(Saturday)
Andrew was standing in the bathroom with his shirt off admiring the bruises on his sides and his back. He puts his shirt back and walks back out and he is surprised to see Katie up. She too looked a little shocked to see him. She thought he would still be asleep because of the events of yesterday.
"Hey Andrew," said Katie.
"Hey," replied Andrew.
"How bad is it?" asked Katie.
"Its just bruises. They hurt some, but I guess that's expected," answered Andrew.
"Well I'm going to go get dressed if you want to go walk around," said Katie.
"You might want to dress warm its raining," replied Andrew.
"Ok I will," said Katie walking into the bathroom with her bag.
Andrew carried his backpack into the bathroom and got dressed into a long sleeve grey shirt and his black jacket, but today he had decided to go with no hat. After getting dressed Andrew set his backpack on his bed and slowly walked down the stairs and sat down to wait for Katie who was just doing her hair. Once her hair was done she joined Andrew downstairs he had the TV on and it was still talking about the attack on Richmond, everything that happened still stung Andrew badly. The Nurse walked over to the two of before they could leave.
"I have some breakfast ready if you want some," said the nurse.
"What is it?" asked Andrew.
"Since it's a cold day I made some oatmeal and it is not the instant kind," answered the Nurse.
"Yeah I'll take some," said Andrew.
"So will I," said Katie.
The Nurse walked over to the table and set out three bowls. One for herself , one for Andrew and the last one for Katie. The Nurse called them over once the food was ready. They both took a seat and ate the oatmeal.
"What a day yesterday," said the Nurse.
Andrew looked over at her and looked down again. He has been trying to put yesterday out of his mind, but he couldn't. It's just hard to forget, because he had the reminder on his back.
"I see you don't want to talk about it, I get it," said the Nurse.
Andrew and Katie finished their oatmeal and left the table over to the door. They put their hoods on and walked outside to see the streets wet and grey skies.
(Outside in the Rain)
"So where do you want to go?" asked Katie.
"Over to the Museum," answered Andrew.
"Are you sure?" asked Katie.
"Yeah I am," answered Andrew.
Andrew and Katie walked over to the Museum. Once there the caution tape was still up and Marc and Jen were outside examine damages. Andrew and Katie started to walk over to them.
"What did this?" asked Jen.
"I'll answer that," answered Andrew.
Jen and Marc turned around and to their surprise it was Andrew.
"Hey Andrew you look great," said Marc with a laugh.
"Yeah I fill even better," replied Andrew.
"What are you doing here Andrew?" asked Jen on a more serious note.
"I had to see the damages," answered Andrew.
"It's not good at all," said Jen.
"Yeah I can tell," said Andrew.
Andrew looked over to Marc while Jen looked at Katie.
"Marc can you tell me what happened here?" asked Andrew.
"We'll brief you when you get back to DC later next week," answered Marc.
"I expect a full detailed report," said Andrew.
"You'll get one trust me," replied Marc.
After looking over Katie Jen looked back at Andrew.
"Who's she?" asked Jen.
"She is one of my good friends," answered Andrew.
"That's good to see," said Jen.
"Jen have you two been inside yet?" asked Andrew.
"No we were about to go inside," answered Jen.
"We'll come with you," replied Andrew.
"She can't this is closed to the public," said Jen.
"It might be closed to the public, but not to me and she's with me," said Andrew.
"Anyway I'm not going to let you do anything, but take it easy so I'll see you when you get back to DC, said Jen signaling to Marc its time to leave.
Marc and Jenifer walk away from the Museum leaving Andrew and Katie standing outside it looking at what's left of the door. Andrew kept looking at the door and he just kept remembering what happened here.
"I heard the explosion at the door, but what happened?" asked Katie.
"Everyone heard it. Marco and Goodsworth attacked the door with two powerful hyper beams. They would have done it again if it wasn't for my Charizard," answered Andrew.
"How bad is the inside?" asked Katie.
"It's worse then the outside. Most of the exhibits were destroyed or behind repair, the backroom in which the orbs were in I left before I could see so I have to wait to know about that," answered Andrew.
Andrew and Katie walked away from that and over to the Richmond Dome. At the Dome Morgan, Tina, and Melissa were examining the damages on the outside.
"It's a lot worse inside," said Andrew walking over to them.
"Glad to see you upright this time," said Tina.
"We've been inside there not much left to it," said Morgan.
"I could've told you that," replied Andrew.
"What was it like in there?" asked Melissa.
"As much as I remember was that our battle was intense. After getting sent into the air after the four attacks collided is all blur except when Morgan and Marc went in and found us," answered Andrew.
"When we went in the place was on fire," said Morgan.
Marc walked over to them after Morgan said it. He told them it's time to leave and the four of them left leaving Andrew and Katie again looking at the Dome.
"I'm glad you weren't hurt that much," said Katie.
"I owe that to Mewtwo," replied Andrew.
"Now where?" asked Katie.
"Let's walk over to the park," answered Andrew.
The two of them leave the dome and headed over to the park which is right across from the gym. They walked over to a fountain that had a stone Suicune on it.
"This place brings back memories," said Andrew.
"Why?" asked Katie.
"When I was younger and I went here to watch my sister compete in a Contest I use to come over to this fountain and toss a quarter in and on that quarter I used to make a wish on it," answered Andrew.
"When was the last time you did it?" asked Katie.
"When Hailey and I were here to take part in Contest and a gym battle," answered Andrew.
"Want to do it one more?" asked Katie.
"Sure lets do it," answered Andrew.
Andrew took out two quarters and gave one to Katie.
"What are we suppose to do?" asked Katie.
