(Saturday)
Emma, Brady, and Katie were up and ready to go walk over to the gym. You could see Katie was still angry with Emma, but that was least on her mind. Her main focus was earning the shadow badge from Adrian the gym leader. All three of them left the Pokemon Center and walked over to the mansion like gym. Once inside a butler was waiting for them.
"Welcome to the Gomez Manor also home of the 9th gym. The leader Adrian and his ghost pokemon are more than ready to battle all of you. So you all will follow me up the stairs. Two of you will go left and find a seat in the balcony overseeing the arena. The other one of you will follow me to the arena for a battle. So you three can deiced who wants to go first and that person will follow me," said the butler.
"I'll go first this time," said Emma.
"Ok good luck," replied Brady.
They both looked over to Katie and she nothing. For the time being she refused to speak to Emma. They all walked up the stairs. Brady and Katie went left while Emma went right with the butler. Katie and Brady found a seat on a balcony while Emma was taken to the arena. It was pitch black in the arena you could not see a thing. Adrian snapped his fingers and the whole place lite up. Now standing across from Emma was a middle aged gentlemen he was dressed up nice in a two piece black suit he had a purple tie and had what little hair he had brushed down. He unbuttoned his suit jacket and now you could see five pokeballs on his belt.
"Hello miss my name is Adrian Gomez also known as the 9th gym leader. I specialize in ghost type pokemon. You should have no problem's in this battle unless you scared of the dark or can't beat my ghost pokemon," said Adrian who snapped his fingers again.
Most of the lights went off again. All that was lite was the arena and where Brady and Katie were seated. The butler took his spot on the arena to ref the match. Emma walked over to her spot across the arena from Adrian. The butler spoke up once again.
"Miss what is your name?" asked the Butler.
"My name is Emma Hopkins," replied Emma.
"Now miss Emma here are the rules. This will be a 4 on 4 battle between you Miss Emma and the gym leader Adrian. Only you Miss Emma will be allowed to substitute throughout the battle. The battle will be over when wither you or Adrian loss all four of your pokemon. This battle will be for the shadow badge. Adrian can call out his pokemon first," explained the Butler.
(Gym Battle: Emma vs. Leader Adrian)
"Go Haunter," said Adrian.
"Go Venomoth," said Emma.
"I'm going to go out on a limb here and say your Venomoth here knows a psychic move," said Adrian.
"Your right," replied Emma.
"Good then this should be fun," stated Adrian.
"I fear for Emma," said Brady over to Katie after looking over the situation.
Katie didn't respond to him either she just sat there into the battle. He looked over to her, she just didn't have anything to say to him either.
"From what I have seen that line of ghost pokemon. I mean Ghastly, Haunter, and Gengar are all quick on there feet. I don't think Emma could match them speed wise. She'll just have to overpower Haunter that's all," said Brady.
Katie looked at him and shrugged and then turned her attention back to the battle.
"Haunter use shadow punch,"
"Venomoth use psybeam,"
Haunter made a fist with his ghost like hands and sent a larger version of that fist at Venomoth. Venomoth shot from his eyes a ray of peculiar colors. This ray was sent at the ghost fists and caused them to explode.
"Haunter now use shadow ball,"
"Venomoth use psybeam again,"
Haunter brought his two hands together and made a purple ball of shadows in between them. He sent it at Venomoth who had just sent a colorful ray at the shadow ball. The two attacks collided and the ray of colors exploded the shadow ball and continued till it hit Haunter. Venomoth kept the ray up till Haunter fell from where he was floating to the ground. The Butler looked over at Haunter and called the match.
"Haunter is unable to battle, Venomoth wins," said the Butler.
"Hmm... I think it's time I readjust what I'm going to do next. So let's see if Venomoth can beat this. Return Haunter and go Lampent," said Adrian.
"Venomoth you ready to go again?" asked Emma.
