(Friday Morning in Honolulu)
Two of the three travelers are just getting. They now have to get dressed and catch their ferry to Hilo. Katie is sitting in front of Pokemon Center while Brady and Emma were getting up.
"About time you two are up." said Katie.
"Shut up Katie it's to early to hear it." said Brady rubbing his eyes.
Katie stood up walked into the back and grabbed her bag and walked outside. She was hit with the smell of the ocean. The whole town was still asleep. Emma and Brady were still packing up while Katie stood outside. Katie eventually called out her Espeon and brushed her. Katie stopped brushing Espeon when Brad and Emma walked outside.
"You two ready to go?" asked Katie.
"Yeah we are." said Emma.
The three of them walked down to the pier and looked for the sailor taking them to Hilo. They walked over to the boat he said to meet him at. It was a small sail boat the sails were closed. An old man walked off the boat and meet them. He had a untrimmed white beard that went down to his chest. He was dressed in white. He took off his hat and that revealed he had no hair on his head.
"You must be Salty Sam." said Brady.
"That'd be me. You three can call me Salty." said Salty.
"Why do they call you that?" asked Katie.
"I live in the waters of Hawaii. There is nothin I have not seen before." said Salty.
"Ok." said Katie.
"If you three would get aboard we can leave." said Salty.
Salty got back on his boat and helped Brady, Emma and Katie on and they left the dock towards Hilo. It took Salty no time to get out of Honolulu and into the open water.
"The water be choppy." said Salty.
"Huh?" asked Katie who was standing on deck looking off into the water.
Salty grapped a pokeball that was near him and tossed it into the water. A Sharpedo swam around the baot.
"Sharpedo steer us out of this mess." said Salty.
Sharpedo swam to the front of the boat and swam ahead and led Salty safely through the choppy water.
"That's cool your pokemon knows these waters well." said Katie.
"That'd be right mam. I trained him on these waters he has never steered me wrong before." said Salty.
The rest of the boat ride to Hilo was rather calm. They made good and got to Hilo by 6:30 am. Once there Salty returned his Sharpedo and pointed them in the direction of the pokemon center.
"Thank you for the ride Salty." said Katie.
"Not a problem young lady. Now I must go get a drink before returning to Honolulu." said Salty.
Emma, Brady, and Katie walked over to the Pokemon Center in Hilo. Once there they asked if they had some beds for them. The Nurse there instructed them to the back where They set their bags down and walked over to the resting area which was packed with trainers waiting for the battle to start. The TV was on the pre-show talking about the battle. They settled in for another half before the match would begin. It is 10:30 in DC the match begins at 11.
(In DC)
Andrew walked out of the hotel and walked over to the Pokemon Legaue. At the League he then walked over to the small pond out front and looked into it. Andrew looked into it till Marc tapped him on the shoulder.
"Jen is looking for you." said Marc.
"Ok tell her I will be there in a bit." said Andrew.
"Thinking about your match." said Marc.
"Yeah I am." said Andrew.
"Something bugging you about him?" asked Marc.
"Yeah you can say that." said Andrew.
"Think you are going to lose?" asked Marc.
"No. I never thing about that when going into battle. I always think I am going win. It's just my way of thinking." said Andrew.
"I see well Marco is no push over. He beat me and the others. Is there any doubt in your mind?" asked Marc.
"No Marc." said Andrew.
"I better go tell Jen you will be there." said Marc leaving.
Minutes after Marc left Andrew followed. He walked into the League building and walked over to Jen.
"You wanted to see me." said Andrew.
"Yes, I got a call from the Russian Pokemon League this morning. Saying you called them yesterday asking about Matvey." said Jen.
"I did call them last night." said Andrew.
"I do not care if you call them, but what I do care about is the fact when they called they were pissed about the fact you are requesting info on him. Now why did you call?" asked Jen.
"I think Marco is not who he says he is." said Andrew.
"explain Andrew." said Jen.
"I ran his name through our Region Database. I found nothing on him. So I took the search a step further and searched the Champion's League database. The name Matvey popped up when I did. So I called Lana the Champion of Russia and requested info on him. She told me I had to call the League Office and ask so I called and left a message asking for it. They must have called you after getting my message." said Andrew.
"They did and what they told me is they will not send me that info and told me to suspend you from your duties for asking for it." said Jen.
"There is something they are not telling us about him." said Andrew.
"Andrew rather than trying to figure that out focus on your match today." said Jen.
"I am focused on that. I just do not like the idea of battling against a former Russian Champion." said Andrew.
"We have no idea for sure he is a Russian. All you can do is battle him." said Jen.
