Like I said previously this Chapter will now backtrack to see what Emma, Brady, and Katie had accomplished while Andrew was away with Dan.
(Saturday Morning)
Emma, Brady and Katie are up inside the Pokemon Center just waiting to head to the airport to leave to South Carolina. They are all packed up and are just waiting for the bus that stops near the Pokemon Center to take them Hilo International Airport. It was 6am when the bus finally showed up. The bus had one more stop before going to the airport. Once the bus got to the airport Emma, Brady and Katie stopped at the ticket counter to get checked in. Next was Security and last was just waiting for the airplane to be ready.
"Do we have any stops before getting to South Carolina?" asked Emma.
"Yeah the plane stops in California and Texas after those two stops we should be going to Charleston," said Brady.
After waiting for a half an hour they finally boarded the plane and know they had to wait for the plane to take off. Emma and Brady were in one row with Emma closer to the window and Brady in the middle. Katie was in the row behind them. She too was looking out the window. The last person to board the airplane was Brady's friend Zac. He finally beat the 5th gym leader last night. He sat right next to Katie who paid no attention to him. After he took a seat the plane flinally left towards Sacramento International Airport.
(On the Plane)
Zac you beat Flare finally?" asked Brady.
"Yeah I did," said Zac.
"That's good so you going to take on the 6th now like us?" asked Brady.
"I am," said Zac.
Zac looked over to Katie who still wasn't talking to him.
"Nice Necklace," said Zac examining Katie's Adamant Necklace.
"Thanks," said Katie.
"Where'd you get it?" asked Zac.
"A friend gave it to me," said Katie.
"Was it someone from school?" asked Zac.
"No, he isn't from our school," said Katie.
"What guy would have gave you that?" asked Zac.
"He is one of the nicest guys I meet on this journey," said Katie.
"Katie you have to give me more than that," said Zac.
"Zac it was Andrew," said Emma.
"The Champion Andrew?" asked Zac.
"Yeah that one," said Emma.
"Why the hell would he give that to her?" asked Zac.
"He gave it to me on my birthday," said Katie getting mad at the tone Zac was using.
"How did you even meet him?" asked Zac.
"He saved my life when I fell off an edge in Hopkinton We became friends since," said Katie.
"I would say more than friends if he gave you that necklace," said Zac.
"Does it matter to you Zac if it is anything more?" asked Katie.
"Yeah it does I like you Katie and you know that and how often do you even see him?" asked Zac.
"More then you think," said Katie.
"When was the last time?" asked Zac.
"I saw him and went to his family's lab when we were in Sacramento," said Katie.
Zac got up from his sit to use the bathroom and he whispered to himself.
"Katie when I win the Champion's Cup and beat Andrew I'll win your heart from him," whispered Zac to himself.
The rest of the ride to Sacramento was quiet. Zac occasionally talked to Brady but that's all. Katie fell asleep in her seat so did Emma. Brady read a newspaper he bought while he was in the airport. Brady was reading and article that was published by the Pokemon League talking about their recent battle with Marco. The article was published in a newspaper in DC, but a lot of the other newspapers already had printed the same article. Brady read some of the quotes each person said. Morgan wrote "Marco is a ruthless battler that needs to learn how to show compassion to his pokemon." Tina went to say something along the same so did Melissa. It is what Andrew and Marc said about it that really shocked Brady.
Marc went on to say: "Marco can careless what happens to his pokemon. He shows his opponent no respect and will show them that he better than them."
Last but not least this is what Andrew said: "Marco has no heart and no remorse for his actions. He doesn't care who or what he hurts he just wants to win. If it means doing serious harm to another's pokemon he will. I can't even think of a reason to do such a think. A person like that shouldn't have a pokemon."
Brady set the newspaper down as they landed in Sacramento. The pilot then got onto the com to explain what was going to happen.
"If this is your stop you will then make your way to the exit in an orderly fashion. If this is not your stop please just sit and wait we'll be leaving shortly. Thank you," said the pilot.
As the pilot was talking Emma and Katie woke up. Katie got her glasses out of her bag and put them back on. She then sat up and stretched.
"Did the pilot say how long we going to be here?" asked Katie towards Brady.
"No he didn't. He did say we wouldn't be here long," said Brady.
"Ok thanks Brady," said Katie looking out the window.
The plane was in Sacramento for another hour before it took off towards Austin, Texas. That would be a 4 hour flight. There wasn't much to do on the plane for the three of them. Emma and Katie pulled out a book to read and Brady decided he would get some sleep. Zac still just sat there quiet. An hour into the flight Katie had stopped reading and looked outside daydreaming. Emma had drifted off to sleep again.