"My dear that would be a big mistake. Lampent is a fire type and I know mine does know a few fire type moves," replied Adrian.
"My Venomoth is very resilient," Emma shot back.
"That doesn't matter. He still has a weakness to fire attacks. If you don't want to take my word for it then fine, but I'll show you then," replied Adrian.
"Venomoth use air cutter,"
"Lampent use flame burst,"
Lampent sent a burst of flames before Venomoth could send blades of wind. The burst of flames exploded on him and sent him into the ground. Venomoth managed to hang on but barely.
"I warned you young lady. When you mess with fire you have a tendency to get burned. You should've thought about what I said," Adrian said sternly.
"Venomoth use psybeam,"
"Lampent use inferno,"
Emma watched helplessly as her Venomoth was surrounded by flames. The flames released an intense heat that instantly dropped Venomoth to the ground. Venomoth was done in this battle.
"Venomoth is unable to battle, Lampent wins," said the Butler.
"A trainer of your caliber shouldn't be making mistakes like that. You have earned 8 gym badges and yet keeping Venomoth in was a rookie mistake. I hope you learned not to make that mistake again," said Adrian.
"I won't. Return Venomoth and go Swanna," said Emma.
"So you actually thought about your next move and went out to a weakness of Lampent," said Adrian.
"Swanna use water pulse,"
"Lampent use double team,"
Lampent moved so fast that it looked like their were more of him. This action confused Swanna.
"Swanna just focus and we'll find the real one," said Emma.
Swanna watched intently as Lampent kept moving. When Swanna finally spotted Lampent she made a ball of water and sent it at him. Once this ball of water hit him he hit the ground and he had a confused look on his face.
"Very good you saw through my trickery to find the real one and now he's confused," said Adrian.
"Thank you," replied Emma.
"Now we still have a battle to get back to and Lampent is far from done," said Adrian.
"Swanna use wing attack,"
Swanna dived at Lampent her wings white. Lampent was confused and had no idea what was going before he was hit by one of those wings. Swanna then turned around and flew back at Lampent hitting him with her other wing. Lampent still hung on.
"Swanna we have to finish this with water pulse one more time,"
"Lampent use inferno,"
Swanna sent a ball of water at Lampent. Lampent was still confused and hurt himself trying to use and attack. That combined with getting hit with the ball of water ended Lampent.
"Damn, confusion came back to hurt me this time around," said Adrian.
"Lampent is unable to battle, Swanna wins," said the butler.
"So it appears I have two pokemon left. They will not be easy so let's get to it. Return Lampent and go Sableye," said Adrian.
"Return Swanna and go Floette," said Emma.
"A fairy type pokemon to counter my Sableye. Smart thinking miss Emma, but my Sableye does have a trick or two up his sleeve," replied Adrian.
"Floette use disarming voice,"
"Sableye use protect,"
Sableye brought up a green shield that protected him from the charming cry that Floette let out.
"Sableye drop the shield and use poison jab,"
Sableye dropped his shield and ran at Floette. As he ran at her one of his hands was covered in poison.
"Floette let out disarming voice again,"
As Sableye got closer and closer, Floette once again released a charming cry. This cry stopped Sableye and forced him to cover his ears. Not only did Sableye to cover his ears he also took damage from it.
"Now Floette use sunny day,"
Floette sent a bright yellow ball into the air above the arena. This instantly lite the whole arena up.
"What is she up too?" asked Adrian to himself.
Adrian thought over everything before calling out his next attack.
"Sableye use shadow claw,"
"Floette use solarbeam,"
Floette took in a large amount of sun from the sun hanging over the arena. Once she was done charging she sent a yellow beam right at Adrian's Sableye who was rushing at her. The beam nailed Sableye and sent him into the wall behind Adrian. Adrian was in complete disbelief on how quickly that solarbeam hit. He knew that sunny day super charged the attack, but he was at odds by it.
"No, this can't be happening," said Adrian.
