(Early Saturday Morning)
Andrew is sitting in his room thinking about the upcoming battle.
"I must be ready for anything and everything I am sure Sidney will throw at me. I cannot and willnot allow this battle to go the same way the last one did. I going to have to use a new strategy altogether, because she knows what going to do. I am not going to begin with Gengar like a normally do, I think I will go out strong and begin with Swampert as long she does not start with her grass type pokemon, but then again Swampert has knocked around grass types before so I think going this way will give a power advantage and a stamina advantage." said Andrew right before he stood up off his bed.
He walked over to the closet and took out his clothes and walked to the bathroom. Once there he took a shower brushed his teeth and got dressed for the day. Andrew walked back into his room grabbed his six pokeballs off the night desk and walked downstairs then outside.
"Its still early the sun has not come up yet. I guess I will just walk towards the school." said Andrew.
Andrew walked out the back gate and walked north from the street he was on. He walked over to the pokemon center to get his pokemon checked to make sure they were ready for today. Once inside the pokemon center he walked to the counter and waited for the nurse to walk over. Once she does she begins to talk to Andrew.
"Good morning how can I help you?" asked the nurse.
"I need to check my pokemon to make sure they are in ready." said Andrew.
"If you can then hand me your pokemon I will go check for you." said the nurse.
Andrew hands his pokemon over to the nurse. She then walks into the back room and is gone for about 5 minutes.
"Ok sir your pokemoon seem in great condition." said the nurse
"Thank you thats all I needed to know." said Andrew.
"Your welcome. Have a good day." said the nurse before walking into the back.
Andrew put his pokeballs back on his belt and walked out. A few minutes after he walked out Katie woke up to the voice of the nurse just minutes before. She walks from the sleeping area to the front to see it was empty.
"I wonder who the nurse was talking to?" asked Katie to herself.
She looked around confused because the pokemon center was empty and she was about to go back to bed right before Andrew walked back in.
"Andrew is that you?" asked Katie squinting.
"I think so." said Andrew back.
"Let me go get my glasses." said Katie running back to her bed.
She grabs them, put them on and rejoins Andrew back int he front of the pokemon center.
"Your up early." said Katie.
"So are you." said Andrew in responce.
"You should know by now I am an early person." said Katie.
"I do, but I can forget." said Andrew.
"Why are you up?" asked Katie.
"I am preparing for my battle, I usually do this when I know I am facing a tough opponent." said Andrew.
"Who exactly is Sidney?" asked Katie.
"I thought I told you about her yesterday." said Andrew.
"You did not say anything about her." said Katie.
"Sidney became Champion in 2004. Her reign lasted from 2004 to 2010. In late 2010 she lost to a guy named Juan. After losing to him Sidney felt embarrassed and basically she dropped from the face of the earth she was not heard from or talked about since her lost. In early 2013 I ran into her here in Sacramento and I decided to challenge her. I did not expect her to be as good as she is and I lost. Juan reign only lasted one year, but that is a different story in its own." said Andrew.
After Andrew said that the Nurse walked back out form her room.
"Is there anything else you need?" asked the nurse.
"No thank you." said Andrew.
"Ok then I will be going." said the nurse.
Andrew looks down at his phone for a minute to check the time. The phone says its 6:00 am.
"Katie I will catch you later. I must be going since the battle is in an hour and I need to get ready." said Andrew.
"Ok I will see after your match and good luck." said Katie.
Andrew leaves the pokemon center and walks towards the school just north of the center. After walking for 10 mintues Andrew arrives at the school. Andrew looks around the entrance.
"Nothing changed." said Andrew to himself.
"Andrew you made it." said Mr. Freedman walking over to him.
"I do know where the school is." said Andrew.
"I thought you would have forgotten." said Mr Freedman.
"I may have been out of here for two years, but that does not mean I have forgotten this place." said Andrew.
"Ok then you know where the arena is?" asked Mr. Freedman.
"Yeah I do." said Andrew.
