The winner of the Champions Cup will not only earn a trophy with all the names of previous winners. He or She will earn the right to challenge Andrew in a traditional 6 on 6 pokemon battle. And that is all I will leave you with for now.
(Early the Next Day)
"I really hate to leave on such short notice but I am needed else where." said Andrew to himself.
Andrew then took out a a piece of paper out of his jacket wrote something down and left it by Katie's necklace. Afterward Andrew walked out of the pokemon center. As the sun started peaking up Andrew took off on his Flygon heading back to DC. Today was the day that the League finally reopened and all four elite four members were ready for that.
(Later that Morning)
Katie wakes up looks across from were she was sleeping just some time ago to see an empty bed.
"When did Andrew leave?" asked Katie to Emma who was already up and about ready to get dressed.
"It looks like he left early this morning." said Emma.
Katie looks around the room and then looks over on the light stand to see the note. She gets out of the bed and walks over to the night stand and grabs the letter and opens it and reads it.
Dear Katie, Brady, and Emma,
Sorry I left without waiting for you three to awake, but I had thinks to attend to. I will talk to you all later about the missing trainers as soon as I know more. Good luck at the fourth gym and I hope to see you all later.
Andrew
"I guess that would explains why left." said Emma.
"Yeah your right." said Katie.
After that was said Brady walks out of the bathroom and walks over to the two girls.
"Come on you two we have to leave. I will wait for you two in the front of the Pokemon Center." said Brady walking away.
"Lets not keep him waiting lets go take get dressed then get out of here." said Emma.
While the two girls got dressed Brady looked at a map he had. He was deciding on what town to go to. He then looks even closer to find the small town of Columbia, TN. It is an 6 hour walk from Franklin but well worth it. This route has a wide variety of pokemon any new trainer would like to catch if they can see any. As Brady finished folding up the map Emma and Katie came out from the back ready to go. He then packs up the map in his backpack and our three trainers left.
"Brady where are we headed to today?" asked Emma.
"We are going to Columbia, TN." said Brady.
"How far is that from here?" asked Katie.
"It is another 6 hour walk." said Brady.
"There has to be an easier way to New Orleans?" asked Katie.
"There would be but we are almost out of money and we cannot waste what we have left." said Brady.
"I guess we have to walk then." said Katie.
"Katie at least we stop in towns rather then camp out." said Emma.
"It would be a lot easier we could just fly from town to town with a pokemon." said Katie.
"It would, but we do not have one of those pokemon Katie. All that means is we have to walk or take public transportation from city to city." said Brady.
"Oh well lets just walk there then." said Katie.
As the three of them walked they seen some more grass type pokemon. They were about half way there when they seen or thought they seen a pair of Nindoran. One of them was blue while the other was purple. The Nindoran were playing with each other running around growling. It looked like they were having a lot of fun.
"I wonder if they are wild?" asked Brady.
"I am not sure. We could try to capture one." said Emma.
"Please do not. They belong to me." said a stranger running towards them.
The stranger walked over to our three trainers and the two Nindoran. she then returned both Nindoran and started talking to them.
"You three look like trainer." said the stranger.
"We are." said Brady.
"My name is Kylile and I too am a pokemon trainer." said Kylile.
"I am Brady, the one next to me is Emma and the one walking slow towards us is Katie." said Brady.
"You know what you should battle, one of you at least." said Kylile.
"I will." said Emma.
A few seconds after finishing up their conversation and older female walks over to Kylile.
"Sorry she is a new trainer this would only be her third battle but you can battle me." said the older female.
"I do not care who I battle I will battle one of you though." said Emma.
"Good my name is Miranda and I am heading towards New Orleans to battle the fourth gym." said Miranda.
"So are we." said Emma.
"Then lets battle." said Miranda.
"If you do not mind I will ref this." said Brady.
"Sure you can." said Miranda.
"How many pokemon is it going to be?" asked Emma.
"How about a four on four." said Miranda.
"That sounds fine." said Emma.
(Battle: Emma vs. Miranda)
"This will be a four on four pokemon battle between Emma and Miranda. A trainer can only change pokemon when one is unable to battle." said Brady.
"Go Herdier." said Emma.
"Good choice, I think I will go with Numel." said Miranda.
"Numel use ember."
"Use quick attack to dodge it then follow up with bite."
Numel opened his mouth and little streaks of fire came out, these streaks then went right for Herdier. Herdier moved all four of his paws in rapid session to quickly pick up speed to avoid the fiery attack. Herdier then shifted from running rather quickly to go right for Numel. As soon as Herdier was nearly on top of Numel he jumped up and launched his teeth into the back of Numel. Numel let out cry.
"Numel you have to shake off Herdier."
Numel begun to move is torso from side to side to shake off Herdier. It took a serious amount of shaking to shake off the Herdier, but Numel finally did. This left Herdier on the ground.
"Numel use ember again."
"Herdier use take down."
