My name is Sakura, Minty comes first
But do not confuse me with the other.
Yes, our hair is green and racing's our life
But that's where the similarities stop, we are not like one another.
In these stories so sweet, it's time for a treat
For now it is my turn to shine.
Sit back and relax, prop up your feet!
Allow me, Minty Sakura, to tell you mine!
The sun rose one day in our quaint little land,
The air was so warm and sweet.
I decided to stroll, take a little walk you know.
Maybe a friend or two I would meet!
I stopped by the town, candy people all around
Hoping to see the others about.
When who should I see first?
Taffyta of course! Bu why were her lips in a pout?
The sight puzzled me so, to her I had to go!
And the closer I got, I soon saw.
Taffyta looked rather distraught,
And seemed deep in thought.
As if something horrible had come upon her.
It was then I spied, Taffyta's greatest pride
Was missing from atop her head!
I let out a gasp, my hands I clasped
No wonder she was filled with such dread!
"Taffyta, your hat is gone!" I exclaimed in great shock.
She gave me a look, "Don't yell! And don't gawk!"
"Was it stolen"?" I asked "Or did your mind just space?"
She growled at me, slapping her hand in her face.
"I don't remember that much…" she said with a sigh.
"But I'm sure it couldn't have disappeared into the sky!"
I Sakura knew what was best.
"I'll find it Taffyta! Don't worry! Take a rest!"
She tried to change my mind, but I of course said no.
She was in trouble, there was no time to be slow!
I would have her hat back in no time at all!
I could fix any problem, be it big or small!
I stopped by Candlehead's first, she's a ditz but sweet
When I asked of the hat, she seemed happy and said "NEAT!"
"How is that NEAT? How can you be so merry?"
"I'll just make Taffyta a hat out of a real strawberry!"
I knew she meant well by her little strange gift,
But it was obvious her mind had gone adrift.
I gave a smile and a thanks as I went on my way.
I suddenly realized that this search could take all day.
Rancis was next, he was looking at himself in a mirror
When asked of the hat, I knew I wasn't any nearer.
For what he told me right then, he said with such sass.
"Taffyta's silly hat? It's not my thing, it's so crass!"
Rancis and Candlehead were not any help.
I continued on the path when I heard a yelp.
Near the pond I saw Adorabeezle, and Nougetsia as well.
Those two were busy from what I could tell.
Caps were not on their mind, as they were busy catching gummie fish.
"You think a strawberry gummie would make Taffyta happy?"
I rolled my eyes at Nougetsia, "I wish."
Next up was Swizzle, he had a brain that could solve this crime!
"Sorry Sakura, but I don't have the time!"
"How could you not have the time?!" I said rather miffed.
"I promised Taffyta that I would be swift!"
Swizz pointed at the clock, it was almost noon.
"Minty will kick my BUTT if I don't have her kart fixed soon!"
Minty! Ah-ha!
How could I be so daft?
I asked about the hat, but Minty?
She laughed.
"Who needs a hat, when I have such a great bow?
And my sisters don't have it, if you wanted to know!"
Sticky and Torvald, they each gave a nod
"A strawberry hat for mint racers? How strange, how odd!"
I trek over to Vanellope, who was racing on the tracks,
When asked of the hat, she looked rather lax.
"I don't STEAL things!" she quipped, I knew that was true.
"It's not my fault her hat disappeared out of the blue!"
Jubileena and Citrusella came next.
By that time I was still perplexed
when I spied them out in their garden.
I opened the gate, being polite in my haste and said with a smile "Beg your pardon."
A strawberry hat had not been seen by the twins,
But they offered me both upbeat grins.
Jublieena said first "You'll find it for sure!"
And then Cissy replied "Sakura, don't give in! Endure!"
I walked over to Snowanna's, music blaring from her house.
Crumbellina was inside, sitting daintily, quiet as a mouse.
"HEY! HEY! CAN YOU HEAR ME!" I yelled at the top of my voice.
