(Tuesday Morning)
Andrew was already at the airport early that morning he didn't want to miss his flight for any reason. He was waiting in the terminal, he mentally thought about what Tim had told him yesterday. He was trying so hard to piece it all together, but in his head somethings just didn't sound right. It bugged him that Goodsworth went ahead and did this behind the Champion at the times back. Before he could dive deeper into that thought the plane he was boarding started to let passengers he got up from where he was sitting and boarded. After taking his seat and the plane was full and ready for take off he buckled his seatbelt and sat back in his chair. The plane took off without a hitch and was safely in the air. Andrew took out some earbuds put them into his ears and slowly fell asleep.
(At the Pokemon Center)
Katie was the first one up. She quickly got out of her bed and backed up her bags, she then walked over to the bathroom. She wanted to take a shower and get dressed before Emma, and Brady wake up. She really wanted to head to the 11th gym to earn her next gym badge, she wants to continue to get better and become stronger not just for her own sake but also for her Absol. After getting out of the bathroom Brady and Emma were just waking up.
"It's about time you two woke up," said Katie sitting on her bed.
"Katie it's still to early to be that perky. Can you at least wait till noon," yawned Emma.
"Em, I wake up this way I'm not one for having a bad day. If you think this is bad could you imagine what time Andrew had to wake up," replied Katie
"Speaking of Andrew what time did he leave back to London?" asked Brady.
Each of them looked at each other and shook their heads no. The Nurse then collected their bowls and cups. She then walked off with them. After she walked off the three of them got up from the table and mads their way to the exit. As they were getting ready to walk a familiar
"He left back to London at 4:30am, but he checked out of his hotel at 3am," replied Katie.
"Katie, how do you know when exactly he left?" asked Emma.
"He texted me before he left this morning and he'll text me when he lands," replied Katie.
The two of them got out of bed and walked over to the bathrooms. They both took quick showers and got dressed before returning to the bedroom of the Pokemon Center they stayed at. Emma and Brady then packed up their stuff and left the bedroom and walked back into the front of the center. It was a quiet it day unlike yesterday. The three of them walked up to the counter and asked the Nurse if she still had any breakfast. She showed them to the table and set down three bowls of oatmeal in front of them. The three of them scarfted the food down and drank the OJ she set down with the bowls.
"Would you three like anymore?" asked the Nurse.
They looked at each other and then shook their heads no. The Nurse then collected their bowls and cups and walked away with them. Once she walked away they got up from the table and made their way to the door. As they were about to walk and familiar face just walked in.
"Well, what do we have here?" said the familiar person.
"Hey bro," replied Brady.
"Hi Cole" said Emma.
"So Cole what brings you to town?" asked Brady.
"Well if you must know bro I'm here looking for you three," replied Cole.
"Why?" asked Brady.
"I'm curious on how good you three of gotten," said Cole.
"How many badges do you have?" asked Brady.
"I have 10 just like you all do," replied Cole
"I thought you would have more than that. You were ahead of us when we saw you last," said Katie.
"Since that battle in the park with Andrew I have been rethinking everything. Battling him really makes you do that. He is just a different trainer and battler altogether," replied Cole.
"You don't have to tell us that we have seen him battle first hand," said Brady.
"So Katie how long have you been with Andrew?" asked Cole.
"What do you mean Cole?" Katie asked in response.
"You don't have to play dumb with me I saw you two in Boston. Seeing you two in Boston I can already tell you two are more than friends," replied Cole
"I don't think that's any of your business," said Katie.
"Don't worry Katie I won't tell anyone about it," joked Cole.
"Whatever Cole," Katie responded rolling her eyes.
"Any of you up for a quick one on one battle?" asked Cole.
"Yeah I will," replied Katie.
The four of them walked out of the Pokemon Center and walked to the back. Cole took his spot and Katie right across from him.
(Katie vs. Cole)
"I'll call out my pokemon first. So go Beartic," said Cole.
