(Monday Morning)
The three travelers woke up to rain hitting the roof of the Pokemon Center. Katie looked at where Andrew slept the night before and he was already gone he left before the rain started to come. He may have left the Pokemon Center before the rain, but he was still in town, his flight delayed. He sat in the airport terminal waiting for his flight. Katie, Brady, and Emma all got dressed and walked down the stairs to go eat breakfast which the nurse had just made. The three of them took a seat at the table and ate the warm oatmeal. This quiet moment was interrupted by a few young trainers running worried about their pokemon. The three of them got up from the table and walked over to them.
"What happened to your pokemon?" Katie asked the taller of the few that ran.
"We were just training our pokemon...the...then this person attacked our pokemon," he replied.
"Do you know who attacked you?" Katie asked.
"W...We did...didn't...se...see him," he replied.
"Where were you attacked?" Katie asked.
"Ju...Just outside th...the city limits," he replied.
The Nurse walks out of the room and walks over to the trainers.
"All of your pokemon will make a full recovery. I also notified the police about these attacks and they are handling it," said the nurse.
"Katie, this isn't our problem we should just leave it alone," said Emma looking over at Katie.
"No, Em we can't just sit here and let someone do this to pokemon they could been hurt a lot worse," replied Katie.
"What if we find Dan and see if he would come with us and check it out," said Emma.
"That could take to much time, we need to go now," replied Katie.
"Em, how about this, Katie and I will head there you go and find Dan if he's not to busy tell him to come out and help us," Brady said compromising with both Hopkin's sisters.
"Ok, you two please be careful and don't do anything reckless till I get some help," said Emma.
Katie and Brady leave the pokemon center frist and walk towards the outskirts of town. Emma leaves shortly after them she went over to the Contest Hall and went looking for Daniel. As Emma looked for him there Katie and Brady arrived at the place this trainer attacks random trainers. They both notice a masked man standing in a clearing. They both walk over to this clearing to confront the trainer.
(At the Clearing)
"Well two fresh new victims," laughed the masked trainer.
"Who are you?" asked Katie in response.
"You would like to know wouldn't you," replied the masked trainer.
"Just answer the question," said Brady.
"How about one of you battle me then I'll tell you as long as you can beat me," replied the masked trainer.
Before agreeing to anything. Katie's phone rang it was Andrew. She showed Brady it he shook his head yes and stepped forward. Katie ran back some to answer the phone.
"Hey Katie," said Andrew.
"Hi," replied Katie.
"You sound a little stressed," said Andrew.
"Brady and I decided to confront this trainer attacking random trainer," replied Katie.
"Where are you two?" asked Andrew.
"We are at the city limits. In a small clearing," replied Katie.
"Don't battle this person till I get there," said Andrew.
"Aren't you on a plane back to London right now?" asked Katie.
"No, I have been stuck at the airport my plane has been delayed consistently, they eventually just cancelled the flight today," replied Andrew.
"Ok, Brady has just started a battle with the guy," said Katie.
"I'm flying from the airport now I'll be there soon," said Andrew hanging up.
(Brady vs. Masked Guy)
"Go Empoleon," said Brady.
The masked man let out a sly smile then called out his pokemon.
"Go Pangoro," said the masked man.
"Empoleon use hydro pump,"
"Pangoro use thunderpunch to hit the water,"
Pangoro's left fist crackled with thunder and then he moved it to hit the water rushing at him. The water hit the punch and instantly lite up by the electricity emitting from the punch. This electricity followed the water back to Empoleon.
"Empoleon stop the attack."
Empoleon tried to stop his attack but was hit with the electricity.
"This is too easy. Maybe the girl should have battled me. Ha Ha Ha," laughed the masked man.
"Empoleon use drill peck,"
"Pangoro use drain punch,"
Empoleon was still feeling the effects of the electricity and couldn't move. Pangoro did though and ran at Empoleon. Once in front of him Pangoro's right fist nailed Empoleon in the gut. After getting hit Pangoro's fist was surrounded by green energy he drained from Empoleon, his body absorbed that energy. Empoleon still slouched over.
"Let's do it again Pangoro,"
After that was said. Everyone heard the same thing.
