(Friday Afternoon in Hilo)
"Now that the battle is over we should head to the gym." said Brady.
"Let's go then." said Emma standing up.
"I'm right behind you." said Katie.
They walk out of the pokemon center and into the town.
"Now where is the gym?" asked Brady to Emma.
"If you are looking for the gym. Just follow this path down the road you will see it." said someone walking over to them.
This some one was dressed in a blue and white pollo shirt. He had blue jeans on and a beanie on.
"Hey Zac." said Brady.
Zac is one of Brady's friends from school. Brady has not seen him since June. Zac started with Chimchar and he started a month before Brady. In school Zac had a thing for Katie, but she never showed any feeling back to him. Zac is 17 years old.
"Hey Brady have not seen you in awhile." said Zac.
"What have you been up to?" asked Brady.
"I've been training to rebattle the gym leader here. I lost my frist time against. She is tough." said Zac.
"We better go then we will catch you after we win our gym battles." said Brady.
"Good luck you three. Especially you Katie I woul love to see you win and maybe after you will allow me to take you to dinner." said Zac.
Before Katie got in a responce Emma answered for her.
"Zac she will go otu with you tonight." said Emma.
"No I won't. I don't even like him. I have someone else anyway." said Katie.
"Come on just one date." said Zac.
"I have a better way to solve this." said Katie taking out one of her pokeballs.
"You want to battle me?" asked Zac.
"Yes just a one on one battle, If I win you will leave me alone." said Katie.
"If I win you go to dinner with me." said Zac.
"Deal." said Katie.
"I will ref this match then." said Emma.
The four of them walked over to the arena behind the pokemon center and Katie and Zac took there spots on the arena.
(Battle: Zac vs. Katie)
"I will go first." said Zac.
"That's fine with me." said Katie.
"Monferno, I call for you." said Zac.
"Ok then I wil go with Espeon." said Katie.
"Monferno use flamethrower."
"Espeon stop the attack with Confusion."
Monferno sent out a stream of blazing fire right at Espeon. Espeon's eyes turned blue and flamethrower was stopped in its tracks. Espeon then flicked her head and sent the attack back at Monferno. Monferno brought up his arms to protect his face from any damage.
"Monferno fury swipes."
"Espeon wait till he attacks you then use shadow ball."
Monferno ran over to Espeon and started slashing at her in rapid session. Espeon took the attack twice before unleashing a powerful dark shadowy ball right into Monferno's gut. Monferno was sent flying back to his trainer. Monferno landed hard in front of Zac. Monferno jumped back to his feet.
"Espeon use psybeam."
Espeon shots out a ray of colors from her ed gem on her head. Again Monferno was hit with the colorful rays and it not only did a lot of damage but it also confused Monferno. The confused Monferno fell on to his back.
"Come on Monferno you have to get up." said Zac.
Katie and her Espeon watched as Monferno struggled to get back on his feet. Monferno manged to get back to his feet. Then the worst thing happened Monferno triggered his abilty blaze. The flame on Monferno's tail grew exponentially and his eyes turned almost pink. Monferno had a crazed look in his eyes.
"Zac you have to stop that I have seen that before in Cole's Ivysaur the result will not end good." said Katie.
"Monferno can handle it I know he can." said Zac.
Katie had a nervous look on her face. She has to do something, but what. She seen how Andrew stopped it how can she do something. Even before Monferno was given an attack he attacked Espeon with flame wheel. The intesnity of the flame wheel was hard to believe. Once it hit Espeon she let out a cry and was sent behind her trainer. Monferno was still in his flame wheel waiting to see if Espeon can get up.
"Chandelure use psychic on Monferno." said a voice coming from behind everyone.
Chandelure's psychic stopped Monferno and forced him out of his flame wheel. The man that stopped Monferno was in a white shirt an unzipped grey jacket that looks similar to the one Andrew wears from time to time. He had blue jeans and white shoes on. He was older then Brady, and Emma.
"Kid why did you try that move?" asked the man.
"Who are you first?" asked Zac.