(In Austin, Texas)
It was a long two hours for the three of them. It is about to get even longer because of an unexpected delay in flight times. The delay was because of the storm that was blowing through Texas leaving some destruction and mass power outages. This was not the only plane that was unable to leave the airport.
"We are going to be stuck here for the remainder of the day. I'm extremely sorry for any trouble this may cause you. We are expecting to leave early tomorrow," said the pilot.
The flight attendants helped all the passengers exit the plane. After the plane was empty it left all the passengers stranded in the airport. The passengers had one of two choices. Either go check into a hotel that the airport have set them up with or stay in the airport till tomorrow to leave on time.
"So what do you want to do?" asked Brady.
"I think we should just stay here," said Katie.
"I agree with that," said Emma.
"Ok then we will stay here today," said Brady.
"I'll stay with you guys," said Zac.
"That's fine Zac," said Brady.
The four of them found a spot on the floor of the waiting area to board the plane. The reason they choose the floor is because the other passengers took the seats.
"I'm going to go look for some food," said Emma.
"I'll go with you," said Katie.
The two girls left the waiting area and walked around the airport for a place to get some quick food. They ended up going to a burger shop and getting everyone burgers and fires. They were on their way back till a battle happening in a waiting area caught Katie's attention.
"Katie you can go ahead and check it out," said Emma.
"Thanks," said Katie walking off.
"Katie before you go take these," said Emma handing her a small bag of two burgers and fries.
Katie grabbed the bag and walked over to the battle to see what was happening. It was a battle between a Metang and a Heracross. It had seemed that the Heracross had the advantage to start, but by the end Metang managed to pull off the victory.
"That means that kid beat everyone in this waiting area," said a Spectator.
"Whose next," said the kid.
The kid was dressing a polo grey shirt and has it tucked into his blue jeans. His white shoes are extremely bright in the light. His hair was slicked to the back and he a pair of glasses. This kid was very smart. And he relied on his smarts to out due his Spectators just looked around trying to see if anyone is willing to step up. Katie finished her food and walked up to him. Katie is a smart girl and should be able to match him when it comes to it. The only difference of these two trainers is one gym badge. The kid has six while Katie has only five.
"I'll battle you," said Katie.
"And who are you lass," said the kid.
"My name is Katie," said Katie.
"Why is a pretty girl like you battling you should be doing Contests," said the kid.
"I maybe a girl, but that doesn't mean I do not know how to battle," said Katie flashing her five badges.
"I don't care how many badges you have I have 6 anyway," said the kid.
"Do you have a name?" asked Katie.
"My name is Finn, I am a battling prodigy from the Institute of Battling in Washington DC," said Finn.
"Let's not waste any more time than," said Katie.
"How many pokemon do you want to battle with?" asked Finn.
"You can decide that," said Katie.
"Four on Four we both can substitute at any time," said Finn.
"Fine with me," said Katie.
"I should tell you Katie that I have 6 badges," said Finn.
(Battle: Finn vs. Katie)
Finn's traveling partner served as the ref in this match.
"You have the honors first miss," said Finn.
"Go Vulpix," said Katie.
"Go Metang," said Finn.
"Vulpix use flamethrower,"
"Metang use confusion to counter the attack,"
Vulpix opened her mouth and unleashed a stream of fire that was sent at Metang. Metang's eyes glowed light blue and the flamethrower was surrounded by the same color. Metang's confusion had stopped Vulpix's attack cold. Metang then sent the attack flying over himself into the ceiling.
"Metang use take down,"
"Vulpix dodge it and use flamethrower,"
Vulpix dodged Metang charging at her. She then got ready and fried off a stream of fire at Metang. Metang had no time to react or counter the attack and he took the full force of the attack. Finn looked shocked that Metang took the full force of it because in the recent battles Metang usually attacked the other trainers pokemon before the other trainer could land an attack. Metang fell to the ground, but he didn't give up.
"Vulpix use flamethrower one last time,"
"Return Metang and go Kingler. Kingler use scald,"
Finn returned Metang and sent his Kingler. Once out Kingler sent a boiling hot stream of water. Vulpix as well sent out a stream of fire. The water went right thought the fire and nailed Vulpix. Vulpix fell onto her belly after taking that attack and she fainted.
"Vulpix is unable to battle, Kingler wins," said the ref.
"Return Vulpix and go Servine," said Katie.
"Kingler use crabhammer,"
"Servine use leaf tornado,"
Kingler's larger of his two pincers became coated in water and he moved toward Servine. Kingler had to stop when the leaves Servine sent at him started circling him. Kingler was than hit with the sharp leaves and it made him stop his attack and stand there.