"Flygon flamethrower,"
A stream of orange flames came out of no where and forced Pangoro to back up. That same Flygon landed in front of Brady.
(Back in the City as the Battle Happened)
Emma made her way to the contest to see Daniel in his seat waiting for his friend to go. Emma walke dover to him and took a seat.
"Hey Emma," said Dan.
"Dan we need your help. Brady and Katie went looking for this guy that was attacking other trainers, to confront him. They maybe in over their head, we need your help to confront this guy," said Emma.
"Damn, Caitlynn is up next. I need to help though, so show the way," replied Dan.
Dan and Emma left the stands and to the main hall. On their way out they ran into Caitlynn sitting down waiting for her turn.
"Dan were you two going?" asked Caitlynn.
"We have to go and help Katie and Brady," replied Dan.
"Let me get my stuff I'm coming you then," said Caitlynn.
"What about your contest?" asked Dan.
"There will be more. I only need one more ribbon to gain entrance. Helping them is more important," replied Caitlynn.
Caitlynn ran back to her locker she kept everything and grabbed her other pokeballs. Her two electric pokemon hopped from Daniel's shoulders to hers and the three of them ran out and in the direction Emma pointed them too.
(Back in the Clearing)
"I hate intrusions in my battles," shouted the masked man.
"Well, my is justified then," replied Andrew.
"Who do you think you are?" asked the masked man.
"I'm Andrew Hanson," replied Andrew.
"The Champion?!" said the masked man.
"The one and only. You owe me and explanation of who you are?" demanded Andrew.
"You would like to know wouldn't you," replied the masked man.
Andrew looked over at Brady.
"Brady, return Empoleon. I'll finish this fight if you don't mind," said Andrew.
"Ok, Andrew its all yours," said Brady returning Empoleon.
"Well masked man, we can do this one of two ways then. You can share your name with me, or I can force you too. The choice is yours," said Andrew.
"Then let's battle then," said the masked man.
"I was hoping you'd go that way," replied Andrew returning Flygon.
"I see your not using Flygon. I'm going to keep using Pangoro here though," said the masked man.
"Go, Lucario," said Andrew.
"Interesting, choice Andrew. I hope your ready to lose that precious Lucario," stated the masked man.
"Your idle threats don't scare me. So how about you just shut up and we get this underway. So I can show you exactly who you are dealing with," replied Andrew.
"Fine with me," said the masked man.
(Masked Man vs. Andrew)
"Allow me to show you this first. Lucario, Mega Evolution," said Andrew pressing the center of his mega ring.
The device on Lucario's right paw begun to glow and then he was encased in his own aura. Before all the aura disappears Lucario lets out a loud growl. Lucario looked considerably different. Lucario's cream colored fur has become longer. He has also developed extra spikes on his paws. Lucario's appendages grew longer and two had red on their tips. He also had spikes on his shoulders. His aura heignthing increased. He know had black lines on his blue fur. He looked fierce and ready to go.
"That will make no difference to my Pangoro," said the masked man.
"And yet I can see your trembling over there," replied Andrew.
The masked man grabbed his masked and tossed it on the ground. Andrew looked at his face and then it hit him who this was. It was Morgan's younger brother Timothy. Something wasn't right though with him.
"Tim what happened to you?" asked Andrew.
"I found something I never had. I found a way to become better then my brother, better than you'll ever be. Goodsworth promised me something," replied Tim.
"He brainwashed you. You are petty criminal Tim you should be ashamed of yourself," said Andrew.
"A petty criminal would have nothing, that I possess. Pangoro show him hammer him," shot back Tim.
"Fine, I'll show you exactly what you want then. Lucario dodge it,"
Once Pangoro was in front of Lucario he tried to swing a fist at him. Lucario jumped back to dodge the first hit. Pangoro tried again and the same result happened, but this time Lucario jumped over him.
"My turn, Lucario show him aura sphere,"
As this is happening Emma, Daniel and Caitlynn made their way into the clearing.
Lucario made two small aura balls into each paw. He then brought both paws together and then sent this blast of aura at Pangoro. Pangoro turned around just to see the attack coming at him. The blast sent Pangoro flying into a tree. He broke the first and second tree, he was finally stopped by the third.