"Sorry allow me to introduce myself I am Marc Romo I am the head of the Elite Four." said Marc.
"I thought Monferno could control blaze." said Zac.
"Kid you have a lot to learn if you actually thought he could master that type of power already. You should have called off this battle when you saw the signs of Monferno using blaze." said Marc.
"I know I was warned by someone else before not to try it." said Zac.
"You should've taken that person's advice. Next time you try it someone may not be able to stop it before Monferno does serious harm to himself or another pokemon." said Marc.
"I am sorry Katie for trying that on Espeon I should have stopped the battle before he tried that." said Zac.
"It's ok Zac. We all make mistakes." said Katie.
"There is a lesson to be learned here. When using ablites like Blaze, Overgrow, or Torrent it should be used when a pokemon can completely handle the extra power boast the pokemon recives from it. If not the results can and will be catastrophic." said Marc.
"Marc I thought you should be in DC not in Hilo?" asked Katie.
"Young lady I am here on business. The Champion is not the only one that handles problems. He can and will send his elite four out to aid where they can." said Marco.
"Then why are you here?" asked Katie.
"Offical League business. I am not at Liberty to share that info with you." said Marc.
"Katie lets go get Espeon healed." said Emma.
"Allow me to do that. Chandelure use heal pluse on Espeon." said Marc.
Chandelure hovered over Espeon and let out a pink pulse that healed up Espeon. After reciving that pulse Espeon shot up back to her feet and walked over to her trainer. Marc returned Chandelure and left. He walked in the direction of the Volcano National Park. Zac returned Monferno and walked into the Pokemon Center. Katie did the same to her Espeon, but they walked over to the gym.
(At the Gym)
Once inside the gym they looked around for the gym leader. She was not there they sat down and waited. They had to wait for about 10 minutes before the gym leader had returned. Shw was out surfing. She had a flame red board in arm and in the other arm was her wet suit. She was a tall young lady she had a tank top on and black shorts on. The shorts looked like mens swimtrunks.
"Are you three looking for me?" she asked.
"As long as you are the gym leader then yeah we are." said Brady.
"I am. My name is Pauahi, but you can call me Flare." said Flare.
"Nice to meet you I am Brady. Next to me is Emma, and behind her is her younger sister Katie." said Brady.
"Nice to meet you three. I will battle you just let me put my surfboard away." said Flare.
Flare walked off upstairs. Flare put her wetsuit down and set her surfboard in the closet. She also threw a shirt over her tank top and returned to where the three was waiting for her.
"Now that I am ready let's get this underway then." said Flare.
Flare showed them to the arena where they will be battling.
"Is it always this hot in here?" asked Katie.
"Yes it is my fire type pokemon love it in here, and you get use to it if you have been battling in here as long as I have." said Flare.
"Does this effect pokemon?" asked Katie.
"Most of the time it does not." said Flare.
"I guess I will go first then." said Katie.
"Ok. Your friends will have to watch from the TV in the wainting room." said Flare.
As Brady and Emma walked out of the arena another surfer walked in. He is the ref for the match. Brady and Emma sat down again in the waiting room and turned on the TV to watch how Katie does.
(Gym Battle: Katie vs. Flare)
"This will be a four on four pokemon battle. Only the Challenger can subsitute pokemon. If both you are ready we can begin the battle." said the ref.
"Go Slugma." said Flare.
"Go Poliwhirl." said Katie.
"Slugma use flamethrower."
"Poliwhirl use water gun."
Slugma opened his mouth and out came a stream of fire. This stream of fire went right for Poliwhirl. A stream of water came out of Poliwhirl's belly. Both attacks meet head on. Poliwhirl's water gun easily overtook Slugma's flamethrower and Slugma was hit with the attack. Slugma's head whipped from side to side as he is pounded by the water gun.
"Slugma use recover."
"Poliwhirl use bubblebeam."
Slugma's body begun to glow white as he recovered some of his stamina from the battle. Poliwhirl shot a series of bubbles out of his belly. They popped as soon as bubbles made contact. This move did even more to Slugma. Even after this move Slugma stayed strong.