"My turn then. Go, Absol," said Katie.
"Beartic use thrash,"
"Absol use detect to dodge the attack and then use dark pulse,"
Beartic ran recklessly at Absol. Absol quickly jumped back at the first attempt of Beartic's attack. Absol then jumped to the left to avoid the second and back again to avoid the third and final attempt.
"That Absol is faster than I expected,"
Now it was Absol's turn. He stopped his quick pace and sent a large beam of dark energy right at Beartic.
"Beartic use protect,"
Beartic was suffering from the confusion caused by the thrashing he tried to use earlier so rather than bringing up a shield he just him himself. The large beam found its target and sent Beartic flying in the direction his trainer. Beartic landed just to left of his trainer. He shook off the hit and ran back in front of Cole.
"Beartic use brick break,"
"Absol use thunderbolt,"
As Beartic ran at Katie's Absol, he charged up. Absol sent a larger then normal bolt of thunder at Beartic. This large bolt stopped Beartic in his tracks.
"Absol let's finish this up. Use razor wind,"
Absol whipped his head creating razor sharp winds. Beartic finally was able to move again but it was just to late the razor sharp winds went right at him and slashed him. Beartic fell to his belly and fainted after the sharp winds did its job.
After the match was finally over Katie walked over to her Absol and patted him on the head. As she was doing this everyone noticed how content Absol seemed to be compared to when he was out of control with all the power he has.
(Back at the Pokemon Center)
All four of them were seated inside waiting for Katie's Absol and Cole's Beartic to be healed. Katie was upstairs looking at her phone while he other three were talking downstairs.
"How did Katie become that powerful?" asked Cole.
"It's all the time she has spent around Andrew. She learns so much from watching each of Andrew's battles she sees," replied Emma.
"I find that hard to believe. I mean Andrew changes his battling style a lot I mean he can go from playing defensive like he has done before to playing the speed game. He changes even in mid battle," said Cole.
"I have to agree with friend here," said Daniel. As he and Cat walked over and joined them.
"I thought you two would have left already by now?" asked Brady.
"We actually planned to but we were held up and now we're leaving after lunch," replied Daniel.
And how would you know all this about Andrew?" asked Cole cynically.
"I have battled Andrew three different times. Each time we was even harder. I know from my last battle with him I still can get better," replied Daniel.
The last person the five of them to walk through that door into the Pokemon Center was Morgan but here he was and he also walked over to the group of them.
"Take it from someone who has been around Andrew. He is a very gifted trainer and battler, but Andrew does have some flaws. He has a tendency to over think things, but it takes a very storng trainer to get to him to that point. He also gets over confident at times but again it takes a lot to get him there. I hate to say this about anyone but myself but Andrew is the best this region has to offer and I have to admit if your going to learn from anybody it might as well be him," said Morgan.
"I mean you all can say this about one trainer, but is he actually that good like your praises say so," said Cole.
"Cole don't doubt Andrew's skills there is a reason why he is Champion," said Katie returning downstairs.
"Well I better get going I have work to do," said Morgan walking over to the counter to get his pokemon checked.
The Nurse looked over his pokemon in the back. Shortly after doing so she walked backed out with Morgan's pokemon. Morgan walked over to the counter collected them and put them on his belt. He then made his way to the exit but was stopped by Daniel.
"Morgan I would like to battle you if I could?" asked Daniel.
"Yeah we can battle but not here and not now. The next we meet Daniel you and I will battle," replied Morgan.
"Ok I look forward to it then," said Daniel.
"Well then till next time I'll see you all around," said Morgan leaving the Pokemon Center.
Brady looked over at Daniel.
"So Dan why do you want to battle Morgan?" asked Brady.
"I mean it's one thing to battle Andrew, but getting an opportunity to battle one of his elite four is something I can't pass up," replied Daniel.
"So Dan do you know what Morgan specializes in?" Katie asked.
