"Good Morning Washington DC and I should say Happy Halloween to those morning listeners," said the radio host.
Andrew woke up abruptly when he heard the radio going off. He kept it playing as he was getting up. Katie was in the shower since you could hear the water running. Andrew walked into the kitchen and put on a pot of coffee. Once the coffee was done he was going to order up breakfast, Andrew was listening to the radio as he prepared a cup for himself.
"I know most of you out there may not consider Halloween a big holiday, but here in DC we do. The Pokemon League will be having a big Halloween party for people of all ages. Little kids will get a chance to be scared to death by the Haunted House. Before people will get to enjoy all those festivities the League will be throwing a dinner," said the radio host.
Katie walked from the bedroom dressed and walked toward the kitchen.
"Morning Andrew," said Katie seeing Andrew in the kitchen.
Andrew turned around to see Katie picking up the menu for room service.
"Good Morning. How'd you sleep?" asked Andrew.
"I had a good night sleep. That bed is really soft I'm surprised," replied Andrew.
"I take it, it beats a Pokemon Center bed," said Andrew.
"Yeah, it does no wonder you choose to stay in hotels rather then Pokemon Centers," replied Katie.
"So what do you plan to do when I'm gone today?" asked Andrew.
"I'm not sure yet. I think I may walk over and see the Pokemon League since I have never seen it other than when you battle someone," replied Katie.
"You won't be allowed to do to much because most of it is closed for the event. If you go over to the offices I bet the secretary will let you into my office and you can use the computer. Just don't look at anything that you shouldn't," said Andrew.
"What else can I do here?" asked Katie.
"Walk a little further down from the Pokemon League you will find the Smithsonian. There's a lot see there and once I'm done I'll call you and we can meet and walk over to the radio station," replied Andrew.
"That sounds like fun I think I'll do that then," said Katie.
"As long as you are ready after breakfast you and I can leave together and walk up to the Pokemon League," said Andrew.
"I'm ready now, but I want to eat first," replied Katie.
"If you want you can order up room service. Just order me something. I have to go get dress and run down to the lobby and pick up my suit from the dry cleaning," said Andrew.
"I'll order you something," replied Katie.
"Quick question what color is your dress?" asked Andrew.
"White, Why?" asked Katie in response.
"It's just to let me know what color tie I'm going to wear tonight. I wanted to match tie color with you dress color," replied Andrew.
Katie took a seat on the couch and looked over the menu. Andrew walked into the bathroom and got dressed quickly after doing so he left the hotel room and ran down to the lobby and over to the laundry room. He found his suit hanging up with his white dress shirt and pants. He grabbed it and walked back over to the elevator he came down in. He took it back up and walk over to his room. He was gone a whole 30minutes when he walked into the room. He opens the closet and hangs up the suit and then walks back into the front room.
"Did you order everything yet?" asked Andrew.
"Yeah I ordered right when you left. I'm surprised it didn't get here yet," replied Katie.
"Sometimes its slow I hate, but it beats having to make anything," said Andrew.
"I do enjoy it, but there's something about a home-cooked meal that I enjoy," replied Katie.
"I like them too, but my job doesn't allow me much time to do things. I'm busy all hours of the day so its really hard to enjoy a cooked meal," said Andrew.
A few minutes later there was a knock on the door. Andrew got up from the couch and opened it the delivery person rolled the cart in and left a couple plates full of food on the table. Andrew tipped him and he left. Andrew and Katie picked up the plates and ate. Andrew finished up first and got up and walked into the bedroom and opened the closet and grabbed a Pokemon League shirt and tossed it on quickly. He then brushed his teeth and washed his face. After doing so Katie brushed her teeth and washed her face. After doing so they both left the hotel room, walked over to the elevator and took it down to the lobby. They left the lobby and walked outside. It was a crisp cool last day of October. They walked over to the Pokemon League.
(At the Pokemon League)
Andrew hugged and said good bye to Katie before she walked past the League and went over to the Smithsonian. Andrew walked into the Pokemon League and over to the offices. All four of his elite four were there and so was Jen. Jen handed Andrew a clipboard.
"Are you all tried or something?" asked Andrew since the elite four and Jen looked worn out.
"I am. I got here at 6am I haven't got to sleep much yet," replied Marc.
"That's fine Marc what your guys' excuse?" asked Andrew looking over at the others.
"I just haven't had my coffee yet," replied Jen.
"Then go get a cup from the office," said Andrew.
"Yeah, that's not happening I'm not drinking that mud you all call coffee," replied Jen.
"If one of you called I could've stopped on the way in and got some," said Andrew.
"I said we should, but Marc here said no he'll get mad at us for asking," said Jen.
"No I wouldn't all you would've had to do was ask," Andrew with a slight chuckle.
"Andrew have you deiced on who you are battling tonight?" asked Jen.
"Yes, I have and I am going to battle you Marc," replied Andrew looking over at Marc.
"Good, now I get to see just how good you really are," Marc said looking over at Andrew with this determination.
This is just suppose to a fun battle. It's something those here can watch and enjoy," said Andrew.
"It's much more to me than that Andrew. I need to prove to myself that I am still that great battler and battling you and giving you a great match would show just that. I need this more than you think," replied Marc.
"Marc, remember this if you weren't that same great battler would you be the head my elite four. I don't need to answer this because you know the answer. All I'm going to say is I'll give you the match you deserve for fun or not it will be a good match," said Andrew.
"Thank you Andrew that's all I could ask from you. I want your best, I want to see what makes you this great battler that everyone says you are," replied Marc with this look of determination.
"That's all good and true, but we do have stuff to do today so lets get moving," Jen reminded everyone.
"What do we have to do?" asked Andrew in response.
"We have to check that every safety precaution we took inside the haunted house is good. We have to go over the menu and the invite list. We have to go over the arrival procedure and seating. And the locations everyone will be allowed to change into their costumes," replied Jen looking down and reading her clipboard.
"Jen I sent you and email on the seating arrangement so that's covered. Tina you'll handle the safety check of the haunted house. I made sure that the invite list has everyone coming and I believe those I invited are coming we are full which is good. Once we are done here you and I will go over the menu. Marc you'll go over the arrival procedure with security. Morgan and Melissa will meet with my secretary and go over locations with her. We have some places here but the general consensus is most will use the hotel room they are staying for the night," responded Andrew.
Everyone agreed and went their own ways. Andrew and Jen walked out of the League and over to the restaurant next door. The league bought that place out for the evening and have about 12 chefs cooking in it. The head chef brought out samples of the meals that they'll be serving. They kept it rather simple for the kids that are here for the evening. The chef brought out three appetizers two salads, and one pasta dish. Andrew and Jen both liked the dishes and ok'd them for the evening. Up next was the entrée's. It was four dishes two meat and two seafood. Other than the fish which Andrew didn't care for because he doesn't like eating fish that much the dishes were good and set for the evening. Last but not least everyone's favorite desert. It was two simple deserts. One made with pumpkin and other was a chocolate cake. The chocolate cake seemed to be a favorite for Jen, but Andrew enjoyed the pumpkin dessert. The head chef walked out from the kitchen and took as eat at the table with Andrew and Jen.