"Ok then you can go head and go into the locker room on the right, Sidney is in the one on the left." said Mr. Freedman.
Andrew walks into the school and down to the arena. There waiting for him was Sidney.
"Good luck today." said Sidney.
"Same with you." said Andrew.
"You do know I was the last person you lost to Champion." said Sidney.
"I see you still keep track of that stuff." said Andrew.
"Sometimes I do, since I knew I would be facing you again, but I think nothing will change from our last battle." said Sidney.
"I have disagree a lot has changed. I have became champion and my pokemon and myself have become stronger." said Andrew.
"I guess we will see in our battle." said Sidney.
"I guess we will." said Andrew.
They both walk into their respective locker rooms. Andrew sits on a bench and thinks about the battle, while Sidney has her two childern and her husband in with her. It is about 6:45 am the battle will be starting in 15 minutes. The stadium is full of students and people wanting to watch this battle between two elite trainers. In the bleachers on the right on the back row is Dan and his friend Cat, and on the left you will find Emma, Brady, and Katie and Beca who decided to come and watch. The principal now walks on to the arena with microphone.
"Good Morning everyone. This is the battle everyone wqanted to see. It is between a former champion in Sidney Vaughn, against our current champion Andrew Hanson. This will be a six on six pokemon battle. Both side can subsitute at any time durning the battle. So withput futhur ado I would like to welcome the competitor in Sidney Vaughn." said Mr Freedman.
She walks out of the locker room and takes her spot just left of Mr. Freedman. She had a black long sleeve shirt on a pair of jeans and white belt with her pokeballs on it.
"And now welcome her opponent and the US Champion Andrew Hanhson." said Mr. Freedman.
He walked and took his spot just to the right of Mr. Freedman. After he took his spot Mr. Freedman walked off the arena and a ref walked on. Mr. Freedman took his spot in the front row on the left side.
(Andrew vs. Sidney)
"Are you both ready to go?" asked the ref.
"I am." said Andrew.
"As am I." said said Sidney.
"Since your both ready we will determine who calls their pokemon first. We will use a coin toss so Sidney can call in the air." said the ref right before he flung coin into the air.
"Heads." said Sidney.
"That must mean I have tails." said Andrew.
The ref catches the coin and it is tails.
"Sidney will call out her pokemon first" said the ref.
"Ok go Kabutops." said Sidney.
"Go Swampert." said Andrew.
"Kabutops use mega drain."
"Swampert portect."
Swampert incased himself in a green shpere which portected him from any attack from any direction. Even though Swampert was protected Kabutops still charged at him with his two scythes cover in a dark green aura. Kabutops tried three time to get through the protect, but he was unable to.
"Swampert now hydro pump to get Kabutops away from you."
Swampert formed a ball of water in front of his mouth he thenmoved his head and this sent a powerful stream of water at Kabutops. Kabutops brought up his two gray scythes to to protect himself. Kabutops did not take much damage but he was still pushed back inch by inch as Swampert kept the attack up. When finally Kabutops was away fromhim Swampert stopped his attack.
"Kabutops use slash."
"Swampert use earthquake to keep him from attacking you."
The ground around Kabutops violently shook. Kabutops manged to aviod the first change when a rock came up. Kabutops also manged to aviod the second and he was closing in on Swampert. It was not till the third ground change that Kabutops had to stop his attack. Kabutops was stuck between two rocks created by the earthquake. He looked around to find away out but he could not.
"Swampert use aqua ring."
A veil of pure water was created around Swampert and as he took sips from that veil he regained some stamina.
"Kabutops use brick break to shatter those rocks."
Kabutops brought up his right sycthe and brought it down with power on the top of the rock in front of him. Kabutops then brought his left scythe into the closest side of the rock and right after doing so the rock shattered.
"It seems Andrew is playing really defensive with his Swampert. It is really odd of him to do that. I have never seen him battle that way." said Sidney examing the battle.
"Swampert use hydro pump again."