"You put it in the palm of your hand, make a fist, close your eyes and make a wish on it. After doing so drop the quarter in," answered Andrew.
They both did so and dropped the quarter in. The moment was interrupted by Katie's phone ringing. It was Emma.
"Let's make a promise before you get that. Every time we are here we come to this fountain and make a wish. No matter how old we are," said Andrew.
"Deal," said Katie before walking off to answer the phone.
"Katie where are you?" asked Emma.
"We'll be back at the Pokemon Center in a few minutes," answered Katie.
"Ok just hurry up both the boys want head over to the gym," said Emma.
"After I get off the phone we'll head back," said Katie.
"Fine I'll see you when you get back," said Emma hanging up.
Katie walked over to Andrew who was still looking at the fountain.
"We better go back," said Katie.
The two of them walk back over to the Pokemon Center, once they returned Emma, Brady, and Zac were all standing around waiting for them to return. Right after they got back the six of them left over to the gym.
(At the Gym)
Sara was standing outside staring off into space she came too when the six of them walk up. She looked over the six of them and then walked back inside the gym. They had followed her inside and were meet with Ricardo her assistant. He was a tall 6'6 man he was tough a bodyguard type.
"Good Morning all of you. Miss Sara is ready to take on her first opponent so decide among yourselves who is going first," said Ricardo.
"I'll go first," said Katie.
"I guess you can," said Zac looking disappointed.
"Since you have decided to go first follow me. The rest of can follow the stairs up to the bleachers to enjoy the battle," said Ricardo.
Andrew, Brady, Zac, and Emma walked up the stairs and took a seat in the bleachers. While Katie was shown to the arena. Sara was standing in the center waiting to introduce herself to her first opponent. Ricardo took his spot just left of the center to call the match.
"Hi what's your name?" asked Sara.
"I'm Katie Hopkins from Boston," answered Katie.
"It's nice to meet you I'm Sara and welcome to my gym. I'm the psychic gym leader and I am the 7th and youngest gym leader. I hope you are ready for my psychic because they are no pushovers," said Sara.
"I am," replied Katie walking over to her spot.
"This will be a four on four gym battle between Sara the 7th gym leader and Katie Hopkins. Only the challenger can substitute pokemon at any time. This battle will be over when one the trainer's four pokemon cannot go on. Miss Sara will call out her pokemon first," said Ricardo.
(Gym Battle: Katie vs. Sara)
"Slowpoke Go," said Sara.
"Go Servine," said Katie.
"Use headbutt Slowpoke,"
"Servine use leaf tornado,"
Servine sent a multitude of leaves on the ground around Slowpoke. Servine then let out a cry and then the leaves started to spin in a circle around Slowpoke. The leaves spun faster and faster cutting up Slowpoke. After taking the damage slowpoke still stayed strong and ran at Servine. Servine made a quick call and used vine whip on the ground to get himself into the air to dodge Slowpoke.
"That was a very smart move," said Sara.
"Thanks," replied Katie.
"Slowpoke use icy wind,"
"Servine use energy ball,"
Servine's tail glowed green as he charged an green ball in front of his mouth. Servine sent it at Slowpoke who had just let out a guest of cold air. This cold air froze the energy and kept going at Servine. Servine was hit with the icy attack freezing most of him. The only part of him that wasn't frozen was his head.
"Slowpoke use headbutt now,"
With a full head of steam Slowpoke rushed at Servine. Servine was unable to move so he did what he could and that was send a energy ball at Slowpoke. It slowed Slowpoke but he kept coming and eventually crashed right into Servine. The headbutt shattered the ice which freed him, but he did crash into the wall. Servine jumped off the wall and ran back in front of Katie.
"Return Servine, and go Absol," said Katie.
"Slowpoke use water gun,"
"Absol use thunderbolt,"
Absol charged up and sent a bolt of thunder at Slowpoke who just sent a small stream of water at him. The thunderbolt stuck Slowpoke and he collapsed to the ground. That was the end of Slowpoke. The water gun never made it to Absol it to stopped when Slowpoke did.
"Slowpoke is unable to battle Absol wins," said Ricardo.
"Return Slowpoke and go Malamar," said Sara.
"I'll stick with Absol," said Katie.
"Malamar use slash,"
"Absol use slash as well,"
Absol ran at Malamar while Malamar moved at Absol. Absol readied his scythe and Malamar used one of his tendrils. Both attacks were even and no one pokemon had the advantage.
"Malamar use superpower,"
"Absol use detect,"
Malamar moved quickly at Absol. He was ready to attack Absol with his tendrils, but Absol used his speed to dodge every attempt Malamar made to attack him. Thanks to Malamar's ability the effect of superpower were changed and it boasted up his attack and defense.
"Absol use razor wind,"
"Malamar use superpower one more time,"
Absol whipped razor sharp winds up while Malamar rushed at him. Malamar attacked him with three powerful hits from each tendrils. The last hit slammed Absol into the ground. Absol got back to his feet right after hitting the ground. After getting up Absol unleashed the razor sharp wind at Malamar. The winds slashed and cut up. Malamar stayed strong ready to go again. Absol was breathing heavily it because of the beating he took from the superpower attack. And again Malamar's ability changed the effects of superpower were changed and it boasted up his attack and defense.
"What a surprise I wasn't expecting Absol to last against my superpower attack," said Sara.
Katie looked at her Absol and could tell the beating did a lot to him, but he was still able to stay in it.
"Malamar use night slash,"
"Absol use thunderbolt,"
Absol charged up and sent a bolt of thunder at Malamar. One of Malamar's tentacles was pitch-black as he moved at Absol. Malamar was stopped when he was struck by the thunderbolt. Once the thunderbolt stopped it was reviled that Malamar was now paralyzed.