"Servine use leaf blade,"
Servine ran at Kingler only to stop a few feet in front of him. Servine then jumped above Kingler and his leaves on his tail became a green blade and Servine nails the leaf blade on the head of Kingler. Kingler fell onto his body and fainted.
"Kingler is unable to battle, Servine wins," said the ref.
"Return Kingler and go Vibrava," said Finn.
"Return Servine and go Absol," said Katie.
"Vibrava use dragon breath,"
"Absol use detect, then use slash,"
Vibrava shot out green flames at Absol. Absol used his speed to avoid the stream and once he reached Vibrava Absol than jumped up and slashed at Vibrava. The scythe on Absol's head made contact on the back of Vibrava and it sent him into the ground. Before we could what happened the power went out in the airport. This sent TSA agents around the airport with flashlights to check on everyone. The flashlight were only temporary because the backup generator just kicked on restoring some of the lights back into the airport.
"Katie we will continue this battle later. Just consider it a tie for now," said Finn walking off with the ref.
Katie returned to her waiting area and sat down with Emma, Brady, and Zac.
"How long did that battle go on for?" asked Emma.
"It was over shortly after I started watching. After the match I ended up battling him, and because of the outage I was unable to finish the battle and win," said Katie.
For the remainder of the day to lights flickered off and on till the storm had finally past heading toward the gulf of Mexico. The airport managed to restore power just as night fell over the city. The four of them rolled out the sleeping bags the airport had provided.
"We better get some sleep because we have an early day tomorrow," said Emma.
"I agree with that," said Katie laying down inside the sleeping bag.
The clock in the airport struck 10:30pm and most of the airport was quiet. Most of the passengers stranded were asleep and the ones awake were just spending some time with their pokemon. One of those awake was Katie she was brushing her Espeon. Katie was sitting on the bench of the airport. The clock hit midnight when Katie had finally got some sleep.
(Sunday Morning)
It was a clear sunny day. Which meant that they will be able to get to Charleston today without any problems. It was 8:30am when they were finally able to board the plane. It took about an hour for everyone to board the plane and it was ready to leave.
"Good Morning passengers, This is your pilot speaking we are expecting a clear day so no unexpected delays, This will be about a about a three hour flight so sit back and relax. We have just been cleared for flying so please buckle up," said the pilot.
The passengers of the plane buckled their seatbelts as the plane took off from the runway. It only took moments before the plane was in the air and heading toward Charleston. 3 hours after leaving Austin they made it safe and sound to Charleston.
(In Charleston)
"We are finally here," said Emma.
"Yeah it only took us a day longer than it was suppose to," said Brady.
They left the airport on a bus into town. Once in town the four of them went over to the pokemon center.
"Good Morning," said the Nurse.
"Do you have any extra beds?" asked Brady.
"We do, How many do you need?" asked the Nurse.
"We need four," said Brady.
"If you would you can follow me and I'll show you to the beds," said the Nurse walking out from the counter.
Brady, Emma, Zac and Katie followed the Nurse upstairs and to the back of the Pokemon Center where there was about a dozen beds empty.
"Why do you have all these empty beds?" asked Katie to the Nurse.
"I would believe most people are in Richmond at the moment because the next pokemon contest is there in about four days," said the Nurse.
"Isn't there a gym in this city though?" asked Katie.
"You must mean the flying gym," said the Nurse.
"Yeah that would be the one," said Katie.
"Many trainers don't stay here after beating the gym because there is nothing to do here," said the Nurse.
"Why don't they stay?" asked Katie.
"Well the trainers say there isn't much here," said the Nurse.
"That sure is true," said Zac.
After he said that the gym leader Eli walked up the stairs. He had his salt and pepper hair slicked back. He had a grey shirt on and had a Fletchling perched on his shoulder. He had a black jeans on and sunglasses hanging out of his pocket. He had brown boots on. Eli looked over to the three of them standing next to the Nurse.
"I'll let you finish Nurse and I'll wait for you back downstairs," said Eli leaving.
"I'll be right with you," said the Nurse.
The Nurse finished showing to their beds where they set their bags down and followed the Nurse back downstairs and meet up with Eli.
"What is it Eli?" asked the Nurse towards Eli.
"The Daycare center are missing some pokemon. They ran off this morning. I was wondering if you have seen them?" asked Eli.
"I have not seen them," said the Nurse.
"These pokemon are just recently hatched that could be troubling since they don't know where anything is," said Eli.
"Check the woods they might be there," said the Nurse.
"I better go than," said Eli leaving the Pokemon Center.