"Slugma use smog."
"Poliwhirl use hydro pump."
Slugma discharged some the most flithy purple gas from his body. As Poliwhirl was hit with this gas he stil shot off a torrent of water at Slugma. Slugma was hit with the water and he was unable to ewcover from it. The outcoome for Poliwhirl was differnt, yes he was hit with smog, but he was also poisoned by the gas. Poliwhirl was dealt damage as the poison raveaged his body.
"Slugma is unable to battle, Poliwhirl wins." said the ref.
"Slugma return, and go Torkoal." said Flare.
"Poliwhirl return, and go Absol." said Katie.
"Torkoal use body slam."
"Absol use detect. Then use quick attack."
Absol used his speed to avoid Torkoal using body slam on him. After avoiding the attack Absol slammed into to Torkoal. It had seemed that Torkoal took barely to no damage from that attack.
"Torkoal is great for defense. If you want to beat him you are going to have to do better then that." said Flare.
"I know what to do now." said Katie.
"Torkoal use iron defense."
"Absol use slash."
Rather then a slash attack Absol begun to whip up wind around him. As the wind begun to stir Torkoal incased himself in a hard coated iron body that raises Torkoal's already high defense stat even higher. Seconds after Torkoal did that Absol unleashed a fury of blades of wind at Torakol. Those blades of wind did some damage each time they hit.
"Absol return, and go Poliwhirl." said Katie.
"Intresting you weakened Torkoal with Absol and you are going to use your poisioned Poliwhirl to finish the battle." said Flare.
"Poliwhirl use hydro pump."
"Torkoal use protect."
The weakened Poliwhirl unleashed a torrent of water at Torkoal. As the water rushed at him Torkoal brought up a green shield which took all the damage of the hydro pump. After using hydro pump the posion did some more damage to Poliwhirl. Katie is begining to get worried about how much more Poliwhirl will be able to do.
"Torkoal use iron defense."
"Poliwhirl use bubblebeam."
Again Torkoal coated himself in an iron coat that rasies his defense. Poliwhirl shot out a series of bubble from his belly and they went at Torkoal. They popped near Torkoal's face. The attack did even more damage to Torkoal. Torkoal still stood strong after taking bubblebeam. Poliwhirl was getting weaker as the battle progressed.
"Torkoal use body slam."
"Poliwhirl use hydro pump."
Torkoal jumps into the air and plans to land on Poliwhirl. Poliwhirl shot a torrent of water at Torkoal's underbelly when he was in the air. The attack knocked Torkoal off blanced and Torkoal fell to the ground on his back. Torkoal was unable to withstand the attack and fall, he fainted. Poliwhirl fell to one knee when poison did its thing through his body.
"Torkoal is unable to battle, Poliwhirl wins." said the ref.
"Return Torkoal. These last two pokemon are no easy task to get past so good luck. Go Heatmor." said Flare.
"Return Poliwhirl, and go Pidgeotto." said Katie.
"Heatmor use flamethrower."
"Pidgeotto fly around to aviod the flamethrower then hit him with wing attack."
Heatmor unleashed a powerful stream of flames at Katie's Pidgeotto. Pidgeotto flew around the arena to avoid Heatmor's fire attack. Once Pidgeotto was behind Heatmor heflew at him with his wings glowing all white. Pidgeotto nailed Heatmor in the back once. As Pideotto went to hit him again Heatmor grabbed him with his tongue. Pidgeotto was trapped and could not move.
"Pidgeotto use peck on his tongue."
"Heatmor use fury swipes on Pidgeotto."
Pidgeotto's beck glown white as he tried to peck Heatmor's tongue. The attempt failed as Heatmor slashed at him multiple times with his arms. Even after hitting Pidgeotto with it Heatmor still didn't relase him.
"Heatmor use fire punch."
Heatmor now gripped Pidgotto in one of his arms as his other was readyed to deliver a desvistating fire punch. Once Pidgeotto was with the firey punch Heatmor tossed him back at his trainer like a peice of trash. Pidgeotto was not able to recover from the damage he had sustained this battle was over.