Again Swampert shot out a pwerful stream of water. Kabutops was able to react again by bringing up his two gray scythes to take the attack. It pushed Kabutops till his back was up against a rock created by the earthquake not so long ago.
"Now Swampert use hydro cannon."
A bright bule ball of water appeared near his mouth as it did the fins on his head and tail begun to glow blue as well. Swampert then shot the ball off right at Kabutops. Kabutops took the attack right in his belly, it sent Kabutops through the rock and back to his trainer. Kabutops manged to stop getting sent back by putting his two scythes into the ground. Kabutops was on his knees after the attack and Swampert was breathing heavily. Kabutops manged to get back to his feet.
"Kabutops recover."
A soothing white aura covered Kabutops whole body. Kabutops closed his eyes as he begun to regain health and stamina. He manged to do this while Swapert was still recovering from the last attack. As the recover ended Swampert and Kabutops were ready to continue this battle.
"Swampert use earth power."
The ground around Kabutops begun shaking and erupting Kabutops looked around. He did not know what to do. Kabutops quickly took damage from the debris coming off the erupting ground and again Kabutops fell down to his knees. Kabutops then finally fell from his knees to face down on the ground.
"Kabutops is unable to battle, Swampert wins." said the ref.
"Return Kabutops, and go Exeggutor." said Sidney.
"Return Swampert and go Lucario." said Andrew.
"Exeggutor use egg bomb."
"Lucario dodge the attack then use bone rush to sweep him off his feet."
Exeggutor presented a large egg in front of him. He then lifted it up with his psychic and flung it right were Lucario was standing. Lucario moved out of the way with ease he then brought his two paw together and a big blue bone appeared he gripped it in both hands and rushed at Exeggutor. Once he was in front of Exeggutor he aimed for the feet and knocked him of them. Exeggutor fell onto his back on the dirt arena.
"Return Exeggutor, and go Machamp." said Sidney.
"Lucario use blaze kick."
"Machamp take the hit then grab him and use submission."
Lucario ran over to Machamp andused his right flaming foot to kick Machamp right in the face. Machamp quickly took the hit then wrapped his arms around Lucario and begun to roll around on the ground. Both pokemon took damage. It seemed Lucario took more then Machamp did. Once the attack stopped it took a few seconds but both pokemon recovered from the damage they took.
"Machamp use fire punch."
"Lucario use aura sphere."
Lucario brought out his left arm and created a blue ball of aura with it in front of that paw. He then sent out a growl and unleashed the attack at Machamp who was getting ready to attack. As soon as Machamp took the attack his eyes widened fell onto his back. Machamp manged to get back to his feet.
"Lucario use close combat."
"Machamp again take that hit then use submission one last time."
Lucario ran over to Machamp and he then punched his face twice, once with each paw, Lucario then kicked him in the gut. Right after take that barriage Machamp again locked his arms around Lucario and both pokemon rolled around again. They both took damage. The result this time was differnt though both pokemon were knocked out.
"The result in this round is a double knockout there is no winner." said the ref.
"Great job Lucario return, and go Gengar." said Andrew.
"Return Machamp and go Gliscor." said Sidney.
"Gengar bring him down with shadow ball."
"Gliscor use poison jab to break the shadow ball."
Gengar moved is right hand up and he a dark colored ball of energy and moments later he shot it off going right at Gliscor. Gliscor used his tail to get into the air and then his right pincer became coated in a purple color it was a darker purple then he was. He then rushed at the shadow ball leading with his right pincer. As his right pincer came in contact with the shadow ball it exploded in Gliscor's face. Seconds later Gliscor fell to the ground. Sidney looked confused on what happened.
"Gengar use dark pulse."
"Gliscor get back into the air then use night slash."
Agian Gliscor used his tail to get back into the air. Gengar's dark pulse attack completely missed and left Gengar open for an attack. Now in the air Gliscor dashed at Gengar. As soon as he got to Gengar he then hit Gengar with his right pincer which was all dark in color. It hit Genag and sent him back. Gliscor then attacked Gengar with his other pincer and again Gengar was hit.