Andrew looked over at Tim. He was seething with anger. Tim looked over at his pokemon leaning up against a tree breathing heavily he then looked over at Andrew.
"How is that possible? Goodsworth promised me that nothing could beat Pangoro?" asked Tim out loud.
"He lied to you. It was a façade, he wanted you and others to buy into. I know you know what it takes to be a great trainer Tim, you don't need Goodsworth to be one. Snap out of it Tim. Think about what your brother, your father, your mother and sister think of this," replied Andrew.
"They don't care about me. If they did they wouldn't have stopped searching," said Tim.
"Tim, they never did give up searching for you they want you back in their lives. Just like Katie and Emma want their sister back in their life," replied Andrew.
Tim falls to his knees and then falls face first into the dirt, fainting. Andrew looked over at the Pangoro and he too had fainted.
(In the Clearing after the Battle)
Andrew returned Lucario and then walked over to Pangoro, Pangoro was just coming too when Andrew walked over. He didn't have an angry look in his eyes anymore. He looked up at Andrew and slowly got back to his feet.
"Pan, Pangoro," Pangoro said looking at Andrew.
"I'm not going to hurt you, ok" replied Andrew.
Pangoro lowered his guard and then looked over at the fainted trainer. Pangoro slowly walked over to him and looked down at him. Andrew turned his attention back to those watching.
"One of you call for an ambulance please?" asked Andrew.
Brady took out his cell phone and called the ambulance arrived about 4 minutes later. Tim was awake and alert when they showed up. They helped him into the back of the ambulance and took off back into the city to take him to the hospital. The group walked back to the city and over to the hospital. Andrew called Morgan, and Morgan called his father.
(At the Hospital a few hours after the Battle)
Andrew, Katie, Daniel and Emma were all sitting in the waiting room when Morgan finally showed up. He walked over to Andrew.
"What happened?" asked Morgan.
"Let me start by saying this. Morgan your brother attacked trainers while they were training in the forest. This young lady along with Brady ran over to confront him. Brady started a battle with. Katie's sister got Daniel here and he too showed up a little after Katie called me and I showed up. I then battled him and after I defeated his pokemon he was saying somethings and then passed out," replied Andrew.
"What did he say?' asked Morgan.
A nurse interrupted Andrew before he could say anything. She let everyone outside know that Tim was awake and alert. Morgan walked in to the room he was followed by Andrew. Tim looked over at Morgan and Andrew as they walked in. Morgan took a seat next to him Andrew stood up by the door. Tim looked over at Morgan with a confused look on his face.
"Where am I bro?" asked Tim.
"You don't remember what happened Tim," replied Morgan.
"The last thing I remember was talking to a strange man after I talked to dad about my recent victory at the gym," said Tim.
"Tim you've been missing for over a year. All that was left when we arrived to the place you were at was your pokeballs," replied Morgan.
"That can't be right Morgan and who is he?" asked Tim pointing to Andrew.
"Well Tim this is Andrew Hanson the Pokemon League Champion," replied Morgan.
"That can't be right Morgan I thought Alex was the Champion," said Tim.
"No, Andrew here beat him last March," replied Morgan.
"Ok, I think I understand that now, but that doesn't explain where I am," said Tim.
"Tim, You are at a hospital, something happened to you and you attacked random trainers," said Andrew walking over.
"That cant be right Andrew. I don't do that. I like other trainers I use to sit down with a lot of them and talked about training methods," said Tim.
"I wish I was lying about what I just said but I'm not it really happened. You were a completely different person then you are now," replied Andrew.
"I didn't hurt anyone did I?' asked Tim.
"Everyone you attacked will be just fine, but I'm worried about you. So when your other family get here I think we all need to talk. So I'll let you and Morgan talk some more and I'll step outside and wait," replied Andrew.
Andrew walked back to the waiting room he took a seat next to Katie. Caitlynn was on her phone checking who won the Contest today.
"So Cat who won?" asked Daniel.
"Ally won today she barely edged out Jenna in the finale," replied Cat with disappointment in her voice.
"I'm sorry you had to forfeit your spot to run out after Tim like that," said Andrew.
"Its fine, I wasn't going to let Daniel here go out their by himself what if he got hurt, he needs me there. There will be other Contests so I'm not to concerned about it. It would have been nice to take part in but oh well," replied Cat.