"Pidgeotto is unable to battle, Heatmor wins." said the ref.
"Pidgeotto return, and go Absol." said Katie.
"Heatmor use fire punch again."
"Absol dodge it then use slash."
Absol used his speed to dodge Heatmor firey fist attack. Once he did Absol ran at Heatmor and attacked Heatmor in a slashing motion with his scythe. Heatmor fell down onto one knee after taking that hit.
"Absol razor wind."
"Heatmor flame burst"
Heatmor opened his ant eater like mouth and shot out a burst of flames that was sent right at Absol. As this was happening Absol whipped up a storm of wind. After he finished whipping the storm up he sent the razor like wind at Heatmor. The wind blades stopped Heatmor's flame burst and still attacked Flare's Heatmor. Heatmor was cut up by the wind and after the finally stopped attacking him the battle was over.
"Heatmor is unable to battle, Absol wins." said the ref.
"That Absol sure is strong, but I do not think he can beat my last pokemon. Go Flareon." said Flare.
"Absol use slash."
"Flareon use dig. Then attack him with iron tail."
Flareon dug herself underground to aviod Absol slash attack. Flareon then dug up right under Absol and tried to attack him. Absol jumped into the air to dodge the attack. Flareon then changed her attack into iron tail and smacked Absol right into the ground.
"Flareon use flamethrower."
"Absol detect, then use iron tail."
Again Absol was able to out speed Flareon's stream of fire. Absol then rushed at Flareon with his tail coated in iron. Absol's iron tail smashed into the face of Flareon who took a lot of damage from that attack.
"Flareon use flare blitz."
"Absol use razor wind."
Flareon at frist glown blue, then as she rushed at Absol she changed into a red color. Absol whipped the air around again as Flareon rushed at him. Absol was unable to send the wind blades at Flareon because he was attacked. Flare blitz did a lot of damage to Absol and he fainted. The attack only did damage to Absol what Flareon was hit with some recoil.
"Absol is unable to battle, Flareon wins." said the ref.
"Thanks Absol for your help return. Go Poliwhirl." said Katie.
"Flareon use iron tail."
"Polwhirl use hydro pump."
Flareon rushed at Poliwhirl with her tail glowing sliver because of iron tail. As she rushed at Poliwhirl she was blasted back by a torrent of water from Poliwhirl, but it had seemed that this hydro pump was not as stron as the one used on Torkoal. Flareon was sent back near her trainer but was quickly back onto her feet. However Poliwhirl was not so lucky as the posion did enough to Poliwhirl to finally knock him down. Poliwhirl was not able to recover from the damage and fainted. Flareon was able to take out two of Katie's pokemon. She was left with the hard desesion of which pokemon is going to be her last.
"Poliwhirl return, and go Espeon." said Katie.
"So it seems like we are going to have an Eeveelution battle." said Flare.
"I guess we are." said Katie.
"Flareon use fire fang."
"Espeon stop her with confusion, then toss her back."
The teeth inside Flareon's mouth become surrounded by flames as she ran at Espeon. Espeon's purple eyes turned blue to stop the attack and most of all stop Flareon. Espeon then flicked her head and sent Flareon almost into her trainer.
"Espeon finish the battle with psybeam."
Espeon shot off a multiple color ray at the downed Flareon who was trying to get back to her feet. The attempt was all for not once she was hit with the ray of colors Espeon shot from the bead on her head. Even after taking this hit Flareon kept going, but she was confused.
"Flareon use flare blitz."
"Espeon use shadow ball."
Flareon tried to get to use her attack, but she ended up hurting herself. Flareon not only did damage to herself but ahe also took the purple shadowy ball from Espeon that did even more damage. After taking the shadow ball Flareon couldn't go on. The battle is over Katie has won her 5th gym badge. Flare had returned her Flareon and had walked over to Katie.
"Congrates on your hard fought victory. You deserve this flame badge as a sign that you have won. Now you can send in my next oppenet." said Flare.