"We should help him find them," said Katie.
"She's right," said Brady.
"We better go catch up to Eli then," said Emma.
The four of them ran out of the Pokemon Center and caught up to Eli who was walking towards the edge of town. He no longer had the Fletchling on his shoulder. Once they caught up to Eli he stopped and turned around to talk to them.
"I haven't seen you three since New Orleans," said Eli.
"We're here to challenge you for your gym badge," said Brady.
"You three already have five badges," said Eli.
"Yeah we do," said Brady.
"Once I find these five pokemon. I'll head back to the gym so we can battle then," said Eli.
"We are going to help you find them," said Brady.
"Great," said Eli.
They started walking toward the woods just outside town, when an assistant from the daycare center ran over to them. She had a pink baseball cap her head she had gray work shirt and blue skirt on she had white shoes on.
"Kelly what is it?" asked Eli.
"We have found the pokemon. They are in the forest hiding from a pack of Mightyena," said Kelly.
"Kelly go back to the Daycare Center. We'll go rescue them," said Eli.
Kelly walked back to the Daycare Center while Eli, Brady, Emma, Katie, and Zac ran towards the forest. It took them a few minutes when they finally got there.
(In the Forest)
Huddled around a tree surrounded by Mightyena was a Mawile, a Budew, a Teddiursa, a Pichu, and a Shinx. The Mightyena had them around the tree growling and prevented them from fleeing.
"How are we going to rescue them?" asked Zac.
"Distracting the Mightyena will allow us to get to them," said Eli.
"Who'd be willing to do that?" asked Zac.
"I'll get their attention, but you four have to rescue them and take them back into town," said Eli.
"Ok we can do that," said Katie.
"Hawlucha go," said Eli.
Hawlucha is a small, bipedal bird-like Pokémon. It has red, cape-like wings that are connected to its tail with green undersides and small clawed hands. It has red chest feathers, a white abdominal area and legs with small yellow feet. It has a green, mask-like face with an orange stripe down the middle, as well as orange rings around its eyes. Hawlucha has a small, red beak, and a white patch underneath it. It also has three orange tassle-like appendages jutting out of the back of its head. Its eyes have black sclera and large yellow irises.
"Hawlucha use Karate Chop on the one in front of us," said Eli.
Hawlucha flew over to the bigger bulkier one in front of him and once he was over him he landed to him and brought his hand down on to that Mightyena's back. It sent his body into the ground. This attack sent the other ones at Hawlucha. Hawlucha out maneuvered them as they tried to bite him. Hawlucha went into the air. The one the ground recovered and sent a shadow ball at Hawlucha.
"Hawlucha dodge it then use flying press," said Eli.
Hawlucha moved and watched the shadow ball fly right past him. He then flew right above the wild Mightyena. He then stretched his wings out as much as he can and dropped his whole body onto the Mightyena. The result of Hawlucha's attack was that the wild Mightyena was again in the ground, he was in out cold. The other Mightyena looked on and ran off. While Eli was fighting that Mightyena Katie, Emma, Brady, and Zac had helped the pokemon back into town. While they were waiting for Eli to come back Zac left them and walked back over to the forest. He had watched then ending of the battle and waited for Eli to leave to capture the same Mightyena he had just battled. Eli had walked back into the city when that Mightyena had came to and looked around to see that none of his pack had stayed.
(Back in the City)
"I thought there was four of you," said Eli.
"Zac left. He said he would be back later," said Brady.
"Ok lets get these pokemon back to the daycare center," said Eli.
With the five pokemon the four of them walked back to the Daycare Center. Once inside the head of the center Mariah stood waiting for the pokemon.
"Thank you Eli for rescuing them I was so worried about them," said Mariah.
"It wasn't just me these three helped me," said Eli.
"I'll give you three a reward," said Mariah.
Four of the five pokemon followed Mariah into the back. The only one that didn't was the Mawile who was still with Katie. She didn't want to leave her side. Mariah walked back into the room and tried to get Mawile to follow her but to no avail.
"It looks like Mawile doesn't want leave her side," said Eli.
"It appears you would be right," said Mariah.
"What are you going to do?" asked Eli.
"I think we should just let her keep Mawile," said Mariah.
"Doesn't Mawile belong to someone?" asked Eli.
"No she doesn't the egg she was in hatched here. So she belonged to the center," said Mariah.
"It would look like a perfect fit," said Eli.
"I'll go get Mawile's pokeball," said Mariah walking back into the back.
Minutes after walking to the back Mariah had returned with Mawile's pokeball in her hand. She handed it to Katie. Katie then kneeled down in front of Mawile and Mawile looked happy and clicked the middle button and returned herself.
