Up in her room, Karin packs the last thing in her bag and zips it up. Mentally double checking she had everything she needed in her soccer bag, remembering something she hurries to her side of the room she shared with Yuzu, digging for it finding it in just a few seconds. Going back over to the bag, unzipping and placing it inside.
"There..."she tells herself with a content smile."That should just enough...Oh yeah, I need a few more things from the clinic."she begins to ponder on how to get the items, since her father now after he believed some of his items where being "stolen". Locked them up tighter than before. So getting the supplies made it harder for her, even though Ms. Haru managed to buy a few things, it wasn't enough.
Then again, Alena's injuries have been getting better now. There was really no need for gaze, or medical scissors not even disinfecting wipes or liquids. Just really healing ointment, to help with her wound upon her back and maybe some anti-botics and ibuprofen. Which was locked away and only her father had the key which he kept around his neck. Making it harder for her obtain it, also he was in the clinic right now tending to a patient, so that was a plus side. She could easily go into it, and just had to be careful and sneak about till she found it. Then again there was a high chance he would find her, and what could or would be her reason.
Knowing her father he would jump to a highly speculated reasoning, which would be so farfetch from the real truth. A truth she had to keep secret from everyone in her family, a secret that she had been keeping for weeks. Which she was surprised herself that the others had not really seem to curious about her sudden elusive behavior and secretive behavior. Well all but one, her older brother Ichigo. The type of person he is, catching on to things he notices is out of character of others. She was aware of the fact he was trying to figure it out or knew she was hiding something. She could feel his presence at times when she went to tend and visit Alena. Lucky for her, she manged to avoid him or at least put him off her tail for a bit. But he would comes right back.
The pressure she felt coming from him every time, started to become heavy. But Karin was a tough girl, she wasn't going to crack not at all. Plus, she the like the idea of just herself besides Ms. Haru knowing about Alena. Not to mention what would happened should someone else find out about her, also she clearly seem to not be new to this as Alena put it "New World". She had told Karin that she found it odd and strange, everything to her seem like sorcery. Yet it seem pleasant, because Alena had not gone outside the walls of Ms. Haru's home. She pretty much just stayed there to heal and rest up her injury. Which took its time, though after healed enough for Alena to actually move about Ms. Haru's home, which she explored the simple descent house. Dressed in nothing but one Ichigo's shirts, the one with Nice Vibe on it. She took when she Yuzu was doing laundry. Infact she took a few other shirts from her brother, to give to Alena.
Since the girl didn't have any other clothes besides the ones she was found in. Karin had to do the second best idea she could think of, none of her nor Yuzu's clothes could fit, and she didn't have the money to but any clothes for Alena not to mention she didn't know her size. Ms. Haru's clothes didn't fit her, there was another option on the clothes she could use. The clothes would fit Alena perfectly, her body frame matched just the same. It was a thought, one that crossed Karin's mind many times, yet she refused to even take such a measure. Because she wasn't sure if it would be wrong or how the others would react if they found out what she took. Those clothes where very important to everyone in her family, so Ichigo's would have to do. Until she could figure out how she figure out better clothes for Alena.
Zipping up the bag, she slings it over shoulder and exits her room. Hastily she makes it down the stairs, stopping just a steps before reaching the bottom listening to Yuzu humming to herself in the kitchen. Good her sister was cooking, turning her ears towards the clinic where her father was. She could hear him, slowly she quietly walks down the last few stairs and slips towards the clinic. Good, Yuzu had not noticed her. Silently, making her way down the small hall that connected the house to the clinic the door was open just a bit. Which was good, slipping off her bag and placing it upon the floor carefully she slips in. Her back up against the medicine cabinet, she could hear her father tending to a patient not to far. Sliding her eyes upward towards the cabinet that was just in arms reach, she looks at the lock.
Dang. It wasn't open, meaning he hadn't taken anything out just yet. Sliding her eyes around the clinic for something else she take, when bingo! She spotted with just her luck, behind her father on the back counter, Ibuprofen. Just what she needed, though she would have preferred the Antibiotics, something was better than nothing. The only other issue was getting them, which seem easy enough in her head. All she had to do was sneak like a snake behind her father, and take the bottle without rattling any of the pills inside. But those things had a habit of making noise like a maraca when they are held. Which would clearly alert her father, and he would turn around. Now really thinking about it, it was going to be harder than she thought. Calming herself down, she would just have to go for it, and if she was caught think of something crafty. Besides Alena needed, and that was what mattered.