"Sableye is unable to battle, Floette wins," said the butler.
"So it appears that I'm down to my last ghost pokemon. Let's see how you can handle this one. Return Sableye and go Dusclops," said Adrian.
"Floette let's keep at it," replied Emma.
"Dusclops use shadow sneak,"
"Floette we still have the sun so show him solarbeam,"
Dusclops' shadow flew from under him all the way across the arena and behind Floette. Even as the shadow came at her Floette still absorbed the sunlight and sent a bright yellow beam at him. Before Floette could send the beam the shadow that was now behind her attacked. The attack did some damage, but not enough to stop the Fairy Pokemon from sending her beam. Dusclops stood strong and powerful as the beam hit him and didn't do enough to faze him.
"Dusclops has a high defensive stat. You'll have to do more than one solarbeam to make it past him, but by the looks of the sun that might have been your last," said Adrian.
"Return Floette and go Combusken," said Emma.
"Interesting choice Miss Emma. What makes you think I don't have a psychic move on Dusclops here. You have to think about that type of thing before going to your next pokemon. That type of mistake could easily cost you a match," replied Adrian.
"Combusken use shadow claw,"
"Dusclops use thunderpunch,"
Combusken ran at Dusclops with the claws on the end of one of his hands dark and purple. Dusclops' left hand crackled with electricity as he tried to swing at Combusken who ducked under the hand delivered his shadow claw to the gut. Dusclops still stood strong.
"Combusken is quick," commented Adrian.
"Combusken now use flamethrower,"
Combusken jumped back and sent a stream of fire at Dusclops.
"Dusclops use psychic,"
While the stream of fire was coming towards him. Dusclops' eye turned blue and he stopped the stream coming at him with. Dusclops then reversed it back at Combusken. Combusken brought up both his arms to take cover from the attack. After taking the hit Combusken's arms were at his sides and he was breathing heavily.
"Dusclops now use shadow punch,"
Dusclops punched the air and this sent a dark shadowy punch in the direction of Combusken who did nothing to dodge it or use an attack to beat back. The punch nailed him and sent him flying back in front of Emma.
"Combusken," said Emma looking at him with concern.
Combusken stood up and continued to go on. Then it happened Combusken started to glow white. Combusken was evolving. This new evolution was taller and had feather coming out of his head. These feathers were also on his chest and abdomen. His claws now had grey wristband-like markings, these marking allowed him to produce fire there. He know had yellow feathers on his feet. He can now spout flames from his ankles as well.
"Well I'll be it appears Combusken evolved into Blaziken," commented Adrian.
The wristbands on Blaziken's arms lite up with fire as he was ready to battle. Everyone then noticed that Blaziken started to run at Dusclops one of his feet now in flames. Blaziken kicked Dusclops and it sent him flying to the left.
"I know that move. That was blaze kick," commented Brady.
Katie just shrugged and continued to watch as her sister just beat Adrian's best pokemon. Dusclops lay where he landed on the ground. Emma and her newly evolved Blaziken had won her the match.
"Dusclops is unable to battle, Blaziken wins. Emma is the winner," said the butler.
Adrian returned his Dusclops and then walked over to Emma and her Blaziken.
"Miss Emma your pokemon's timing is impeccable. Your Combusken evolved just at the right moment in battle and that lead him to beat my Dusclops. As a gym leader it makes me happy to see such a thing and to reward you for your win I present you with the shadow badge," said Adrian handing Emma the shadow badge.
Adrian then looked up at the other two sitting down in the balcony. Before he walked off to go heal his pokemon he yelled to those sitting up there.
"Which ever one of you wants to go next please come down here and wait for me," said Adrian.
Katie looked over to Brady before standing up and left to go down and battle. On her way down she passed Emma, they said nothing and continued on their way. Emma took a seat next to Brady while Katie waited down in the arena.

Adrian returned to the arena and stood ready to go. The Butler looked over at him and then back over to Katie.