"Absol use slash,"
Malamar use superpower,"
Absol ran at Malamar with his scythe leading the way. Once Absol reached Malamar, Malamar slammed one of his tendrils into the back of Absol sending him into the ground. Absol got back up again. This time when Absol got up he surrounded by a pure dark energy. Sara and Katie were both shocked at what they saw. Just like the pervious times Malamar's attack and defense increased.
"What the?" said Andrew as he looked on in astonishment.
Once back to his feet Absol attacked Malamar with a pulse of dark energy, that not only pushed Malamar away into the wall behind his trainer. Malamar fell to the ground and he fainted. Sara looked at her Malamar she then looked back at Absol who now had fainted as well.
"I have never seen that power in an Absol who took two superpowers. I'm confused on what kept him going. We all saw him surrounded by a dark energy," said Sara.
"I don't even know what it was," said Katie.
Those in the bleachers all looked at Andrew hoping for an explanation, but he was speechless as well. He had never seen such a move that could surround Absol with that much energy.
"Andrew what was that?" asked Emma.
"I don't know. I could guess, but I have never seen that before," answered Andrew.
"Could it have been his ability?" asked Emma.
"I don't know I'm puzzled. I've battled Absol's before. Absol's typical ability is pressure. I can say with 100 percent certainty that was not pressure," answered Andrew.
Everyone in the bleachers focused their attention back onto the match.
"Both Absol and Malamar are unable battle, we have no winner this round," said Ricardo.
"Return Malamar and go Lunatone," said Sara.
"Return Absol and go Poliwhirl," said Katie.
"Lunatone use cosmic power boast up,"
"Poliwhirl use bubble beam,"
Lunatone gathered strength from space to boast up his defenses. Poliwhirl shot off from his belly a stream of bubbles at Lunatone. Once the bubbles hit him they popped, they did a lot of damage to him but not even enough to do anything to Lunatone because of the boast in his defenses.
"Poliwhirl use hydro pump,"
Poliwhirl unleashed a powerful torrent of water at Lunatone who once again took the attack and left him floating still. Once again the cosmic power came into play allowing Lunatone to withstand the attack again.
"Lunatone end it with explosion,"
Lunatone flew into the air above the arena and glowed white. After a short period of time Lunatone sent waves of energy out as he exploded. The waves hit Poliwhirl and he was sent into the air he then crashed right behind Katie. He was done. Lunatone crashed to the ground as well. The result was a double knockout again.
"Once again both pokemon are unable to battle we have not winner for this round," said Ricardo.
"It look like I'm down to my last pokemon. My last pokemon will not be easy I can guarantee you that," said Sara.
"I wouldn't expect him to be easy," replied Katie.
"Return Lunatone and go Kadabra," said Sara.
"Return Poliwhirl and go Servine," said Katie.
"Kadabra use shadow ball,"
"Servine use vine whip to dodge it,"
Kadabra brought his hand without the spoon forward and created a dark shadowy ball. He sent the ball at Servine who sent out vines that helped him get into the air to dodge the shadow ball.
"Servine it's our turn use leaf tornado,"
"Kadabra use confusion to stop those leaves,"
Servine sent a large number of leaves on the ground around Kadabra. He let out a cry and these leaves spun around Kadabra like a tornado. Kadabra's eyes turned blue and sent a blue force out that stopped and sent the leaves to the ground.
"Servine use vine whip,"
"Kadabra use psychic once Servine locks those vines on you,"
Servine sent to vines that wrapped around Kadabra's arms. Kadabra's eyes turned blue and lifted Servine into the air. Servine looked around, he was unaware of what is happening. Shortly after lifting him into the air Kadabra slammed Servine into the ground. Servine had fainted after that.
"Servine is unable to battle, Kadabra wins," said Ricardo.
"Well Katie it appears you are down to your last pokemon. I hope you're going make it count," said Sara.
"Return Servine, and go Espeon," said Katie.
"Interesting going out a psychic type against another," said Sara.
"I fill good about going to Espeon here," said Katie.
"Kadabra use shadow ball,"
"Espeon use dig to dodge it then pop out behind and use our own shadow ball,"
Kadabra brought out his hand again and created a shadowy ball in his hand. Once the attack was ready he sent it at Espeon. Espeon dug under the arena to dodge the shadow ball. Espeon then reappeared behind Kadabra. Espeon then opened his mouth and sent his own shadowy ball at the back of Kadabra. Kadabra fell forward onto his face. Kadabra used his psychic powers to return to his feet this time he was facing Espeon.
"Espeon use iron tail,"
Espeon ran at Kadabra his tail coated in a slivery color. Kadabra was to slow to react and took the iron tail to head the head that made him fall onto his back. Kadabra fainted because of the attack. The battle was over Katie has won.
"Kadabra is unable to battle, Espeon wins, Katie is the winner of the battle," said Ricardo.
Sara returns her Kadabra and walks over to Katie who kneeling down to show her Espeon some love.
"That was a really good battle. I really thought I had you when I went to Kadabra, but hey I lost to a better trainer. So with that said I would like to give you this," said Sara handing Katie the spoon badge.
"Thanks," said Katie.
Sara looks up into the bleachers.
"Whichever one of you wants to go next you can meet me down here. I have to heal my pokemon then we can battle," said Sara walking away.
(In the Bleachers)
"I'll go next," said Zac.
"Zac here's a piece of advice don't get full of yourself. You maybe winning at one moment, but Sara can easily turn it around," said Andrew.
