(At the Gym)
After an odd morning our three travelers finally arrived at the gym. They walk into the gym and standing there in a light pink dress was the gym leader.
"Hiya, my name is Kayla, and I'm your 11th gym leader. Its a pleasure to meet all of you, I would hope that you three are here to challenge my gym. If you are then follow me and I'll show you to our battle arena," introduced Kayla.
The three of them followed Kayla into the gym and was lead to the battle arena. The arena was made from pink clay with white lines. Kayla walked into her spot leaving the others standing there.
"So which one of you is going first?" asked Kayla.
The three of them talked amongst themselves and Katie stepped up first.
"Ah, so miss what's your name?" asked Kayla.
"My name is Katie," replied Katie.
"It's great to meet you. Now that you are first then step onto my arena lets get this battle started," said Kayla.
Katie walked onto the arena. She took her spot and then a ref joined them.
"Well Katie, this will be a four on four pokemon battle. You can change out your pokemon while I cant, may the best trainer win then," said Kayla.
"One of us will win. I'm more than ready to battle you," replied Katie.
"You have this sprit about you I just can't think of the words to describe you yet, but I will so shall we," said Kayla.
(Gym Battle: Kayla vs. Katie)
"Go Azumaril," said Kayla.
"Go Serperior," said Katie.
"Azumaril use ice punch,"
"Serperior us your tail to get into the air then use leaf blade,"
Azumaril's hand had this icy mist around it as she ran at Serperior, Serperior used his tail as a springboard to get into the air. Serperior's tail then turned green and became longer.
"Azumaril jump back now,"
Azumaril looked up as Serperior started to come down. She jumped back and Serperior's tail slammed into the ground.
"Energy ball, Serperior,"
Kayla and her Azumaril thought they outplayed Serperior, but they were wrong just as Serperior hit the ground, he sent an green ball of energy right at Azumaril. She wasn't quick enough to dodge it and the ball slammed her in the gut sending her flying back landing just in front of her trainer. Azumaril was quick to jump back to her feet ready to go again.
"Use aqua jet Azumaril,"
"Serperior use giga drain,'
Azumaril was surrounded by water. She then swam into the air and then right at Serperior, She was to quick for Serperior to avoid the hit and he was nailed with the water attack. Azumaril landed at the half way mark of the arena. The aqua jet did minimal damage to Serperior. After getting hit with the jet of water Serperior slammed his tail on the ground and sent vines at Azumaril.
"Azumaril avoid the vines,"
Azumaril acknowledged what her trainer just said and she started to run. She managed to avoid the first series of vines, but eventually it caught up with her as one of the vines wrapped around her foot. That single vine drained her energy and, Azumaril was unable to keep running and the rest of the vines caught up to her and warped around her. Her energy was drained at a rapid rate. Serperior withdrew the vines leaving Azumaril standing wobbly and breathing heavily.
"Serperior lets wrap this up use energy ball,"
"Azumaril use play rough,"
Azumaril's ears perked up and she started to walk at Serperior. While Azumaril was walking toward him Serperior sent a powerful ball of energy right at the walking Azumaril. This green ball exploded right in the gut of Azumaril and sent her flying into a wall behind her trainer.
"Azumaril is unable to battle, Serperior wins," said the ref.
"Return Azumaril and go Togekiss," said Kayla.
"Serperior good job return and go Poliwhirl," said Katie.
Kayla looked at Katie's pokemon for a moment and thought about what she just did.
"If I had to guess Poliwhirl here must know an ice attack why else go out it if doesn't. She could be tricking me though. Katie here is definitely different from many trainers I have faced. Well I must stay on my toes against this pokemon," Kayla told herself.
"Poliwhirl use bubblebeam,"
"Togekiss use double team to dodge it,"
Out of the swirl on his belly Poliwhirl sent a series of bubbles right at Togekiss. Togekiss moved so fast she made copies of herself confusing Poliwhirl. The bubbles hit one of the copies not he original.
"Togekiss use dazzling gleam,"
Togekiss was glowing white and sent a bright flash of the same color at Poliwhirl. Poliwhirl closed his eyes as he blasted back.
"Poliwhirl use ice beam,"
"I knew it, Togekiss use flamethrower,"
Poliwhirl sent a bright blue beam of rigid ice right at the flying pokemon. Togekiss sent a red hot stream of flames at the beam of ice. This stream of fire burned right through the beam of ice and back at Poliwhirl. Poliwhirl took no damage from the fire attack.