"Miss would you tell me your name?" asked the butler.
"My name is Katie Hopkins," replied Katie.
"Now it's time to explain the rules. This will be a 4 on 4 pokemon battle. Only Miss Katie will be able to substitute pokemon throughout the battle. This battle will be over when either you or Adrian loss all four of your pokemon. If you both are ready then Adrian will call out his pokemon first," explained the butler.
"Go Haunter" said Adrian.
"Go Absol," said Katie.
"Already going out to a dark type you sure have the advantage in this battle. I'll give you that you played smart and went out with a pokemon none of mine could do much damage on," said Adrian.
"I knew what I was doing from the start when I heard you had ghost pokemon," replied Katie.
"Well let's not waste anymore time then," said Adrian.
"Absol use night slash,"
"Haunter dodge it,"
Absol's scythe turned a dark black color as he ran at Haunter. Haunter had to use all of the speed he had to stop from getting hit from the attack. After a few seconds more Absol gave up on chasing down Haunter.
"Haunter use wil-o-wisp,"
"Absol use detect and then follow up with dark pulse,"
Haunter started to move his hands and created small purple flames and then sent them at Absol. Absol quickly picked up the pace to avoid those flames. After getting away from the flames, he sent a dark pulse of energy at Haunter. Haunter's eyes got large as he watched the attack come at him once the attack landed he sent into the ground right in front of his trainer.
Brady and Emma were both shocked to see that it only took one attack from Absol to beat down Haunter.
"Since that event with the 7th gym leader Absol is looking more powerful then ever," commented Brady.
"I know what you mean. We all saw what happened to him. I just don't know what that was or how he did it," replied Emma.
"If I may ask Miss Katie what event are those to talking about?" asked Adrian pointing to Emma and Brady.
"Absol and I were battling Sara and her Malamar. After taking hit after hit I thought Absol was done, but this dark aura surrounded him at a moment of need and made his dark pulse even more powerful and more like a beam of sorts. Andrew didn't even know what it was he had never seen anything like it," replied Katie.
"That sounds like something I've seen before. I believe it was in my home state of Maryland at a State Tournament. If I remember correctly the battle was between Daniel and his younger brother David. It was Daniel's Lucario I believed he called it Hypermode," said Adrian.
"Is it the same Daniel that has been battling Andrew?" asked Katie.
"I believe it is. From what I saw Hypermode's power could only be matched by Andrew's Mega Lucario," replied Adrian.
"Thank you for telling me that," said Katie.
"Shall we get back to the battle then?" asked Adrian.
"Yeah," replied Katie.
"Ok my butler will call the round then," said Adrian.
"Haunter is unable to battle, Absol wins," said the butler.
Adrian returned Haunter and unclipped his next pokeball. He then tossed it out and out popped a his Sableye.
"Now without a dark weakness let's see how handle him," said Adrian.
"Absol will more than be able handle him," replied Katie.
"You have spunk and confidence and I like that, but let's see if you can back that up," said Adrian.
"I intend to," Katie shot back at him at Adrian.
"Sableye use brick break,"
"Absol use detect and follow up with thunderbolt,"
Sableye looked over at Absol then ran at him. Once he reached Absol he made a straight hand out of his ghost hand and tried to hit Absol in the head. Absol jumped back to dodge it and sent out a bolt of thunder at Sableye. Sableye didn't have time to or even move before the bolt nailed him. After taking the bolt he had been paralyzed and unable to move.
"This could complicate things," responded Adrian.
"Absol blast him with dark pulse,"
Absol sent a pulse of dark energy at Sableye who was unable to move. The pulse nailed him and sent him back to in front of Adrian. Sableye managed to get back up, yet he was still paralyzed. Adrian was perplexed on what he was going to do with Sableye. He was paralyzed and may not be able to move and if he could he would be slow.