Numel opened his mouth and shout out more small streams of fire right were Herdier was on the ground. Herdier took some of the attack but still manged to land his own attack. That attack sent Numel towards a tree. Once Numel hits the tree this angered a dozen of wild Beedrill. Beedrill started charging at them. The five trainers and the two pokemon took off towards a small stream of water.
"I hate Beedrill." said Brady running quickly.
The five trainers reach the bed of the small stream and they had only two choices either fight off the Beedrill or jump in the stream.
"There is two many of them." said Brady.
"Well we have to try." said Emma.
"What do you..." said Brady interrupted.
"Glaceon use blizzard." said a trainer.
The wild furry of the ice attack scared off all the Beedrill and not a minute to soon since one was about to attack Emma's Herdier.
"There is only one Glaceon that I know that can scare off all those Beedrill." said Katie.
"Yeah we all do but he left this morning." said Brady.
"Who are you two talking about?" asked Miranda with a confused look on her face.
"I think they are talking about me." said Andrew walking over with his Glaceon by his side.
"I thought you left." said Katie.
"I did I walked over to here." said Andrew.
"Why?" asked Katie.
"This is the forest that the first trainer disappeared in, so I thought I would check it out before I left." said Andrew.
"Did you find anything?" asked Katie.
"I wish I could say I did but I did not" said Andrew.
"Why this forest?" asked Katie.
"I am not sure. On a different note I have set up a lunch spot you five are more then welcome to join me." said Andrew.
(Back at the Lunch Site)
"It looked like I got to you five just in time or you would have meet those Beedrill." said Andrew.
"Why do Beedrill like that?" asked Kylile.
"Well Beedrill just do not like to be interrupted. When they are their first instinct would be to attack. Beedrill are one of the few pokemon that get angered easily so most of the time trainers try to avoid them. Well it looks like the soup is done so lets eat." said Andrew handing out bowls of the soup.
"Once I am done here I really have to get back to the League they are expecting me to be ready in about two hours. Since we open in four hours." said Andrew.
"Thanks for saving us Andrew but we too have to leave we need to be in Columbia, TN by nightfall." said Brady handing Andrew his empty bowl.
"If you three want to get there quick I could drop you off." said Andrew.
"I do not think we all can fit on Flygon." said Brady.
"You do not have to worry about us two. We are heading home." said Miranda.
"I do have another pokemon a trainer could fly on." said Andrew.
After that was said Miranda and Kylile left the camp site and headed in the direction of Franklin. Andrew finishes packing up but the fire out and walks over to a clearing to call out both his pokemon.
"Charizard and Flygon, come on out." said Andrew.
"A Charizard?" said Katie with a puzzled look.
"Yeah he was my starter pokemon."said Andrew.
"Cool he is the final form of Charmander isn't he?" asked Katie.
"Yeah he is." said Andrew.
"Um.. I.. I.. Just fill better walking." said Brady.
"I take it you have never flown on a pokemon before. It really is an experience." said Andrew.
"You could say that." said Brady.
"Then I think it would be smart if you fly on Charizard then. He does not go as fast as Flygon and he is the first pokemon I flew on." said Andrew.
"If you do not mind I will go with Brady." said Emma.
"That is fine with." said Andrew.
"It would look like I am flying on Flygon with you then." said Katie.
"Yeah it does." said Andrew.
Brady, Emma, and Andrew all walk over to Charizard who was just standing there waiting to go.
"Charizard I need you to get these two safely to Columbia, TN." said Andre to Charizard.
Charizard lets out a roar and begins to flap his wings. Charizard lowers his head and Andrew helps Brady and Emma on to him. Charizard then kicks off the ground and into the air and flies south towards Columbia. Andrew then walks over to Flygon. Once he was there Flygon lowers his head and Andrew then lets Andrew on. Once on Andrew extend his hand out to help Katie on. She got on Flygon safely and as soon as she did Flygon jumped into the air and jetted out of the forest towards Columbia.
(In Columbia)
What would have taken them another 3 hours they made it to Columbia. Charizard made it there first and he stopped and waited by the pokemon center for Andrew and Flygon who got there shortly after. Charizard let Brady and Emma off and he stood around as Andrew got off Flygon and then helped Katie off.
"Charizard return." said Andrew.
Andrew then walked with them into the Pokemon Center.
"So how did you two like flying on your first pokemon?" asked Andrew.
"It was something." said Brady.
"I seen so many things on the back of Charizard." said Emma.
"I am glad you three enjoyed the flight, but I must go know or otherwise I will be late and Jennifer does not like anyone being late." said Andrew.
Andrew walked outside called out his Flygon and he was gone in a moment.
"Well we are here lets get set up at the Pokemon Center and check out the town." said Brady.
"You two can go ahead I think I am going to train some more with Furret and check something." said Katie.
(Emma and Brady)
"Katie sure is determined to get stronger." said Emma.
"I know, but what else she checking." said Brady.
