(Early Thursday Morning)
"Are you two finally ready to go?" asked Katie.
"I am. We are just waiting for Emma." said Brady.
"The plane leaves in an hour we have to go." said Katie.
Emma finally walks out of the back of the pokemon center. She her bag with her. She was finally ready to leave. The three of them walked out of the Pokemon Center and to the airport. Once at the airport they checked in, walked through the security checkpoint, and walked over to where the plane to Hawaii was boarding.
"Brady what island is the gym on?" asked Emma.
"We are staying the rest of today in Honolulu, then early Friday we take a ferry from Honolulu to Hilo. The gym is in Hilo." said Brady.
"How early Friday?" asked Katie.
"We leave at 5:30 am." said Brady.
"How long is it going to take?" asked Katie.
"The Ferry ride should only be two hours." said Brady.
"We should be there before Andrew battles Friday." said Katie.
"Yeah we should." said Brady.
"Ok." said Katie.
"If you two are done lets board the plane." said Emma.
The three of them found their seats Emma and Brady are sitting one row and Katie is two rows back. Once the clock struck 6am the plane already left the runway on its way to Hawaii.
(On the Plane)
"Brady do you know what the gym leader specializes in?" asked Emma.
"She is a fire type gym leader." said Brady.
"We should get some training in today after the Museum." said Emma.
"You actually want to go to that?" asked Brady.
"Not really, but Katie does and we have three tickets so we might as well use them." said Emma.
"You make a good point Em. We will go just to humor Katie." said Brady.
"Thanks Brady at least if I am bored you will be bored too." said Emma.
"We will be making our approach to Honolulu, Hawaii in 30 minutes so find your seat and buckle up. Thank you." said the pilot.
The plane begun descending from high into the air toward the plane landing pad. Once the plane finally landed in Honolulu Emma, Brady, and Katie got off the plane and the smell of the sea hits them hard.
(In Honolulu)
"Look at this place it seems like everyone here is on vacation." said Katie.
"Ahola." said a voice walking over to them.
"Hello." said Emma.
"Hi my name is Akamu. I have been asked by one of your friends to show you around Honolulu." said Akamu.
"Who asked you?" asked Katie.
"I was asked by our region's Champion Andrew Hanson. He said to show you three around." said Akamu.
"How do you know what we looked like?" asked Katie.
"He described you three very accurately." said Akamu.
"What do you do here?" asked Katie.
"I work with the Pokemon League. I am here on business and he said he wanted a local to show you three around." said Akamu.
"What do you do for the League?" asked Katie.
"I am researcher. I am here studying the Volcano's on the island of Hawai'i. I just flew from there to catch up to you guys." said Akamu.
"Why do you study Volcano's?" asked Katie.
"Well the League is very cautious since the gym leader asked to move her gym from Hilo to the volcanic National Park. Andrew deemed it important that he gets someone who knows about them before oking the move. He does not want a repeat of what happened on Cinnabar Island in the Kanto Region of Japan to happen here." said Akamu.
"You are taking a break from that?" asked Katie.
"No I am actually done with it. When I called him late last night he asked me to catch up with you three before I leave back to DC to deliver my findings." said Akamu.
"Next time we see him we should thank him for this." said Katie to Emma.
"If you three would follow me I gladly show you around." said Akamu.
Akamu lead them out of the airport and to a jeep he rented. He then drove them into town. And begun showing them some key points in the city. After driving through the city he stopped at a pokemon center for the three of them could stop in a get some beds for the night. After they reserved those beds they rejoined Akamu who was waiting for them outside.
"We have one more stop before I leave, and that is the Ancient History Museum. Andrew did say he gave you some tickets." said Akamu.
"We have three." said Katie.
"There's not many pokemon around here." said Brady.
"Pokemon are hard to find in these major cities. The cities are so occupied by those on vacation it makes it hard for pokemon find a place." said Akamu.
"There are pokemon here?" asked Brady.
"Yes there are, but they call most of the National Parks home." said Akamu.
Akamu stops the car at the Museum and the four of them get out of the car and walked over to the ticket booth.
"Ahola, are you here for a tour?" asked the woman at the ticket booth.
"Yes we are." said Akamu.
"Do you all have tickets?" asked the woman.
"Yes we do." said Akamu handing the woman the four tickets.