"Sableye use shadow ball,"
"Absol use night slash,"
Absol started to sprint at Sableye with his scythe all black. Sableye tried to move, but couldn't and he was forced to get slashed by the scythe and after getting hit he fainted.
"Sableye is unable to battle, Absol wins," said the butler.
"I must say that Absol of yours is defiantly differnet. I have battle an Absol or two, but your is completely opposite to those. Something about this one it's just hard to explain," said Adrian.
"I caught Absol a while back I still don't know all about him," replied Katie.
"I see. Return Sableye and go Golett," said Adrian.
"Absol it's time for a break so return, and go Servine," said Katie.
"I'm confused why you would do that. Absol hasn't taken much damage so why switch out?" asked Adrian.
"Absol has been battling hard I think he need's a break ," replied Katie.
"That's commendable," commented Adrian.
"A Golett. I haven't seen one before, but I do know he does have a weakness to grass which favors me," thought Katie.
"Golett use fire punch,"
"Servine use vine whip to wrap around him,"
Golett started to fly at him with one of his hands all decked out in fire. Servine sent out vines that wrapped around Golett. Those vines didn't stop Golett and he kept coming till he landed the fire punch to the belly of Servine. Servine retracted his vines and was sent into the wall behind Katie. Servine was quick to get back to his feet.
"Golett now show him ice punch,"
Once again Golett was flying at Servine.
"Servine use leaf blade,"
As Golett finally reached Servine the fist that was covered in an icy mist was meet head on with Servine's tail that was all green. The contact with the punch started to freeze Servine. Servine was forced to stop his attack and was frozen from the neck down.
"Golett let's make short work of this and use fire punch one last time,"
"Servine you have to free yourself," a concerned Katie responded.
Golett for the last time flew hard at Servine. Once he was close enough his fist coated in flames made contact and shattered the ice and Golett was now pushing him toward the wall. On the way into the wall Servine started to evolve. His body and got longer. The single yellow extension Servine and turned into two. He know had two green extensions curled near his neck. Katie's newly evolved Serperior wrapped his whole body around Golett and sent him flying back.
"This just got even more complicated. I watched your sister's Combusken evolve and now I had to stand here and watch Servine evolve in a battle," Adrian said annoyed of his luck.
"I think it's actually quite funny," replied Katie with a smile on her face.
"I don't find any of this funny," responded Adrian.
"Serperior now use leaf blade,"
"Golett get up and use dynamic punch,"
Golett quickly got up and flew at Serperior. Serperior stood there and waited his tail all green. Once Golett got to him Serperior, Serperior jumped off the ground and over Golett and dropped his green coated tail to the back of Golett. This instantly dropped Golett from the air to the ground lying face down in the dirt.
"Golett is unable to battle, Serperior wins," said the butler.
"It's hard to believe that I'm one pokemon away from getting swept by you. Two names keep coming to mind when I think of someone sweeping my team of four," said Adrian.
Katie could basically guess the two trainers Adrian had mentioned. One has to be Andrew and other had to be Daniel. She had watched both these trainers battle and are the two that would fit the bill.
"Well return Golett and go Dusclops," said Adrian.
"Serperior I'm going to stick with you," Katie said looking over to her Serperior.
Serperior looked at her and shook his head up and down and then turned his attention back to Dusclops.
"Dusclops use fire punch,"
"Serperior use leaf tornado,"
Sharp leaves circled around Dusclops. These sharp leaves prevented him from moving and even making contact with Serperior. These sharp leaves cut and slashed Dusclops. After all the leaves finally hit the ground Dusclops still stood strong.
"Dusclops use ice punch,"
"Serperior use vine whip to wrap his hands up,"
Serperior sent vines at Dusclops. These vines wrapped around Dusclops' ghost like hands. Dusclops was unable to use ice he could move, but the vines prevented Dusclops from using an attack. After trapping Dusclops, Serperior then sent larger vines that connected all over Dusclops and started to drain his energy.