"How's Tim?" asked Daniel.
"He doesn't remember what happened to him at all," replied Andrew.
"Do you think he knows where Emily is?" asked Katie.
"I'm going to ask him when I get a chance, but don't expect to much from it," replied Andrew.
"I know, but anything will give my parents a sigh of relief," said Katie.
"With any luck he will at least be able to point me in direction I can work with when I finally get back from London," said Andrew.
After sitting in the waiting room for a few minutes Morgan walked out since Tim was sleeping. Andrew and Morgan walked off to talk. They walked outside and took a seat on a bench just outside the Hospital.
"Andrew, how long did you know my brother was part of Team Darkness?" asked Morgan.
"To be honest with you I actually didn't know for sure. I had a report on my desk that he might be, but as reports go you have to take them with a grain of salt. We had no idea if the report was true or not even if it was we wouldn't have never sent you after him," replied Andrew.
"Why wouldn't you?" asked Morgan.
"Your actions. I didn't know what they would be if you confronted some like your brother. Could you have made a decision to have stopped him or knowing that he was your brother you wouldn't have been able to. That is why I sent Tina and Melissa first after them," replied Andrew.
"As much as I would like to disagree with you Andrew, I cant, I don't think I could have battled my own brother even knowing it wasn't really him," Morgan said humbly.
"Exactly why I went the course I did. I'm glad you understand, I need to speak with him again as soon as your parents get here," said Andrew.
"What do you need to talk to him about?" asked Morgan.
"I just need any info I can get on the others Goodsworth has mind controlled," replied Andrew.
"He doesn't remember that Andrew. You cant push him to get the answers you need," said Morgan.
"Morgan, there are families like yours that need answers about their missing loved ones. He is the only piece I have so I need to push him some. I will stop if he asks me to," replied Andrew.
"Andrew, he doesn't know anything. I wont let you interrogate my brother like some common criminal," Morgan said angry and annoyed with Andrew.
"Morgan, you know as well as I do his actions make him a criminal. He attacked a government facility in Nashville and in Seattle. Even if he knows one small detail that I can use to find the others," replied Andrew.
"He had no idea what he was doing. he wasn't in his right mind," said Morgan.
"That's no excuse Morgan," replied Andrew.
"Fine you can talk to him," said Morgan.
Just as there conversation had ended Morgan's parents walked up to them. With them Andrew and Morgan walked back into the hospital. They walked into his room while Andrew took a seat next to Katie.
(An Hour Later)
Morgan walked out into the waiting room and told Andrew that his brother was awake in could answer the questions. Andrew left Katie's side and walked into the room with Morgan. His parents walked out and let the Andrew and Morgan talk to Tim.
"Hi Andrew," said Tim.
"Tim, I'm going to ask you some questions. I want you to answer to the best of your ability. If you think I'm pushing you to hard I will stop and let you be," said Andrew.
"Ok Andrew, like I said I don't remember much but I'll try to answer your questions," said Tim.
"Good then let's start with this. Think back to the day you won that gym badge. What happened before your battle? Was there any strange people around? Any strange questions you got?" asked Andrew.
"Ok give me a minute," replied Tim.
Tim closed his eyes and thought back about that day. The details came to him.
"Ok just before my battle I was at the Pokemon Center getting my team checked. I remember the Center was rather empty, there was I think 3 other people, or was it 4 I don't know, but I do remember there was this strange person on the phone there. He didn't look like any trainer I have seen there before. I really think about that person till now. The only person I talked to before my gym battle was my traveling companion," said Tim.
"Lets focus on this strange person. Do you know what he talked about? How about his looks was he tall, short fat, or thin?" asked Andrew.
"I don't remember to much of him but I do remember he did have sunglasses on and talking about pokemon and trainers. He said something about watching the battles at the gym today," replied Tim.
"Now let's talk about that gym battle. Do you remember seeing that person in the stands? If you did see him, what was he doing?" asked Andrew.
"He was there I do remember that. My companion told me she saw him sitting up on the top level of the bleachers. He was still talking on his phone," replied Tim.
"After your battle did he follow you out? If he did where did he go after that? Did he follow you back to where ever you went to after your match?" asked Andrew.