"Thanks I guess," said Zac running down to the arena.
Katie walks up to the bleachers and takes a seat next to Andrew.
"Katie I wonder where you learned that dig trick with Espeon," said Andrew.
"I think I picked up from watching someone battle," replied Katie with a smile on her face.
"If I remember correctly I used the same trick in a battle against Steven," said Andrew.
"Yeah I remember that battle," said Katie.
Sara had returned to the arena. She was ready to battle against Zac this time.
(Gym Battle: Zac vs. Sara)
"Like before this will be a four on four battle. Only the challenger can substitute. This battle will be over when one of the trainer's four pokemon cannot battle on. Miss Sara will call out her pokemon first," said Ricardo.
"Go Musharna," said Sara.
"Go Mightyena," said Zac.
"You can have the first move," said Sara.
"Mightyena use bite,"
"Use energy ball Musharna,"
Mightyena ran at Musharna, he was barking as he did so. Musharna made a green ball near her head and sent it at the charging Mightyena. The energy ball exploded in front of Migtyena's head it stopped him cold. Mightyena shock off it looked mad now.
"Musharna use shadow ball,"
"Mightyena dodge it then use crunch,"
Musharna made a shadowy ball in front of her head once it was done she sent it at Mightyena who used his speed to dodge it, he then rushed and bit down on Musharna twice. Even taking that hit Musharna stayed in the battle.
"Mightyena use shadow ball,"
Mightyena lifted his head into the air and opened his mouth and made a shadowy ball in front of his mouth. Moments after making it he sent it at Musharna, the shadow ball hits Musharna in the head and she hits the ground.
"Musharna is unable to battle, Mightyena wins," said Ricardo.
"Great job Musharna return. Go Malamar," said Sara.
"Return Mightyena and go Skorupi," said Zac.
(In the Bleachers)
"I question his choice on this," said Andrew.
"Why?" asked Katie.
"Well yes it is smart to use a bug pokemon against Malamar, but Skorupi is weak psychic types," answered Andrew.
"I think Zac knows that," said Brady.
"I hope your right. Malamar is one of her hardest pokemon to beat," said Andrew.
(Back to the Battle)
"Skorupi use X-scissor,"
"Malamar use psycho cut,"
Skorupi's claws turned a lime green color as he moved at Malamar. Malamar was ready as one of his tendrils turned a purple color. Once Skorupi was in front of Malamar he launched one of his claws at Malamar. Malamar meet the claw with his purple tendril. Malamar readied his other tendril to attack Skorupi without him realizing. Skorupi saw that and meet it with his other claw. Both pokemon were locked dead even. Eventually Malamar pushed Skorupi back to free up some space in front of him.
"Malamar use slash,"
"Skorupi use bug bite on that tendril,"
Malamar moved towards Skorupi once Malamar reached Skorupi he brought up his tendril into the air before slashing at Skorupi. Skorupi launched his teeth in that same tendril this action angered Malamar and he started to try and shake him off. Skorupi managed to keep his jaw locked onto Malamar. As long as Skorupi stayed on he was doing damage to Malamar.
"Malamar use psychic,"
Malamar's eyes turned blue and he gripped Skorupi. After gripping Skorupi he lifted him off his tendril and pushed into the ground. Malamar stopped his attack and looked at his tendril there was bite marks on it. Skorupi struggled back to his feet.
"Malamar use psycho cut,"
"Skorupi use X-scissor,"
One of Malamar's tendrils turned a purple color as he moved at Skorupi. Skorupi's claws turned a lime green color. Once Malamar reached Skorupi he pushed his tendril at him and his tendril was met with Skorupi's green claws. Malamar's tendril started to over power Skorupi, but tried to keep strong. The psycho cut kept pushing closer to Skorupi. Just as Skorupi looked beaten he started to glow white. Skorupi was evolving. Skorupi got larger and he became a purple color, he was no longer a bug type but now a poison and dark type. His claws got larger same with his tail. Once he stopped evolving he was no longer Skorupi, but a Drapion. Now as a Drapion he beat Malamar's psycho cut and nailed him with a X-scissor. Malamar fell to the ground after taking the hit.
"Malamar is unable to battle, Drapion wins," said Ricardo.
"Return Malamar and go Solrock," said Sara.
"I'll stick with Drapion," said Zac.
"Solrock use charge beam,"
"Drapion use poison jab,"
Drapion moved at Solrock with his claws glowing purple. Solrock charged up and sent a single beam of thunder at the charging Drapion. Drapion was struck by the beam and it stopped him cold. Solrock didn't use the all of the power that came from charge beam so he absorbed the rest of it and it boasted him.
"Solrock use earthquake,"
"Drapion return and go Baltoy,"
The ground under both pokemon shook violently causing rocks to come from the ground. Baltoy's effect meant he took no damage from the earthquake.
"Baltoy use shadow ball,"
"Solrock use shadow ball as well,"
Both pokemon made dark shadowy balls after a few moments both pokemon sent them at one another. The two shadows balls hit each other and exploded. Smoke filled the arena.
"Solrock use sandstorm to clear the smoke,"
Solrock begun to spin and create a giant tornado of dirt from the arena floor. Solrock sent the dirt storm in the direction of the smoke. The storm cleared the smoke making both visible again.
"Solrock use sunny day,"
Solrock sent a ball of yellow into the sky. The sun now covered the arena.