"So she knows flamethrower. I should have expected something like that, but now I know for sure. I need to get past the fire attack to land an ice beam," said Katie to herself.
"That Togekiss could be a problem to Katie. She has managed to avoid taking that ice beam from Poliwhirl," said Brady.
"How do you think Katie will get past that?" asked Emma.
"She will it's just a matter of how long it will take her to think of something," replied Brady.
They both looked at Katie, it looked like she was smiling, they both have seen this smile before, but not on her it was on Andrew.
"Poliwhirl use bubble beam,"
"That didn't work the first. It wont work again. Togekiss use double team to dodge it,"
Again Togekiss moved fast enough leaving copies of herself making it hard for Poliwhirl to even use his attack.
"Now Poliwhirl use ice beam. Start at the farthest copy and move it till you find the real one,"
Poliwhirl made a beam of ice and kept hitting clone after clone. They disappeared one by one. Kayla looked on helpless because if she told her Togekiss to use an attack then Poliwhirl will know which one is the real one.
"Togekiss use dazzling gleam,"
Togekiss was glowing again and this made her an easy target for the ice attack. Poliwhirl was now able to focus it in on her and sent the beam of ice at her. The beam of ice nailed her and sent her into the ground. Even though she hit the ground Togekiss was still able to get her attack off. The beam of light blasted Poliwhirl back landing in front of Katie.
"Poliwhirl is unable to battle, Togekiss wins," said the ref.
"Good job Poliwhirl return, and go Absol," said Katie.
"Why would you go out to something that is weak to fairy attacks?" asked Kayla.
"You are right about Absol being weak to fairy attacks, but I know what I'm doing. Absol here has always been reliable to me and he won't fail me now," replied Katie.
"Hmm, having faith in a pokemon that is weak to the type you are battling is a sad mistake to make. I'll gladly show you exactly what I mean Katie," said Kayla.
"I'll gladly show you Kayla I'm not fooling you, Absol will beat Togekiss," replied Katie.
"Wait one minute here, she sounds just like a person I have battled not to long ago," said Kayla to herself.
Togekiss looked at Absol from the ground. Absol stared the Togekiss down he didn't flinch at all. Absol wasn't scared of facing a fairy type like Togekiss.
"Absol use thunderbolt,"
"Togekiss get off the ground quickly,"
Absol charged up and sent a bolt of thunder at the grounded Togekiss. The bolt tore up the ground as it went at Togekiss. Togekiss tired to get up, but couldn't Kayla looked closely and could see that the wing closer to the ground was frozen by the ice beam. The bolt nailed Togekiss and shocked Togekiss after the bolt was finished Togekiss lay completely on the ground.
"Togekiss is unable to battle, Absol wins," said the ref.
"Hmm. I guess I was wrong, you relied on the ice beam freezing my Togekiss' wing. If it wasn't for that this may have been differnet but we will never know," said Kayla.
Katie had this smile on her face. She knew her plan would work freezing one of the wings prevented Togekiss from flying which meant her easy pickings for Absol's thunderbolt.
"Return Togekiss and go Slurpuff," said Kayla.
"Return Absol and go Mawile," said Katie.
"So Katie your last pokemon to use in this battle is a Mawile. I must say saving her for last is very smart on your part. I didn't think you had a steel type ready," commented Kayla.
"Mawile and I spent a lot of time last night getting ready for this battle. She is exactly the pokemon I wanted to go out to last and win me my next gym badge," said Katie.
"Lets just see exactly what your made of. Slurpuff use play rough,"
"Ok, Mawile use iron head,"
The jaws attached to Mawile's head became a sliver color as Slurpuff ran at Mawile. Just as Slurpuff reached Mawile, she swung her jaws at Slurpuff. The jaws nailed Slurpuff in the gut and sent him flying towards the wall to the east of the arena. Slurpuff nailed the wall and fell to the ground.
"Come on Slurpuff get up please," said Kayla.
Slurpuff slowly got back to her feet. They both looked over at Mawile, she now had rocks circling her body. Mawile then sent these rocks at her. Slurpuff closed her eyes as the rocks nailed her. Slurpuff was sent back into the wall. This time around she was fainted sitting against it.