"I have something for you two as well," said Mariah talking to Emma and Brady.
Mariah walked back into the back grabbed two eggs that have been close to hatching and returned with them.
"These two eggs are almost ready to hatch. I'm giving you two whatever pokemon hatches from them. The eggs should be ready to hatch either tomorrow or Tuesday. So take care of them," said Mariah.
"Thank you," said Emma, Brady, and Katie.
"Your welcome," said Mariah.
Mariah walked back into the back room. The four of them left. As they were walking out Zac had returned.
"Brady where'd you get the egg?" asked Zac.
"The daycare lady gave it to us," said Brady.
"Why didn't I get one. I helped," said Zac.
"Zac you left before we could return the pokemon so you don't get one," said Eli.
"Oh well I got something else," said Zac taking out a pokeball.
"What did you catch?" asked Eli.
"I caught one of the Mightyena in the forest," said Zac.
"I better get back to the gym I should be seeing you all later," said Eli leaving.
Zac, Brady, Katie, and Emma walked back to the pokemon center.
(At the Pokemon Center)
"Katie you have a choice to who to send back to keep Mawile," said Emma.
"I think it will either be Vulpix or Poliwhirl," said Katie.
"Which one will you send back?" asked Emma.
"I think I'll send back Vulpix for now," said Katie.
"Why?" asked Emma.
"I know I used Poliwhirl a lot in the last battle, and Vulpix I just haven't used much," said Katie.
"What about the fire stone Andrew gave you?" asked Emma.
"Brady can use it too," said Katie.
"What will Andrew say about that?" asked Emma.
"I'm not going to give Brady it till I ask him," said Katie.
"I see," said Emma.
"I'm going to go call mom now I'll see you in a few minutes," said Katie walking over to the phone.
Katie walked over to the phone and called her house. While she was doing that the others were in the back on their beds talking. Emma and Brady were talking about the pokemon that will come out of their eggs which occasionally were glowing. Katie sent back her Vulpix so all it left her was Espeon, Pidgeotto, Servine, Absol, Poliwhirl and Mawile. She returned upstairs and joined the other three.
"You finally ready to go to the gym?" asked Brady.
"Yeah just give me a sec I have to see the moves Mawile knows," said Katie calling out Mawile.
Once out Katie took out her pokedex and pointed it at Mawile. The pokedex then popped up all the info on Mawile including the three moves she knows which are Vicegrip, Fairy wind, and iron head.
"Those are some really cool moves," said Katie talking to her Mawile.
"If you are done I really want to get to the gym," said Zac.
"Fine let's go," said Katie returning her Mawile and walking with them to the gym.
(At the Gym)
"You four love to keep me waiting," said Eli.
"Sorry about that. I was looking over Mawile," said Katie.
"Any good moves?" asked Eli.
"You'll have to wait till our battle to see," said Katie.
"So you actually plan to use her in our battle," said Eli.
"If I have to yes I do," said Katie.
"Good," said Eli.
Eli showed the four of them to the arena. Once in the arena a ref joined Eli.
"So which one of you want to go first?" asked Eli.
"I'll go," said Zac.
"Fine with me the other three of you can go ahead and watch from the bleachers on either side of the arena. And Zac you will wait here while I go get my four pokemon," said Eli walking to the back room.
Emma, Brady, and Katie walked over and onto the bleacher and sat down to wait for the match to start. Zac stood in the middle with the ref waiting for Eli to return with his four pokemon. After waiting a few minutes Eli returned and was ready to go. The ref then started to explain the rules.
"This will be a four on four pokemon battle between gym leader Eli and challenger Zac. Only the challenger can substitute at any time during this battle. The battle will be over when one trainers pokemon can't compete," said the ref.
After that was said Eli and Zac walked to their respective spots and the battle begun.
(Gym Battle: Zac vs. Eli)
" Go Rufflet," said Eli.
"Go Baltoy," said Zac.
"Rufflet use hone claws,"
"Baltoy use ice beam,"
Rufflet landed on a rock and started scraping his claws against it. This maneuver sharpened his claws. the sharpened claws mean that his attack power gets a boost. While Rufflet sharpened his claws Baltoy brought his two flat appendage like arms near each other in between them a orb of light blue appeared he then sent a rigid beam of the same color at Rufflet. Rufflet barely avoided the ice beam. The rock he was on had completely froze.
