Luther and the Gun
The woman answered by spitting the beer she held in her mouth back at her kidnappers. He wiped his face off with his sleeve before decided to punish her with a sudden back handed slap. He looked like he was going to go in for the kill before a woman vampire stopped him by snapping, "Bo! Wait for Luther." Bo glared at her for ruining his fun but knowing she was right, Luther would have his head, so he stormed off instead.
The door opened and Luther finally arrived, walking in. The woman got excited, throwing herself on to him for a kiss. "I missed you too baby." Luther laughed at her antics.
"We got presents." The woman said excited, showing off their 'guests'.
Luther ran a hand down the captive woman's cheek. "She looks interesting." Then he grabbed the man by his chin. "He doesn't, lock him up." They ignored his protests as several others untied him and yanked him to his feet. "On second thought," Luther turned his back to the scene, not in disgust but more of annoyance. "Go ahead and treat yourselves."
The vampires laughed in excitement, throwing the man into the middle and having at him like a shark frenzy, revealing in his agonizing screams. The woman still tied up started to cry, his screams echoing in her head even after he went silent.
"There's something else." The dark haired woman vampire led Luther to a counter that had Elkins money on it.
"This all theirs?" Luther asked, talking about the couple they had kidnapped.
"No, it's from an old friend of yours, Daniel Elkins." The woman started to smile, clearly pleased with herself. "I caught his scent and thought I'd surprise you."
Luther didn't seem to please though, looking worried as he looked down, biting his lip. "Kate, what did you do?"
Kate grinned widened, "I made him suffer."
"You shouldn't have done that." Luther said quietly. Kate's smile slowly dropped as she finally realized something was wrong. "There's others like him." Hunters. "They'll know the signs and come looking for us." If they weren't already here to begin with. "We have to be careful."
Kate looked desperate for any kind of approval. "Luther, I did it for you, for what he did to your family."
"Revenge isn't worth much if you end up dead." Luther said firmly. Kate quickly stuttered through her apologies. Luther slowly picked up the gun, he recognized this gun.
Kate trying to save face quickly said, "I thought you might like that. It looks like it was made around the time you were born."
Luther stared down the gun. "I've seen this before." He muttered.
"Elkins died with it in his hands." Kate explained. "He should have known better." She laughed cruelly. "Using a gun."
"This is no ordinary gun." Luther whispered.
Back in the streets, I was sitting in the back sucking on my last piece of chocolate while Sam was driving, it was nearly dark now. Dean just hung up the phone. "Pull off at the next exit."
Sam's hand clenched angrily around the steering wheel. "Let me guess, we're going without question just because dad said to." I said with a scowl, Sammy didn't look to happy about it.
"Of course," Dean said. "Besides, dad thinks we've got the vampires trail."
Sam's jaw tensed. "How?"
Dean looked up and shrugged. "I don't know, he didn't say." I jolted up when Sam suddenly swerved, slamming on his breaks while forcing John to stop in his truck just behind us.
"Another fight, coming up." I muttered, following Sam out of the car.
"What the hell was that?" John shouted angrily, storming over with a pissed off look on his face.
"We need to talk." Sam snapped back.
John and Sam got face to face. "About what?" John demanded pissed.
"How about everything since you showed up." I scowled.
"I have questions, like where the hell are we going?" Sam demanded. "What's the big deal about this gun?"
Dean glanced from all three stubborn faces to the next, "Can't the Q and A wait until after we kill all the vampires?"
"He's right, we don't have time for this." John said firmly.
My blood was starting to boil. "According to you, we don't have time for anything!" I spat.
Sam continued on in his own anger. "Last time we saw you, you said it was too dangerous for us to be together." Now he was coming to us a month later to work a case. "Now out of the blue, you need our help!" Sam's voice started to raise to a shout. "Obviously something big is going down, we want to know what!"
"Get back in the car." John said, looking like he was holding back from screaming.
"We have a right to know!" I said loudly. It was a good thing this road was deserted or we'd be blocking traffic and getting unwanted attraction.
"I said get back in the damn car." John repeated.
"No." Sam said firmly. All three of us were up close now, Sam and I glaring at John.
Dean was hovering nearby looking tired, he tried to diffuse everyone's tension. "Look, we're all tired. We can talk about this later." Dean grabbed my arm trying to lead me to the car
I jerked my arm away. "Don't touch me!" I snapped, storming past him.
"This is why I left in the first place." Sam muttered, following me to the car.
"What'd you say?" John demanded.
Sam swirled around in his anger, "You heard me!" Sam snarled.
"You left! Your brother and me, we needed you. You walked away, Sam!" John shouted.
"You're the one who said don't come back dad, you closed that door, not me!" Sam shouted. "You were just pissed off that you couldn't control me anymore!"
"What about me?" I demanded, jumping in the middle of the argument like a moth to a flame. "You didn't need me to drag you down?"
"You were safer where you were!" John snapped, fully believing it.
"Safer?" I repeated in a whisper, probably looking like a crazy person by now. "Safer!" My voice grew steadily louder with every breath. "How the hell was I safer?!" My voice started to shriek into a scream. "Was I safer when I was five and my foster father beat me unconscious? And trust me, it wouldn't be the first or last time it happened! Was I safer when I was seven and my next home locked me in a closet for hours, sometimes days, thinking I was going to die in there? How was I safer when I once had a teacher that kept me after class and all because of my mouthing off, punched me hard enough to black my eye and nearly broke my nose? How about when most the boys I dated as a teenager wanted in my pants and would leave as soon as they either got it or I didn't put out soon enough? Maybe I was safer when I ran away from the system at seventeen and lived on the streets trying to charm people for a few bucks so maybe I can afford a decent hot meal while I was most likely sleeping beside a dumpster that night! Having to do it for months until I was eighteen and finally old enough that the system no longer cared about me!" Tears were starting to bring my eyes.
By the end of my rant, all three boys were surrounding me looking pale and shaking. But John Winchester looked worst of them all, violently shaking, eyes red and wide with horror.
"So yeah, I was really safer there then with my family, 'daddy'." I spat at him. I turned on my heel, slamming my door as hard as I could to close myself in, for the first time, Dean didn't shout at me about 'hurting and being to rough with his 'baby''." I buried my head in my hands, remembering all the times I was alone and feared I wouldn't make it to the next day.
I just cried and cried, I didn't even realize when Sam and Dean quietly climbed in the front seat.