"Baltoy use gyro ball,"
"Solrock use solarbeam,"
Baltoy became a sliver color before spinning. This spinning made him look like a ball as he started to spin towards Solrock who was absorbing energy from the sun. Before Baltoy could reach Solrock, Solrock unleashed a powerful beam of yellow at the spinning Baltoy. Baltoy could do nothing but take the blow and that is what he did. After the solarbeam dissipated, Baltoy had stop spinning and he was laying on the ground.
"Baltoy is unable to battle, Solrock wins," said Ricardo.
"Return Baltoy and go Mightyena," said Zac.
"Solrock use charge beam,"
"Mightyena dodge it then use bite,"
Solrock charged up again and sent a single beam of electricity at Mightyena. Mightyena quickly dodged it then rushed at Solrock barking. Solrock again charged up and this time the beam hit Mightyena stopping in his tracks. Zac was upset by this because he thought he bettered Solrock this but he didn't.
"Solrock use solarbeam,"
"Return Mightyena and go Drapion,"
Solrock absorbed some more of the sunlight that was still on the field. Once Solrock was done absorbing he sent a beam of yellow at Drapion, Drapion brought up his claws to cover his face. Drapion took the solarbeam and still stood strong.
"Drapion use poison fang,"
"Solrock use explosion,"
Solrock flew high into the sky and begun to glow white. After glowing white for a few moments he exploded in a cloud of smoke that sent waves of energy released by the explosion at Drapion. Drapion was hit by those waves and fell face first to the ground of the arena.
"Both Solrock and Drapion are unable to battle, no one wins," said Ricardo.
"Return Solrock and go Kadabra," said Sara.
"Return Drapion and go Mightyena," said Zac.
"Zac this is my last pokemon, but like before he will be difficult to beat," said Sara.
"Mightyena use crunch,"
"Kadabra use dazzling gleam,"
Before any attacks were made the sun from sunny day had faded. Mightyena started to run at Kadabra who readied his one spoon by bringing up front of him. Once his spoon was ready sent a bright light from it. This bright light at first stunned Mightyena then sent him back at his trainer. Mightyena landed right next to his trainer down and out.
"Mightyena is unable to battle, Kadabra wins," said Ricardo.
"Zac you have one pokemon left I hope you saved the best for last," said Sara.
"I have just wait and see," replied Zac.
"I guess we are about to find out," said Sara.
"Return Mightyena and go Monferno," said Zac.
"Zac are you seriously thinking of using a fighting type," said Sara with some shock in her eyes.
"He's part fire too," replied Zac.
"That's not the point he still weak against psychic," said Sara.
"I have a plan just wait and see," said Zac.
"I would hope you do," responded Sara.
"Monferno use flamethrower,"
"Kadabra send it over your head with psychic,"
Monferno opened his mouth and unleashed a steam of fire at Kadabra. Kadabra moved his left hand which had his spoon in it in front of him and his eyes turned blue and sent the fire over his head and into the ceiling.
"Kadabra its our turn use confusion,"
"Monferno use dig to dodge it,"
Kadabra's eyes turned blue before he sent a wave of blue energy at Monferno who quickly dug a hole to prevent himself from taking that attack. Once the wave passed him he popped out of the hole.
"Monferno use fury swipes,"
"Kadabra catch him with psychic,"
Monferno ran at Kadabra with his claws sharper then normal. Before Monferno could reach Kadabra. Kadabra's eyes turned blue and stopped Monferno in his psychic powers. Kadabra then sent him into the ground right in front of Zac. Monferno slowly got back to his feet.
"Kadabra use confusion,"
"Monferno, flame wheel,"
Kadabra's eyes turned blue and he sent a wave of psychic energy at Monferno. Monferno coated himself in flames and rolled his way towards Kadabra. The waves of energy didn't slow Monferno one bit has he rolled all the way till he hit Kadabra. Kadabra was sent falling right in front of his trainer. Kadabra didn't get up after that. This battle was over Zac had won.
"Kadabra is unable to battle, Monferno wins. The winner is Zac," said Ricardo.
Monferno ran over to Zac both were extremely happy over their win. Monferno was jumping up and down while Zac had a big smile on his face. Sara returned her Kadabra and walked over to Zac. She congratulated him and handed him the spoon badge.
"Who ever is ready to go next can meet me down here," said Sara.
Zac returned to the bleachers and Emma took his spot on the arena. It looks like Brady will be going last.
(In the Bleachers)
Andrew and Katie were sitting one row above Brady and now Zac. All of them were curious about Sara because they had just watched as she took Katie and Zac to their last pokemon.
"What makes Sara so hard?" asked Katie.
"What do you mean?" asked Andrew in response.
"Well Sara took Zac and me to our last pokemon," answered Katie.
"Sara finished 4th in the Champion's Cup I won. She lost to Donald in the Semi-finals. In the end it was down to her starter Delphox against Donald's starter Infernape. It was a back and forth battle, but in the end Infernape used blaze at the right time that won him the match," said Andrew.
"Does she have other types of pokemon?" asked Brady.
"Yeah she does, but once she was chosen to become a gym leader she chose psychic types to be her specialty," answered Andrew.
Sara had just returned ready for her next battle with Emma.
(In the Arena)
"This will be a four on four battle between Emma and Sara. Only the challenger will be able to substitute. The battle will be over when one of the trainer's four pokemon cannot go on. As long as both trainers are ready Miss Sara will call out her pokemon first," said Ricardo.
"Go Lunatone," said Sara.
"Go Roggenrola," said Emma.
"Odd choice. I would have thought a water type would work better then another rock type," commented Sara.
"I know I could've used Swanna, but I think Roggenrola can handle it," replied Emma.
"I hope so," said Sara.