"Rufflet use shadow claw,"
"Baltoy use Ancient power,"
Rufflet's claws became a dark purple color as he flew at Baltoy. Baltoy used his psychic powers to lift up some small rocks and threw them at the charging Rufflet. Rufflet avoided all the rocks and grabbed Baltoy with his claws. Rufflet took him into the air. Once in the sky Rufflet dropped Baltoy. Baltoy crashed into the ground. Baltoy never recovered from that.
"Baltoy is unable to battle, Rufflet wins," said the ref.
"Return Baltoy and go Monferno," said Zac.
"Rufflet use aerial ace,"
"Monferno use flamethrower,"
Rufflet flew at Monferno with his beak leading the way. Rufflet flew right into the stream of fire Monferno sent at. Rufflet was unable to get to Monferno. Rufflet crashed into the ground with burn marks on his body.
"Monferno use thunder punch,"
Monferno's left hand crackled with thunder as he ran at the downed Rufflet. Monferno threw his fist at Rufflet. He connected right into the gut of Rufflet squeaked and the battle was over.
"Rufflet is unable to battle. Monferno wins," said the ref.
"Return Rufflet, and go Noctowl," said Eli.
"Return Monferno, and go Magnemite," said Zac.
"Noctowl use Zen headbutt,"
"Magnemite use thunderbolt,"
Noctowl's "horns" became blue has he flew at Magnemite. Magnemite charged up and shot a bolt of thunder at the quickly charging Noctowl. The bolt had stopped Noctowl cold in her tracks. It also paralyzed Noctowl.
"Magnemite use zap cannon,"
Magnemite charged a cannon ball-like sphere of electricity in front of his eye. Once he was done he sent it at Noctowl. Noctowl had nowhere to go so she was forced to take the full force of the attack. Noctowl crashed to the ground the battle was over.
"Noctowl is unable to battle, Magnemite wins" said the ref.
"Return Noctowl and go Fletchinder," said Eli.
"I'll stay with Magnemite," said Zac.
"Fletchinder use flame charge,"
"Magnemite use thunder bolt,"
Fletchinder coated his body in flames and flew at Magnemite. Magnemite charged up and shot a bolt of thunder at the Fletchinder. Fletchinder was quicker than Noctowl and was able to avoid the bolt. Fletchinder than crashed right into Magnemite with his flaming body. Magnemite fell to the ground. Magnemite was able to get back up ready to battle on.
"Fletchinder use flame charge again,"
Fletchinder's body once again was coated in flames as he charged at the weakened Magnemite. By time Magnemite realized that Fletchinder was coming at him it was to late. He took another super effective blow. This super effective blow ended the battle for Magnemite.
"Magnemite is unable to battle, Fletchinder wins," said the ref.
"Return Magnemite and go Tranquill," said Zac.
"So you want to battle me the flying type expert with a flying type. This should be interesting," said Eli.
"I now what I'm doing," said Zac.
"I sure hope so," said Eli.
"Tranquill use Air slash,"
"Fletchinder use quick attack,"
Fletchinder moved at such a quick pace that he was hard to see. Tranquill didn't see him till he was attacked by Fletchinder. Tranquill was unable to use his move, but he did continued through the battle.
"Tranquill use aerial ace,"
"Fletchinder use flamethrower,"
Tranquill charged at Fletchinder leading the way with his beaks you could see stripes of white as he flew at Fletchinder. Fletchinder opened his beak and shot out a stream of fire at the charging Tranquill. Tranquill was trapped in the flames and he was burned. It also forced Tranquill to stop his attack.
"Tranquill return, and go Monferno," said Zac.
"Fletchinder use acrobatics,"
"Monferno use thunder punch when he gets close enough,"
Fletchinder nimbly moved around Monferno before attacking him. Fletchinder finally attacked Monferno by kicking him with his feet. Monferno fell to a knee after taking the whole attack. Monferno did mange to deliver his own thunder punch to one of the wings of Fletchinder. Fletchinder shook off the attack and continued on.
"Return Monferno, and go Tranquill," said Zac.
"I have no idea what you're planning, but I still don't think it'll work because by Fletchinder and my last pokemon are going to be hard to beat," said Eli.
"I've already said I have a plan," said Zac.
"Tranquill use peck,"
"Fletchinder use flame charge,"
Fletchinder's body was coated in flames as he rushed at Tranquill who was rushing at him. Fletchinder crashed his flaming body into Tranquill and he was stopped and fell to the ground. Tranquill was unable to continue.
"Tranquill is unable to battle, Fletchinder wins," said the ref.
"Return Tranquill and go Monferno," said Zac.
"This is your last pokemon Zac how are you going to do it?" asked Eli.
"I know what I'm doing," said Zac.
"You've been saying that since you went out to Tranquill. I haven't seen yet," said Eli.
