Dean Man's Blood

Meanwhile, Sam had just found the woman they had kidnapped tied to a pole and sleeping. "Dean, Chris." Sam called in a hushed whisper, kneeling beside the woman. I looked over at the sound of my name and slowly made my way through the sleeping bodies to where I had seen Sammy going.

In the back room, John was slowly sneaking to the gun. He froze when Luther turned over in his sleep.

In the main room, I knelt beside Sam and we started trying to untie the woman from the post. Dean had found a metal cage against the corner of the room with at least ten different people, all tied up and looking weak, barely conscious. There was a lock on the door, keeping these people bolted in.

At the post, "These things are impossible." I grunted as Sam and I pulled on the ties.

In the back room, John was creeping around the bed towards the gun.

At the post, "Hey, she's waking up." I hissed when the woman's head started to raise.

"Shh, we're here to help you." Sam whispered urgently to the woman. The woman opened his mouth and gave an inhuman scream, sounding like a mad animal, not even human anymore but definitely not a vampire either. I fell back on my butt and Sam jumped away in our surprise.

The vampires were starting to jolt awake from the sudden noise. "Chris! Sam!" Dean shouted, abandoning the cage of people for his little siblings.

In the back room, Luther and Kate had woken up, staring at the frozen John. Luther jumped up, throwing John against the wall. John, in a last ditch effort, grabbed a good side rock he fell near and threw it as hard as he could at the dark window. Luther and Kate flinched from the sudden sunlight invading their usual dark room. "Kids, run!" John shouted as loud as he could.

I stumbled to my feet, Sam already up grabbed the back of my jacket to yank me to my feet. The vampires chased us as we bust out the barn, only stopping because it was to bright in the sunlight. It was only when we got to the car did I realize, "Wait, where did dad go?"

Dean, Sam, and I glanced around panicked for several long seconds before John sudden came running out of the trees. As soon as I saw him, I yanked open my door, Dean and Sam hurrying to the car. "They won't follow." John explained, hurrying to his truck nearby. "They'll wait till tonight. Once a vampire has your scent, it's for life."

I shook my head in disgust. "Always knew vampires sucked, and I mean that figuratively as well as literal."

"What the hell we do now?" Dean asked.

"You gotta find the nearest funeral home, that's what." John said like it was the most obvious thing ever. The boys and I shared a look of absolute confusion.

I was sitting on the walkway outside our motel room, Sam and dad were inside finishing they're little father/son talk. Dean had left for the funeral home to get what we needed to poison the vamps. I looked up when the motel door opened to reveal my father. I stood up, with the intent of going inside where Sam was. John stepped in front of me, "Can we talk?"

"No." I said, trying to push past him.

He put a hand on my shoulder, "Please Chris."

I jerked my arm away, "What do you want now?" I demanded.

John flinched at the tone before taking a deep breath. "I just wanted to tell you how sorr..."

"What?" I interrupted with a sneer. "That you're sorry? Maybe if you told me that fifteen years ago when I gave up the dream of having a family I didn't even remember come back for me, all could be forgiven."

John couldn't just let go without trying. He was on the road to recovering his relationship with Sam but Chris was determined to hate him forever. "Christina Mary Winchester, the biggest mistake of my life was leaving you at that orphanage."

I shook my head, forcing back tears of anger and sorrow welling up. "I'm sorry but I'm not a child anymore. I may have needed you then but...I don't need my daddy anymore."

Our conversation was put to a sudden stop when Dean drove up, carrying a paper bag. "Man, some heavy security to protect a bunch of dead guys." He pulled out a jar with thick red liquid inside, a dead man's blood, handing it over to John. John nodded, "You know what to do."

The plan went somehow like this: Sammy, dad, and I were hiding in the woods while the sun was mostly down while Dean was in the clearing looking over the engine of his car. One of the women vampires came down from the barn trying to hook Dean into coming to her place, I positioned the arrow dipped in dead man's blood into my new crossbow. Dean said something that caused the vampire to slap him to the ground, her strength stronger than his because of her being undead. It was when she kissed him that I finally shot my arrow, lodging it into Kate's back and through her chest. Sam shot the second arrow, striking it into another vampires back that was watching Kate and Dean but hadn't realized we were there.

I came out of my hiding place in the bushes, meeting John and Sam in the clearing where Dean was just now standing up. "It barely even stings." Kate snarled and I smirked.

"Just you wait." I said cockily.

"The arrow's soaked in dead man's blood." John smirked. "It's like poison to you, isn't it?" Kate seem to pale before she fell, unconscious to the ground. "Load her up." John gestured to the other one. "I'll take care of this one." His taking care of was beheading it.