"Dusclops we have to get out of this giga drain before it takes all your energy," Adrian said concerningly.
Dusclops tried to move, but he couldn't all his energy had been drained and the only action he could do was fall flat on the ground. Serperior withdrew all the vines and watched Dusclops closely to see if he was going to get up, he didn't.
"Dusclops is unable to battle, Serperior wins. Katie is the winner," said the butler.
(After the Battle)
Katie tossed a look up at Emma and then looked back at Adrian who had just returned Dusclops and walked over to her.
"What do you think that look means?" asked Brady to Emma.
"If I had to guess she was rubbing it in my face that she ended up beating Adrian flawlessly," Emma replied angrily.
"Emma why do you sound angry?" asked Brady.
"Katie seemed so smug on the way she just won. Some of Andrew's worse traits are running off on her too. I mean Andrew can come off so smug sometimes and just this moment Katie did," replied Emma.
Brady looked at her then back down to see Katie getting her shadow badge from Adrian. This meant it was his turn to battle Adrian and he stood up and started to walk down. He passed Katie on his way to the arena. She walked past him and out the Gym. Katie made her way over to the Pokemon Center and got her pokemon healed. This left Emma sitting up there alone waiting for Brady's battle to begin. Adrian walked into the back and walked back with his pokemon fully healed and ready to go.
(Gym Battle: Brady vs. Leader Adrian)
"What is your name young man?" asked the Butler.
"My name is Brady Anderson," replied Brady.
"Well nice to meet you. Moving right along to battle now. This will be a four on four pokemon battle between Mr. Brady and Adrian for the shadow badge. Only Mr. Brady will able to substitute pokemon. This battle will be over when either Adrian's or Brady's four pokemon can't go on. Adrian will call on his pokemon first," said the butler.
"Go Golett," said Adrian.
"Go Nuzleaf," said Brady.
"So you went to a grass type," commented Adrian.
"Nuzleaf use razor leaf,"
"Golett use fire punch,"
Golett flew at Nuzleaf with one of his fist's covered in fire. Nuzleaf whipped his head and sent six leaves at Golett. His fist burned the first few, but eventually the other leaves stopped him and forced him to bring up his arms cover his face.
"This is our moment now use energy ball,"
Nuzleaf opened his mouth and made a green ball of energy which he sent once it was ready at Golett who was still covering his face. The green ball exploded once it made contact with Golett's arms. The explosion pushed Golett back to right in front of his trainer Adrian.
"Now is our chance charge up a solar beam,"
"Golett move quickly at him with fire punch,"
Nuzleaf started to absorb as much sun as he could as Golett flew fast and furious at Nuzleaf with one of his arms covered in flames. It was to late when Golett finally reached Nuzleaf as he had charged up enough and sent a beam of orange that nailed Golett and sent him right into the wall behind Adrian.
"Golett is unable to battle, Nuzleaf wins," said the butler.
"Return Golett and go Lampent," said Adrian.
"Return Nuzleaf and go Prinplup," said Brady.
"Lampent use energy ball,"
"Prinplup use metal claw to cut through it,"
Right in front of Lampent's body he made a green ball of energy. He then sent it at Prinplup. The light blue on Prinplup's flippers turned sliver as the energy ball flew at him. Prinplup cut the energy ball in half with the metal claw.
"Prinplup is our turn now use hydro pump,"
Prinplup sent out a torrent of water at Lampent.
"Lampent use shadow ball,"
Lampent charged and sent a dark shadowy ball at the torrent of water that was rushing at him. The hydro pump smashed through the shadow ball with ease and found it's mark on Lampent. Lampent fell from where he was floating to the ground.
"Lampent is unable to battle, Prinplup wins," said the butler.
"It will appear you took down my first two with ease and I give good job for that but let's see how these last two do," said Adrian.
"I'm more than ready for them," replied Brady.