"Did all the dishes meet your request?" asked the head chef.
"I enjoyed them very much," replied Andrew.
"As did I and I think many will enjoy them tonight," replied Jen.
"Good, very good when you asked for a simple menu I didn't know what to expect. I'm glad you liked them I will have my chefs begin prep for this evening. How many people do expect to be here?" asked the head chef.
"I believe we have 250 guest coming many are younger kids and teens. So they are picky that's why we asked for you keep it simple," replied Jen.
"I need a straight answer. So I know how plates of food we need?" reiterated the chef.
"It's easier to go larger so make 300 dishes that should be more than enough. Any extra we'll give it to a shelter here in DC," replied Andrew.
"I like that idea Andrew," said Jen.
"Ok it's settled then 300 dishes it is I hope we don't disappoint and we'll see all of you tonight," replied the chef taking bow.
"It's worth saying dinner starts at 4pm," said Andrew standing.
"We will be ready by four so don't worry about that. How exactly how transport these dishes over?" asked the chef.
"We have set up buffet line for you and some chefs to dish out. It is your responsibility to transport them over," replied Andrew.
The chef bowed one more time and left back into the kitchen. Andrew and Jen pushed in their chairs and left the restaurant and walked back over to the league. They walked over to the first and second arena which was transformed. There was nicely packed dirt and a lot of tables placed there. The arena next to it there was even more tables set out. There was enough seats for everyone between the two arenas. In the outside training arena was transformed into the haunted house. It was large and suppose to be pee your pants scary. Arena 3 will hold the battle between Marc and Andrew. It's the largest of the three and can hold the number of people that is here. And the last arena had been transformed into a party for the older teens, and adults the arena was divided half for the older kids and the rest for the adults.
Andrew and Jen walked back over to the offices and that is where they meet up with the others. Everything meet the approval of the League so they were ready to open this evening. Everyone handed their clipboards back to Jen.
"Thank you everyone. We are going to make tonight a big success and it is thanks to you all. Make sure all of you will be back here by 3pm which is 3 hours from now. You need to be dressed and ready to meet and greet. Be pleasant and no angering our guests. Anyway Andrew, and Marc you two have a radio interviews to go to. To about tonight and your match. They are in 20 minutes so you might want to get ready to leave. All of you are able to leave I'll see all of you tonight," said Jen.
After Jen finished Andrew took out his phone and sent a message to Katie. She replied shortly after and left the Smithsonian. Andrew meet her right outside the Pokemon League and they walked over to the radio station.
"Is everything ready for tonight?" asked Katie.
"Yeah, it is it took me a little longer than I would have liked, but at least we're ready," replied Andrew.
"Do you know what he is going to ask you during this interview?" asked Katie.
"Not really. Jen mentioned it was going to be used to promote tonight so if I had to guess that's what it'll be about," replied Andrew.
Once they got to the radio station they heard the DJ talking about tonight. He then mentioned he'll be joined by Andrew in a few minutes. After saying that he went to commercial and walked out of the recording room.
(At the Radio Station)
"Good Afternoon Andrew," said the DJ.
"Same to you Theo," replied Andrew.
"If you don't mind me asking who's the beautiful young lady with you today?" asked Theo.
"Well Theo this my date for the evening Katie Hopkins," replied Andrew.
"It's a pleasure to meet you Katie. My name is Theo and I was the first person to have interviewed Andrew here the day he became Champion," introduced Theo.
"It's nice to meet you," replied Katie.
"So is your wife and kids coming tonight to the League Event?" asked Andrew.
"Yeah my kids look forward to it they were really excited when I left today," replied Theo.
"Glad to hear that, They'll have lots of fun, as long they don't get nightmare's easy," joked Andrew.
"I know they'll enjoy it. I have a question for you if it's not to much trouble could you meet my son Adan. He's a big fan of yours and wants to be a Champion just like you?" asked Theo.
"I have a fan," laughed Andrew.
"You know you actually have a lot of them. You'd be surprised how many people like you Andrew," replied Theo.
"It's been hard to find those type of people. I've made mistakes and people have seen that as a sign of weakness from me, but as I have said before we all make mistakes we are only human. And yeah I'll talk to him," said Andrew.
"He'll love that. Anyway you better get ready since we do have an interview to do," Theo reminded Andrew.
"Katie if you would like you can sit in the producers room and listen in or you can sit out and listen too," said Theo.
"I'll sit out here and wait for Andrew," replied Katie.
"Ok, Andrew let's go," said Theo rushing Andrew into the room.
Theo put his head back on and Andrew put the one on that was left out for him.
"Hello my favorite listeners it's a great pleasure to introduce our region's Champion Andrew Hanson," introduced Theo.
"It's really great to be here Theo," stated Andrew.
"Let me start by asking you. What's in store for tonight ?" asked Theo.
"Well Theo the League will open at 3:30pm to let people in to take their designated seats in either arena 1 or arena 2 I will be at the first table in arena 1. I'll be joined by my invited guest and Jen and her family. My elite four will be in arena 2 at the first table there. Once everyone has filled in dinner will be served. About four tables at time will be dismissed to go get their food from the buffet line," explained Andrew.
"What about after dinner?" asked Theo.
"After dinner those there will be allowed to file into our largest arena. And take a seat to wait for the battle I'll be part of," replied Andrew.
"Who are you battling?" asked Theo.
"I'll be battling the head of my elite four Marc Romeo. I've never got to battle him so this should be fun," replied Andrew.
"Can you remind us what pokemon does Marc specialize in?" asked Theo.
"I sure can. Marc much like most of my elite specialize in two types of pokemon. He has fighting types and dragon types both types are very hard to beat so this should be fun," replied Andrew.
"What do think will be his hardest pokemon?" asked Theo.
"It would be his Dragonite. That pokemon packs a very powerful punch and at the moment has be me on my toes sorta speak," replied Andrew.
"So could we see your Flygon against his Dragonite? In a battle of powerful dragons," asked Theo.
"We could see that or even see my Mega Charizard against him, but whatever way I go it sure will be a great battle," replied Andrew.
"Even though I haven't battled in years I'm excited to see this match. Anyway I think I speak for a lot people we can't wait till tonight. And I would thank you Andrew for coming and doing this interview with me," said Theo.
"It's my pleasure I look forward to it again and have a good day," replied Andrew standing and taking the headset off.
"Now after a short break we will be back," said Theo standing up and taking his headset off.
Andrew shakes Theo's hand and walks out of the room and meets up with Katie. They leave the radio station and walk back over to the hotel to eat lunch there.
(Back at the Hotel)
"So what do you want to eat from room service?" asked Andrew looking over.