"Just have League Officials at the ready for anything." said Andrew.
"Ok I will have them ready in arena 3 for you." said Jen walking off.
Andrew then walked over to the arena 3 waiting room and got himself ready for the match. He can hear the crowd and the announcers talking. Andrew fixed his shoes and walked out into the hallway where he was met with one of the officials.
"I am Tony Danza I am head Secruity here at the Pokemon League and I was told you wanted to see me." said Tony.
"Have officials stationed everywhere I do not trust my opponent today. I have no idea who he is and why he is here." said Andrew.
"Ok I will have everyone ready for anything." said Tony.
"Thank you." said Andrew.
"Not a problem it is what we do." said Tony walking off.
(Pokemon League Battle: Andrew vs. Marco)
"Good Morning Ladies and Gentleman. I am Eric Haynes today I am joined by none other than Mike Hinez. We are bringing you the listeners the play by play. In the match today. Today's match puts the mysterious Marco Rubiono, against our Champion Andrew Hanson. So lets welcome the challenger Marco Rubiono." said Eric.
Marco still dressed in his typical black attire walks out of the hallway and onto the arena. Once on the arena he joins the ref standing in the middle.
"Man he sure is one strange-looking individual." said Mike.
"You can say that again Mike. Now to the man Marco will be battling to try to take the title Champion. So welcome Our champion Andrew Hanson. Andrew walks out from the other hallway and listens to the fans around the arena cheer for him. He stops to absorb it then walked over to the middle of the arena. We now go down to the ref for the rules." said Eric.
"This will be a six on six pokemon battle. The challenger has no restrictions on substitutions. Our Champion cannot change out his pokemon any time in the battle unless one of his faints. After three pokemon on either have been beaten we will then take a short break. After said break the battle will not stop till we have a winner. Do you both understand." said the ref.
"Yes I do." said Andrew.
"Whatever." said Marco.
"Now to determine who calls out their pokemon first we will use a coin toss. Marco can call it in the air." said the ref as he tossed a coin.
"Heads." said Marco.
"The coin has landed on heads. This means Andrew calls out his pokemon frist. Now you two take your spots." said the ref.
Andrew turned around and walked over to his spot on the dirt arena. Marco did the same.
"Now that you both are ready the battle will start when Andrew calls out his pokemon." said the ref.
Andrew unclips a pokeball off his belt and tosses it out. Andrew's frist pokemon is Gengar.
"Breloom, standby for battle." said Marco.
"You can go ahead and have the frist move." said Andrew.
"Breloom use leech seed."
"Gengar use will-o-wisp to burn through the seeds."
Breloom launched small seeds from his head at Gengar. Gengar's eyes turned purple and moved his small hands to create small purple flames. Gengar then pushed those purple flames at the seeds coming at him. The attack burned through the seeds then went right at Breloom.
"Breloom jump into the sky to dodge those flames."
"Gengar blast him with shadow ball."
Breloom squatted down and jumped into the air to avoid the flames. Once the Breloom was in the air Gengar made a purple ball of energy in his hand and once it was finished forming Gengar then pushed his arm forward and the shadow ball went speeding at a Breloom that now where to go. Breloom was hit with the attack and with a thud crashed to the ground. Breloom struggled to get back to his feet, but did.
"Breloom return, Nidoking standby for battle." said Marco.
"Gengar shadow ball."
"Nindoking use protect."
Gengar extended his right arm and a dark ball formed on the end of it. As it was forming Nidoking encased himself in a green sheild. The ball finished forming and Gengar shot it at the protected Nidoking. Nidoking felt no damage from the attack.
"Nidoking use poison jab."
"Gengar dodge it then use Hypnosis."
"Nidoking's hand became coated in poison and he then rushed at Gengar. Gengar's speed made it seem like he phased out to dodge that attack. Nidoking looked shocked how quick Gengar dodge that attack. Once Nidoking turned around he was then hit with a sensation that made Nidoking fall asleep.
"Gengar use Nightmare."
Nidoking started wailing in horror at the dreams he was having that was caused by Gengar. Nidoking started hitting himself to wake up, but could not. Nidoking was doing more harm to himself then anything.
"Gengar put him out of his misery. End it with dream eater." said Andrew.
Gengar flew over to Nidoking and Gengar extended his right arm touching Nidoking on the head and Gengar absorbed the dreams of Nidoking. Gengar kept this up till Nidoking could no longer stand. Nidoking fell onto his belly.
"Nidoking is unable to battle, Gengar wins." said the ref.
"Nidoking return. Jellicent, standby for battle." said Marco.
"Gengar use shadow ball."