"I guess we'll see. Return Lampent and go Sableye," said Adrian.
"I'm going to stick with Prinplup here," replied Brady.
"Sableye use shock wave,"
Sableye sent a quick jolt of electricity at Prinplup. This jolt was unavoidable and Prinplup was struck by it and he still shook it off.
"Prinplup use hydro pump,"
"Sableye, shadow sneak,"
Sableye's shadow extended from underneath him all the way across the arena till sneaking up behind Prinplup. Prinplup was unaware that the shadow was behind and he sent a torrent of water at Sableye. Sableye took the hit from hydro pump fairly well and then attacked Prinplup with his shadow. The attack knocked Prinplup to a knee. After shaking his head Prinplup stood back up.
"Sableye use shock wave,"
Again Sableye sent a quick jolt of electricity at Prinplup. This jolt once again found it's mark and just as quick as it struck him it stopped and again Prinplup was on one knee.
"Prinplup can barely survive all these quick attacks. Its taking a lot out of him I'm not sure how much more he'll take," acknowledged Brady after looking over the current situation.
Prinplup was back to his feet just as Brady came out of his thought. He looked over at Prinplup trying to gauge how much he has left, but it's hard to tell. Prinplup refused to give up and wanted to win Brady this battle.
"Sableye use thunderpunch,"
"Prinplup use hydro pump,"
Prinplup sent a torrent of water at Sableye who was moving at Prinplup with one of his small hands pulsing with electricity. The torrent of water found it's mark and for the moment stopped Sableye. Sableye kept at thought and managed to push on and hit Prinplup in the gut with his hand pulsing with electricity. Again this knocked Prinplup down to one knee.
"Do it again Sableye,"
Sableye was standing right in front of Prinplup ready to deliver another powerful thunder attack, but he was stopped by Prinplup glowing all white. For the third time in a battle for Adrian a pokemon was evolving. Prinplup was larger and more menacing. His beak was larger and now had three yellow horns that resembled a trident and had three yellow claws on his flippers now. He has two yellow pumps on his back.
While Sableye was still in front of Brady's new Empoleon he surround himself in water and picked up Sableye and pushed him all the way into the wall. Sableye fell off the wall and fainted.
"What are the chances that all three of you had a pokemon evolve on me. I mean this is hard to believe," said Adrian annoyed of what had just happened.
"Sableye is unable to battle, Empoleon wins," said the butler.
"Return Sableye and go Dusclops," said Adrian.
"Empoleon return and go Honchkrow," said Brady.
"You have two dark pokemon. Interesting," said Adrian.
"I know, but with Nuzleaf he's more of a grass pokemon for me than anything else," replied Brady.
"I seen that and I agree with that. It's good to use as a grass type pokemon. I do hope you plan on evolving him soon. As a Shiftry he becomes a lot quicker," said Adrian.
"I do plan to. I just don't know when," replied Brady.
"Don't take to long to decide because after evolving Nuzleaf will have to work on his new found speed," commented Adrian.
"Thank you for the advice," replied Brady.
"It's one of my jobs to do," said Adrian.
Both looked at each other than over to their pokemon. Both of them were ready to go at it. Honchkrow was in the air and Dusclops was on the ground.
"Dusclops use ice beam,"
"Honchkrow dodge the ice attack and use night slash,"
Dusclops' eye turned light blue and he sent a rigid beam of ice at Honchkrow. Honchkrow use his speed to dodge the attack and then fly at Dusclops with his wings a pitch black color. Honchkrow hit once in the front and on the way back he hit him again. Dusclops again showed off his defense and withstood the attack.
"Dusclops use charge beam,"
"Honchkrow use brave bird,"
Honchkrow flew high into the sky and dived back down he started red then turned to blue as he got closer to Dusclops. Honchkrow landed his attack and hit Dusclops in the belly and just like before Dusclops withstood the hit. While behind Dusclops Honchkrow took recoil damage. While taking the recoil damage Dusclops turned around and sent a single beam of electricity at Honchkrow. This beam shocked Honchkrow and forced him to crash into the ground. The combo of recoil damage and charge beam was just enough to take down Honchkrow.