"I will." said Katie leaving towards where Emma and Brady were sitting and watching the battle.
(In the Waiting Room)
"Good job Katie." said Emma.
"So who's going next?" asked Katie.
"I will." said Brady.
Brady walks out of the waiting room nd walks over to the arena where Flare was waiting fo him.
"I see you're my next challenger." said Flare.
"Yes I am." said Brady.
(Gym Battle: Brady vs. Flare)
"This will be a four on four battle. The challenger is the only one that can subsitute at any time. This battle will be over when one trainer's pokemon cannot battle." said the ref.
"I will go first. Go Darumaka." said Flare
"Go Timburr." said Brady.
"Darumaka use headbutt."
"Timburr use your logs to block that attack, then use brick break."
Darumaka slams head first right into Timburr's log. This stuns Darumaka for a moment. Then Timburr brings his hand down on his head. Darumaka was able to continue on.
"Darumaka use fire punch."
"Timburr use pound."
Darumaka's fist becomes surrounded by fire, Darumaka runs at Timburr. Timburr slams his square log into the side of Darumaka. This action sends Darumaka back at his trainer.
"Darumaka use flamethrower."
"Timburr use your log to protect yourself."
Timburr slamed his log into the ground to protect himself from the stream of fire. At frist it looked like the log would survive but eventually the fire burned through the log and hits Timburr. Timburr is being pushed back as the attack hits him. That was till he stated to glow white. Timburr was evolving. Timburr grew larger in size and taller. Rather then a log he now carries I-beam. Brady's Timburr was now a Gurdurr. After evolving Gurdurr picked up a rock from the arena and tossed it at Darumaka. The rock broke over Darumaka's head and ended the battle.
"Darumaka is unable to battle, Gurdurr wins." said the ref.
"Return Darumaka. and go Simisear." said Flare.
"Gurdurr I am going to stick with you." said Brady.
"Simisear use rock slide."
"Gurdurr use pound."
Before Gurdurr could attack Simisear hurdles rocks at him. Gurdurr is hit with these rocks and is pinned under them. Gurdurr struggles to get himself free from these rocks, he was uanble to land an attack this time around.
"Simisear use acrobatics."
Simisear quickly attack Gurdurr with his nimble feet. This attack did a lot of damage to Gurdurr. Gurdurr was unable to withstand this super effective attack.
"Gurdurr is unable to battle, Simisear wins." said the ref.
"Return Gurdurr and go Nuzleaf." said Brady.
"A grass type will not be able to take a fire type attack from my pokemon." said Flare.
"I know you have the advantage." said Brady.
"Simisear use flamethrower."
"Nuzleaf dodge it then use shadow ball."
Nuzleaf used his speed to dodge Simisear's stream of fire. Nuzleaf then shot off a purple shadowy ball at Simisear. The shadow ball nails Simisear in the gut. It sends Simisear relling back towards his trainer.
"Simisear use acrobatics."
"Bullet seed Nuzleaf."
Simisear tried to quickly attack Nuzleaf, but he he could not. Nuzleaf in return shot out a dozen or more seeds at Simisear. The seeds had little to no effect on Simisear.
"Simisear use fury swipes."
"Nuzleaf dodge it then use energy ball."
Nuzleaf again used his speed to dodge Simisear's attack. Nuzleaf in return shot of a green ball of energy at Simisear. The energy ball nailed Simisear in the gut and sent him flying to the left of his trainer.
"Nuzleaf use sloar beam."
Simisear was still on the ground as Nuzleaf took in a lot of sunlight. By time Simisear got back to his feet it was to late for to do anything. Simisear was blasted by a beam of yellow. This beam nailed Simisear and sent back to the ground. This battle was over for Simisear.
"Simisear is unable to battle, Nuzleaf wins." said the ref.
"I'll be damned a grass actually beat a fire type. Well lets see if you can do that again. Return Simisear, and go Heatmor." said Flare.
"Return Nuzleaf and go Prinplup." said Brady.
"Heatmor use slash."
"Prinplup use bubblebeam."