"Monferno use dig,"
"Fletchinder watch yourself,"
Monferno dug deep underground. Fletchinder kept his eyes peeled on the ground. Monferno jumped dug up behind Fletchinder and once he was up Monferno jumped and nailed the back of Fletchinder with a thunder punch. The attack sent Fletchinder into the ground.
"Fletchinder is unable to battle, Monferno wins," said the ref.
"Return Fletchinder, and go Hawlucha," said Eli.
"Monferno use thunder punch,"
"Hawlucha use wing attack,"
Hawlucha left the ground and took to the air as his wings turned white. He dove at Monferno. Monferno tried to swing a thunder punch at him, but Monferno missed. Hawlucha then delivered a wing attack to the front then swooped back around to deliver another shot to Monferno's back. Monferno fell onto his belly ending this battle and the match.
"Monferno is unable to battle, Hawlucha wins. The gym leader Eli wins," said the ref.
Zac returns Monferno and leaves the gym upset that he lost the first time again. Eli yelled over to the three watching.
"Which one of you is next?" asked Eli.
"I'll go next," said Katie.
"Then come on down young lady," said Eli.
Katie walked from the bleachers to the arena where Eli was waiting for her.
"Let me go heal my pokemon then we can get this battle underway," said Eli walking back to the back room.
Shortly after walking to the back room Eli returns ready for another go around. The ref then explained the rules for Katie.
"This will be a four on four pokemon battle between gym leader Eli and Challenger Katie. The challenger is the only one that can substitute at any time during the match. The match will be over when one trainer's pokemon cannot continue," said the ref.
(Gym Battle: Eli vs. Katie)
"Go Rufflet," said Eli.
"Go Absol," said Katie.
"Rufflet use aerial ace,"
"Absol use detect and then attack with night slash,"
Absol used his speed to avoid the aerial ace. After avoiding the attack Absol's scythe turned all black and Absol rushed at Rufflet. Once he got to Rufflet he slashed him Rufflet felt the attack on his back and he went into the dirt of the arena.
"Absol use razor wind,"
Absol whipped up blades of wind as he cut the air with his scythe. After doing so Absol then sent the wind blades at the grounded Rufflet. Rufflet was cut up by the blades as they attacked him. Rufflet still kept fighting after taking that hit. Rufflet was still unable to leave the ground. Before Katie could give Absol a command Absol charged up and unleashed a bolt of thunder at the grounded Rufflet. Rufflet was shocked by the same bolt and this time he fainted from it.
"Rufflet is unable to battle, Absol wins," said the ref.
"What did Absol just do?" asked Katie.
"I think he used thunderbolt," said Eli.
"I have never seen Absol do that before," said Katie.
"It's rare to see an Absol learn thunderbolt, but it is possible," said Eli.
"That's cool," said Katie.
"Return Rufflet and go Ninjask," said Eli.
"I think Absol can handle it," said Katie.
"Ninjask use agility,"
"Absol use thunderbolt,"
Absol again charged up before unleashing another bolt of thunder. Ninjask avoided the thunderbolt with agility. Agility made Ninjask even faster then he was when he first started the match. Ninjask got even faster because of his effect speed boost.
"Ninjask X-Scissor,"
"Absol detect. Then try thunderbolt again,"
Absol used some of his own speed to dodge the X-scissor from Ninjask. Absol stopped and charged up and unleashed a bolt of thunder that found its mark on Ninjask. Ninjask was paralyzed from the thunderbolt. Ninjask still got the speed boost from his effect.
Ninjask use X- Scissor,"
"Absol use night slash,"
The paralyzed Ninjask flew over to Absol and slashed him with his two arms. The end result of the slashing made it look like he made an X. Absol still delivered a powerful slash from his pitch black scythe. Ninjask was sent into the ground from the attack of Absol. The X-Scissor did a lot of damage to Absol as well. Absol fell onto his belly. It Absol a few minutes to recover but he did. Ninjask on the other hand was unable to.
"Ninjask is unable to battle. Absol wins," said the ref.
"Return Ninjask and go Hawlucha,"said Eli.
"Let's continue Absol," said Katie.
"That Absol sure is strong, but lets see if he can take a fighting attack," said Eli.
"Absol use night slash,"
"Hawlucha take to the air to dodge the attack then use flying press,"
Hawlucha flew high into the air to avoid the night slash from Absol. He then stretched his wings out and fell right on top of Absol. The attack crushed Absol into the ground. Absol was unable to get up from the attack the battle was over.
"Absol is unable to battle, Hawlucha wins," said the ref.