"Honchkrow is unable to battle, Dusclops wins," said the butler.
"Return Honchkrow and go Empoleon," said Brady.
"Dusclops use charge beam again,"
"Empoleon use aqua jet,"
Empoleon surrounded himself in water and rushed at Dusclops. Dusclops sent a beam of electricity at the pokemon rushing at him. The beam hit the water, but didn't stop Empoleon even as he was getting shocked he still found his mark and nailed Dusclops. After taking this hit Dusclops finally fell and fainted. Brady had just won the match and thanks to both his Empoleon and his Honchkrow.
"Dusclops is unable to battle, Empoleon wins," said the butler.
"Well congrats Mr. Brady on a job well done. You along side your two lovely companions have earned the 9th gym badge," said Adrian handing Brady his shadow badge.
Emma and ran down and joined Brady down in the arena. Katie was still at the Pokemon Center she had nothing to say to them and thought best just to go and relax back at the Pokemon Center.
"Now the next gym will be a lot harder than me. The next one is the 10 and it is in Kansas City, Kansas. which happens to also house a Pokemon Contest in the coming weeks. The gym leader there specializes in ground pokemon. Her two pokemon to look for is a Quagsire and a Rhydon both are very strong and hard to take down. Well good luck and till next time I bid you all a found fare well," said Adrian leaving the arena.
The butler showed the other two out and they walked back over to the Pokemon Center. Katie was upstairs and the two of them took a seat on the couch while they got their pokemon checked.
(At the Pokemon Center)
"I can't believe she just left after her battle," said Emma annoyed of Katie's actions.
"Em just relax and maybe try talking to her," replied Brady.
"Your right I'm going to go up there and go talk to her," said Emma getting up and walking upstairs.
Emma sat down and looked over to Katie who was brushing her Espeon. Katie looked over to her and then went back to looking down at Espeon.
"Katie can we talk?" asked Emma.
"About what?" replied Katie.
"I just want to talk to you that's all," said Emma.
"Fine I'll listen to what you have to say," replied Katie.
"Katie you and I may not see eye to eye, but I'm looking out for you and I want what's best for you and like already said Andrew isn't the best for you. You know that he is very hard to know and talk to," said Emma.
"Em I'm old enough to know what's right for me and what's wrong," replied Katie.
"You think you know what right and not. I mean of three guys you know I would have to say Andrew's the worse of them," said Emma.
"You don't know him like I do so don't say anything till you actually talk to him," replied Katie.
"I guess your right about that. I'll talk to him tomorrow when we all get to Boston," said Emma.
Emma left Katie alone after saying that and rejoined Brady. He was just printing out the tickets for the airplane ride that his dad bought him. They have to leave early tomorrow so after getting their pokemon back and eating dinner the three of them went to bed.
(Sunday Morning)
It was around 3am when they got up and packed up and left. After taking an early bus to the airport they got there around 4am. They checked their tickets and their bags and just waited around for the plane. They were all tired so they weren't talking much. After waiting an another hour they were finally on the plane and on their way back to Boston.
Ok let's start by saying I actually planned on having their starters evolve all in one chapter. after getting their gym badges in Madison they are finally on their way home for a week. The next time we see these three their plane will have already landed in Boston and they are on their way home. The next chapter will start with Andrew and his flight to Boston. So stay tuned for that.
I also want to say if I don't manage to get another chapter out tomorrow I would like to take a moment and thank everyone for the continued support it will be 2 years tomorrow that I have started this story and I am extremely grateful for those who have supported this story. Brady and Emma will capture one more pokemon before they are done capturing pokemon. We will start to see their teams finally finish. We will also see which of Katie's three pokemon will become Mega.