"I don't know what are you getting?" asked Katie.
"Just something small because we have to be at the pokemon league in two hours," replied Andrew.
"We have to be there at 3pm?" asked Katie.
"Yeah we do it opens at 3:30pm, but I have to go over a couple things with my elite four and security team and then we'll open if it's earlier then that's fine," replied Andrew.
"After lunch I have to shower in order to do my hair for tonight," said Katie.
Andrew walks over to her and hands her the menu she points at a sandwich on the menu and he then orders the meal. It took 30 minutes for the food to get to the room. Andrew got a ham and cheese sandwich and Katie got a Turkey and Avocado. They shared a bag of chips. By time they were done they had about an hour till they had to leave. Katie got up off the couch and walked into the bedroom, she started the water and then got in and took a shower. She was in the bathroom for about 30 minutes, once she rejoined Andrew in the front room she was in her white dress that stopped right above her knees. She had two straps on her shoulders and had he hair curled and she contacts on instead of her glasses.
"You look really beautiful," commented Andrew.
"Thanks I haven't dressed up this much since my graduation from trainer's school," replied Katie.
"Well I better go get ready so we can leave," said Andrew walking into the bathroom and closed the door behind.
Andrew put on his black suit and black pants he had black socks on his shoes and tie were lying on the bed. Katie walked into the room and just saw Andrew coming out of the bathroom.
"You clean up nice and my parents want a picture of us. I just got the message from my mom when I was telling her we were getting ready," said Katie.
"I'll have Jen take a picture when we get to the Pokemon League," replied Andrew.
"How's my parents going to get that picture?" asked Katie.
"I'll have Jen print it tomorrow and when we leave we can take with us," replied Andrew.
Katie picked up her white flats and started to put them on. Andrew walked back into the bathroom so he can tie his tie. While in the middle of putting his tie on Katie walked into the bathroom. She saw Andrew struggling with the tie. He knows how to do it, but he still hates doing it.
"I'll get it for you. Just let me know if I'm choking you," said Katie putting the tie over his head.
"Thanks I hate ties," replied Andrew.
"I understand I've helped people before do this," said Katie.
After she finished putting the tie on she walked behind him and tucked the tie into the collar of his white dress shirt. She looked over his shoulder with a smile on her face. Andrew turned around and hugged her before giving her a kiss and then walked back into the bedroom. He put his shoes and grabbed the bag which had his clothes he'll switch into before the battle. He then grabbed his belt with his pokeballs on it and then his mega ring. Katie sits next to him on the bed.
"Are my pokemon fine here in the room?" asked Katie.
"They should be no one is allowed in the room while I'm not here," replied Andrew.
"Just needed to make sure," said Katie.
Andrew takes his cell phone from his pocket, it was 3:05pm he was a little late and knowing Jen like he does she's going call him. Just as he was about to put his phone away it rang. He brought it back near his face, he was expecting Jen, but it was Daniel. He got up and answered the phone.
"Hello Daniel," said Andrew.
"Hi, Andrew I just needed to ask you a question?" asked Daniel.
"What's up?" Andrew asked in response.
"Is there any particular place we can leave our costumes at the Pokemon League?" asked Daniel.
"No there isn't most people choose to spend the night here in DC or they live close by and can go home. If you guys are here now you can meet me in the Hotel De Santa lobby and I can let you keep your stuff in my hotel room," replied Andrew.
"Thanks for letting us do that," said Daniel.
"It's not a problem at all and remember no pokemon so you'll have to leave them here as well and trust me when I say they'll be fine in here," replied Andrew.
"Ok I'll trust you and all I have with me is my Salamence the rest are back at my house," said Daniel.
"I'm heading down now so I'll see you in a little bit," replied Andrew hanging up.
Andrew and Katie left the room and walked over to the elevator and took it down into the lobby. In the lobby they meet Daniel and Caitlynn.
"Daniel, Caitlynn this is my date and friend Katie," introduced Andrew.
"Yeah we have seen her before in Cincy," replied Daniel.
They all got into the elevator and took it upstairs. Andrew opened the hallway closet and Daniel and Caitlynn both put their Halloween costumes in it. Katie grabbed the bag sitting on the bed and gave it to him. Andrew and Katie both put on coats and they all left.
"So do I have to stand in line to enter the League?" asked Daniel.
"Yeah, you two will both have too, its for security purposes. We don't want any unwelcomed guests," replied Andrew.
"You mean Team Darkness interrupting this," Daniel said looking over at Andrew.
"Your right," Andrew replied simply.
"Do you really thin they would do a thing like this?" Daniel asked.
"I don't think so this a big event for us and with all the security around the League Headquarters an attack would hard to do," replied Andrew reassuring Daniel, Caitlynn, and Katie.
"Well this is where we part Daniel. I have to sneak in the back way and you have to pass through the security checkpoint. I'll see you two inside if not I'll see you at dinner since you two are at my table anyway," said Andrew.
(At the Pokemon League)
Andrew and Katie walked around the back way and were meet by Tony. He was running the checkpoint behind the League. Andrew handed him his Id and he let both Andrew and Katie in. Andrew and Katie walked into the offices and more specifically Andrew's office. Andrew set his bag and belt down in his chair.
"Wow this office is a mess Andrew. How do you do any work?" Katie asked Andrew while looking around the room.
"I manage. A lot of what you see is me looking into things," replied Andrew.
"Do you even use these?" asked Katie pointing to the file cabinets.
"Not really there basically just for show," joked Andrew.
A knock on the door interrupted them. Andrew walked over to the door and opened it and Jen was standing outside. She didn't look to happy at all.
"Hey Jen," said Andrew.
"It's 3:35pm and you haven't checked in with me. We have a lot of people outside waiting so let's go Andrew," said Jen clearly angry with him.
Andrew and Katie left the office and walked with Jen outside to the entrance. Jen's husband and two kids joined her at the entrance.
"Andrew this my family. This is my husband Jeoffery and my two kids Liza, and Harry," introduced Jen.
"Nice to meet both of you and Jen this Katie Hopkins she is my date for the evening," replied Andrew.
Marc and his younger sister walk over to Jen and Andrew. Shortly after them Tina and her boyfriend Henrik walked over and then Morgan and Melissa did. Andrew looked over everyone.
"Good everyone is here let's get this underway then. Jen go ahead and tell them to open the gates," said Andrew.
Jen and her daughter walk over to the gate security and told them to open it. Slowly the security let people in. It was filling fast and the line outside was getting smaller and smaller. After about 20 minutes of letting people in Daniel, Caitlynn, Mika and her date Carson made it through the gate and walked over to Andrew and Katie.
"That line was ridiculous," commented Daniel clearly annoyed or angry with the waiting.
"Let me introduce my date for the evening this is Carson. I've dated him off and on for a little of a year," introduced Mika.
"Well since we introducing people this is Katie Hopkins she my date for the evening," said Andrew introducing Katie.