"Thank you. There should be a guide once inside." said the woman.
They walked in and a tour guide greeted them.
"Are you here to show us around?" asked Katie.
"Yes I am. So shall we begin." said Aolani.
They walked from picture to picture, They listened to the guide explain the piece. A lot of the piece's were about how pokemon made Hawaii the place it is. This was the way till they came to an old painting of two creatures fighting. One on ground and the other in the sea. One was red the other blue. The fighting split the island apart.
"Have you four heard the story of this painting?" asked Aolani.
"I know some of it, but I would like to here it again." said Katie.
"The battle took place, many, many, many years ago. Hawaii was one island. Someone awoke what we now call the sleeping giants and rather than controlling them. They fought each other. They fought hard, each one delivering powerful attacks one after another. It killed many and injured even more. People tried to get away, but they could not. No trainer at the time could even stop the fighting. The US Champion at the time issued a state emergency for Hawaii. He himself almost lost his life trying protect others. The fighting lasted many days. It was the earthquake the ground giant created that spearted the island. This separation costed even more lives. How it ended I do not know, but the myth is this. A green dragon from the sky used his power to quell the giants, and once they stopped fighting they found a place and went into a deep sleep. The man that awoke them was never from again all that was left was the two orbs he used to awaken them. Also known as the red and blue orb. Those orbs are in DC now. These giants are called Kyorge and Groudon. If there power was to be awaken today they could destroy Hawaii and put the US region in jeopardy." said Aolani.
"How do you know that?" asked Katie.
"One of my ancestor's was there. She passed the story down my family tree." said Aolani.
"Where do they sleep now?" asked Brady.
"Rumor has it that they are here in Hawaii. Where that is the one thing I do not know" said Aolani.
After hearing that the tour had ended. He left the three of them with a lot on their minds. They left the Musem without saying a word each of them tried to wrap their minds around those giants and the power they had. The drive back to the pokemon center was a quiet one.
"I should tell you the real reason why I am here now." said Akamu.
"Wait you told us you were here studying Volcanoes." said Emma.
"That would be a lie." said Akamu.
"Then why are you here?" asked Emma.
"I have been asked to track down Groudon's location and protect him. Andrew fears someone want to awaken them. He does not want that to happen so I am the last line of defense to get to him." said Akamu.
"Did you find it?" asked Katie.
"If I did I could not tell you. Andrew said to tell no one this info in the wrong hands could be catastrophic. Not only to Hawaii but the US." said Akamu.
"What is the possibility of someone awakening them?" asked Katie.
"Andrew feels the threat of awakening them is real and he has placed two of us here to keep on them." said Akamu.
"You serious?" asked Katie.
"I wish I was lying, but I am not." said Akamu.
Once at the pokemon center Katie, Emma, and Brady got out of the jeep and walked inside. The three of them layed on their beds and was deep in thought about what Akamu just said.
(At the Pokemon Center)
"Today has been rather odd." said Brady.
"I would not call it odd, but something along the lines of eventful." said Emma.
"I think we should do some training now." said Brady.
"Yeah lets do that." said Katie sitting up from her bed.
They walked outside the pokemon center and walked to the back to the arena.
"How do you want to do this?" asked Brady.
"We could battle one another." said Emma.
"I will battle you Emma." said Katie.
"ok Katie." said Emma.
"We will do a three on three." said Katie.
"Ok." said Emma.
"I will ref this match." said Brady.
Katie and Emma walked onto the arena and took their spots ready to battle.
(Training Battle: Emma vs. Katie)
"Swanna, its your turn." said Emma.
"Pidegy, go." said Katie.
"Swanna use wing attack."
"Pidgey use wing attack."
Swanna's and Pidgey's wings both glew white as they went for each other. Pidgey was unable to land her attack because Swanna was quicker and was able to overwhelm poor Pidgey. Pidgey feel to the ground.
"Swanna use steel wing."
'Pidgey use sand attack."
Swanna's long wings now glew sliver and after becoming sliver she dived at Pidgey. Pidgey started to kick up dirt. Even with all the dirt around Swanna still hit Pidgey. After the sand cleared it showed that Swanna did not hit Pidgey. Pidgey manged to get back into the air.
"Pidgey quick attack."
"Swanna use water pulse.