"Roggenrola use smack down,"
"Lunatone use rock throw,"
Roggenrola made a single rock near his mouth, after making it he sent it at Lunatone, who was more than prepared because he used his psychic power to lift a rock. Lunatone tossed that rock at the same time as Roggenrola did. Both rocks hit one another and both shattered.
"Lunatone use cosmic power,"
"Roggenrola use stone edge,"
Lunatone gathered power from space which boasted his defenses. Small rocks circled Roggenrola's body shortly after he sent them at Lunatone. Lunatone took only a small amount of damage from the attack.
"Lunatone use confusion,"
"Roggenrola use protect,"
A green shield covered Roggenrola which would protect him from Lunatone's attack. Lunatone's psychic attack did not damage to Roggenrola.
Roggenrola use stone edge again,"
"Lunatone use rock throw,"
Rather then using stone edge Roggenrola became a sliver color and he then sent a beam right at Lunatone. The beam shattered the rock and hit Lunatone. Lunatone hit the ground shock it off and got back into the air.
"Hmm, it looks like Roggenrola used flash cannon," said Sara.
Shortly after Roggenrola sent that beam he started to glow white, Roggenrola was evolving. After he stopped glowing Roggenrola was bigger he had red crystals in his body, he also had pincer like limbs.
"This battle just got more interesting," said Sara examining the evolution of Roggenrola in Boldore.
Emma was happy to see her new Boldore and she couldn't wait to see how powerful he was now.
"Boldore use flash cannon,"
"Lunatone use confusion,"
Boldore's red crystals became a sliver color for a few moments before he sent a beam of sliver at Lunatone. Lunatone's eyes turned blue and sent a wave weak psychic energy at Boldore. This psychic energy couldn't stop the sliver beam and that beam hit Lunatone and he crashed to the ground. Lunatone was unable to go on.
"Lunatone is unable to battle, Boldore wins," said Ricardo.
"Lunatone return and go Slowpoke," said Sara.
"Return Boldore and go Pichu," said Emma.
(In the Stands)
"Why is Emma using her newly hatched pokemon?" asked Katie to Brady.
"I think it is for type advantage," answered Brady.
"I get it then," replied Katie.
"It could be quite risky though," said Andrew.
"What do you mean?" asked Katie.
"Pichu has just as much chance of shocking itself when trying to attack," answered Andrew.
"That could work against Emma. The worst is this will be Pichu's first battle," said Katie.
"That makes it even worse," replied Andrew.
(Back to the Battle)
Emma's Pichu looks around and is scared of what's going on. Pichu looked over to Emma and ran over to her. Emma kneelt down to talk to Pichu she eventually picked him up to reassure him. After listening to what Emma said Pichu hopped back to the ground and looked ready to battle.
"Slowpoke use headbutt,"
"Pichu use thundershock,"
Slowpoke started to walk quickly towards Pichu who was charging up in order to send a jolt of thunder at Slowpoke. Slowpoke was just a few feet away from Pichu before he was hit with this jolt. Slowpoke was stopped. Unfortunately Pichu didn't stop there he did damage to himself because he shocked himself. Emma looked confused she didn't understand how Pichu shocked himself.
"How did Pichu shock himself?" asked Emma.
"I can answer that for you. Pichu doesn't quite know how much power he or she has and sometimes unleashes too much which hurts him just as much as it would to another pokemon," answered Sara.
"Is it because he just hatched from an egg?" asked Emma.
"No, its worse right out of the egg, but as you train him and he grows he'll be able to control his own power. After learning control Pichu might just be ready to evolve at that time," answered Sara.
"Thanks for explaining that," said Emma.
"It's all part of the job Emma," replied Sara.
"Pichu use disarming voice,"
"Slowpoke use water gun,"
Pichu let out a very charming cry that would effect a pokemon's emotions just like it did to Slowpoke. Slowpoke didn't want attack because the cry affected him because he started to fill sad around Pichu. Pichu looked excited and accidently sent out a jolt of thunder that hit almost hit those in the stands. After realizing it Pichu looked sad again.
"Another thing about Pichu is they are easily excited," said Sara.
"I seen that," replied Emma.
"Slowpoke snap out it and then use aqua tail,"
"Pichu use thunderpunch,"
Slowpoke's tail was coated in water as he moved at Pichu. Pichu's small hand became coated in electricity. Once Slowpoke reached Pichu, Pichu slammed his little hand into the head of Slowpoke, Slowpoke was unable to land his attack and better yet Slowpoke laid flat on the ground unable to battle.
"Slowpoke is unable to battle, Pichu wins," said Ricardo.
"For his first battle he did good," said Sara.
"I know I'm happy about how well it went," replied Emma.
"Return Slowpoke and go Malamar," said Sara.
"Return Pichu and go Venomoth," said Emma.
"So the plan is to use a bug type against him. I must say smart thinking," said Sara.
"Venomoth use air cutter,"
"Malamar use psybeam
Venomoth flapped his wings hard and created razor sharp winds and they went at Malamar. The razor sharp winds cut up Malamar but he still attacked. Malamar took a moment before sending a multi-color ray at Venomoth. Those colorful rays hit Venomoth and it confused him. Venomoth looked around the arena a perplexed look on his face.
"Return Venomoth and go Boldore," said Emma.
"Malamar use superpower,"
"Boldore use protect,"
Malamar made his way towards Boldore, Boldore brought a green shield that would protect him from the powerful fighting attack. Malamar slammed his tendrils onto the shield trying to break it but he could not.
"Boldore use stone edge,"
Malamar was still standing in front of Boldore when Boldore dropped his shield. Small rock circled his body for a short period before he sent them at Malamar. Malamar brought up his tendrils to protect himself but that did nothing to stop the rocks from hitting him.