"Do you think Andrew told her something on their flight here?" asked Emma.
"I think he might have, but Katie will never tell us." said Brady.
"Oh well lets just enjoy the city." said Emma.
(Back at the Pokemon Center)
"Nurse do you have a computer?" asked Katie.
"Yes I will show you" said the Nurse.
Katie follows the Nurse to small room which had four computers. Katie takes a seat in front of one and opens a web browser. The browser happened to be a search engine where Katie enters the words Mega Ring. The results were surprising. It talked about how a pokemon can reach another level with the power locked inside. It then said that only select few trainers have been able to use a mega ring.
"It looks like only certain pokemon can evolve to this next level Andrew was talking about. It says a trainer needs the existing mega stone for that pokemon." said Katie to herself.
Katie continues to read and rook over some of the other fact about it. Right before she could learn some of the pokemon that have this stage Brady walk back in and she quickly shuts off the computer.
"Should I tell them about it or should I not. Andrew told me not to say anything but how could I keep it from those two." said Katie thinking about what Andrew said.
~Flashback~
(Andrew and Katie heading towards Columbia)
Katie is looking at Andrew's left hand at what she thought was a watch.
"Andrew that is a cool watch." said Katie.
"It is not a watch." said Andrew.
"What is it then?" asked Katie.
"Well if I explain it to you. You have to promise me you will tell no one about it." said Andrew.
"Ok I will not tell anyone." said Katie.
"This is a mega ring. There are pokemon in this world that can evolve even further then their final evolution. This is call a mega evolution." said Andrew.
"How can pokemon evolve with just that ring?" asked Katie.
"It takes more then just the ring. It also take what is called a mega stone these certain pokemon are given power from these stones to evolve. The evolution is not permanent thought it could only last as long as the battle can or need of that power." said Andrew.
"I get that but how do you find these stones?" asked Katie.
"You do not find these stones they find you in sense." said Andrew.
"What do you mean?" asked Katie.
"A pokemon and his trainer have to have this special bond that no matter what happens it cannot be torn apart. Once you have proven that you will find that stone on a mountain in the Rocky Mountain National Park. This mountain is guarded by a old man. He is only known as the Mega Guru. You have to beat him first to even get a mega ring." said Andrew.
"When did you get the mega ring?" asked Katie.
"It was shortly after I became Champion. I got this strange message saying come to the park someone wants to see me. And when I got there this old man met me and said to follow him which I did we walked over to the mountain that I have never seen before and when we got to it he challenged me to a battle. Before we battled he handed me this ring and my Charizard a stone. He said I would know when to use it. He had only one pokemon which took all six pokemon to defeat in the end it was Charizard and the mysterious stone he gave him." said Andrew.
"Wow." said Katie.
"Well I think I have shared enough with you and we are here anyway." said Andrew.
~End of Flashback~
(Aboard the DD Cargo Ship)
"Kerry go to New Orleans and get ready to capture the girl. They should be here in a couple days." said Claus.
"Yes sir." said Kerry.
"We need her to be captured with out fail. If she escapes our grasp my boss will have fired. So I need you to do it good and I will make sure of that." said Claus.
"That is were you are wrong Claus I am." said Alex walking over to them.
"Why did he send you?" asked Claus.
"Well he believes you will not be able to get it done, and he knows I can." said Alex.
"He has no faith in me." said Claus.
"You messed up far too many time, so yeah he is having trouble believing you can get the job done." said Alex.
Alex then leaves the room leaving Claus and Kerry in there.
"Goodsworth is an idiot he has no idea that I have a plan to overthrow him." said Claus.
"Sir you have my full contentment to your plan." said Kerry.
"Your not the only one we also have Captain Garcia still in DC." said Claus.
"Yes we do." said Kerry.
"The good thing is Goodsworth does not know I plan to awaken the sleeping giants." said Claus.
"I must be going then." said Kerry leaving.
Yes this chapter is shorter then the norm but I really wanted to focus on the Andrew- Katie Conversation since it plays an important role in the future events. We also got some insight onto who Andrew started with. He then talked about the Mega Guru who happened to only have one pokemon. Andrew now holds one of the few mega rings the US region has.
How interesting how One man in DD has one plan while the other has a completely different plan. It is odd how there is tension in the ranks of DD. Goodsworth has been the leader of DD since they became a real threat. He basically controls Claus over the time he was the League Commissioner. Now Claus wants to bust out of it and lead it himself.

It is known now that Andrew hold a mega stone for his Charizard. The one he has is Charizardite X but we learn more about it later.
DD Update:
There is a lot of tension between Claus and Goodsworth.
(On a side note when it come to mega pokemon I will be very picky on who gets one and who will not. And the trainers who do will not get one till after the Champions' Cup. There might only be one other person who has it before and that one person is the one that has a rivalry with Andrew right now. He knows who he is and also which one is mega I need to know since I am going to eventually write a chapter about how you get the mega ring.)