"I know at least one of his types and that is flying," replied Dan laughing a bit.
"So the other type is a mystery then," said Katie.
"The thing with Andrew's elite four is all of them specialize in two types. Marc is is Dragon and fighting. Tina is ghost and ground. Melissa is psychic and fairy. I just don't remember Morgan's other type," replied Dan.
"It has to be hard to only use two types in battle. I mean an opponent can easily prepare for that," commented Brady.
"Normally I would agree with you Brady but these four specific trainers know how to use their typings to their advantage. So preparing that way may also be your biggest downfall," replied Daniel.
"So you don't think it's that easy to prepare for his two types," commented Cole.
"Not at all. All of them prepare a way to cover their weakness up just like any trainer in their position," replied Daniel.
The group sat there for a moment before Daniel spoke up again.
"Well whenever we do see him again I'll be ready to face him. Wether I win or lose I don't know yet but it will be a good experience for my pokemon and I," said Daniel before him and and Cat got and made their way out of the Pokemon Center.
Brady, Cole, Emma and Katie sat their a few more minutes before they two got up made their way to leave town.
(At the Town's Exit)
"Well little bro it was fun seeing you but I must be going. There is stuff for me to do before I head to collect my next gym badge. Good luck you three and I'll see you all around," said Cole heading back into the city.
The others walked out of the city and started their way to Rapid City, SD they were excited to be back on the road after their time in Kansas City. Katie was thinking about what Andrew had told her yesterday about the red head they ran into. It stung that they had both ran into Emily but could do nothing to bring her home.
"So Brady, how exactly are we getting to Rapid City?" asked Emma.
"For now we are walking there," replied Brady.
"There's got to be another faster way there it could take us weeks to get there if we walk and I don't really want to walk anyway," Emma complained.
"Sometimes it would be nice to have a flying type pokemon that could carry all of us," said Brady.
"Yeah it would, but all we have is Honchkrow, my Swanna, or Katie's Pidgeotto," replied Emma.
They just kept walking for about an hour till they came to a rest stop. The three of them stopped there to eat and take a break while there they meet up with yet another familiar face it was Emma's And Katie's mom. She noticed them and walked over them from the group of people she was around.
"Hey mom, What are you doing here?" Emma asked.
"If you must know I'm here to meet up with some of my colleagues. We heard a report about a series of events happening in Rapid City. My colleagues agree it may be connected to the Distortion World. So we all are gathered here to wait for everyone to show up," replied Michelle.
"If you are going to Rapid City do you mind taking us with you then?" asked Emma.
"Yeah, we can squeeze you into one of our transport cars. I think the one I'm in has four seats open so you'll be in that one," replied Michelle.
"Thanks mom," said Emma.
"Anything for you kids. While you three wait go get some lunch inside we are still waiting on two people to show up," replied Michelle.
Emma, Brady, and Katie walked into the building and spotted a small diner, they walked over to it and found a table. A waiter showed shortly after they found their seats he handed them each a menu and they all ordered the same thing a burger, some fries and milkshake. Waiting 15 minutes the waiter returned with their order he set everything down in front of the right person and then walked away. The three of them ate, and then paid their bill and walked back out. Michelle was still waiting for their last person to arrive. He was late as always.
"Did you three enjoy your food?" asked Michelle.
"Yeah, we all did mom," replied Emma.
The final car showed up finally a guy stepped out of the car and walked over to Michelle and the others. The guy had a laptop case in one hand and about four book and a notebook in the other.
"Its about time you got her Manny," said Michelle.
"Sorry, I was caught up reading a new report. These strange occurrences happening around South Dakota has sent red flags up. This all started when the orbs were taken. It has sent the distortion world crazy," replied Manny.
"I know it has. If we are right we must bring it before Andrew and the League. It must be taken seriously," said Michelle.
"The last time we tried that Andrew shrugged it off," replied Manny.
"Andrew will take us seriously now I know he will," said Michelle.