"Malamar use slash,"
"Boldore use protect,"
Malamar moved over towards Boldore who once again brought up a shield to protect him. Malamar tried to slash at the shield but nothing could break it.
"Malamar now use superpower,"
"Boldore keep up the protect,"
Malamar brought up both his tendrils and slammed them onto the shield shattering it. He brought up his tendrils one more time and this time he slammed them right onto the back of Boldore. Boldore's body hit the ground, He barely hanged on all thanks to his ability sturdy. Boldore hung on with his effect but for Malamar his effect changed what superpower did they instead increased his attack and defense.
"Malamar finish it with one last psycho cut,"
One of Malamar's tendrils turned purple just before he slammed it into the back of Boldore. Boldore's time in the battle was as good as over.
"Boldore is unable to battle, Malamar wins," said Ricardo.
"Return Boldore and go Swanna," said Emma.
"Malamar use psybeam,"
"Swanna use water pulse,"
Malamar sent a colorful ray at Swanna, while Swanna sent a pulse or ball of water at Malamar. The ball of water blasted through the colorful and nailed Malamar in the belly. Malamar fell onto his back he didn't get up afterward.
"Malamar is unable to battle, Swanna wins," said Ricardo.
"It appears this pokemon is my last. So lets see how you against her," said Sara.
"Swanna will be able to handle him," replied Emma.
"Return Malamar and go Meowstic," said Sara.
Now standing in front of Sara is a white and blue bipedal feline pokemon. Her psychic powers originate from her ears.
"You were probably expecting Kadabra, but I changed him for her so lets see how you take down," said Sara.
"Swanna use wing attack,"
"Meowstic wait till she was in front of you then blast her with thunderbolt," said Sara.
Swanna's wings turned white as she dived at Meowstic. Meowstic just stood there waited for a few moments and just at the right time her ears lifted up and she sent a bolt of thunder at Swanna. The bolt nailed Swanna causing her to crash into the ground. Swanna tried to get back to her feet, but could not and she fainted.
"Swanna is unable to battle, Meowstic wins," said Ricardo.
"Return Swanna and go Venomoth," said Emma.
"Meowstic use thunderbolt one more time,"
"Venomoth dodge it and use sliver wind,"
Meowstic opened her ears again and sent a bolt of thunder right at Venomoth. Venomoth was quick enough to avoid the bolt of thunder, he then flapped his wings hard and he sent powdery scales that were picked up by the wind at Meowstic. It became to much of Meowstic and she was hit with each scale. The wind pushed her back towards her trainer. Meowstic was still standing even after taking the super effective.
"Meowstic use shadow ball,"
"Venomoth use sliver wind one more time,"
And again Venomoth flapped his wings hard the wind created sent scales blowing towards Meowstic. Meowstic's ears popped up again and created a dark shadowy ball that he sent at Venomoth. This shadow ball didn't even make it through the wind and was blown back towards Meowstic. Meowstic was hit with the powerful wind and this time she was pushed into the wall behind her trainer. Meowstic fell to the ground unable to get up.
"Meowstic is unable to battle, Venomoth wins. Emma is the winner," said Ricardo.
Sara returns her Meowstic and walks over to Emma.
"Congrats on your victory Emma and as a way to show you that you won here is your badge," said Sara handing Emma the spoon badge.
Emma takes the badge returns her Venomoth and walks back up to her friends. Sara looks up there before walking into the back to heal her pokemon. Brady made his way down to the arena to wait for Sara to be ready.
(Sara vs. Brady)
"So you are the last person I'm battling," said Sara.
"Yes I am," replied Brady.
"Let's not waste any time then whenever you are ready we can go," said Sara.
"Ok I'm ready," said Brady.
"This will be a four on four pokemon battle between Miss Sara the gym leader and the challenger Brady. This will be a four on four pokemon battle. Only the challenger can substitute pokemon. Miss Sara will call out her first pokemon," said Ricardo.
"Go Lunatone," said Sara.
"Go Nuzleaf," said Brady.
"Lunatone use rock throw,"
"Nuzleaf dodge it and use energy ball,"
Lunatone lifted up a rock with his psychic power and he sent it at Nuzleaf. Nuzleaf used his speed to avoid the rock. Nuzleaf then opened his mouth and made a green ball as soon as it was ready he sent it at Lunation. The energy ball exploded right on Lunatone it did a lot of damage, but Lunatone stayed in it.
"Great Nuzleaf is pretty damn fast. This could be a problem," said Sara to herself.
"Nuzleaf use razor leaf,"
Nuzleaf whipped his head and sent about four leaves right at Lunatone. Lunatone could do nothing so he had got hit by the leaves cutting him. Lunatone hit the ground unable to continue. The two super effective hits was just to much for Lunatone and he fainted.
"Lunatone is unable to battle, Nuzleaf wins," said Ricardo.
"Return Lunatone and go Slowpoke," said Sara.
"I'll stick with Nuzleaf," said Brady.
"Slowpoke use icy wind,"
"Nuzleaf dodge it and use nature power,"
Slowpoke opened his mouth and blew a chilled wind right at Nuzleaf. Once again Nuzleaf was able to use his speed to dodge it. He then used tri attack curtsey of nature power. Slowpoke was first burned which did nearly no damage, Slowpoke was then hit by ice which once again did little to no damage. It was the last hit that did the most and that was the thunder attack. The thunder attack shocked Slowpoke. After being hit by the thunder Slowpoke was paralyzed.