"Jellicent use scald to stop that attack."
Gengar formed a shadow ball in his right hand. After Gengar shot the attack off Jellicent opened her mouth and shot off a stream of hot water at the shadow coming at her. The stream of water blasted thought the shadow and now went at Gengar.
"Gengar send it over your head with psychic."
Gengar extended his left arm after his eyes turn blue. The stream of hot water was sent over Gengar's head and into the ceiling of the arena.
"Jellicent use ice beam."
"Gengar let him freeze you."
Gengar stood in place as Jellicent unleashed and beam of bright blue ice at him. This ice hits Gengar and froze him in place.
"Jellicent now get in front of him and use hex."
"Gengar free yourself with will-o-wisp. Then blast him with shadow ball."
Jellicent moved in front of Gengar to unleash a relentless attack that would not stop till Gengar cannot go on. Gengar's eyes turned purple and the ice started to melt. Once the ice completely melted Gengar formed a shadow ball in his hand and sent it at Jellicent. Jellicent took this shadow ball while she was in front of him. Jellicent fell on her back and layed there.
"Jellicent is unable to battle, Gengar wins." said the ref.
"Jellicent return. Typhlosion, standby for battle." said Marco.
"Gengar use dark pulse."
"Smokescreen Typhlosion."
Typhlosion covered the arena in a thick cloud of smoke. This made Gengar stop his attack and look around to see where Typhlosion might be.
"Typhlosion use flame wheel."
Typhlosion tucked his body to make himself like wheel. He then surrounded his body with flames. Then charged at Gengar who was unaware of what about to hit him. Typhloision went right through the smoke and nailed Gengar. Gengar fell down to the ground. Gengar shook off the hit and continued on.
"Typhlosion use flamethrower."
The flames on Typhlosion's neck lite up as he unleashed a stream of fire at Andrew's Gengar. There was nothing Gengar could do and he was hit with the stream of fire. Gengar fell onto his back.
"Gengar is unable to battle, Typhlosion wins." said the ref.
"Great job Gengar return. Go Flygon." said Andrew.
The remadents of the smoke still hung over the arena but Andrew and Flygon can see Typhlosion. It was the same for the other trainer.
"Typhlosion use smokescreen."
"That trick is not going to work this time. Flygon use sandstorm."
As Typhlosion tried to cover the arena in a thick black smoke. Flygon flapped his wings and sent sand flying everywhere. This sandstorm blew away the smoke. Typhlosion will not be able to use the smoke as a cover to attack.
"Typhlosion use fire blast."
"Flygon flew right through it then attack him with dragon claw."
Typhlosion sent out a ball of flames from his mouth that later took the form of a human and went right for Flygon. Flygon's claws became all white as he flew right at the fire blast. The dragon claw cut right through the flames and Flygon now went right at Tyhplosion. Once he got to Typhlosion he slashed him twice with his claws. Typhlosion winced as he was slashed.
"Flygon finish it with hyper beam."
"Typhlosion use flamethrower."
Flygon opened his mouth and unleashed a power beam of orange at Typhlosion After Flygon fired that beam Typhlosion opened his mouth and fired off a stream of fire. The two attacks met head and at first they looked even but the tides started to turn in Flygon's favor as the hyper overwhelmed the flamethrower and hit Typhlosion. After the attack stopped the flame on Typhlosion's neck went out and the battle was over after.
"Typhlosion is unable to battle, Flygon wins. That will mark the thrid pokemon Marco has lost. Which means we will now take a short break before the battle continues." said the ref.
Andrew walked back into the hallway right behind him. He then walked into the waiting room and sat down on the couch. Marco sat down int he hallway behind him. He had a look of disappointment on his face. He was not pleased on how the battle was going. He was only able to take out one of Andrew's pokemon.
(Commentary from the Announcers)
"Mike your thoughts on how the battle is going." said Eric.
"Andrew was giving Marco everything he had and more. It seems Marco is just overwhelmed at this point in the battle. He only manged to take out one of Andrew's pokemon. The problem for Marco now is Andrew will only get stronger after this break." said Mike.
"Is there any possibility for Marco winning this battle?" asked Eric.
"Unfortunately no. The reason is simple he still has to deal with some of Andrew's best pokemon." said Mike.
"Mike you were a trainer at one time. What is the way to beat Andrew?" asked Eric.
"In all my years of being a pokemon trainer I have not seen a trainer as hard or as determined like Andrew there is one person I can compare him to. That one person I can compare him to Sydney. They both have this determination and demeanor about themself that only comes out in battle. If there is a winning strategy to beat Andrew is just to be able to overpower him. That in itself is a hard task." said Mike.