"I'm glad you think so," snickered Manny.
"Well it does help he is dating one of my daughters," replied Michelle.
"He's dating Emma I thought she was with someone else," said Manny.
"No, he's not with Emma he is with Katie," replied Michelle.
"Really, shy Katie," Many replied with a laugh thinking what she just said was a joke.
"I'm not kidding Manny," said Michelle on a very serious note.
Everyone loaded up in the cars. Michelle, Manny, Emma, Katie, and Brady was in one car while the other car was full of Michelle's colleagues.
(On the Drive to Rapid City)
The radio was on but low. The station was coming live from London, the station was waiting for the arrival Andrew. A few commercials in they were cut with news saying that the plane carrying Andrew Hanson has arrived in London.
"Mom, turn it up please?" asked Katie.
"Sure thing Katie," replied Michelle.
Michelle turned the volume up on the radio so everyone can hear.
"This WPKE coming live from London's airport. We are waiting at the terminal to get some words from the US Champion if he will speak to us. We will come live when we catch Andrew so stay tuned," said the host.
The music returned shortly after that. Katie's phone beeped, she looked down and picked it up and saw it was a text from Andrew. It said that he has landed safely he will call later when he gets to the hotel. He has radio interview then, a dinner with the other Champions. Katie sent him a quick response and went back to listening to the music that was cut out.
"I'm here and we have finally caught up with Andrew Hanson. He has agreed to answer some questions before he leaves," said the radio host.
Andrew and the host walk over to an area to sit down. He gave Andrew a headset that sent what the was saying directly to the station and then played for the listeners.
"After many years, why has the US decided to come to the Champion's League Meetings?" asked the host.
"Its quite simple really, as a Champion I want to bring attention back to the US not bad attention like recent history shows, this shows us in the US in a new light. That we are more than willing to work with everyone around the world to make this world a better place for all us Pokemon Trainer, Coordinators, and Professors alike," replied Andrew.
"A very true statement from someone like you. Now, With everything happening in the US why come?" asked the host.
"This about more than my region, this is about all of us. We have more than just one problem in this world. Yes, the orbs missing is a major problem, but so is the constant threat of a mad man like Blaine Drake in this world. He brings chaos to anywhere he goes. It takes a group effort to bring down someone like him. Even if it means I spearhead this, he needs to brought to justice, he needs to answer for his crimes and that's that," replied Andrew.
"What about reports showing that Seraph Co. is backing his actions? How does that effect the problem?" asked the host.
"If they are, they are just as responsible for his crimes as he is. Their actions backing a mad man like him is heinous just like anyone who else backed him or followed him. Following a mad man like him will lead a person to their death bringing him alongside Seraph Co. down is a goal I cant wait to see. Their CEO will learn that if they are not willing to follow the rules of our region, then plain and simple there is no place for them. I will gladly watch them cripple beneath themselves, when we start slapping them with sanctions, restricting business," replied Andrew.
The radio host was speechless, what Andrew was saying was something completely differnet then he was expecting. This not only resonated with the host but a few of the people listening. By time he was talking the group arrived in Rapid City.
(In Rapid City)
The group was dropped off at the Pokemon Center while the group of scientist kept driving till they arrived at the hotel they were staying at. Brady, Emma, and Katie walked inside the Pokemon Center. Once inside Katie recognized one of the two sitting on the couch, it was Warren and she could hear him and the other two guys talking about the radio interview Andrew just did. Brady and Emma walked up to the counter and got their beds. They walked upstairs Katie took a seat on a chair on the side of the TV.
"Warren, can you believe what Andrew just said about Seraph and Blaine," said one of the other guys.
"I know what you mean Rainer, Its hard to believe to hear such a response from him. It sounds as if he really wants them to be brought to justice," replied Warren.
"I know you want to see them brought down, but I don't know if Andrew can spearhead a campaign against a man like Blaine. Andrew will be a step behind him if he does. He needs someone like you Warren leading this," said Rainer.