"Gengar now use hypnosis."
After the second hit Gengar looked at Gliscor and then started moving his hands up and down. Sidney was to late to realize that she fell into Andrew's trap. Her Gliscor fell to sleep after a few seconds of Gengar using hypnosis. Gliscor crashed into the ground still sound asleep.
"Gengar now use dream eater."
Gengar flew over to Gliscor and set his hand on his head. Gengar absorbed the dream that Gliscor was having. Right after doing so Gengar ate that dream. Sidney looked confused. She had never been in this type of situation. She looked down at her sleeping Gliscor.
"Come on Gliscor wake up."
"Gengar use dream eater one more time."
As Gengar flew over to Gliscor he was about to set his hand down, but Gliscor woke up and attacked Gengar with night slash again. Andrew looked shocked on how fast Gliscor woke up. Gengar was done for shortly after taking aother direct hit of night slash.
"Gengar is unable to battle. Gliscor wins." said the ref.
"Gengar return, and go Flygon." said Andrew.
Sidney looked at her Gliscor and he looked ready to battle again.
"Gliscor use ice fang."
"Flygon use dragon pusle."
A blue ball appeared in front of Flygon's mouth, after stayign there for a few seconds it shot it right for the Gliscor who was charging at him with his mouth open and his teeth blue. Gliscor took the dragon pulse head on and it forced Gliscor to stop his attack. Gliscor was barely able to fly after taking another powerful attack. Seconds later he fell to the ground.
"Flygon use draco metor."
Flygon shot off a small metor high above the arena. It then exlpoded creating smaller multiple metors and they went down crashing into the back of Gliscor. Gliscor let out a cry then fainted.
"Gliscor is unable to battle. Flygon wins. We will now take a 10 minute break before continuing this battle." said the ref.
Both trainers walked to their respective locker rooms. Andrew sat down and reflected on the first three battles. While Sidney begun to think about changing her battling strategy for when the battle resumed. After 10 minutes of waiting both trainers were ready to get the battle underway. They both took their spots on the arena, and both looked dertmined. Sidney was ready to change the tides of the battle while Andrew was just looking to go on and win the battle.
"This battle will now resume." said the ref.
"Go Swampert." said Andrew.
"Go Cradily." said Sidney.
"Swampert use earthquake."
"Cradily us protect."
Cradily brought up a green sheild that would protect from the earthquake. Swampert brought up his two hands and then slammed them into the ground this caused the ground begun to violently shake. Sidney watched as her Cradily just stood there as everything around her shook. After all the shaking Cradily dropped her protect.
"Cradily use energy ball."
"Swampert protect."
A green sheild went around the perimeter of Swampert and would protect him from everything. Cradily formed a green ball between his eyes. After she was done with it she shot it at Swampert. The green shield took all the damage that attack would have done to Swampert.
"Cradily sunny day."
Cradily shot a circle of bright yellow into the air. This move intensified the sun that was now over the arena.
"Swampert use hydro pump."
"Cradily use solar beam."
Swampert opened his mouth and shot out a powerful stream of water right at Cradily. Cradily first absorbed some of the sunlight, she then created a beam of yellow right which was directed at Swampert. This attack blasted right through the hydro pump and hit Swampert right in the chin. Even after taking one of those hit Swampert at first looked strong, but all that was for show as he fell on his face.
"Swampert is unable to battle, Cradily wins." said the ref.
"Return Swampert, and go Glaceon." said Andrew.
"Return Cradily and go Dusclops." said Sidney.
"Glaceon use hail."
The arena which was covered by the sunny day became quite cloudy it then begun to snow in the arena.
"Dusclops use shadow ball."
"Glaceon use your shadow ball."
Dusclops created a ball of darkness in the palm of one of his hands. While he was doing that Glaceon created a replica of the same move near his mouth. Both pokemon shot the move off at the same time. Both attacks collided near the center of the arena and the exploded. This created a cloud of smoke over the center of the arena.