Everyone gathered outside the offices. Just around the Haunted House that were making all the little kids excited even though they can't see inside. The kids paid more attention to that then Andrew standing a top of the stairs of the office. Jen handed him a mic so he could talk. Katie was standing next to Andrew and had one of her hands in his. He tapped the mic twice and everyone turned their attention to him.
"Good evening everyone. I would like to thank everyone for coming. Dinner will be ready here soon. As you walked in you were handed an envelope. Inside this envelope is a paper on this paper it would say A1 or A2. A1 is arena 1 A2 is arena 2. There are a few of you out there that didn't get an envelope, this means you'll be eating at my table. There will be two or three families at each table so please be nice and pleasant. After you've finished eating you may leave your table and head over to arena 3 and find a seat. The battle will begin after everyone has taken a seat in arena 3. After the battle you all will be dismissed to go change from what your wearing into something more comfortable for this evenings festivities. Now that we are done you may head into the eating arena's," stated Andrew handing the mic back to Jen.
Those listening walked from where they were standing over to their respective arena turned dinning hall. Katie squeezed Andrew's hand to get his attention. Andrew turned around and looked at.
"Andrew, we need our picture taken for my parents," reminded Katie.
"I forgot about that. Thanks for reminding me," said Andrew.
Andrew caught to Jen and her family. Who were making there way to arena where they'll be eating.
"Hey Jen a moment of your time," Andrew stopped Jen to ask her.
"What do you need Andrew?" asked Jen.
"Can you take our picture please?" asked Andrew in response.
"You of all people want your picture taken," Jen said shocked by Andrew's request.
"Yeah, her parents want a picture of us," Andrew replied looking over Katie.
"Ok we can do it now," said Jen grabbing the case the camera was in from her husband.
Jen motioned Andrew and Katie to a spot with good lighting before taking their picture. Andrew put his arm around Katie's shoulders and she put her's around his back. They smile and Jen snapped two pictures. And then put the camera back into the case.
"Thanks Jen. Do mind emailing me that when you get some free time?" asked Andrew.
"I'll do it tonight before I go to bed," replied Jen.
Andrew shook his head yes and then walked over to arena 1. He walked past the room and over to his table. Katie and him took a seat. Next to Katie was Daniel and to his right was Caitlynn. Across from her was Mika, and to her left was Carson. To the left of Carson to Andrew's surprise was Sidney Vaughn and it was her husband Michal, and then it was her daughter Lesly, and then her son James. Everyone was already eating when Andrew and Katie got there. The chef's serving took the liberty to already make a plate for both of them and set it down in front of them.
"I'm glad you took me up on my invite Sidney," said Andrew looking over at Sidney.
"I was overruled at my house. My kids and my husband wanted to come so I had to," replied Sidney.
Daniel looked over at Sidney then over at Andrew and then back at her.
"Are you the former Champion Sidney Vaughn?" asked Daniel.
"Yeah, I am, but that's behind me my top priority now is raising my kids and helping them become trainers," replied Sidney.
"It's a pleasure to meet you I remember watching some of your battles when I was younger," said Daniel.
Sidney let out a small smile and then looked down at her food. She was thinking that people actually remember her from her Champion days. It really brought a smile to her face. She had a picture in her hallway of her elite four and herself her last day as champion. Dinner lasted an hour before everyone started to get up and leave to arena 3. After Andrew was done instead of heading over to the arena he walked over to his office to get changed. Katie went with Daniel, Caitlynn, Mika, Carson, and the Vaughn's over to the arena.
Andrew sat there and thought about the battle as a whole. Marc was getting ready himself in his office two down from Andrew. Andrew was thinking who he should lead with and who will Marc lead with.
"From what I know about Marc if I had to guess I think he'll lead with Hitmontop or Hitmonlee. He switches between these two a lot," Andrew thought to himself.
Andrew clipped his pokeballs to his belt and then put on his mega ring. He looked down at and saw the keystone inside the ring. He then put his jacket on and then started to make his way to the arena. On the walk there he was remembering what Marc said in his interview. That he is more concerned with Andrew's Flygon then either Mega Lucario or Mega Charizard. Marc made his way to the arena and meet with Andrew just outside.
(At Arena 3)
"Here we go Marc," commented Andrew.
"I know this will be a match to talk about I aspect you to give me everything you've got," replied Marc.
"That is a promise I can make, just be ready," stated Andrew walking over to one hallway to walk into the arena.
Marc walked over to the other one. While in the hallway Andrew closed his eyes and took everything in and relaxed his nerves. No matter how many battles he has had in this arena he still gets antsy more than nervous. Andrew opened his eyes and gave out this look of determination while waiting for them to introduce him.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, we are in for such a treat. Today we have in store for all of you a great match between Andrew and Marc. Both these trainers are held in high regard here in DC. I'm your play-by-play caller Eric Haynes and my guest today in the booth is none other than former League Champion Sidney Vaughn," said Eric.
"It's a great pleasure to get to call this match between two great young trainers," stated Sidney.
"Well there we have it let me introduce the first participant from Hadensvile, VA and he is the head of the Elite Four please welcome Marc Romeo and the person he'll be battling is our region's Champion so welcome Andrew Hanson," introduced Eric.
Both trainers came form their respective hallways. They both got loud cheers from the crowd. Marc was out first and was waiting in the middle of the all dirt arena, Andrew got there a few minutes later. They both looked at each other from the look they were giving each other you could tell this means a lot to both of them.
(Pokemon Battle: Andrew vs. Marc)
"It's time for the rules. This will be a six on six battle, both competitors will have the right to sub in and out whenever they need. We will not have any halftime break when either of you are down three pokemon. This battle will not end till one trainer's six pokemon not battle. If you both are ready the ref will toss a coin to see who will out their pokemon," explained Eric.
"Marc you will call the coin the air," said the ref flicking the coin into the air.
"I'll call heads," replied Marc.
"The coin lands on tails. That means Marc you'll call out your pokemon first," stated the ref.
Before they walked back Andrew extended his hand out to shake Marc's hand. Marc shakes Andrew's hand and then walks over to his spot on the arena. Andrew also walks to his spot and both trainers got their pokeball ready.
"Hitmonchan, battle time," said Marc tossing his pokeball.
"Go Torterra," said Andrew.
"There we have it ladies and gentlemen it will be Andrew's defensive grass type versus Marc's powerful puncher," said Eric.
"This battle favors Andrew," commented Sidney.
"Why is that Mrs. Vaughn?' asked Eric.
"Yes Hitmonchan can give a wallop of a punch, but Torterra can and will take it. People may believe Andrew is an all out attacker, but he isn't this one think does extremely well and that is he has a good mix of defensive pokemon if it's this Torterra, his Swampert or of the others he has he knows how to get most out of them and we'll see it here," replied Sidney.
"I guess we will," said Eric.
The ref looked over the two pokemon and sent the flags in his hands into the air. This meant the battle had just begun.
