Guys this came completely from the guilt of not posting an actual chapter last time. Sorry it's kinda short though.

Movie-education with Jesse
Chloe paces her room. "Don't overthink it. And be clear. You got this. Don't overthink it. And be clear. Just do it. Don't over think it and be clear. It's simple. You can do this. It will be fine. You got this. Don't overthink it," she picks up her phone, taps the contact. "Just be clear." The phone rings twice. She presses the red button.
Chloe flops onto her bed. She groans.
Her phone beeps. A text.
Beca: Hey. Did you mean to call?
She did mean to call. Didn't think she'd chicken out, but she did mean to call.
Yeah. Was wondering if you wanted to hang out?
Beca: I'm supposed to be watching a movie.
You? A movie.
Beca: Apparently it's a movie-cation. Jesse's over forcing me to watching The Breakfast Club.
Beca: They haven't eaten yet.
Chloe laughs.
Beca: Wanna come over? Maybe save me from the disapproving looks Professor Jesse is giving me for texting right now?
Chloe stares at the message. She doesn't know.
Spending time with Beca would be great. But Jesse. What is he even doing there? Does Beca even know what she's asking? Jesse and Chloe in the same room? Is Beca actually oblivious to both hers and Jesse's crushes?
No. I can't. Have fun though :).
Okay. The emoji might have been a little much. But Beca can't know how she's feeling right now. Better to pretend nothing is wrong.
Her phone rings. Her first thought is Beca. Maybe she could tell that emoji was forced.
It's her Aunt Jane.
Idiot.
"Hi, Aunt Jane," Chloe says with fake cheer.
"What happened?" Jane says immediately.
"Nothing. Why?"
"I know you."
"I don't know what that means." Chloe rolls her eyes with a smile. "What's up?"
"Did you do that thing we talked about?" Jane whispers.
"What? What thing?" Chloe hears her mom in the background ask.
"Aunt Jane, you didn't call to ask that."
"Of course, I did. You know that thing is very important," Jane says a little louder.
"Why are you talking like that?" Chloe asks.
"It won't work, Jane," Maura says.
"Oh, really?" Jane says uninterested. "If that's what you want."
"She'll tell me anyway," Maura says.
"No, she won't," Jane says. "Ow, Maur."
"Give me the phone." Chloe hears a struggle.
"You know what you have to do to find out, Maur. And hitting me isn't it."
"You can't just use my daughter, Jane."
"Hello? Hello? I have no idea what's happening," Chloe interjects.
"It won't happen, Jane."
"Then you'll never find out," Jane teases.
Silence. Chloe starts getting worried.
"Ow, jeez. Cheater," Jane complains. "Don't tell her anything, Chloe," Chloe hears Jane yell from away from the phone.
"Chloe?" Maura says into the phone.
"Mom, what's going on?"
"Your aunt is just being manipulative," Maura answers. "There's nothing you want to tell me, right?"
"Don't tell her anything, Bug! Jeez, Maur, that actually hurt."
"You'll be fine."
"I still don't know what's going on," Chloe says.
"Jane wants to leverage information on you for a sausage pizza."
"Just sausage? Am I not worth more than that?"
"You are to me, apparently not to your aunt. But honey, there's nothing important you haven't told me?"
"You know all the important things, Mom." Chloe smiles. Her family is crazy.
"She says there's nothing, Jane."
"There's definitely new Beca developments you don't know about. And won't, until you let me have that pizza."
"New Beca developments?"
"Mhm." Chloe can hear the smirk in her aunt's voice.
"Are there, Chlo?" Maura asks.
"I won't tell unless she gets the pizza," Chloe smirks.
"Ugh. You two are impossible. Fine."
"Yes!" Jane says. As the doorbell rings. "Perfect timing."
"Did you already order it?" Maura asks shocked.
"Of course. Had to get my order in before they closed," Jane says as she goes to the door. "Don't worry, I got your gross salad pizza too."
Chloe laughs.
"Why do you enable her?" Maura asks her daughter.
"It makes her so happy," Chloe laughs.
"You are both absurd."
"Alright," Jane says. "Now that that's done." Chloe can hear she's now on speaker. "What's up with Beca?"
"There's actually news?" Maura asks.
"Yeah, Chloe was gonna ask her out. So?"
"When did this happen? Why didn't you tell me?"
"I needed the bargaining chip for pizza," Jane says simply. "So, what happened?"
"Uh...nothing really," Chloe stammers.
"Nothing?" Maura.
"Did you ask her out?" Jane asks.
"She was with Jesse," Chloe excuses.
"You chickened out."
"No. I just didn't get a chance to ask her," Chloe defends.
"So, it's gonna happen soon?" Jane challenges.
"I don't know,"
"Come on, Chlo," Jane groans.
"Jane," Maura warns.
"It's not a big deal. It's just a crush. I'll get over it, plus she likes Jesse. She watched a movie for him," Chloe explains.
"A movie?" Jane asks.
"If you knew Beca, you'd know it's a big deal," Chloe says sadly.
"Well, it's your choice, honey," Maura says.
"But, if you don't take the chance you'll never know," Jane adds.
"Can we talk about something else?"
"How's your throat and the Bellas?" Maura asks.
"They're okay. The tea seems to help. Bellas are getting better I think. It's a process, you know?"
"And Aubrey?" Jane asks.
"Still Aubrey."
"Well, we can't wait to see you at Regionals. It's going to be great."
"We're pretty confident we can at least place." Chloe assures. "Guys, I'm gonna finish up a few things before I head to bed."
"Alright, honey."
"Goodnight, Bug."
"I love you both," Chloe adds.
"We love you too. Bye." Maura says.
"Bye."
So yay chapter done. Kind of a weird one to me. I don't know.
But like I said I felt really guilty about not having an actual chapter last time. So I'm hoping to ride that guilt to finish this story (hopefully soon) but life is life.
So just bear with me everyone. And I really appreciate everyone sticking with me and this story.
About the last chapter: I got some good feedback, and some bad but that's okay. If anyone still wants to respond to my ideas on the last chapter, feel free. I really do love hearing from you all. I kinda have an idea for it, But honestly, the idea won't go anywhere without prompts and you guys behind it. So yeah, questions, feedback, whatever about it, message me.
About next chapter: Next chapter looks like it will be Regionals. I'm actually looking forward to it. Though, I think I might need to watch that scene again.