"Glaceon use ice beam."
Glaceon shot a beam of ice at Dusclops. The move went right through the cloud of smoke in the center and the move completly froze Dusclops.
"Dusclops use will-o-wisp burn out of the ice."
Dusclops' eye turned purple and he thawed himself out of the ice. After getting out of the ice his eye returned to its normal color red.
"Dusclops use shadow punch."
"Glaceon use dig to dodge the attack, then use shadow ball after dodging the attack."
Dusclops made a fist out of one of his hand and motioned it forward. This motion created an image of the same fist going right for Glaceon. Glaceon dug deep underground to avoid the attack. He then shortly dug back up behind Dusclops. Glaceon then made a ball of darkness near his mouth. Moments later he shot it off right into the back of Dusclops. Once the move hit Dusclops he was in complete shock as the attack did its damage. Dusclops was still standing strong after taking that shadow ball.
"Glaceon use blizzard."
A powerful storm of snow and ice blew right at Dusclops. As the attack hit he begun to freeze again. First his hands froze then his feet and finally the remaiinder of his body froze. When he was in the ice he fell over onto his back.
"Dusclops is unable to battle, Glaceon." said the ref.
"Return Dusclops." said Sidney.
As Sidney thought about what she had left. It then hit her that her last two pokemon are to ice type attacks. And both have already battled. She tried to think on how she was going to do this but she knew that the outcome would be defeat. She was not going to go dwon without a fight though.
"Go Cradily." said Sidney.
"I will stick with Glaceon." said Andrew.
"Cradily use ingrain."
"Glaceon use ice beam."
Cradily dug her roots deep into the ground. He did this to gain vital nutrients that the ground hid. Glaceon shot off a powerful beam of ice right at Cradily. Once the attack hit Cradily she let out a cry and fell down on her face. Cradily maged to pull herself back up shortly after she fell.
"Cradily use stockpile."
"Glaceon use blizzard."
Cradily sotckpiled onto her body this bolstered up her defense. Glaceon let out a cry and a storm of snow and hail blew past him. This attack hit Cradily hard as she swayed back in forth as the attack hit her. Even with stockpile this attack was just to much and she fainted.
"Cradily is unable to battle, Glaceon wins." said the ref.
"Return Cradily, and go Exeggutor." said Sidney.
"Glaceon I will use you again." said Andrew.
"Exeggutor use egg bomb."
"Glaceon dodge it then use ice beam to freeze his feet."
Exeggutor made a large egg in front of him, he then used his pshycic powers to lift it and toss it at Glaceon. Glaceon used his speed to dodge the attack. Glaceon then shot a beam of blue at Exeggutor's feet. This attack froze Exeggutor's feet to the ground. Exeggutor had a look of panic on his face. Sidney shared the same look because she new what was coming next. Glaceon's most powerful attack.
"Glaceon sheer cold."
Glaceon begun to glow an icy blue as he let out a powerful beam of white right at the Exeggutor who was stuck. As the attack hit Exeggutor he was forced to jsut stand there and take the attack. After the attack had finished Exeggutor was no longer uprught, but on the ground.
"Exeggutor is unable to battle. Glaceon wins, and the winner is Andrew." said the ref.
Andrew let out a sigh of relief after realizing he had won the battle. Andrew returned Glaceon and walked to the center of the arena. He was joined by Sidney a few seconds later.
"Thanks for that great battle." said Sidney.
"I should be telling you that." said Andrew.
"You are a great a trainer and even better Champion, it makes me happy to see that Califronia still has some great trainers." said Sidney.
"I have a lot of respect for you and I want you to know that." said Andrew.
"I hope one day you and I will battle again." said Sidney.
"As do I." said Andrew extending out his right hand.
Sidney shook his hand and walked back to the locker room. Andrew took a minute to look at the crowd who was applauding for the two battlers. Shortly after watching that Andrew walked back to his locker room.
"Well ladies and gentleman, and students. There we have a fomer student here won the match. That just shows any of you can do that." said Mr. Freedman.