Finally sucking up the courage, she gets ready to move inching her foot forward when the door to the clinic that she came through opens up more and...
"Hey dad whe-Oh!"Yuzu was surprised at the presence of sister."Karin, what are you doing in here?"
The sound of her voice along with the wondering question from his daughter, made their father turn around. Who too was surprised to see Karin in the clinic, because last he check she should have left already for an all day soccer practice. Feeling both her sister and father's questioning eyes on her, Karin had to think of something quick and fast as she stood there frozen.
"...I-I-"she began to stammer trying to find the words. What could she say? The truth was for sure not coming out her mouth. Swallowing hard, she opens her mouth to say something, anything really.
Except Yuzu does."Dad, have you seen some of Ichigo's shirts?"she asked her father, taking her attention off of her sister and towards her father."I just went to collect them from the dryer when, I noticed a few have been missing, plus he's asked me and I don't know. So, have you seen them?"
Isshin thinks about it for a minute, which was good for Karin. Quickly she regains herself and slips out before either Yuzu or father say anything. Quickly she grabs her soccer bag and rushes out of the house. Though before she does, she quickly stops by the kitchen and scavenges through the cabinets and fridge for some food she could take to Alena. Anything would do, finding a few things she hurries and leaves just as Yuzu comes back in.
Racing down the street, Karin comes to a stop breathing heavily. She looks behind her making sure she put enough distance between herself and her home just in case. Disappointed and upset at the fact she wasn't able to obtain what she needed, she had to go to her other option. A place that her brother had and would still some times go to. She became aware of it about two years ago and would frequently go there to purchase items on occasions, it was a small place a small simple little store to the eyes of those just ordinary. But for those who where not, it was much more. She didn't need get anything special from it, just the medicine for Alena and that was all. They had to have it, because they seem to have pretty much everything. The only down side was, the owner of the shop was a keen person, an observer and could easily pick up her real motive. So she had to make sure she didn't show any sign that might give her away.
Again, she started to ponder deeply on how she would be able to execute this plan as she walked down the street in the direction of the little shop. What would she say? How would she say it? Another thing, what where the chances of her brother being told this? So many questions that swirled in her mind, stressing her out more. Thinking to herself, maybe one day won't hurt Alena. Until the image of her wound flashed in her mind, making her decide against it.
Alena needed them, sighing to herself. Seeing there was no way out, she would just have to do her best and keep her fingers crossed they would not see pass her reasoning.
Sitting on the porch outside in the backyard of Ms. Haru's home, dressed in one of the shirts Karin gave you, it read: Nice Vibe on it, the back was cut to a scoop for your wings. The shirt felt like a nightgown to you, just shorter, which you found a bit indecent. But didn't want to complain because it was a generous offer and gift from her, even if she did take them. Your eyes stare up towards the bright blue sky, watching the drifting clouds high above. Slowly you reach out a hand towards the sky longingly, the gentle breeze blew through your fingers and hair. It felt so nice, but what would feel nicer would be to up there in the sky itself dancing with clouds and wind. Birds fly by, you look at them with slight envy. Wishing to be them right now, better yet to be back home where there was nothing but open space as far as the eye could see. Everything wide and open, not congested and cramp like this place. Or time.
Though thankful to Karin and Ms. Haru for allowing room and board, and taking care during your time here. You still longed to go back home, which in realization you could not do, a sad and painful truth. Still, it did not stop you from wishing to return back. This place from what Karin told you was called Karakura Town, a place in Japan. A country you had not heard of before or even knew existed for that matter. The name itself sounded like something out of a story, if your own eyes did not see all this. Then for sure you would have believed it to be fictional. But eyes saw everything and from what your father told you what you see is bound to be true.
Though you had not seen the full town from behind Ms. Haru's walls, it was hard for you to make a assumption on what this town looked like. Because you knew what a town looked like, having seen them a few times when you were younger. Traveling with your father or just flying over them, so you knew exactly what they looked like, a part of wished this town looked like the ones you saw. The other part of you had a feeling it did not look like that and whenever you would able to see for yourself what this place looked like. It would be a shock, having come across so many things unusual in Ms. Haru's home and what Karin brought over told you this place would not at all be like any ordinary town. A lot of things had, what was called technology Kain told you. A word you have never heard, but seem very similar to the Greek word Tekhnologia. The word Technology seem fitting to the word and definition.
