A/N: Sorry for the month long delay... again. I was busy with other projects. But here is a new chapter just for you guys. Enjoy.
Previously on Mr. Peabody and Sherman 1 and a Half...
A friendship begins to establish as Sherman and Penny explore Da Vinci's manor, although Penny is more mischievous than Sherman, as she makes one of Da Vinci's flying machines launch into the sky with Sherman along for the ride. Despite initially not wanting to fly, Sherman maneuvers the plane throughout Renaissance Florence. However, Sherman is caught by Mr. Peabody who tell him he cannot fly as they crash into a tree. Da Vinci is not at all angry, rather he is delighted to know his flying machine works. The same can't be said for Mr. Peabody as he seems to have a look of discontent. The three get back into the fully recharged WABAC and off they go.
Chapter 13: Countdown to Disintegration
Sherman and Penny pause the movie once again as they know what scene follows next.
Sherman: Oh man. It's this scene. I really don't wanna watch this. It just hurts me to know I yelled at Mr. Peabody.
Penny: I actually feel bad knowing I caused you to yell at Mr. Peabody.
Sherman: It wasn't your fault. You were trying to defend me since you were changing your opinion on me.
Penny: But I still feel bad knowing...
Sherman: Penny, listen to me. If it's your fault or not, it doesn't matter. It's in the past. Nothing to worry about from here on out.
Penny: You may be right Sherman. Thank you for making me feel better.
Sherman: Anytime Penny.

The WABAC Machine travels down the chronowaves as Mr. Peabody flies the orb, but still has a look of disappointment as he looks back at Sherman and Penny for a sharp second, before looking back in front. Sherman looks down at his feet with a sad look on his face before looking up at Penny. The blonde girl smiles a light smile and gestures him to talk to his dog father.
Penny: *whispers* Go on Sherman. Talk to him.
Sherman: *whispers* I don't know Penny. He's already mad enough.
Penny: It will be okay, just go up and talk to him.
Sherman looks at his father and activities the hovering mechanism on his chair and hovers towards Mr. Peabody.
Sherman: Sorry I destroyed the plane Mr. Peabody.
Mr. Peabody: Well you should be, you could have been killed.
Sherman: But I was flying safely...
Mr. Peabody: You don't know how to fly well Sherman.
At this point, Penny stand up from her seat to prove Mr. Peabody wrong that he did fly well up until Peabody told him he can't.
Penny: What the heck are you talking about?! Sherman flew a plane, and he flew it well. He was amazing.
Mr. Peabody: He destroyed a priceless historical artifact.
Penny: Whatever. I thought the whole point of this night was to have me and Sherman get along.
Mr. Peabody: Yes, but not this way.
Penny: Either way, you should be happy for Sherman. Turns out, he's not a complete and total loser after all.
Sherman smiles as Penny was defending him and saying nice things about him.
Sherman: Yeah Mr. Peabody. Turns out, I'm not a complete and total loser after all.
He stand up smiling towards Mr. Peabody, who only raises an eyebrow, causing Sherman to sit back down.
Mr. Peabody: Miss Peterson, please stop turning my son into a hooligan.
Sherman seems to not mind being called that as he spins sound in his chair with a goofy smile. Penny once again defends him.
Penny: It's not my fault he's a hooligan.
Sherman: Yeah Mr. Peabody, it's not her fault I'm a hooligan.
Mr. Peabody: Well it certainly wasn't MY fault! I spent the past seven years teaching Sherman wall behaved manners and better judgement!
Penny: If you're such a great parent, then why is Ms. Grunion trying to take him away from you?
After that simple sentence, Mr. Peabody only kept quiet.
Sherman: What is she talking about? Who's Ms. Grunion?
Mr. Peabody: She's nobody.
Penny: She's a social worker for the Bureau of Child Protection. I know this because my parents recieved a call from her earlier today saying Mr. Peabody is under investigation over his parenting methods. She said if he fails, she will take you away.
Sherman faces Mr. Peabody after Penny's explanation.
Sherman: Is this true? Is she really gonna take me away from you?
Mr. Peabody: No Sherman. Nobody will take you away from me, and I'll never let that happen. Just trust... Oh dear god, a black hole!
Warning! Black hole! Countdown to disintegration initiated. T-minus, One minute to destruction.
An alarm blares out around the WABAC and sirens activate as the WABAC travel off course and towards a black hole in the timestream. Sherman and Penny jump up in fright while Mr. Peabody deactivates the autopilot and manually controls the WABAC, but to no avail.
Penny: What's happening?!
Mr. Peabody: If I don't pull ourselves out of here, we'll be disintegrated upon impact!