Pidgey now had her sights on Swanna and flew fast at her to attack. Pidgey hits Swanna in the back. Or atleast Pidgey thought it was. It was not Pidgey was instead hit with the ball of water Swanna made in front of her peak. Pidgey looked confused after hitting that attack.
"Swanna now use steel wing."
The white colored wings of Swanna became a sliver color and she flew at the confused Pidgey. This time Swanna did find her mark and she nailed the Pidgey. Pidgey was sent high into the air. Pidgey hit the gorund with a thud and small was created. Even after all this Pidgey still got up. After getting up Pidgey begun to glow white. She was evolving. Pidgey's wings grew larger. She now had a crest of pink feathers on her head. She was no longer Pidgey, but Pidgeotto. And after she evoked she flapped her wings and created a vicious twister and sent it at Swanna. It ripped at Swanna after getting hit with it Swanna fell out of the sky and landed in front of her trainer.
"Swanna is unable to battle, Pidgeotto wins." said Brady.
"Katie your Pidgey evolved at a good time." said Emma.
"I know she did." said Katie.
"Return Swanna. Herdier, its your turn." said Emma.
"Return Pidgeotto, and go Vulpix" said Katie.
"Herdier use take down."
"Vulpix use confuse ray."
Herdier charged at Vulpix. As Herdier got close she ran into a birght yellow light, this light confused Herdier. After the light dimmed Herdier looked around her and she seen multiple Vulpix's. Herdier picked one and continued her attack. She did not hit Vulpix, but a rock. Herdier did damage to herself after colliding with that rock. Herdier fell onto her belly laying next to the rock. Trying to get back to her feet.
"Em I think we should stop this one." said Katie.
"I think so." said Emma.
"Lets get to the last battle then." said Katie.
"Return Herdier, Roggenrola, its your turn." said Katie.
"Absol, go." said Katie.
"Roggenrola use smack down."
"Absol use double team. Then use iron tail."
Absol moved so fast that it appeared there were more of him. This confused Roggenrola he did not know which Absol was the right one. Roggenrola did not attack but he was attacked by Absol's tail that was coated in iron.
"Absol use slash."
"Roggenrola use protect."
Roggenrola incased himself in a green shield which would protect him from anything Absol would dish right now. Absol ran over to Roggenrola and tried to attack him with is horn. Absol sung his torn three times at the shield nothing happened.
"Roggenrola use flash cannon."
"Absol use detect. Then use iron tail."
Absol avioded the steel cannon that came at it from Rogenrola. Roggenrola shot off another one that didn't work either. Once Absol reached Roggenrola he twisted his body to hit the rock type pokemon with a powerful iron tail. The attack sent Roggenrola onto his back.
"Roggenrola is unable to battle, Absol wins. Katie is the winner." said Brady.
Brady over to Emma who was sitting down on the ground next to her Roggenrola. Absol stood in front of Roggenrola. That was till he heard Katie call for him. He turned around to see Katie. She was happy this also brought a smile to Absol. Absol walked over to her. Katie handed him a berry that Andrew gave yesterday. He ate it and he seemed to really like it.
(After the Battle)
"She is getting stronger and stronger the more time she spends with Andrew." said Emma.
"I see that." said Brady.
"She is going to be tough when we all make it to the Champion's Cup." said Emma.
"All of us will." said Brady.
Katie returns Absol and walks over to Brady and Emma.
"That was a good battle." said Katie.
"Yes it was." said Emma.
They walked back into the pokemon center and Emma and Katie healed their pokemon then walked to the back of the pokemon center. Once they sat down on their beds two other people walked into the pokemon center. One was Akamu, and the other was Aolani. They were talking to each other and they overheard that Aolani called Akamu, Harold and he called Aolani, Juan. Harold Jones is the leader of the elite four when Juan was Champion. They have been friends since. Juan is very rich.
"How much do those three know?" asked Aolani
"Juan I did not tell them our real names but I did tell them why we are here." said Akamu.
"Harold that is all we were suppose to tell them Andrew asked us not to say anymore then that." said Juan.
"I do fill bad for lying to them, but Andrew told us why we have to." said Harold.
"Yes he did. He does bot want them involved in the problem." said Juan.
(Back of the Pokemon Center)
"Why would Andrew do that to us?" asked Emma to Katie.