"Return Absol and go Espeon," said Katie.
"Hawlucha use wing attack,"
"Espeon stop him with confusion,"
Hawlucha flew at Espeon with his wings being all white. Espeon's eyes turned blue and Hawlucha was stopped.
"Espeon toss Hawlucha into the rock,"
Espeon flung her head and sent Hawlucha into a rock. Hawlucha shook his to shake off what had just happened to him. He found it hard to get himself out of the rock he was in.
"Return Espeon, and go Mawile," said Katie.
"Interesting choice to go out to her," said Eli.
"Mawile use fairy wind,"
"Hawlucha you have to free yourself from that rock to dodge it,"
Mawile opened her jaw attached to her head and a pink wind blew in and towards the trapped Hawlucha. Hawlucha tried a to free himself before the wind got to him, but there was nothing he could so he took the full force of the attack. The wind pushed him completely through the rock and back in front of Eli. Hawlucha didn't get back up afterward.
"Two super effective attacks really did it to Hawlucha," said Eli.
"You're down to your last pokemon," said Katie.
"True but your friend Zac had a hard time taking this one down. So lets see how you'll fair against him," said Eli.
"I'll fair better then he would I know how to beat Fletchinder," said Katie.
"We'll see. Return Hawlucha and go Fletchinder," said Eli.
"Return Mawile, and go Poliwhirl," said Katie.
"Fletchinder use aerial ace,"
"Poliwhirl use hydro pump,"
Fletchinder beak let strips of white as he charged at Poliwhirl. Poliwhirl shot a powerful stream of water from his belly. It found its mark hitting Fletchinder and stopping him from attacking. Fletchinder was drenched in water and it weighted him down forcing him to the ground.
"Fletchinder use roost,"
"Poliwhirl use hydro pump again,"
Fletchinder started to rest his body from all the damage he received. Poliwhirl again unleashed a powerful stream of water at the resting Fletchinder. The attack pushed Fletchinder's back towards his trainer. Fletchinder had to get into the air in order to stop taking damage from hydro pump. Fletchinder looked out of it as he fell from the air and crashed into the ground.
"Fletchinder is unable to battle, Poliwhirl wins. Katie is the winner," said the ref.
Eli returned Fletchinder and walked to the middle of the arena. He was meet there by Katie after she returned Poliwhirl.
"Your going to be a strong trainer," said Eli.
"Thank you," said Katie.
"I must give you this as a sign that you beat me," said Eli handing Katie the wing badge.
Katie walked over to the bleachers where Emma and Brady had been watching the battle. Eli walked over there as well to talk to them.
"I'll battle you Emma and Brady tomorrow. I'm in need of some rest. Be here first thing tomorrow morning and we'll battle and as apology for not battling you today I'll fly you to Richmond after our two battles as long as you both can win. The 7th gym is located there," said Eli.
"That's fine thank you," said Brady.
"Ok if you don't mind I'll be retiring to my home here for the evening. I'll see you all tomorrow," said Eli leaving through the back.
Katie, Emma, and Brady walked out the front and walked back over to the pokemon center. Once inside Zac was sitting at the table in the front. He seemed mad at himself for his lost today. Brady walked over to him and sat down across from him. Emma and Katie walked into the back. Katie decided to lay on her bed and think about what Eli had said about her. Emma rejoined Brady in the front and they both started to talk to Zac.
(At the Pokemon Center)
"Hey Zac," said Brady.
"You three get your badges?" asked Zac.
"No, Me and Em will be battling Eli tomorrow," said Brady.
"What about Katie?" asked Zac.
"I earned the badge," said Katie walking over.
"Good for you," said Zac.
"What's wrong with you Zac?" asked Brady.
"I start out strong, but by the end I start to stray from what I want to do," said Zac.
"Let me tell you what someone once told me about second guessing yourself," said Brady.
"I never said I was second guessing," said Zac.
"I can tell you are," said Brady.
"I'm going to go train I'll see you all tomorrow," said Zac leaving.
"We have an early day tomorrow so we better get some sleep," said Emma.
"She's right I'm going to go to bed," said Brady walking towards the beds.
Emma leaves shortly after Brady left. Katie got her pokemon healed by the Nurse and she too went to bed. Zac stayed out late working on training his pokemon to get better. By time he came in everyone was asleep. He got his pokemon healed and he too went to bed.
Sorry for a delay I was really lost focus for a couple days last week and I didn't work on it at all I didn't even want to think about, but after a conversation with a old friend I now am ready to keep going on this story. I will continue updating every Friday now. We are now only two days from being back to where the last chapter ended. We'll be right on track after the next chapter.