This technology was fascinating and puzzling, what made it fascinating was how it manged to fit inside something so small. Like a cellphone and other things, from what was called a magazine or catalog that Karin showed you. This technology went into other things, like computers a strange looking box device or cube shape. It was powered by electricity, just like everything in this town. Karin told you, with the power it allowed lights to stay on longer and without candles or a fire. It powered strange creatures called cars and vehicles, even things called rollercosters and rides. Also video game devices, which was in a sense the equivalent to a small computer like a laptop in a sense. It was one could play games on it instead of using it for work.
Such strange things, which was it puzzled you. Which made you feel uneasy, making it feel like this was all magic of some sort. A concept that baffled and made Karin laugh at how you thought of it. But whatever suited you, and made it easier for you understand. She just accepted it, with so much to take in about this town and its technology seem overwhelming. The only few things that seem to still be same was day and night, and the kitchen. Which had some technology in it, instead of a cellar there was something called a refrigerator that kept all the food in there besides the pantry. It was an amazing object, this refrigerator. The other items in there where interesting as well, especially what was called a Waffle Iron. An device you grew to like, mainly because made such a delicious food called, waffles. A treat you love, something Ms. Haru would make for you pretty much every day. A strange food, infact a great deal of the food here was strange and different from what you had been accustom to eating. Your taste buds truly went into shock from the food that Ms. Haru made or that Karin bought over for you. Some things too sweet, others too salty and mostly it didn't taste few fresh. Frozen was what you spoke about, how in the world would and why would people freeze pre-made food like that. It was disgusting, even if you did like those frozen mini cheese and sauce filled puffs. Besides that, it left a bad taste in our mouth.
A strange place, yes this place was strange. But it was better than that horrid place, a place that at just the mere thought petrified you. Its presence loomed over you like Death's cloak, the sounds of blood curing screams and ripping of flesh echoed in your ears. Your stomach turned, feeling uneasy, the feeling and sound of the crackling of the whip upon others. Jolted you making you yelp, from the touch in which you thought was the whip's. That your wings fanned out knocking whomever it was down, the sound of them hitting the floor snapped you out it.
Turning around, you find Karin knocked to the floor."Oh, Karin!"You hurry to her and help her up."I am deeply sorry, I meant no harm. Are you alright?"
She rubs her shoulder a bit, nodding her head."Yeah, I'm fine and it's alright. I didn't mean to startle you."she apologizes.
"Startled?"you where puzzled by her words.
"Yeah, you seem lost in something."She tells you standing up, which you help her with."I was calling for you, but you didn't answer. Are you alright though, you seem frighten by something."
Her question like her eyes concerned. She clearly wanted to know what it was, but you couldn't tell her. So you came up something else."Oh, yes just a memory. A frightful one, of home..."you semi-lie to the girl, casting your eyes away from her gaze. Karin could see the pain in your eyes, her eyes look at you sympathetically. Clearly she wanted to know what it was, but the look told her it would be best not to pry. So instead she changes the topic, picking up her bag from the floor holding it up to you. She unzips it, opening it for you to see.
"I brought you some things over."she tells you.
Bringing your eyes to the open soccer bag, they widen at everything inside. There was so much ranging from colorful bags of food, to a pillow, and few other things. On top of it, laid a bottle of what read Ibuprofen. You take the little bottle out and hold it, shaking the pills inside.
"What is this?"you asks her.
She looks at the bottle."Oh, that's some more medicine to help you."she tell you.
"Medicine?"you look at it, then remember something. You look her with sad disapproving look."You did not again take this from your father?"You ask, because you found out she had been doing such.
"No, not this time."she tells you, which eased you. You smile at her pleased by this.
"That is good."you tell her. Looking back into the bag, you dig through it slowly and find a few other things. Some things you knew other things you did not. There where a few shirts and socks as well."Thank you, once again Karin."
She smiles at you."Sure, hey I remember you saying you like music. Well classical kind and you like to dance so..."she digs into the bag and pulls out a CD."I brought this over. Here."she takes out what was called a CD player she puts the headphones on you, and opens the lid to player and puts the CD inside. She closes it and presses play.
You hear the music began to play, coming from either side of headphone. The volume was a shock and loud. Mainly because you had never heard something like this or tried something this. The face you made, made Karin laugh. Not understanding why, you laugh with her.
Upon the wall of Ms. Haru's backyard, a black cat stared at the two of you with its piercing golden eyes, intrigued.