"Hitmonchan let's go right out of the gate and use fire punch,"
"Torterra use protect,"
Hitmonchan looked down at one of his punching gloves on his hands as one turned a fiery red color. He rushed at Torterra who was just standing there. Before Hitmonchan can reach Torterra he brought up a green shield that would protect him.
"Hitmonchan jump back don't give Andrew an opening to attack," ordered Marc.
Hitmonchan jumped back a few feet and out of range of Torterra when he drops his shield.
"Why would Marc do that? Most would keep attacking if a trainer would shield his pokemon," asked Katie looking over Mika.
"Marc knows Andrew quite well and he knows Andrew is known for being to have his pokemon drop it's shield and deliver a powerful attack while the opponents pokemon is still front of his, replied Mika.
"I know I have fell for that against him," commented Daniel.
"Hitmonchan show him bullet punch,"
Both of Hitmonchan's gloves turned sliver and he ran at Torterra who already had the shield dropped.
"Torterra let hit you once then toss him into the air,"
Torterra lowered his face to take a hit on his head. Just as it was Hitmonchan punched him on the top of the head. As the glove was still on his head Torterra motioned his head up with such force that it sent Hitmonchan into the air.
"Torterra use giga drain,"
Multiple vines extended from Torterra's spikes on his back and wrapped around Hitmonchan. These vines started sucking Hitmonchan's energy. After a few seconds Hitmonchan started to slump over as the vines continued doing its job.
"Return Hitmonchan," Marc said recalling Hitmonchan.
The vines that wrapped around Hitmonchan returned to Torterra and he gained some of the energy he got from Hitmonchan.
"Go Noivern," said Marc.
"Marc switches his Hitmonchan for the always fast Noivern. It will be a speed versus defense battle," commented Eric.
"Noivern use flamethrower,"
"Torterra bring up protect,"
Torterra brought up a green shield that would protect him from Noivern's attacks. Noivern sent a stream of flames right from his mouth at the green shield.
"Noivern circle the shield while using flamethrower,"
Noivern flew in circles around Torterra even when the shield was up. This created a circle of flames surrounding Torterra. Andrew didn't like what he sees.
"Return Torterra and go Swampert," said Andrew.
Marc looked shocked to see Swampert. He was surprised that Andrew would bring two defensive pokemon like he did. Some of the people that were in the crowd was just as shocked by the expressions on their faces.
"Really Andrew Swampert and Torterra. I've never seen you do this in a battle," Marc said still shocked by the mud fish pokemon now standing in front of Andrew.
"I'm just full of surprises," replied Andrew.
"And so am I. Noivern show him solarbeam,"
Noivern started to absorb the sunlight in the arena.
"Swampert use ice beam,"
As Noivern took time to collect this energy Swampert sent a rigid blue beam of ice from in front of his mouth at Noivern. The rigid beam of ice nailed Noivern and forced him to stop collecting light and crash to the ground because the tips of his wings were covered in ice.
"Now Swampert use stone edge,"
Small rocks circled Swampert's body. As Noivern struggled to break the ice on his wings, Swampert sent the rock at him. When Noivern realized the rocks were coming it was to late and they hit his body. Noivern shook his head back and forth from left to right as the rocks hit him. Eventually Noivern fell face first down onto the arena. The ref looked over Noivern before calling the match.
"Noivern is unable to battle, Swampert wins," stated the ref waving the green flag in his left hand.
"So after watching one round of the battle Sidney what have you seen?" asked Eric.
"I've seen something I never would and that is Andrew using two pokemon that have a large number of stamina. Knowing this now Marc will have to adjust his battle plan because Andrew is showing us just who he is," replied Sidney,
"I know Marc he will adjust the battle," said Eric.
"Return Noivern and go Breloom," said Marc.
The Mushroom Pokemon stayed in one place and started to move his hands and upper body to get himself ready for the battle. The ref looked at both trainers before he sent the flags into the air signifying the battle to start.
"Breloom use seed bomb,"
"Swampert use protect,"
Breloom stopped moving and sent hard shelled seeds at Swampert. Swampert was quick on the draw and protected himself with a green shield.
"Swampert return and go Lucario," said Andrew.
"Great I knew this was coming, but I didn't expect Andrew to use him against a fighting type," thought Marc.
"Breloom use drain punch,"
"Lucario dodge it,"
One of Breloom's clawed hands turned green as he rushed at Lucario. Lucario jumped back just as Breloom tried to swing the first time. Breloom kept trying, hit after hit just missed because Lucario kept dodging the attacks.
"Breloom use sky uppercut,"
"Lucario dodge it,"
Breloom moved quickly at Lucario trying to strike him under the chin. Lucario once again dodged each attempt.
"What the hell is Andrew doing?" asked Marc to himself.
After thinking about it and looking over at Breloom Marc realized what Andrew was doing. Andrew was tiring out his Breloom, Marc knew Lucario was faster, but he didn't expect Andrew to do this. Andrew is displaying a different style of battling altogether.
"Two of the three fighting types I have are already tired from this battle and my third will fall for the exact same thing because my Conkeldurr is slower then my other two. And I don't want to go out to my to my Altaria or my Dragonite just yet. I'm between a rock and a hard place if I keep up what I'm doing now," thought Marc.
"Well Sidney what do you think is going through Marc's mind?" asked Eric.
"It's between what am I going to do and how do I get battle back in my favor. Andrew has not used an attack yet with Lucario. Marc will have to be prepared for that attack when it comes. And if I'm Marc I'm concerned if Andrew might mega evolve his Lucario at any time," replied Sidney.
"Breloom use seed bomb,"
"Lucario dodge it again,"
Breloom shot off hard-shelled seed right at Lucario. Lucario avoided them with ease.
"Lucario it's out turn now. Lucario use aura sphere,"
Lucario extended his left hand and made a ball of his aura in the palm of his paw. Once it was ready he sent it at the tried Breloom. Breloom had no way to dodge it or even avoid it and took the sphere right to the gut and it sent him flying into the wall behind Marc. Just as quick as he was sent into that wall Breloom jumped off the wall.
"Lucario finish this use flash cannon,"
Lucario brought both his hands together and sent a beam of sliver from it. The beam nailed Breloom in the same spot that the aura sphere did. Breloom was sent flying back into the same wall. This time he didn't get off the wall. The ref looked over before the match.
"Breloom is unable to battle, Lucario wins," stated the ref raising the green flag again.
Marc ran his hand through his short brown hair before recalling his fallen Breloom. He was trying to think of a way to get himself back into this match. Marc knew what he had to do, but didn't want to use Dragonite yet, but the situation did in fact call for him todo so.
"Go Dragonite," said Marc.
"Return Lucario and go Swampert," said Andrew.
The ref brought up both flags and the match started.
"Dragonite use dragon pulse,"
"Swampert protect,"
Dragonite sent a dark blue beam down to the ground from the air at Swampert. Swampert was quick to act and brought up a shield that would protect him from the attack.