"I am not sure I always thought he was an honest person. Maybe they are right he does not want to put us in harm's way." said Katie.
(Back to Harold and Juan)
"Are they here?" asked Juan.
"I think they are doing some training, but we should head back. Andrew wanted us to call him when we got finished showing them around." said Harold.
Harold and Juan left the Pokemon Center and headed to the coast line. Where they caught a small boat back to a large research vessel.
(On the Research Vessel)
"Master Harold, Master Juan. Andrew called looking for you two he seemed quite aggravated. You should call him back now." said their Butler.
"Thank you for that Reggie. We will call him now." said Juan.
Juan and Harold walked into the Captain's Quarters and Juan picked up the phone and called Andrew.
"It took you two long enough." said Andrew
"Andrew remember you asked us for our help on this. We had to lie to those three trainers." said Juan.
"Juan it's not like you haven't lied before. I asked you because you were the last Champion when there was two league commissioners. And Goodsworth did not watch over you like a hawk." said Andrew.
"I know you told me that. I do believe that Goodsworth is a snake and he has always had alternative motives to do what he does." said Juan.
"Now let's get to why I called I need to know how everything is going." said Andrew.
"The search came up empty. We are still scanning the ocean for any underwater caverns which Kyorge should be asleep in." said Juan.
"Remember do not do anything but locate it. I want no one in it or around it." said Andrew.
"What about Groudon?" asked Harold.
"Spend one more day looking and focus your search at Mauna Loa." said Andrew.
"I can do that." said Harold.
"Keep me up to date." said Andrew.
"Ok we can do that." said Juan.
"Oh and Juan try not to drag attention to yourself. We do not want any unwelcome company." said Andrew.
"I know. You also mean the DD." said Juan
"You are right I do not want them to suspect we know anything." said Andrew.
"Ok." said Juan.
"I got to go. I have some training to do to prepare for my battle." said Andrew hanging up.
Juan and Harold walk out of the Quarters and returned to the research center.
"Does Andrew actually think they will get the orbs then track down where the giants are." said Harold.
"I have a felling Andrew is not telling us everything. I think the orbs have already been stolen. He just wants to cover the fact they have." said Juan.
"You think so. Then how do you get them out of DC?" asked Harold.
"I guess if you want to get them out you will." said Juan.
"I better get back to those Volcanoes." said Harold.
"Good luck and check in later." said Juan.
"I will." said Harold leaving.
Harold got on his flying type pokemon and flew off to the same island he was on earlier. Juan went back to searching to water surrounding the island. While watching a monitor Juan fell asleep. He was awaken by Reggie tapping his shoulder.
"What it is Reggie?" asked Juan.
"Master Juan, an unrecognizable boat is approaching the island fast." said Reggie.
"Is that right?" asked Juan.
"It could be nothing, but I thought I should warn you about it." said Reggie.
"Thank you for telling me. We will not know what it is till it gets closer." said Juan.
Reggie walks over to another computer and waits for the ship to get closer. The supposed boat that had Juan concerned had turned and went towards Hawaii.
"Master Juan it seems we had nothing to fear the ship is headed toward Hawaii." said Reggie.
"That's a relief one less problem." said Juan.
"I should also inform you that Harold has safely returned to Hilo. And has left toward Mauna Loa." said Reggie.
"Thank you Reggie why don't you take the rest of the day off." said Juan.
"Thank you sir I shall. And what for you?" asked Reggie.
"I am going to finish this scan then retire to my room for the remainder of the day." said Juan.
"I shall see you tomorrow Master Juan." said Reggie leaving.
It was another day of finding nothing for Juan and Harold. Juan returned to his room and wrote something down in a notebook. Harold was camping out near a Mauna Loa for the night. Our Heroes finished some more training and returned to the pokemon center for an early night. After getting off the phone with Juan and Harold. Andrew spent most of the day training his pokemon for the challenge ahead for tomorrow.
(In DC)
Andrew just finished training his six pokemon. Andrew indeed changed Swampert for Electivire. After returning his pokemon to their pokeballs. Andrew receives a call from Jen.
"What do you need Jen?" asked Andrew.
"Someone is here to see you. He says his name is Daniel." said Jen.
"Take to my office I will meet him there." said Andrew.
"Ok I shall take him there." said Jen.
