Chapter: 76

Natsu flung open the cathedral doors accompanied by a yell next to him. Glancing over he saw Erza looking less than pleased and surprised to see him. Ignoring her he turned to the scene before hand. Mistogan and Laxus stood across from each other, Laxus giving the shorter mage a dark maniacal glare and smile. The Mistogan turned briefly to them acknowledging them silently. Flinching when his eyes met Erza's.

"Pay attention!"

Laxus yelled at him sending an electric blow to the hooded mage's head. With a grunt surprise Mistogan stumbled as his scarf fell in tatters from his face.

Erza blinked at him staring at the Blue hair, so bright against the pale man's face and the red tattoo around his eye.

"Jell...Jellal?"

Natsu hissed and backing away from the awkward situation.

"You're alive?"

Tears came to Erzas' eyes followed by a light blush on her naturally rosy cheeks.

Mistogan looked down "Erza I...did not wish for you to see my face,"

"Jel-"

Mistogan shook his head "I am not Jellal...I leave the rest to you,"

He spoke shortly before disappearing in a puff of smoke. Erza stared after him trembling before screaming as Laxus shocked her.

"Get that dumb look off your face," the blonde laughed as the red head fell. She glared at him in pain.

"Laxus,"

Natsu eyed him down frowning deeply thinking about how Mackarove was suffering because of his own idiot grandson.

The blondes' grin widened, "Ah, Natsu, have you decided to join me yet?"

Natsu walked past Erza who still struggled on the floor.

"C'mon Natsu, the guild doesn't ever do anything for you! Come with us and you'll be treated like a god! Even that little bitch lissa-"

Laxus's smile disappeared as Natsu's knee came into veiw, he easily caught it glaring into dark hate filled eyes.

"Don't say her name from your filthy whore mouth, now stay still so I can beat the down"

Laxus pushed the pinkette away holding out a hand, "Beat me! You! Natsu, you may be strong, but I have long surpassed you!"

Like with Erza he released a large beam of electricity at Natsu, the younger mage ran through it not bother to dodge or reflect the attack.

"Flame dragon's claw,"

Natsu kicked Laxus backwards much to the blondes displeasure, regaining his balance Laxus returned the kick as Natsu landed. Falling back Natsu narrowed his eyes as Laxus grabbed his wrist to keep him in place.

"Don't think you can win so easily!"

Laxus barraged him with a hail of lighting powered punches, all of which were blocked. Natsu twisted his arm grabbing Laxus's wrist pulling the blonde towards his flaming fist successfully loosening some of his opponents teeth.

Still gripping each other's arms the two let lose rapid repeated punches laced with their magic. Laxus growled in frustration as all Natsu dodged and blocked his attacks, his smile returned, however, when he caught the dragonslayer with his foot tripping him.

Natsu caught himself with his free hand and used that leverage to wack Laxus twice in the face with flaming feet. Laxus released the other stumbling back in anger, Natsu flipped back over to his feet only to have Erza use his head as a launching pad.

"Bitch," he mumbled stumbling.

Laxus deflected the woman's sword his smile returning once again. She kept her weapon poised and spoke calmly to the man.

"What are those things floating in the sky, Laxus!?"

He answered aloofly "The hall of thunder, 'm sure you've heard of 'em,"

She swung at him again and again Laxus halted her assault.

"Are you planning on attacking the town!?" she growled much to his pleasure.

"Ahahah! It's a new rule! Hurts me to have to use it but -pfft- this is all for my enjoyment!"

Infuriated, Erza swung her foot at Laxus, "You swine!"

The blonde easily caught her the appendage "You have two minuets left, better hurry," he sang.

Erza swung her head to Natsu who was standing with crossed arms behind her. "Go destroy them!"

Natsu's eye twitched "Right right, send me to go get killed. Nice, how about this. Get your annoying ass out of here and do it your own fucking self,"

"Now is not the time for this!"

She turned back to the mage still holding her foot, "Unhand me!"

With a hum Laxus threw her backwards, Erza changed armor midair and landed elegantly back on her feet.

"Lightning Emperor Armor!"

Laxus chuckled "You think that'll be enough t' stop me,"

Without answering she turned to Natsu staring into his cold eyes. She smiled gently making him blink.

"I can trust you right?"

"Eh?"

Erza's smile widened and she darted past him running outside. "Don't let the us down!"

Natsu side glanced her on the way out searching her eyes for something deceiving but finding nothing in the pure honest orbs.

Laxus began laughing again "What's this?! Going to try and take out the hall of thunder are ya!? Don't be ridiculous! There are over three hundred lacrima out there, You'll only get yourself killed!"

"I'll destroy them all at ounce," she spoke confidently.

"Impossible! You'll die for sure!"

She let out a small laugh "But the town will be saved,"

Laxus stared at her shocked, "Y-you! Are you trying to destroy the rules of the gam-!"

"Oi, shut up,"

Laxus glared at Natsu and charged intending to run after the red head but was forced down by the teenagers flames.

"You Brat!" He snarled, teeth clenched and fist shaking.

Natsu only stared at him, dark eyes glowing from the light of the fire.

I had to cut it short for transition reasons...it's only 30 words short...meh