"Swampert use ice beam,"
"Dragonite flamethrower,"
Swampert sent a rigid beam of ice at Dragonite who countered by sending a stream of fire. The fire melted the ice and then went at Swampert who brought up his hands to protect his face from the fire. The fire did little to no damage to Swampert. The one thing it did do was give Marc an opening to land one of his more powerful attacks.
"Dragonite use draco meteor,"
Dragonite sent a single meteor into the air and that meteor exploded into a dozen of smaller ones. This dozen crashed to earth. Most of them hit around Swampert, but those meteors that did hit him landed on his back. After taking three to the back Swampert was finally down.
"Swampert is unable to battle, Dragonite wins." said the ref raising the red flag in his right hand.
Marc let out a sigh of relief. It would be embarrassing on his part if Andrew was able to sweep him. In practice battles he has seen Andrew sweep Morgan and Tina from time to time.
"Return Swampert, and go Flygon," said Andrew.
"It looks like it'll be a battle of dragons my best versus yours. I know your Flygon better than anyone else being a dragon type expert and I know how to beat him," said Marc with confidence in his voice.
"We'll see about that won't we," replied Andrew.
"Dragonite use ice punch,"
"Flygon just wait for the right moment and use dragon pulse,"
Flygon was close to the ground as Dragonite was flying down at him one of his paws was surrounded by this icy mist. Just as Dragonite was about to punch Flygon, he slowed down and Dragonite punched the ground right in front of Flygon. Flygon flew above Dragonite and sent a dark blue beam of energy at Dragonite.
"Dragonite return," Marc said quickly recalling his dragon before take that hit.
Flygon's attack hit the ground causing some damage to the arena.
"Go Conkeldurr," said Marc.
"Flygon use flamethrower,"
"Conkeldurr bring up your pillars to block the attack,"
Flygon sent a stream of fire down at Conkeldurr. Conkeldurr brought up his pillars above his had and that blocked the fire attack to getting to his body. After the fire attack stopped Conkeldurr brought down the pillars back to earth.
"Return Flygon and go Torterra," said Andrew.
"If you haven't seen already Conkeldurr's biggest tool in his arsenal are those pillars he carries around with him. He can use them to block attacks and dish out attacks. It seems Andrew isn't to fazed by them. Even the best trainer at times can't beat Conkeldurr as long as he has those pillars. It will interesting to see if Andrew can counter those pillars," said Eric.
"It's not about countering Conkeldurr with the pillars it's about separating the two and with Torterra here that will be possible," said Andrew to himself after hearing what Eric said.
"Conkeldurr use fire punch,"
"Protect, Torterra,"
Conkeldurr dropped the pillars and moved at Torterra with fire around one of his large hands. Torterra brought a green shield that protected him from the attack. Marc noticed that Andrew had a smile on his it was that smile like he had planned this. Marc looked down in front of him and saw the pillars, he then realized that Andrew saw the same thing.
"Torterra drop the shield and use giga drain,"
"Conkeldurr move quickly back to your pillars,"
Conkeldurr looked over at the pillars and ran back to them. As he was running Torterra dropped the shield and energy draining vines at Conkeldurr, it was to late for Conkeldurr as those vines wrapped around him before he could get to the pillars. Minute by minute Conkeldurr's energy was being drained, he stood strong but he couldn't free himself he tried multiple times to lift Torterra off the ground by the vines but he was just to tried to do so.
"Marc has to get Conkeldurr out of there otherwise he won't last much longer," commented Mika.
Torterra retracted the vines and gained some of the energy drained by those vines. Conkeldurr was left on his feet, arms slouched same with his head. Conkeldurr tried to take a step forward, but fell face first to the ground.
"Conkeldurr is unable to battle, Torterra wins," said the ref raising the green flag.
"So Daniel learning things about Andrew you haven't seen from him?" asked Mika.
"Yeah, I haven't seen him use two powerful defense pokemon like he has. I've battled him with Swampert, but never Torterra. Part of me really wants to battle Torterra and seen that pokemon first hand," replied Daniel.
"The problem with that Daniel is we have only seen two of his moves protect and giga drain," said Mika turning her attention back to the battle.
"Return Conkeldurr and go Altaria," said Marc.
Andrew looked down at his mega ring on his left hand and thought about it for a few moments. He knew he could win the remainder of the battle by going out to Charizard and mega evolving him.
"Return Torterra, and go Charizard," said Andrew.
Marc looked at Charizard as he flew around. Marc wasn't to nervous to see him, but something inside him wasn't looking forward to face Andrew's Charizard. Marc has faced some of the toughest opponents before, but Andrew seems to the hardest one he has faced yet.
"Marc I hope your ready for this. Let show you this. Charizard Mega Evolution," shouted Andrew pressing his mega ring.
Charizard was surrounded by flames. Inside these flames Charizard changed dramatically. He was no longer orange. He was black and his under belly was blue just like his rigid underwings. The flame at the end of Charizard's tail was blue as well. The crowd watching was in awe of it. Marc has seen it before but he too was in awe of seeing this close.
"Altaria use dragon pulse,"
"Charizard fly right through it and use dragon rush,"
Altaria sent a pulsing blue beam and Charizard. Charizard flew right at it he was first an orange color then turned dark blue like the flame on his tail. He flew right through the dragon pulse taking no damage from it. He then delivered that powerful attack and nailed Altaria right in the gut area. Altaria fell right to the ground. Altaria shock it off and flew back into the air.
"Charizard use flamethrower,"
"Altaria use dragonbreath,"
Charizard sent a stream of blue flames right at Altaria. Altaria sent a green attack at the blue flames, early on the flames of the two attacks were even, but eventually Altaria's attack was pushed back in her face and she was hit with the blue flames and she once again fell to the arena.
"Altaria is unable to battle, Charizard wins," said the ref raising the green flag again.
Marc was emotionally drained by this battle. His eyes said all he really wanted to do better than to take out only one on of Andrew's pokemon. He understood what mega evolution was and he thought he was ready to battle against it. He now realizes that he should have prepared his pokemon more, he battled Juan while in Hawaii and beat him, but Andrew is a different trainer altogether.
"Return Altaria and go Hitmonchan," said Marc.
The punching pokemon stood in front of Marc. You could tell he was still exhausted from his earlier fight with Torterra. He won't last long against Andrew's Charizard as long as he sticks with him.
"Charizard you ready to go again?" asked Andrew looking up at Charizard.
Charizard let out a stream of blue flames into the air signifying that he was more than ready to fight again. Marc looked around the arena and saw an opportunity to attack because sky uppercut can get a pokemon in the air.
"Hitmonchan use sky uppercut,"
"Charizard use flamethrower,"
Hitmonchan took a running start to be able to jump into the air and try to nail Charizard. Charizard sent a stream of blue flames at the air-borne Hitmonchan. The stream of flames beat him back down and he crashed into the ground laying flat out.