Prinplup shot out a series of bubbles at the charging Heatmor. The bubbles popped in Heatmor's face. The attack stopped Heatmor cold and sent him retreating towards his trainer.
"Heatmor use flamethrower."
"Prinplup use hydro pump."
Heatmor unleashed a stream of fire at Prinplup who in return shot off a torrent of water the blasted right through Heatmor's attack and attacked him. After getting hit with Prinplup's hydro pump Heatmor fell on his back unable to continue on.
"Heatmor is uanble to battle, Prinplup wins." said the ref.
"This will be my last pokemon so let's get right to it. Go Slugma." said Flare.
"Prinplup I will continue with you." said Brady.
"Slugma use smog."
"Prinplup use bubblebeam."
Slugma released a vile smelling gas from his body. As he did so Prinplup unleashed a series of bubbles at Slugma. Prinplup inhaled the smog and became poisoned. Slugma was also hit with the bubbles. Both took damage but kept on fighting. Prinplup was also dealt damage from the posion corusing through his body.
"Prinplup use hydro pump."
"Slugma use harden to take the damage."
Slugma became rock hard to try to absorb the damage that hydro pump is about to deal. Prinplup shot out of his beck a torrent of water that was considerably weaker then his hydro pump agianst Heatmor, but it still hit Slugma who was able to withstand the attack. Prinplup on the other hand was dealt more damage from poison.
"Return Prinplup, and go Growlithe." said Brady.
"Slugma use rock throw."
"Growlithe use flame wheel."
Growlithe cloaked himself in fire and went right at Slugma. Slugma lifted and sent a rock at Growlithe. Growlithe broke that rock with flame wheel and hits Slugma who was dealt some damage from the attack.
"Slugma use flamethrower."
"Take down Growlithe."
Slugma unleashed a stream of fire at Growlithe. This stream of fire didn't stop Growlithe from tackling Slugma with so much force that Growlithe did damage to himself. Growlithe took flamethrower because of his ablity Flash Fire. Slugma thoguh was not so lucky he fell into a pile of lava.
"Slugma is uanble to battle, Growlithe wins. Brady is the winner." said the ref.
Brady returned Growlithe and walked over to were Flare was waiting for him.
"Great job and smart thinking going to Growlithe at the end who wasn't effected by Slugma's fire attack. And here you get this as well." said Flare handing Brady the flame badge.
"Thank for the badge." said Brady.
"I think there is one of you left in the waiting area." said Flare.
"Yes, Emma is waiting for her chance to battle you." said BBrady
"Then can you send her in to battle me." said Flare.
"OK, I will send her in then." said Brady walking back to the waiting room.
(In the waiting Room)
"Good job on your win Brady." said Emma.
"Thanks Em. It's your turn against her to earn your 5th badge." said Brady.
" I know and I'm ready to battle her." said Emma leaving.
Emma walked out of the waiting room and over to the arena where Katie and Brady had battled and beaten Flare. There waiting for her was Flare.
(Gym Battle: Emma vs. Flare)
"This will be a four on four Pokemon battle. Only the challenger has the right to substitute Pokemon. The battle will now start." said the ref.
"I'll go first. Go Slugma." said Flare.
"Go Herdier." said Emma.
"Slugma us smog."
"Herdier use take down."
Slugma released vile smelling gas from his body and the gas went right at Herdier. Herdier ran right through the gas and took down Slugma. Herdier not only did damage to Slugma, but also himself. Herdier also had burned marks from Slugma's effect Flame Body.
"Slugma use flamethrower."
"Herdier dodge the attack and use take down again."
Herdier ran to the left of the stream of fire from Slugma to avoid it. Herdier then again took down Slugma. And just like last time Herdier paid a hefty price. She not only took the recoil damage, but she also took more damage from Slugma's flame body.
"Return Herdier, and go Swanna." said Emma.
"Slugma use rock throw."
"Swanna use water pulse."
Slugma lifted a small rock and sent it at Swanna. Swanna flew around the tossed rock and sent an orb of water at Slugma. The orb hit Slugma and he fell face down.