The students listened to what he said and took it to heart. Many of those students talked about the battle as the exited the gym and walked back into the city.
(After the Battle)
Dan was waking out trying to to examine everything that happened in that match. He thought about every move Andrew trying to pick up on that ellusive pattern, but everytime he thinks he has it Andrew will go out in a battle and completely change it.
"Lets go Cat." said Dan.
"What the rush?" asked Cat.
"I need to train some more. I may not be prepared as I would like to be, but I can get ready more." said Dan.
"That's fine I also need to get ready for the Contest Monday." said Cat.
They walked away from the Trainer School and back to where they were staying. Dan took the time he had to train all his pokemon working each one hard. He was no exception he worked himself hard along side his pokemon.
(Near the School)
"Em what do you wat to do know?" asked Brady.
"We should just relax the rest of the day and go back to the pokemon center." said Emma.
"We can wait for Andrew." said Katie.
"You go ahead and do that Brady and myself will head back to the pokemon center." said Emma.
Andrew is sitting down on one of the benches inside the locker room. Thinking about the battle and what he could have done differently. Andrew did acknowledge was the fact that Glaceon took down three of Sidneys pokemon. He stood up and made his way back to the arena. There he saw Katie waiting for him. He walked over to her.
"I see you won." said Katie.
"It was a hard fought victory. I need to get these guys to pokemon center to make sure these guys are ok." said Andrew.
"Thats fine Emma and Brady are already there." said Katie.
"Lets go then." said Andrew.
They walked out and walked over to the pokemon center. Once there Katie joined Emma and Brady in the sleeping area while Andrew walked up to the counter.
(At the Pokemon Center)
"Good Afternoon." said the Nurse.
"Same to you." said Andrew.
"How can I be of service?" asked the Nurse.
"I need you check out my pokemon please." said Andrew.
"I can do that. Just hand over pokeballs please." said the Nurse.
Andrew handed over his six pokeballs. The nurse then walked into the back and stayed there for 10 minutes for walking back out with his pokeballs.
"They are fine, but I think they could use some rest. Some more then others." said the Nurse.
"They will get their rest. I can say that." said Andrew.
He then walked over to where Katie, Brady, and Emma where and sat down with them.
"What up for tomorrow now?" asked Katie.
"I am going to go to Yosimite." said Andrew.
"Why?" asked.
"I have not been there since I was young and I finally get some free time to do so." said Andrew.
"What type of pokemon are there?" asked Brady.
"Yosimite has a wide variety of pokemon. from bug to dragon and everything in between." said Andrew.
"Sounds like a good place to catch some pokemon." said Brady.
"It is I wished I caught a pokemon there but I did not." said Andrew.
"Do you mind if we tag along with you?" asked Brady.
"You can just be careful you can easily get lost there." said Andrew.
"When are we going to leave?" asked Brady.
"I will meet you three here early tomorrow morning." said Andrew.
"OK." said Brady.
"Then I will be seeing you all tomorrow. I am going to go ahead and head back to the lab and allow my pokemon some time to rest." said Andrew.
Andrew left the pokemon center and walked to his family's lab. Once there he walked out back and found himself under the same oak tree he was near yesterday. Glaceon was next to him asleep. Flygon flew around with Charizard. Gengar was messing with the other pokemon, and Lucario sat in the tree and looked into the sky.
This was a great battle between to elite trainers. In the end Andrew took the battle 6-3. It was mainly thanks to his Glaceon who went on and took out Dusclops, Cradily, and Exeggutor. So now they are off to Yosimite for the day. They will see many pokemon there. They might even capture some. Anyway it will be atleast one, maybe two before the Contest. This will be a rather large Contest so I am only going to focus on Jenna, Cat, Ally, Gabby, Hailey, and one or two more. Since I was thinking of having about 15 or 20 partiapants. Which also means there will be two guest judges. We have meet both of those judges already. I will not tell who they are thought thats for you to guess.