"Slurpuff is unable to battle, Mawile wins," said the ref.
"I guess it has come to this. Katie this will be your toughest challenge yet so I hope your ready. Return Slurpuff and go Sylveon," said Kayla.
"Mawile here is sticking around. She can beat your Sylveon just wait and see," replied Katie.
"Lets just see what you got then shall we," said Kayla.
"Mawile use stone edge,"
"Sylveon use protect,"
Small rocks circled Mawile's body. As the rocks circled her body Sylveon brought a green shield around her to cover herself from an attack. Mawile sent her small arms out and sent the rocks flying at Sylveon. Sylveon brought up a green shield which protected her from any attacks.
"Now Slyveon drop the shield and use moonblast,"
"I know Mawile will be to slow to dodge the attack so I'm going to have to approach this differently. I know just what to do," Katie said to herself before calling out an attack. "Mawile use iron head on the moonblast,"
Mawile readied her second jaw, it became coated in a sliver color. Mawile then stood her ground and looked right at Sylveon, Mawile knew what was coming and for the most part was ready for it. Sylveon dropped her green shield and made in front of her mouth a bright pink ball. She then sent this ball at Mawile. Once the attack was almost in front of her, Mawile slammed her second jaw into the ball causing the ball to hit the ground and explode leaving nothing but a crater in front of Mawile.
"Creative way to not take an attack," commented Kayla.
"Thanks," replied Katie.
"Now Sylveon use draining kiss,"
"Mawile use stone edge,"
Mawile had rocks go around her body. While Sylveon ran towards her. Mawile sent these rocks at Sylveon while she was running at her. The rocks sent Sylveon flying back right in front of her trainer.
"Now before she can recover, Mawile use iron head,"
Sylveon got up and back to her feet just before Mawile was standing next to her. Mawile then whipped her second sliver colored jaw right into the body of Sylveon. This sent Sylveon right into the wall across the arena. Right after hitting it she fell to the ground and fainted.
"Sylveon is unable to battle, Mawile wins. Katie is the winner," said the ref.
Katie ran out into the arena and picked up Mawile and gave her a big hug.
"Thanks so much Mawile I couldn't win this match without you," said Katie.
Mawile looked up at Katie's happy face. Mawile too was happy about all the affection she was getting from Katie. Kayla first walked over to her Sylveon and checked on her. Sylveon got up back onto her feet and then the two of them walked over to Katie.
"Katie you are by far the most creative trainer I have battle yet. Your determination and will to win is commendable and you will go far just keep up what you are doing and your future is bright," said Kayla.
"I have learned from the best on what I need to do to win," replied Katie.
"I can see a lot of what Andrew does in what you do. Well enough talking here you earned this," said Kayla handing Katie her pixie badge.
Katie grabbed the badge and examined it. She was overjoyed about collecting her 11th gym badge. She now only needs 5 more to make her way into the Champions Cup.
"Now, whichever one of you is next you can make your way done here and wait while I heal up my pokemon," said Kayla before walking into the back.
Brady got up and made his way done to the arena. He just watched what Katie did, and he knows what he is doing. Kayla's fairy types are going to be hard. He only had Empoleon that knew metal claw as the only steel type attack. Kayla walked back out and took her spot.
"So what's your name?" asked Kayla.
"I'm Brady," replied Brady.
"Well Brady the same rules as before so good luck and lets get to it," said Kayla.
(Gym Battle: Brady vs. Kayla)
"Go Azumaril," said Kayla.
"Go Electrike," said Brady.
"What a spunky little electric type you have there Brady," commented Kayla.
"Thanks I guess," replied Brady.
"Now, Azumaril use aqua jet,"
"Electrike use discharge,"
Azumaril's body was surrounded by water before she swam at Brady's Electrike. His Electrike sent an array of electricity all around the arena. One of the bolts of electricity struck Azumaril swimming at him. The whole jet of water was electrified and stopped Azumaril in her tracks. She fell belly first to the arena.
"Electrike now use electro ball,"
"Azumaril you have to dodge the attack,"
Azumaril tried to get up but couldn't the discharge attack paralyzed her so she couldn't really move. Electrike opened his mouth and made a ball of electricity in front of his mouth. Once the attack was fully charged he then sent it Azumaril. The attack nailed the paralyzed Azumaril and sent her right down a few feet away, fainted.