"Slugma is unable to battle, Swanna wins." said the ref.
"Slugma return, and go Torkoal." said Flare.
"Swanna use water pulse."
"Torkoal use protect."
Torkoal incased himself in a green shield which protected Torkoal from the orb of water sent at him from Swanna.
"Torkoal use iron defense."
"Swanna, water gun."
Swanna opened her beck and sent out a stream of water at Torkoal who coated himself in iron which increased his defense. However, Torkoal was still blasted by the water gun. He took some damage from it. Torkoal still stood strong after it.
"Torkoal use flamethrower."
"Swanna dodge it then use water pulse."
Swanna flew around the stream of flames Torkoal shot of his mouth to avoid it. She then shot a orb of cool blue water at Torkoal. Once Torkoal was hit with the attack he was dealt a lot of damage and was also confused.
"Swanna use bubblebeam."
"Torkoal use iron defense."
Swanna opened her beck and shot out a series of bubbles at the confused Torkoal who tried to coat himself in iron, but he was unable to and rather did damage to himself. The bubbles from Swanna popped in Torkoal's face and did a lot of damage and Torkoal fell onto his belly.
"Torkoal is unable to battle, Swanna wins." said the ref.
"Return Torkoal and go Magmar." said Flare.
"Swanna use water gun."
"Magmar use hidden power."
Swanna opened her beck and unleashed a stream of clear water at Magmar. Magmar in return unleashed a powerful electric type attack from hidden power. The jolt of lighting hit Swanna and she falls to the ground from the sky.
"What? How how'd that happen?" asked Emma.
"Hidden power is an attack that depends on how the pokemon is trained. My Magmar happens to be able to use thunder hidden power." said Flare.
"Magmar use flamethrower."
"Swanna use steel wing."
Swanna kicked off the ground and her wings became coated in steel as she flew at Flare's Magmar. Magmar on the other hand opened his mouth and out came a stream of fire that stopped the charging Swanna. Swanna was sent back right into her trainer knocking both to the ground. Emma held Swanna's head in her arms and told her thank you
"Swanna is unable to battle, Magmar wins." said the ref.
Emma returns Swanna and stands back up. Emma shook off getting hit with her Swanna and was ready to go with her next pokemon.
"Go Roggenrola." said Emma.
"Magmar use fire punch."
"Roggenrola use stone edge."
Magmar's right hand became coated in flames as he ran at Roggenrola. Roggenrola had rocks circling his body and as soon as Magmar got close to him he sent the at Magmar who stopped his attack to cover his face from the rocks.
"Magmar use brick break."
"Roggenrola use protect."
Roggenrola incased himself in a green shield which would protect him from Magmar's super effective attack. Magmar ran over to where the shield had protected Roggenrola and Magmar tried to hit it a few times, but nothing happened.
"Magmar use brick break."
"Roggenrola use stone edge one more time, but this time take the hit from Magmar then blast him."
Magmar ran at Roggenrola and he chopped Roggenrola's head. Roggenrola fell to the ground, but got right back up and sent Magmar back as he was attacked by the rocks around Roggenrola's body. Magmar fell onto his back.
"Magmar is unable to battle, Roggenrola wins." said the ref.
"Return Magmar and go Flareon." said Flare.
"Return Roggenrola and go Combusken." said Emma.
"You know Emma that was a bit risky allowing Roggenrola to take that brick break. You relied on his ability Sturdy to save him, but this is my best pokemon so I hope you are ready for her." said Flare.
"Combusken and I are ready for anything Flareon can dish out." said Emma.
"I hope so." said Flare.
"Combusken use flamethrower."
"Flareon take the hit and then use your own flamethrower."
Combusken opened his beck and out came a stream of fire that hits Flareon and does nothing to her though. It was Flareon's ability flash fire that allowed her to be immune to any fire type attacks. Flareon then unleashed her own flamethrower which was even more powerful then Combusken's again because of flash fire. Combusken also took the super powered flamethrower and not much damage was done to him.
