I own nothing. It's all J. K.'s.
Luna wiped her face on her tattered sleeve, trying to get the blood and grime off.
Everything was in ruins and she had come out unscathed somehow.
She searched the grounds. When she spotted him by the lake, she made her move.
"Hey," Harry smiled.
Luna sat beside him, "Hi."
A moment. A pause.
"Harry, you did good."
"Thanks, Luna."
"Harry?"
"Yeah?"
He turned to her, so she seized the opportunity to kiss him. It was messy; he wasn't expecting her. But after a slight hesitation, he kissed back, and it was brilliant. Just a few stolen, uninhibited moments of bliss.
When she pulled away, Harry smiled. "What was that for?"
"I wanted to get one in there before things go back to normal."
"Normal…?"
Luna looked away from those amazingly green eyes toward the lake and the rising sun. "Ginny."
"Oh," Harry said. Then "oh," like he felt guilty. Then "yeah," like he was disappointed.
"Luna?" He said after a while.
"Yeah?"
"We're a long ways off from normal." Then he kissed her again.
