I'm so sorry for going MIA everyone! Life suddenly got a little problematic... but I will try my best to update as much as I can. Thank you so much!
A Late November sigh left her lungs filling her lungs with the chill emptiness of the season as she dragged her feet down the stone grey walkway of entrance to Ouran. She broke her slow rhythmic steps and cringed at the sound of roaring engines behind her, wondering whether the volume was actually loud or just her morning sensitivity.
"Shitoyaka! Shitoyaka!" A melodic voice rang in her ears. Was she hearing things now? She proceeded. "Yuubi! Wait up!" She stopped without interest, rolled her head in hopes to relieve her aching neck. Her actions had now become so naturally masculine; it was almost embarrassing to admit. The voice laughed, "Didn't sleep too well?" In response, she lazily scoffed and nodded as an arm cheerily landed atop her shoulders. "Tell me about it," he whined. "Kaoru hogged the whole bed last night… I was on the floor by midnight."
A smile involuntarily ran across the androgynous girl's face. Tired and discouraged, she was, but content as well as his spoiled fluid voice ran through her ears complaining out of love about his beloved twin. "Hey! Hey! Jeez! Are you even listening to me?" She snapped into reality and questioningly glanced over at the lean fire haired boy who seemed to pout a little at her unresponsiveness. "Get some sleep or something. It's annoying to see you this way," he murmured softly.
"What?"
"Nothing! You've just been so passive lately." His groan almost carried an aggressive undertone as he spoke. "I heard you haven't slept at all for three days!"
She slightly chuckled and hesitated before defending herself. "Midterms are almost over, so it's fine. Just two more days."
"Don't push yourself too hard. You'll probably pass out," he muttered. "Not that I care or anything! Do whatever you want," he quickly clarified.
Her insensible dark brown irises that sat above bags of purple stole another glance at him, then to her surprise, at the door to her classroom. She turned to him, who was looking straight ahead at the entrance, hands in his pockets. "Whoa! You walked me all the way to my class?" She turned to him with curiosity and forced a somewhat reassuring and energetic smile. "Thanks Hikaru!" He nodded, blushed slightly, and turned immediately to leave.
…..
"Huh? Hikaru!" The younger twin rushed by his side and loosely draped his arms across Hikaru's shoulders as he entered the classroom. "Why are you so late to class? Especially when you ditched me to come early today," he questioned with a semi-suspicious note in his voice.
"Oh, I just ran into our toy for a little. You know how she is."
Kaoru's expression changed momentarily into a slight envy and then full curiosity. "How is she? I heard she hasn't been sleeping well lately, staying up for finals," he began. "Are you worried about her as well?" Hikaru seemed to stare ahead, to which Kaoru warmly smiled and sighed. "Me too... and she isn't a natural genius like Haruhi…" he paused at the heavy truth of that statement. "Let's just she aces them!"
A gentle passive nod was Hikaru's response as the twins contemplated their beloved friend and club member's overworking tendencies. They've been preparing for the exams as well; however, like others at Ouran, their parents had invested thousands of dollars into one on one private education to ensure that they ranked at least top ten among their classes in their highly competitive school. Obviously, Kyoya and Haruhi ranked first place among their grade levels due to their natural genius and ambitious drive. No one could dream of competing with those two; that's why they're most popular with the brightest girls from the school, daughters of medical companies, world renowned lawyers, and more.