"Mike your final thoughts of the first round." said Eric.
"Andrew has this battle well in hand. Now all he has to do his beat Marco's Metagross and that would basically end this battle."said Mike
"It looks like we are about to start the remainder of the match. The ref and two trainers have returned so we are about to get this battle back underway." said Eric.
(Back to the Battle)
"Marco you will now call out your pokemon first." said the ref.
"Golduck, standby for battle." said Marco.
"Electivire, go." said Andrew.
"Golduck use zen headbutt."
"Electivire use thunderbolt."
Golduck lowered his head and it became a purple color as he rushed at Electivire. Electivire let out a cry and unleashed a powerful bolt of lighting at Golduck. This stopped him and he was unable to land his own attack.
"Electivire now use thunderpunch."
Electivire's fist was coursing with electricity as he ran at Golduck who was still filling the effects of thunderbolt. Electivire hit Golduck with his fist. Golduck's eyes widened as he felt the thunderpunch nail him in the gut. Golduck was still on his feet when Electivire hit him again with his other fist in the same spot. Golduck again still stood. Golduck looked like he had nothing left.
"Golduck use crush claw."
"Electivire use thunderpunch one more time."
Golduck walked slowly over to Electivire both sets of claws where all white. Electivire stood there and waited for Golduck to come at him. Once Golduck finally reached Electivire he tried to swing his claws but he was unable to because he was once again hit with another thunderpunch. Marco's Golduck fell down after taking that punch from Electivire.
"Golduck is unable to battle, Electivire wins." said the ref.
"Golduck return. Breloom, standby for battle." said Marco.
"Electivire use thunderpunch."
"Breloom dodge it then use focus blast."
Electivire's fists once again coursed with thunder he then ran at Breloom. Breloom jumped into the air to avoid Electivire's thunderpunch. He then brought his two claws together to form a powerful blast of brown. He then sent it at Electivire. Electivire threw one of his thunderpunches at the blast and the attack exploded and did some damage to both pokemon because Breloom had landed once he launched it. After the attack had damaged them both pokemon stood tall. That was all till Breloom fell onto one knee. Breloom's battle with Gengar earlier was taking its toll.
"Electivire use firepunch."
"Breloom use leech seed."
Breloom waited till Electivire was close to him to launch some seeds at him. Elcetivire was seeded, but he still manged to nail Breloom with his fist coated in flames. After taking that hit Breloom fell down from his standing position. Electivire was taking damage as well from the leech seed draining his energy.
"Breloom is unable to battle, Electivire wins." said the ref.
After the ref said that Electivire fell down onto his stomach.
"Electivire is also unable to battle. Both trainer will now select one pokemon each." said the ref.
"Return Breloom. Meatgross, standby for battle." said Marco.
"Return Electivire, and go Charizard." said Andrew.
"Metagross use flash cannon."
"Charizard use flamethrower."
Charizard let out a stream of flames while Metagross unleashed a beam of sliver from his large X on his head. Both attacks meet head on and caused another explosion this time smoke covered the arena. Marco looked around to see the flames of Charizard but he could not see them. What he did see was a flash pink. The flash of pink was Andrew pressing his mega ring. The smoke covering the arena was sucked into the pink sphere the formed Charizard. Marco looked on in astonishment as the sphere disputed and now Charizard was black. The inside of his wings and his flames were blue.
"What the hell is that?" asked Marco.
Rather then respond all Andrew did was smile. He was smiling at his Charizard who was more menacing then his former self.
"Metagross meter mash."
"Charizard flamethrower."
Metagross rushed at Charizard with his two front legs ready to land an attack. Before he could Charizard bellowed out a dark blue stream of fire that completly overtook Metagross. Metagross fell to the ground with a thud. Metagross was burnt and was barely able to stand let alone perform an attack.
"Charizard use fire blast."
"Metagross protect."
Metagross tried to get a shield up but he could not he was to damaged from the single flamethrower. Charizard let out a ball of blue flames that later became human-like looking and it found its mark on Metagross. Metagross felt the intense flames and let out a cry and his body and legs fell to the ground.
"Metagross is unable to battle, Charizard wins. Andrew is the winner." said the ref.
Andrew pressed his mega ring again and Charizard returned to his normal orange color. He landed near Andrew and let out a flamethrower. Andrew still had a smile on his face. He was happy about how the battle went and above all he finally got to use Mega Charizard in a League Battle. He returned Charizard and walked over to Marco.