No answer, so I just ran in.
Hey. It's not like I had a choice.
"Taffyta's hat is missing and your help I do need…"
Snowanna shook her head, "We didn't do the deed."
Crumbellina just eyed me, and I felt a little chill.
"O-Okay, that's good. I believe you!"
Her look COULD kill.
With my soul intact, I left for one more.
Who was on the list?
Gloyd. Urg what a boar.
"You better not be up to your tricks." I said with a frown.
"You're treating Taffyta's hat as if it were some crown!"
"It's important to her, so what does it matter?"
Gloyd gave a wink,
"You think I stole it! Oh Sakura! Do not flatter!"
Out of everyone, Gloyd was acting the worst.
"Oh, I'll believe you…if you prove it to me first!"
"Puh, I didn't steal a thing! How could you think I'm the thief?!"
I arched a brow.
"Who else here causes us all such grief?"
Even as I glared at him, Gloyd did not holler.
Instead he stood over me,
"That's what you think?"
And grabbed the back of my collar.
Gloyd shoved me out the door, like the 'gentleman' he was.
"Bye Sakura!" he smirked
No one shows manners like Gloyd does.
I had gone to everyone and looked under every rock!
A pink hat SHOULDN'T be this hard to find!
"This is putting my brain in a lock!"
I had to go home, at least to put my mind at rest.
"I hope Taffyta won't be angry
I did my best."
I lay on my bed, looking up at the light.
"There is something more to this. This cannot be right!"
I rolled off the cushion and onto the floor
That was when I saw something hanging from my door.
It was small and pink, with sugar about.
And in that moment, I thought my heart had jumped out.
No clothing of mine had such a design.
"IS THAT HER HAT?"
WHAT A FIND!
But wait a moment, wait a second!
This did not make sense!
"How did this thing get in here?"
I began to feel rather tense.
And then it hit me, the memories came back!
I was starting to feel guilty for giving the others flack.
For then I remembered that only the night before,
Some of us had gone to the beach, just around four.
We swam and we played, we had so much fun!
But it was really late and we were tired by the time we were done.
My mind was fuzzy but the images became clear,
Taffyta had forgotten her hat but I saw it lying near.
Sleepy myself, I put it in my pack
Reminding myself that I would give it right back.
But that was DAYS ago and Taffyta had been one a search.
A search that was MY fault,
The thought my stomach lurch.
But I made a promise to her that her hat would be returned.
It would return in any way, as far as I was concerned.
And did she get it back, my dear friends? Of course! Without a doubt!
But the important question is, did she ever find out?
When I saw Taffyta the next morning, her face was all aglow.
Her hat sat atop her head.
Her face was no longer weighed with woe.
"Gloyd, I wanna talk to you!"
Was the last thing I heard.
"Ya better watch yourself next time, you pumpkin-headed turd!"
"Wait, what did I do?!" the boy asked in great worry.
And that my friends was when I left in a hurry.
A note had been left at Taffyta's place.
Explaining, in 'detail' and gave her 'thief' a face.
'I found this at Gloyd's, hanging from his gate.
Good thing I found it before it met a bad fate.'
You see my friends, even bad things can end good.
I found Taffyta's hat, it rests on her head like it should.
But I hope you've learned something Gloyd,
So Taffyta's wrath you can avoid.
Next time you put your hands on me
I will do much worse than that so next time don't you even think about throwing me out of your house. All I did was ask you a question because I knew if someone had stolen something out of spite, it was you. Who was the one who took my pillow from our last trip and then returned it to me a day later only to watch me hug it and then tell me you FARTED on it just to see me scream. And don't even get me started on the time you took all our swimsuits and put chocolate PUDDING in them and then hid our clothes. OR the time you replaced all the sugar at the Fourth of July picnic with salt and sand OR the time you put itching powder in my yukata before the race and my butt itched for four days. Yeah, this is what you get Gloyd.