Mr. Peabody releases the WABAC's rocket thrusters from their sides and flip them towards the front of the orb and ignite, temporarily stopping the WABAC from sudden impact into the black hole, unfortunately, it won't last long.
Mr. Peabody: there not enough power to resist the gravitational pull! I have to divert all the remaining power in the WABAC to the main thrusters.
T-minus thirty seconds to destruction.
Sherman: Why didn't you tell me?!
Mr. Peabody: Tell you what?!
Sherman: That Ms. Grunion was gonna take me away from you?!
Mr. Peabody: It's my job to worry about things like this, not yours!
Suddenly, Sherman's worry and sadness for Mr. Peabody suddenly turned into anger and rage.
Sherman: You just thought I couldn't handle it!
Mr. Peabody: We'll discuss this later now sit down.
Sherman pulls Mr. Peabody away from the console and yells at him.
Sherman: I DON'T WANNA DISCUSS THIS LATER!
Mr. Peabody: Sherman, sit!
Sherman only sits back down with his arms crossed.
Sherman: You can't talk to me like that, I'm not a dog.
Mr. Peabody: What did you say?!
Sherman: I SAID, I'M NOT A DOG! ! !
Mr. Peabody was hurt by Sherman's words, but cannot have this as a problem. Time is running out as they near the black hole.
Mr. Peabody: You're right Sherman, you're not. You're just a very bad boy!
Sherman now gets hurt by Mr. Peabody's words as he sits back down with a saddened look on his face.
T-minus ten seconds to destruction. Counting down. Ten... nine... eight... seven...
As the WABAC Computer counts down the estimated time of sudden death, the holographic monitor displays the current state of fuel for the thrusters as they almost reach 100%. Outside, the red tiles start chipping off the WABAC's outer shell and fall into the darkness below.
Six... five... four...
The monitor shows that the rockets have full fuel capacity, and are ready for emergency use.
Three... two... one...
Mr. Peabody acts quickly and slams his paw into the red button, reactivating the thrusters, and stop the WABAC before it enters the black hole. Only this time, they blast off away from the darkness and re-enter the timestream. However, due to the full force from the thrusters, the WABAC travels extremely fast. Before Mr. Peabody could deactivate the thrusters, a bright white light blinds the trio, before...
*CRASH!*
About an hour later... Mr. Peabody regains consciousness and pulls out a flashlight, turning it on. The chamber is dark as he cannot see anything.
Mr. Peabody: Sherman? Penny? Are you both alright?
He straightens his glasses and shines a light over a chair which makes Mr. Peabody find Penny behind it. But still, where's Sherman?
Mr. Peabody: Sherman?
Mr. Peabody and Penny both notice the WABAC door has been open the entire time. Mr. Peabody shines his flashlight into the mysterious era of time as he brightens the night scene, and points toward the sand which has footprints about the same size as Sherman's feet.
Penny: He's gone... where are we anyway?
Mr. Peabody reboots the WABAC to reveal their current location, much to Mr. Peabody's horror.,
Mr. Peabody: Oh no. We're in one of history's most ferocious conflicts...
Mr. Peabody and Penny both look at the holographic display of the era...
The Trojan War-Troy, 1184 B.C.
*Pause*
...
Penny seems to be looking down in disappointment.
Sherman: Penny?
Penny: Yeah?
Sherman: Are you okay?
Penny: Yeah I'm okay.
Sherman: Is this because I got mad at Mr. Peabody?
Penny: Yeah, but if it wasn't for me opening my mouth, you wouldn't have yelled at him.
Sherman: Don't beat yourself up Penny. It wasn't all your fault.
Penny: But it was, it just makes me wonder why you decide to forgive me and befriend me.
Sherman: Look Penny. I know you revealed Ms. Grunion to me for the first time, but I was also acting selfish since I nearly made Mr. Peabody stop and kill us all.
Penny: *sighs*
Sherman: Tell you what, when we get home, you can sleep over with me and hang out to cheer you up. Okay?
Penny: Okay.
She then hugs Sherman as she feels better thanks to her best friend.
To be Continued...
A/N: Well that was heartwrenching.
Everybody pretty much hated Penny for causing the bad boy argument in the first place, making her feel bat about it, but as shown, Sherman was willing to forgive Penny when she feels bad, so that was sweet of him to care for her.
Although it looks kinda romantic, it isn't supposed to display a romantic relationship blossoming, rather it's just a boy caring for his friend in a nice way possible. So it's a type of friendly fluff here.
Anyways, stay tuned next Monday as I will try to update this story on Mondays. (Check update schedule for more information)