"Let this be a lesson to you. Your actions have consequnces. Trying to injure another's pokemon is unforgivable, an act like that warrants punishment but the loss you just recived should do be punishment enough. I have nothing more to say to a person like you. I will never give you a rematch. You do not deserve it. I hope one day you relize there's more to pokemon then battling. My time may past as Champion as soon as you do realize it, but you will still know it. I am done." said Andrew.
"Andrew your still nothing more than a smug trainer who thinks he knows more about my pokemon then me. I was not battling you for a damn title I was battling you to prove my point that a person like you is nothing more than an idiot. You preach about pokemon like you actually know how they think." said Marco.
"Marco here's the thing if you know your pokemon you would not have pushed your Metagross as far as you did. There is no way he should have stayed in the battle after taking that powerful flamethrower. The battle was over after that moment. I felt gulity for having to attack again after that to a helpless pokemon." said Andrew.
"How can you even fill guilty for another's pokemon?" asked Marco.
"Because I am not like you. I have a conscious. I could not live with myself if had caused another living being harm like I almost had to with your Metagross." said Andrew.
"In order to win you have to destroy another's pokemon." said Marco.
"Whoever taught you that should stop teaching we have pokemon battles for fun and games. We raise pokemon like pets. If you destroy one's pet it would be like destroying a human. An unforgivable act. I fill sorry for you friends and family to have to deal with a person with no remorse for his actions." said Andrew.
Marco tried to throw a punch at Andrew but he was stopped by a League Official who grapped both his hands.
"It's a shame if you had a heart for your pokemon and others you would be a good trainer." said Andrew walking off.
The officials escorted Marco out of the arena and out of the Pokemon League. He walked off still very angry.
(After the Battle)
"There has to be a way to get back at Andrew. But how?" asked Marco to himself.
"Maybe I can help you." said a male voice.
"Who are you?" asked Marco.
"Someone who doesn't like Andrew." said the male voice.
"What did he do to you?" asked Marco.
"I am just a person who thinks he can do a better job then Andrew." said the male voice.
"How can you help me?" asked Marco.
"I am a man with an extremely powerful pokemon at my disposal." said the male voice.
"Which pokemon?" asked Marco.
"Reshiram" said the male voice.
"What would you want me to do?" asked Marco.
"I need you to use him and battle with him." said the male voice.
"How can I trust you?" asked Marco.
"You can't. We both have the same goals to rid the regions of each and every champion." said the male voice.
"I will help you. Just tell me who you are?" asked Marco.
"I'm the leader of the Dark Destroyers, Roger Goodsworth." said Goodsworth.
"But you are the.." said Marco before getting cut off.
"I am the former League Commsioner." said Goodsworth.
They shake hands and walk towards Goodsworth's helicopter waiting for him in a construction site. Goodsworth order's the pilot to head back to San Francisco Bay.
"Just one question Goodsworth, How do you control other regions?" asked Marco.
"I have some associates. They are some of the most villainous masterminds that used to raise hell in the Japanese Region, that was till Ash and the pokemon league rounded them up. I aided in freeing them in return I scattered them to different regions. The only region I have had trouble with is Japan. Everytime I sent someone, they were stopped by some other evil force the leader of that force is Giovanni." said Goodsworth.
"Then who is where?" asked Marco.
"I am going to have you handle this region. Maxie former Team Magma Leader is in Russia. Archie former Team Aqua Leader is in Germany. Cyrus former team Galactic Leader is in Britain. Ghetsis and Lysandre are currently in Japan trying to overthrow Giovanni. I have various other associates across the other regions. Once the main ones fall the other ones will follow." said Goodsworth.
"What about you?" asked Marco.
"I am the Surpreme Leader I watch over it all." said Goodsworth.
"Ok when will they fall?" asked Marco.
"They will fall before March. Since it is October we have about 5 monthes." said Goodsworth.
"One last question why Germany and not China?" asked Marco.
"You see China is not a concern. Germany is because that is the home to where the last Champion's League meet. We do not want that to happen. Also I should warn you about Claus he is no longer a member of team DD he is a traitor and will be punished." said Claus.
Their helicopter took off in the direction of San Fran. leaving DC behind them. DD is building an army who is going to stop them now knowing that other region's could also fall.
Another Chapter is finished. We now know that Marco as joined up with Goodsworth in hope to destroy the US League. We also have learned that Goodsworth has some of the most villainous associates. Andrew won his match and had some stern words for Marco. The next chapter will go and focus on Emma, Brady, and Katie's gym battle. After that battle they will leave Hawaii the following day to North Carolina for the 6th gym leader. We have a while before the DD's plan really comes to the surface. Till it does we will see bits and pieces of it coming together.
