was what?" he stepped towards her, it had to be something big for Rachel to be so upset over.
He held her as she cried, "I need to show you something" she said standing back, she took a breath and transformed into the Phoenix. Scott stepped back in awe
This is just a glimpse of my real power, the power I inherited from Jean
Scott held his head as Rachel projected the memories into his head of their life.
Scott saw Jean become the Phoenix. Rachel transformed back and watched as Scott was beside himself. Rachel focused as she stared at the jet for a moment before it raised off the ground. "Not many people know that next to the professor and Jean I am the strongest mutant on the planet" she said
Scott shook his head "I don't believe it" he watched as the jet was lowered back to the ground, "Should I be proud, or afraid?" he grinned
Rachel was still sullen, "Like I said I inherited these powers from Jean"
Scott's face sunk, "She doesn't make it" he ran his hand through his hair
"She's why the sentinel program reopened" she said quietly
"How"
Rachel tried to bury the memories she had, "The Phoenix has the power to take control of its inhibitors, it took over Jean completely, and she lost herself to the dark powers the Phoenix possesses"
He tried to make sense of what she was saying, but he couldn't believe a word of it. Rachel paced, "I shouldn't be telling you this, but I know she's been having nightmares"
He rubbed the back of his neck, "I thought she was just dealing with a lot of stress with everything"
"It's the Pheonix" Rachel said
"But you didn't go through this, you have it under control"
"Because I saw what it did to her, I worked very hard to not let it control me" she looked down, "Jean isn't as strong" she looked at her heartbroken father, "She wasn't as strong"
"Who does she" he stopped himself, but shook his head, "Who does she kill?"
Rachel couldn't answer that. "I'm not going to answer that"
"You said you inherited this" he said. Rachel nodded, "You killed her"
Rachel wiped the tears and nodded slowly "I had to"
Scott stood again and held his daughter in his arms, "You won't have to, you hear me" he said almost angry, "It's not going to happen again"
Rachel cried hoping he was right, but she didn't have a lot of confidence.
"You need to tell Jean this, help her Rachel" he pleaded, "Help her not end up the way she did in your time"
"I wondered where you'd gone off to" Logan noticed Rachel walk into his room. He said in the window reading up on the American civil war.
Rachel saw the book and grinned, "Why are you reading that"
He raised an eyebrow, "Just reading up on the accounts of the war, we start a two week series on it"
"You were there though" Rachel argued with a smile
"They don't know that" he smiled, "I like to keep them guessing just how old I actually am"
Rachel raised an eyebrow, "Something I don't even know the answer to"
"That makes two of us" he shut the book
"Speaking of your age" Rachel sighed moving to the window, "I told Scott about us, and mostly about everything, so I'd stay out of his way for a while"
Logan cleared his throat, "Oh" he sighed, "I take it he'd like to rip me to pieces"
Rachel nodded, "He's more torn up over my time, and Jean, and you're just the salt in that wound"
Logan nodded "Did you tell Jean?"
She was silent. Logan nodded taking the answer, "Are you going to?"
"If I do, wont that send her over the edge?" Rachel thought out loud,
"But look at what it's doing to her by not telling her" he reasoned, "she feels so far away from you, and all she wants to do is know her daughter"