"I don't remember if he left around the same time I did. I was just so happy about winning my badge that I had to call my dad," replied Tim.
"After calling your dad, then what did you do?" asked Andrew.
"I got my pokemon back from the nurse and was just about to leave, but someone walked over to me and said that Roger Goodsworth from the Pokemon League wanted to talk to me about my performance," replied Tim.
"What exactly did he say to you?" asked Andrew.
"When I walked over to the phone he hung up. I just shrugged it off and then went outside to train," replied Tim.
What happened after you got outside and started training?" asked Andrew.
"I heard something behind me and when I looked I saw nothing and then when I returned my attention back to my pokemon everything went black and that's all I can think of," replied Tim.
"It appears someone knocked out. After you came too, What did you see, what did you hear? asked Andrew.
"I don't remember Andrew," replied Tim.
"Think Tim," said Andrew.
"Umm. I did know we were moving. Someone said we'd be there soon. A few minutes later there was this bump and then I was lead off whatever I was in and into a bedroom I would guess. After going into that room I was able to see again," replied Tim.
"Who else was in that room?" asked Andrew.
"That's all a blur," replied Tim.
"Anyone stick out to you?" asked Andrew.
"Yeah there was this female. She had blonde hair and looked scared all of us tried comforting her, but she was panicking and almost in tears. And after that I don't remember anything that last thing I remember is that young lady who I hope is ok," replied Tim.
"Thanks Tim for answering my questions. Get well and get some rest I have some work to do," said Andrew walking out of the room.
Morgan followed him out of the room as they walked towards the waiting room they talked some.
"Do you know who the blonde girl he talked about is?" asked Morgan.
"I have a suspicion who she might be but without any proof I cannot tell," replied Andrew.
"Who is she Andrew?" asked Morgan.
"If I'm right her name is Emily Hopkins , she went missing around the same time your brother did," replied Andrew.
"We need to find these others then," said Morgan.
"I couldn't agree more. So Morgan I want you to lead the investigation of these missing trainers from here on. Work closely with Jen, Tina and Melissa, any important info report it directly to me," replied Andrew.
"Ok, Where should I start?" asked Morgan.
"Start at the place your brother went missing at and retrace his steps. Depending on transportation they couldn't have taken him far from that location," replied Andrew.
"I'll spend the rest of the day with my brother and start my search tomorrow," said Morgan.
Morgan walked back into his brother's room while Andrew left back into the waiting room. Tim's parents saw Andrew leave and they too walked towards Tim' room. Andrew took a seat next to Katie said something to her and they got up and left.
(Andrew and Katie)
The two of them walked in the direction of the Pokemon Center.
"What did you find out?" asked Katie.
"Well if everything is matching I believe your sister was taken by Goodsworth and mind controlled. If I'm right she was the red head we ran into in Nashville at the Lab," replied Andrew.
"So your telling me we had already seen her before this," said Katie.
"yes," Andrew replied.
"Please find her and bring her home. Do that for me, promise me you will find her," pleaded Katie.
"I promise Katie I will find her," replied Andrew.
Andrew and Katie walked back over to the Pokemon Center. Katie went in and Andrew went on his way toward the hotel he was staying at. The hotel was close to the airport so all he has to do tomorrow is check his backpack in and board his plane so he can head back to London.
Hey readers sorry for the hiatus. I was busy doing some other things, but know I'm back and starting in May I will try to do weekly updates again. Anyway lets dive right into the story.
The reason I didn't do the contest in this chapter is because I have been wanting to start to close some of the plot holes I left open. And one of the biggest one is the missing trainers. So with just finding the one they did in this chapter we can start to see who is under Goodsworth control.
Now moving on with the annocemnet of Pokemon Sun and Moon. I do plan on writing another story like this. The only difference will be, we will have a whole new cast of characters and a new evil team. There will be some constants and that is Andrew will return as the Champion again, but this time with less appearances he will be more like a side character. Not only will he return so will some of the others and that's where I'll leave it for now.
Trainer Update:
Andrew will be heading back to London in the next Chapter.
Katie, Emma, and Brady will now be heading towards the next gym leader. The 11th gym will be a short series of chapter and so will be the 12th gym leader.
The next Contest will not be till the 15th gym battle in Seattle.