"Flareon use iron tail."
"Combusken use double kick."
Flareon's tail was coated in iron as she went at Combusken, but she was stopped when Combusken kicked her face once. As Flareon was stunned by the first kick she was kicked again on the other side of her face.
"Combusken use peck."
"Flareon use dig to dodge the attack."
Combusken rushed at Flareon with his beck all white. Flareon dug underground to dodge the attack from Combusken. She then dug up right under Combusken and hit him right into the air. Combusken later crashed in the exact same spot.
"Combusken return and go Roggenrola."
"Flareon use flamethrower."
"Use protect, Roggenrola."
Roggenrola incased himself in a shield which protected him from the stream of fire the Flareon shot out.
"Roggenrola use stone edge."
Rocks circled around Roggenrola's body for a few seconds. He then sent them at Flareon who took a lot of damage from the sharp rocks. Flareon fell on her body and the battle has came to an end.
"Flareon is unable to battle, Roggenrola wins. Emma is the winner." said the ref.
Flare walked over to her fainted friend and thanked her for all her hard work and returned her. Flare then walked over to Emma and gave her the flame badge. Flare then walked out with Emma and over to Katie and Brady who were waiting for Emma to Congratulate her.
"You three collected your 5th gym badge. From here you will now head to Charleston, SC to battle the flying pokemon gym leader. I wish you three good luck and I hope you accomplish your goals. Now I must head back to catching some waves." said Flare running back upstairs.
(After the Gym Battle)
"We will be leaving tomorrow to head to South Carolina." said Brady.
"Where are we leaving from?" asked Emma.
"Hilo Airport." said Brady.
"We should head back to the pokemon center and get our pokemon healed." said Emma.
They walked back over to the pokemon center and gave the nurse their pokemon to heal them up before they leave tomorrow. They spent the rest of the day resting at the pokemon center.
(Near Mauna Loa)
"I didn't know Andrew was sending me some help." said Harold.
"He asked me to come since he his getting ready to leave soon and he wanted to check up on you guys." said Marc.
"I can't blame him. He wants to see some results of this expeditions." said Harold.
"Yeah he does. He fills like this has been a waste of time if we find nothing." said Marc.
"Ok I will work harder to find something." said Harold.
"That's all I want to hear so I can give Andrew something when I call him later." said Marc.
Marc leaves Harold and heads back to Hilo to call Andrew.
(In Hilo)
"Hey Marc." said Andrew when he answered his phone.
"You are right. Harold and Juan are working hard to figure out the sleeping giants location." said Marc.
"That's good to hear. Marc you are done in Hawaii get your ass back to DC. I need to run the league while I am gone." said Andrew.
"How long are you going to be gone this time?" asked Marc.
"I don't have a time table for my return right now. The only answer I can give you is I will be back when I can." said Andrew.
"We need to discuss something on when you get back then." said Marc.
"What would that be?" asked Andrew.
"I had to intervene in a battle when I trainer was using blaze on a Monferno. We need to stress to these new trainers the negatives on using those type of abilities till their pokemon is fully evolved." said Marc.
"Ok we will talk about it in Richmond VA. The sight of the next major Contest. this way we will have a big crowd there. It is also home to the 7th gym leader too so trainers should be there to battle him." said Andrew.
"That sounds fine I will talk to you when I get back." said Marc hanging up.
I know this should have been out Friday, but I had a PC problem and I just bought a new one yesterday. I would have uploaded it yesterday, but I had other things to do. I have been without a PC since Thursday so I was unable to talk about what I had planned for this story being out a year. Anyway I also will inform readers and those following and reading this story that I will be starting another pokemon story next month. I will be looking for OC's. I will put the Oc Forum in the later chapters. All I will tell is this one will be based in the anime and I will use anime charters. Their ages will be the same as I have set in an early chapter.
On to this story. The next chapter will be out Friday and will continue the trend of every Friday. Thankfully I had someone else write the chapter so it will be out Friday as planned. The next three or four chapters will take away focus from our three travelers and put it on Andrew and Dan.