After getting off the phone with Jen, Andrew left the training arena and walked back to his office. Once at his office he finds his seat behind the computer and meets up with Dan.
"I was not expecting you for a couple of days." said Andrew.
"I was up all night trying to figure the Mega Guru's riddle." said Dan.
"I see, and you want my help." said Andrew.
"If you're not to busy." said Dan.
"Then if you want my help please follow me." said Andrew
"Where are we going?" asked Dan.
"The old map room here att he League." said Andrew.
"There is one of those?" asked Dan.
"Yeah there is." said Andrew.
Dan and Andrew walked over to an older looking building that sits just behind the pokemon League. Andrew had to enter a five digit code to open the door. Once inside Andrew told Dan to wait in the front while he looks for the map. He walks over a book shelf full of maps from the 1910 to the 1930's. He gently picked up a map. He then walked back over to Dan.
"The answers you seek should be answered by this map." said Andrew.
"How could this map help?" asked Dan.
"This map is a detailed map of the Appalachian mountains." said Andrew.
"That doesn't help answer my question." said Dan.
"Use this map and compare it to the one you have. Focus on the largest peak, also known as Mt. Mitchell. On the map I just gave you there is an old path that does not exist on new maps find that path now and you should find what you are looking for." said Andrew.
"Then the next place I should be going is North Carolina." said Dan.
"I am not going to give you all the answers, but if I had a choice that might be a good place to start." said Andrew.
"Why are you even helping me I have been harsh to you." said Dan.
"Dan I have learned when I was young to see the better side of people. You cannot change the past. So there's nothing you can do about it. Also the saying great rivals make better friends ." said Andrew.
"That sound like Noah and me then. We might be great rivals but our battles make each other better. Him and I are friends." said Dan.
"Good luck and return that map when you return here. If Jen learns I lent it out she will kill me, since these are prize possessions of the league. and please do not damage it. It is very fragile." said Andrew.
"I will see you later than." said Dan.
"Yes. Once back here I will tell you where we are training." said Andrew.
"We are not training here in DC?" asked Dan.
"Hell no, There is a place near Hawaii we are going to." said Andrew.
"Ok. And good luck tomorrow against Marco. I really want to face him again. He's a coward and cannot stand people like that." said Dan following Andrew out of the old building.
"I know. He could have done serious harm to your pokemon. That is one thing I will not stand for." said Andrew.
"More than just harm to my pokemon. I would have jumped in front of the attack." said Dan.
"I know what you mean. I would do the exact same thing in a heartbeat if I was in your shoes and it if it was any of my pokemon." said Andrew.
After saying that Dan left the Pokemon League towards North Carolina. Andrew returned to his office and planted himself in his chair on the computer looking up Marco on the League's webpage.
"That is odd. There is no record of a guy named Marco in the US database. I wonder if I expand the search to the Champion's League Database. This will allow me to search other regions. " said Andrew.
(The Champion's League Database is a database of Champion's from other Region's it was created years ago for each region to keep track of other region's. It has the Champions of past and present. It is ran and kept up to date by each region. The Champion's League was created during the years after the awakening of Groudon and Kyorge. By the Japanese Champion at the time. He created it to make sure each region ran effectively without one region ruling over others. Once one becomes Champion he has to read and know all the rules set by the Champion's League.)
Andrew ran the name Marco in that database, and found someone that matched him from Russia. The only difference is that is name is Matvey not Marco.
"I wonder if this is the same person. But why would he leave Russia to the US. That breaks Champion's League protocol set many years ago. The bad thing is if I call off the match tomorrow and I am wrong I look like an idiot. But if I lose and he becomes Champion it would mean Russia has two Champions of two sperate regions. I cannot allow that to happen I must win. I will hold nothing back. I might even use my mega evolution." said Andrew getting up and walking out of his office.
After leaving his office he returned to his hotel room and went to bed.

The reason I mentioned the Champion's League is to set it up for later chapters. Lets just say the events that will unfold before the Champions Cup will shake more than one region. Forcing the Champions to gather and come up with a solution to the problem of Team Destroyers. The new and improved DD, but till we reach this moment they will still be called DD.

Dan has started on his journey to get his mega ring.
Katie, Brady and Emma all arrived in Hawaii in one piece. They were met by one League official Akuma (Harold). At the Museum they met Aolani (Juan)