"Nuzleaf now use energy ball,"
"Slowpoke use icy wind,"
Slowpoke tried to use an attack but he couldn't due to the paralysis, Slowpoke also couldn't move so he was a sitting duck when he will be hit by Nuzleaf's energy ball. Nuzleaf opened his mouth and made a green ball of energy. Once it was ready he sent it at Slowpoke and the ball hit him in the head. This was enough to finish off Slowpoke. Nuzleaf was able to take out two of Sara's four pokemon.
"Slowpoke is unable to battle, Nuzleaf wins," said Ricardo.
Return Slowpoke and go Malamar," said Sara.
"Nuzleaf has got me this far I'll stick with him," said Brady.
"Malamar use superpower"
"Nuzleaf dodge it and use razor leaf,"
Malamar started to go at Nuzleaf, Nuzleaf picked up the pace and tried to avoid Malamar. For the most part Nuzleaf did so till he was caught by one of Malamar's tendrils to the gut. That stopped Nuzleaf and Malamar was able to deliver the superpower. Nuzleaf didn't withstand this attack and he fainted. Malamar's attack and defense was boasted because of the ability Malamar had.
"Nuzleaf is unable to battle, Malamar wins" said Ricardo.
"Return Nuzleaf and go Honchkrow," said Brady.
"That Honchkrow is going to make things difficult," said Sara.
"Honchkrow use shadow ball,"
"Malamar use slash to cut through the shadow ball,"
Honchkrow made a shadowy ball in front of his beak once the attack was ready the sent it at Malamar. Malamar readied one of his tendrils to cut through it. Once the ball was close enough Malamar slammed his tendril into the shadow ball splitting it into two pieces.
"Honchkrow now use wing attack,"
Honchkrow's wings turned white and he dived at Malamar. Malamar just sliced through the shadow ball he was unaware of Honchkrow diving at him. Honchkrow hit him once in the front with his left wing then his back with his right. Malamar still stood strong.
"Honchkrow use wing attack again,"
"Malamar use slash once Honchkrow is in front of you,"
Once again Honchkrow dived at Malamar both his wings were white. Malamar brought up one of his tendrils ready to slam it into Honchkrow. Malamar missed Honchkrow and was hit by Honchkrow's wings. After hitting Malamar Honchkrow flew back into the air. Even before Brady could give out an attack Honchkrow dived at Malamar as he was going down his whole body was glowing red but as he go closer he became blue. He hit right into the gut of Malamar. Malamar fell onto his back and fainted. Honchkrow took some damage from the attack as well. Honchkrow had learned brave bird.
"Malamar is unable to battle, Honchkrow wins," said Ricardo.
"Your Honchkrow just used brave bird. Impressive you have only used two pokemon to take out three of mine. You have great potential, Eli was right about you he saw some of Andrew in you and I can agree," said Sara.
"Thanks," replied Brady.
"Return Malamar and go Kadabra," said Sara.
"Honchkrow can finish this battle for me," said Brady.
"Kadabra use charge beam,"
"Honchkrow dodge the attack and use shadow ball,"
Kadabra extended his one spoon and sent a beam of thunder at Honchkrow. Honchkrow managed to avoid it he then made a shadowy ball in front of his beak he then sent it at Kadabra. The shadow ball hit Kadabra and sent it flying back. Kadabra got back to his feet and moved back over to in front of Sara.
"Honchkrow use brave bird,"
Honchkrow flew high into the sky and dived at Kadabra he started a red color and once he got closer he became blue he nailed Kadabra in the gut and sent him flying into a wall. Once he hit the wall Kadabra had fainted.
"Kadabra is unable to battle, Honchkrow wins. Brady is the winner," said Ricardo.
Sara returned Kadabra and walked over to Brady. Emma, Zac, Katie and Andrew joined Brady on the arena. Sara handed him the spoon badge before talking to them.
(After the Battle)
"Andrew this one might be a challenge to you when he gets to the Champion's Cup," said Sara to Andrew.
"I guess we'll see," replied Andrew.
"Now onto the other news the next gym is in Cincinnati, Ohio. The gym leader there specializes in electric type pokemon," said Sara.
"It looks like that's where we'll be heading too tomorrow," said Brady.
"Now good luck to all of you on your journey and once you make it to the Champion's Cup," said Sara walking to the back room.
(At the Pokemon Center)
Brady, Emma, Zac, Katie, and Andrew all left the gym and walked over to the Pokemon Center. All of them got their pokemon healed before deciding to rest for the evening and leave in the morning. Zac and Brady sat upstairs , Emma went over to the computer and Andrew and Katie were sitting down watching a press conference Jen had held at the Pokemon League. Most of the questions were wither about the orbs or the condition of the region's champion. Jen had decided to avoid getting into to much detail about both. After listening for about 10 minutes Andrew turned the TV and him and Katie walked upstairs. After all the gym battles and the press conference it was 7 at night. The nurse fixed dinner for everyone they ate, took a shower and went to bed for the night.
(In Hawaii with Harold and Juan)
"Harold this is Juan check in," said Juan.
"Juan I think I found something," said Harold.
How about that for an ending of a chapter. What do you think they found? How did he find it? Hopefully all these questions will be answered in the chapters that follow. The next gym badge will mark the half way point for our travelers or heroes.
Trainer Update:
Katie, Brady, Emma, and Zac all earned their 7th badge.
Brady was again compared to Andrew.
We also learned Andrew has a special connection to a fountain in Richmond. Katie and him shared a moment with it.
In the next chapter I might share some of what dreamed just have to wait to see.
Poke Update:
Zac's Skorupi evolved into Drapion.
Emma's Roggenrola evolved into Boldore.
Katie's Absol is defiantly different.