"Yeah, I get were you are coming from Ray, but I have to respect Andrew if he chooses to lead this after he stops Team Darkness. I will gladly lend my aid and support to him," replied Warren.
Warren looked over at Hiro who was on heightened alert as he noticed that Katie was listening in on their conversation. Hiro said something to Warren and he looked over at Katie. She got up and left the area and walked up to the bedroom she put her bag down and walked back downstairs and outside. Warren followed her out and caught up with her.
"I know who you are Katie," said Warren.
Katie looked at him before responding. She wanted to heave Andrew's advice and not talk to him but she didn't know what to do that was till her phone rang it was Andrew. She sped up and walked off Warren stopped and watched her leave as she answered her phone.
(Phone Call)
"Hey," said Katie.
"After the meetings with various others is good to hear a familiar voice again," replied Andrew.
"Ah, thanks Andrew its great to hear that you made it ok. I don't know what I do if something happened to you," said Katie.
"Katie, take my word nothing will happen to me I'm going to be here as long as you need me to be, I maybe busy from time to time, but I will always have time for you," replied Andrew.
"You sure know how to make a girl blush don't you Andrew," said Katie.
"I try," joked Andrew.
Katie let out a small laugh.
"So did you all make it to Rapid City ok?" asked Andrew.
"Yeah my mom dropped us off here. She was on her way to investigate here in the city," replied Katie.
"I see so when do you all plan to battle the gym leader?" asked Andrew.
"I plan to do so tomorrow. If I had to guess the others will battle her as well tomorrow," replied Katie.
"Good luck with her. She is a hard gym leader. Her fairy types are no laughing matter," said Andrew.
"I know she will be hard. I have my Mawile with me and we are going to be practicing her iron head attack she learned just recently," replied Katie.
"Well, I better let you get to that. I have someone knocking my door, it's probably Ash, I have to go to dinner with them and then we have meetings all day tomorrow. So I'll talk to you later. Again good luck and I hope you all win," said Andrew.
"Talk to you soon. Bye Andrew," replied Katie hanging up and putting her phone away.
(After the Phone Call)
Katie walked back to the Pokemon Center and more specifically she walked to the back. Katie called out her Mawile and she then started to train Mawile. The goal was to master iron head before her battle with the gym leader. She worked late into the night but they finally did master it. Now Katie can only hope that all this training will work out in her favor. She will have to wait and see. After all the training Katie walked into the Pokemon Center got her Mawile checked by the Nurse. After getting her pokemon checked the Nurse warmed up some of the dinner that Brady and Emma already ate. The Nurse set it down on the table. Katie walked over took a seat and ate that down. After eating Katie walked up the stairs and saw Emma and Brady talking.
"How'd all the training go Katie?" asked Brady.
"It went well. Mawile and I worked and I think she mastered iron head now. With any luck mastering iron head will help me out at the gym leader," replied Katie.
"I think all of us are ready to go," said Brady.
"Before we can even think of the gym badge I need some sleep," said Emma.
"Yeah I can agree with you Em," said Brady.
Emma and Brady both got changed and went to bed Katie sat on her bed and thought about her pokemon more specifically her Absol. Something in her mind kept bugging her, she is aware that Absol is differnet, eventually she just feel asleep with this thought in the back of her mind.
Hey readers!
I'm back finally after moving and then vacation all came at once, but now that I'm back this story will finally reach and end, but don't worry this story may end but the region wont I have begun planning out a story that will take place two years later. I will be able to add the new pokemon from Sun and Moon. The characters will be differnet, most will anyway. There will be some returners, as in Andrew will return so will Katie, Brady, Emma, Daniel, Cat and Warren in some aspect. As well as a few others that I haven't named yet. Before this story ends I will introduce the new main character so stay tuned for that.
Anyway I have schedule in mind so I should have another update out early next week or next weekend otherwise.