"Azumaril is unable to battle, Electrike wins," said the ref.
"Hmm, your are a very interesting trainer Brady. I'm intrigued to see what more you have got," said Kayla.
"I got plenty more to show just wait and see," replied Brady.
"Return Azumaril, and go Klefki," said Kayla.
"Return Electrike and go Growlithe," said Brady.
"So a fire type against my steel type," stated Kayla.
"Growlithe use flamethrower,"
"Klefki use protect,"
Growlithe sent a stream of orange flames right at Klefki. The key ring pokemon brought up a shield around itself protecting itself from the super effective hit. The stream of flames hit the shield and was sent towards the ceiling of the gym.
"Klefki use dazzling gleam,"
"Growlithe use flamethrower again,"
Klefki began to glow a bright whit color, it then sent rays of this energy at Growlithe. Growlithe was blinded by the light, but he still sent the stream of orange at the key ring pokemon. The stream of flames hits Klefki and it then stopped glowing that white color. It dropped to the ground and it too fainted.
"Klefki is unable to battle, Growlithe wins," said the ref.
"I wasn't expecting something that quick, that Growlithe of yours is well trained, but don't take anything away from the last two pokemon I have. Return Klefki and go Slurpuff," said Kayla.
"I don't take anything for granted. I'm also sticking with my Growlithe here as well," replied Brady.
"Slurpuff use play rough,"
"Growlithe use flamethrower,"
Growlithe readied his third stream of flames and sent them right at Slurpuff. Slurpuff ran right at it and then opened her mouth and sent a pink wind right at the stream of flames.
"What that didn't look like play rough?" asked Brady.
"It wasn't Brady that was fairy wind," replied Kayla.
"I thought you said play rough not fairy wind," said Brady.
"I did, but when it comes to pokemon its wise to always rely on their instincts they are just as wise and smart as us, if they feel the attack is wrong they have every right to change it just like my Slurpuff did," replied Kayla.
"I have to remember that," commented Brady.
"So Slurpuff use energy ball,"
"Growlithe use bite on the attack,"
Slurpuff opened her mouth and made a green ball of energy in front of it. She then sent it at Growlithe who was running right at it. He then bite down on the attack and it exploded in his mouth. This sent Growlithe flying back at his trainer.
"Slurpuff use play rough now,"
Slurpuff ran at the recovering Growlithe, she then started throwing fits and kicking Growlithe. Once she was done playing with the Puppy Pokemon he was left laying on the ground in front of Brady.
"Growlithe is unable to battle, Slurpuff wins," said the ref.
"Return Growlithe and go Swinub," said Brady.
"So your third pokemon is Swinub an interesting you brought to face me. You do know that Slurpuff here does have a fire type attack in her arsenal," said Kayla.
"Swinub use dig,"
"Slurpuff wait it out till the pokemon pops up then use flamethrower,"
Swinub dug deep underground. Slurpuff looked around the arena waiting for Swinub to pop up. She was very vigilante she was constantly looking around.
"Swinub now,"
Swinub dug up right underneath Slurpuff. She didn't react quick enough sending her into the air.
"Swinub use ice beam,"
While Slurpuff was in the air, Swinub sent a rigid beam of ice right at Slurpuff. The rigid beam nailed Slurpuff and she went higher into the air. Slurpuff fell right back into the ground face first.
"Slurpuff is unable to battle, Swinub wins," said the ref.
"It looks like I'm down to my last pokemon, but she wont let me down. Return Slurpuff and go Sylveon," said Kayla.
"I like my odds here so I'm sticking with Swinub here," replied Brady.
"Sylveon use moonblast,"
"Swinub use dig again,"
Swinub quickly dug underground to avoid any attack from her Sylveon. Sylveon stopped her attack.
"Swinub now dig up right under her,"
"Sylveon jump into the air and send a moonblast at Swinub,"
Sylveon was quick on her feet and she jumped into the air just before Swinub dug up. Sylveon quickly readied an ball of pink energy in front of her mouth and sent it down at Swinub. The attack nailed him in the face and sent him back into his hole. Swinub popped out of the hole a few minutes later.
"Sylveon now use..." said Kayla before she stopped and looked at Swinub who was now glowing.
"Swinub is evolving," commented Brady.
Swinub got taller and grew out more fur. His fur now covered his eyes. He grew two tusks near his mouth. His brown fur was more shaggy then before.