"Hitmonchan is unable to battle, Charizard wins," said the ref raising the green flag again.
"Well Marc it comes down to one pokemon," stated Andrew.
"I know it does, but last pokemon is by far my best," replied Marc.
"Then let's see him take on my best in the form of Charizard," Andrew shot back at Marc.
"Return Hitmonchan, and go Dragonite," said Marc.
"It all comes down to this for Marc if he wants to knock down one of Andrew's pokemon it will have to be his Charizard. That is nearly an impossible task to do the cards are truly stacked against Marc," stated Eric.
"Andrew is such a hard trainer to prepare for I've battled him twice and in the second encounter he just out battled me," said Sidney.
"That's a hard task to do. You're one of the best this region has seen and you're saying Andrew out-battled you," reiterated Eric.
"I hate to say it, but at this time and place Andrew is by far a better trainer than I was at this time. The only problem I can see is Andrew has made mistakes jeopardizing this region, but that is because he is young and he tries his best to make everything good," stated Sidney.
"Dragonite use dragon pulse,"
"Charizard use flamethrower,"
Dragonite sent a pulse of dark blue energy in the direction of Charizard. Charizard countered with a stream of blue flames. The two attacks meet head on and they were pretty even. After staying locked even Charizard's flamethrower eventually started to push Dragonite's attack back right into his face and eventually the stream of flames nailed Dragonite. Dragonite stayed upright and still stood strong.
"Dragonite use draco meteor,"
"Charizard use dragon rush,"
Charizard flew high into the air and then dived back down at Dragonite. While Charizard was in the sky Dragonite sent a single meteor into the sky and that exploded into smaller ones. Charizard flew through the field as the meteors fell to the ground. Most of the meteors missed Charizard or he just flew through them. Charizard then nailed Dragonite and sent him into the ground.
This time around Dragonite tried to shake the attack, but it was just too much and Dragonite fell face down in the ground.
"Dragonite is unable to battle, Charizard wins. Andrew is the winner," said the ref waving the green flag.
Charizard landed in front of Andrew, Andrew walked out into the arena and hugged Charizard. No matter how many battles Charizard does and wins Andrew is still happy for what he does and shows that. Marc walks over to his Dragonite and talks to him before returning him, he then walks over to Andrew. They shake hands again and Marc walks off back into the hallway. Andrew returns Charizard and then grabs a mic from one of the security guard's walking out with it.
(After the Match)
"Now that this match is over you are all dismissed to leave and go get changed into a costume. you'll be back here in about an hour or so. Most of you kids will enjoy the Haunted House we have set up. The older kids and adults are welcome to attend two separate parties. So please enjoy the rest of the evening and if I don't get see most of you have a good evening," said Andrew before handing the mic back to the security guard and jogged off the arena.
Before getting to the hallway Andrew took off his hat and walked over and gave it to Theo who was sitting with his family. Andrew told Theo to give it to his son and he did. His son jumped up and down in his seat. Andrew walked back into the hallway and then over to his office. Katie, Daniel, and Caitlynn walked over and waited for him near his office. He was out in five minutes after walking in. They walked back over to the hotel and got changed. At the hotel Katie finally showed Andrew his costume it was Mario the Nintendo character and Katie's costume was Princess Peach. Daniel was dressed as Vegeta from Dragonball Z. He had the yellow haired wig that was spiked up like he was in full Saiyan and Caitlynn was in a Bulma costume. She had a blue wig on. Andrew had the whole set of Mario gear the overalls, the red hat and a black wig and fake mustache on. Katie and a lighter blonde hair wig on and a pink girly dress on.
After getting dressed up they all left and back over to the Pokemon League. Andrew snuck Daniel and Caitlynn in from the back which he entered in from multiple times. Mika and her date meet up with them about 30 minutes after they got there. She was dressed up as a Walking Dead Character her date was as well.
(2 hours into the Event)
Andrew, Katie, Daniel, and Caitlynn enjoyed the party that was going on. Mika didn't stay long she left an hour after the party started. They were all seated at a table in the back.
"So Caitlynn I heard you won the Contest in Cincy," commented Andrew.
"It was a tough win, but well deserved," replied Caitlynn.
"Andrew, can we talk about KC for a few minutes?" asked Daniel.
"Yeah, we should let's step outside," replied Andrew.
Andrew and Daniel walked out of the party and took a seat on a bench.
"So what do you want to talk about?" asked Andrew.
"How do we want to handle Mega Steelix?" asked Daniel
"It won't be easy because he will be angry at them and more than likely lash out at anything they do or we do. We need to be extremely careful because we might have control of our mega evolutions and so does that Steelix, but when angered control goes out the window. Stopping Team Darkness there would be good but it isn't the main concern," replied Andrew.
"How do we prepare for something like?" asked Daniel.
"Just train your pokemon normally that's all we can do. We'll talk more when I get to KC later in the week. There is one favor you can do for me," replied Andrew.
"What would that be?" asked Daniel.
"It's actually two things, but that doesn't matter. Tomorrow I'm calling KC's town hall and getting the map for that cave, I'd like you to pick it up for me I'll make sure they know that it will be you picking it up. Also I'm not sure when she'll ask if it'll be when I'm there or not, but Katie needs to talk to you about her Absol," replied Andrew.
"Ok I'll do that," said Daniel.
"Thanks let's head back inside," said Andrew.
They both walked back inside and over to the table where Caitlynn and Katie were laughing. They took a seat next to them and sat there. Katie had some candy in her hands and she gave Andrew and Daniel one piece. Andrew looked at his cell phone and it said 10:45pm. Many of the kids that were going through the haunted house have started to leave because they were tried. Andrew sent a message that we can end it. She tells that fine. Andrew gets up were the music was playing and grabbed a mic.
"Ok if you all would like to start making your way to the exits that would be much appreciated because this night is just about over. I know I said it before, but I would like to thank all of you for this is a big deal for all of us here in DC because it allows us to open our doors to most of you. I can't wait to see all of you again have a good night and Happy Halloween," said Andrew.
Everyone started exiting the building and then leaving the Pokemon League. Andrew and Katie were among the last to leave and walk back to the hotel room. Daniel and Caitlynn grabbed their stuff that they kept in Andrew's hotel room and then left as well back to Daniel's home to catch the end of the bonfire his family does.
"Thank you for invinting us Andrew," said Daniel outside the hotel getting Salamence ready.
"It's not a problem I'll see you guys in KC. Get home safely and have a good night," replied Andrew walking back into the hotel lobby.
Daniel and Caitlynn got onto Salamence and took off back home. Andrew walked through the lobby back into the lobby and back to his room. Where Katie was already out of her princess Peach costume and in her pj's. Andrew got into his and took a seat on the couch next to Katie.
(In the Hotel Room)
"Did you have fun tonight?" asked Andrew.
"Yeah I did thanks for invinting me," replied Katie.
They heard a beeping noise coming from Andrew's phone. It was from Jen she sent Andrew the picture they took early in the night and all she wanted to was let him now. Andrew grabbed his laptop and checked his email's and he saw Jen's email with a picture attached. Andrew opened the picture and showed Katie.
"My parents will like that picture," said Katie looking at.
"That's good to hear. I'll print it out tomorrow at the Pokemon League before I fly you back to Boston," said Andrew shutting down his laptop.
"I'll see you tomorrow morning. I'm going to get some sleep goodnight Andrew," said Katie standing up and walking into her room.
Andrew moved from the couch to his bed and laid down and drifted off to sleep. In the other room Katie did as well.
It was around 1am when the clouds above DC opened and it started to rain. two hours later it came down harder and you could hear thunder and lighting. One of the booms from the thunder woke Katie up and looking around the room. Katie didn't like thunder or lighting. It kept at it and Katie didn't get back to sleep, she got up and walked into the front room and woke up Andrew. Andrew sat and looked up at Katie with this petrified look on her face.
"What's up Katie?" asked Andrew.
"I don't like thunder and lighting. It scares me," replied Katie.
"It's ok come sit down next to me. It'll be over soon," said Andrew reassuring Katie.
Katie took a seat next to Andrew. She felt better near Andrew and stayed there. She eventually feel asleep next to him. She wrapped her arm around his and fell asleep. Andrew couldn't do anything or move so all he did was lay back down and fell sleep as well. The thunder and lighting kept at it all night and into the morning.
(Monday Morning)
Katie was up first she was laying down and looked next to her. She saw Andrew still asleep she tried her best not to wake him, but she ended up waking him. Andrew sat up and looked at her.
"Sorry for waking you up Andrew," apologized Katie.
"It was fine Katie I understand why. You don't like thunder and lighting. It's fine, but it still sounds like it coming down pretty good out there," said Andrew standing up walking over to a window.
Andrew looked out the window and saw it was down pouring outside. The streets were drenched by the water and some were even flooded. Katie turned on the TV more specifically the news to see the weather. Andrew walked back over and took a seat to watch the news with her.
"This is the news and 9am and we begin with the weather so we go to meteorologist Tamera Clivefords," said the news anchor.
"If you are in DC at the moment it's coming down pretty good and there will be more thunder and lighting through out the day. We have a flash flood warning for most of DC and surrounding areas. If you are in DC right I suggest you stay in doors and not be outside," said Tamera.
They showed and active radar and it showed DC in all green. It was like that for the next 14 hours. There was a short break about 7pm, but then more came in.
"Please be careful with all this thunder and lighting there is a chance you can lose power so follow the steps on the screen to avoid any harm to yourself or those living with you," said the news anchor before Katie shut the TV off.
"How am I suppose to get home today now with the rain coming down like it is I know you don't fly in it?" asked Katie.
"You're more than welcome to stay another day here and I'll fly you home tomorrow," replied Andrew.
"Are you sure Andrew?" asked Katie.
"Yeah, its more than fine. I'm not going to even run to my office in this weather so were stuck inside all day," replied Andrew.
"Ok I'll call my dad right now," said Katie grabbing her phone from her bag.
She walked outside and called her dad. The phone rang twice and then her dad answered.
"Hey princess. What do you need?" asked Micheal.
"Well dad were stuck in DC today because of the rain. Andrew doesn't fly his Flygon in the rain especially when it's thunder and lighting. So Andrew said we'll just stay here today and he'll fly me home tomorrow," replied Katie.
"That's fine your mom was watching the news and we saw that DC was getting hammered, we thought to call you but didn't know if you we sleeping or not so your mom said she would call at noon, but you beat her to it and it's fine that you stay there, Just stay safe and keep dry," said Micheal.
"Ok we're not leaving the hotel today," replied Katie.
"The tickets to KC we bought don't leave until the 3rd anyway so your fine just take it easy and I have to go to work now. I'll talk to you later see you tomorrow. Bye," said Micheal hanging up.
Katie puts her phone bag into her pocket and walks back into the hotel room. Andrew was already dressed and just got off the phone with Jen. She was telling him not to come in today because of the rain.
While Katie was getting dressed Andrew decided to call KC's Town Hall. The phone rang twice before he got an answer it was the mayor's secretary.
"Good Morning how can I help you?" asked the secretary.
"Hello this is Andrew Hanson and I'm calling to ask about getting a map for the cave just outside your city," replied Andrew.
"Is there any particular reason why you need that map Mr. Hanson?" asked the secretary.
"Yes I have creditable source saying that Team Darkness are in that cave. I need to have that to help me plan a way to stop them," replied Andrew.
"Ok Mr. Hanson we will make you a copy of that map and you can pick it up sometime today," said the secretary.
"I'll be having someone else pick up for me. His name is Daniel and he'll be in, in the next couple days," replied Andrew.
"We'll expect him then. Have a good day Mr. Hanson," said the secretary hanging up.
Katie got changed and joined Andrew in the front room. Andrew ordered a movie and both of them watched that. The remainder of the day was unproductive because they couldn't do much because of the rain. They went to bed about 9pm. Katie started in her room and ended up next to Andrew in the middle of the night because thunder again.
(Tuesday)
It was about 9:30am and both Andrew and Katie were already up and dressed it was sunny with some clouds in the air, but no rain in sight. While Katie was packing Andrew ran over to the Pokemon League and got the picture printed out for Katie's parents. When he got back Katie was already packed and was ready to leave. They walked out of the hotel and Andrew called out Flygon. Andrew helped Katie onto him and then climbed on himself. After both of them climbed on Flygon took off in the direction of Boston. They didn't stop this time and got back to Boston and 10:30am. Andrew and Katie both climbed off. Andrew hugged her good bye before climbing back on Flygon and heading back to DC. Katie spent the rest of the day on Tuesday training and getting her pokemon ready next gym battle.
Andrew on the other hand had work to get done. He landed back in front of the Pokemon League and walked into his office. He called all of his elite four in to discuss what he wants each of them to do. Tina and Melissa already know what they are doing. Andrew explained that Morgan will be joining him in KC. Marc was tasked to head back to Hawaii and meet up with Juan again and continue working with him. Marc left later that day on a plane bound to San Francisco. Morgan went back to his room a backed up because they leave on Thursday.
(Wednesday in Boston)
It was around 6am when Micheal took Zac, Brady, Emma, and Katie to the airport to catch the plane at 8am. It would be a three and an half hour flight. So they would expect to be in KC at 10:30am. Once on the plane all three of them fell asleep for those three hours.
I know I did four days or at least mainly 3 because Wednesday will be picked up in the next chapter. This chapter mainly focused on the Halloween Event so enjoy that. Monday was ruined by the rain and Tuesday was just a short day of things had to get done. Starting next chapter things are starting to pick up. With Team Darkness finally returning.