"So you now have Piloswine," said Kayla.
"Yes I do and I can win the battle with him," replied Brady.
"That doesn't change anything. Sylveon use moonblast,"
Piloswine didn't wait for a command he just started to charge at Sylveon. He took the pink ball like it was nothing and he kept going. He kept going till he hit Sylveon with his tusks send her flying back right near her trainer and like the other three pokemon she too had fainted.
"Sylveon is unable to battle, Piloswine wins, Brady is the winner," said the ref.
"Well when it came time to finish this battle your Swinub knew when the right time to evolve was. Your battling was good and I'm glad to hand you this," said Kayla handing Brady the Pixie Badge.
Kayla looked up and over at Emma. Emma knew this look it was the look of that she will not be able to battle today.
"Before you get ready young lady I'm sorry but I need some rest so you and I will have to battle tomorrow morning. I'm really sorry to do this," said Kayla.
"Its fine," replied Emma.
Brady joined Emma and Katie up in the bleachers. The three of them left after that back to the Pokemon Center.
(In the Pokemon Center)
Once they walked inside they noticed everyone gathered around the TV. The three of them walked over to the Nurse.
"So what has everyone's attention?" asked Katie to the Nurse.
"Well mam everyone is waiting on a big announcement from Jenifer Morgan the Pokemon League Commissioner," replied the Nurse.
"What she expected to announce?" asked Katie.
"Most are assuming that she is announcing that our region's Champion will be battling one of the best this region has to offer," replied the Nurse.
Katie, Brady and Emma all walked over to the TV and stood behind the couch to hear that announcement. The news station that was on went live to DC in front of the League Headquaters. The whole Pokemon Center fell quiet.

"Good afternoon everyone. My name is Jenifer Morgan and I'm the League Commissioner. As many of you already know the League is closed till next year because of events that have happened which has scattered Andrew and his elite four to various locations within the US. This doesn't mean that Andrew will not be battling for his title. So mark your calendars for November 28th, when Andrew Hanson our Champion will be battling Hector Ramos. Hector has battled and beaten all of the elite four and has earned the right to face Andrew. He now will get his chance at Andrew. I will now take some questions," said Jen.
Up first was a news reporter from California.
"Does Andrew know that he will be facing Hector?" asked the reporter.
"Yes, I have made it aware to Andrew that he will be facing him," replied Jen.
Up next was a reporter from Hector's home state of New York.
"How will Hector fare against Andrew?" asked that reporter.
"Andrew like any challenge will be ready to face him," replied Jen.
And last was a reporter from Nashville.
"How ready is Andrew to face a guy like Hector?" asked that reporter.
"This is more of a question to ask him. He'll be taking questions over Skype later this week so stay tuned for that," replied Jen before she walked off.
(Back in the Pokemon Center)
"Well there you have it ladies and gentlemen. Andrew will infact be facing Hector Ramos. If you don't know who Hector is stay tuned and I'll be interviewing him right after this commercial," said the TV reporter.
Many of the people in front of the TV left after hearing the announcement, some stayed to hear about Hector. The commercial ended and the reporter on the TV was now sitting on a couch with a taller man. He had black hair, he was muscular and fit. He had a T-shirt on that said four time state champion, he also had a pair of blue jeans and white sneakers.
"So Hector tell those watching who exactly you are?" asked the reporter.
"My name is Hector Ramos. As you can see I'm a four time State Champion. I won my first State Champion at the age of 11 on the beginners level. Two years later I went on to win the Intermediate level. A year and a half after that I won the Advanced Level. And last but not least three years after that I won the Masters Level. I have participated twice in the Champions Cup. Once finishing 3rd and then finishing 5th," replied Hector.
"So why do you want to become Champion?" asked the reporter.
"Let's face it Andrew Hanson is not the greatest Champion. If this was a year ago would we actually know this nobody that we call a Champion. No, we wouldn't he isn't a true Champion he has no lineage. Look at his family, he has an older brother that wasn't the greatest trainer he became a professor. His dad is another story he is a failure. His sister and mom were both coordinators, yes they were successful but not in battling. Lets start at my younger sister she has just won the Beginners Level in the state of New York. My dad was extremely close to becoming Champion, he was one battle away from it. Same with my mom," replied Hector.
"How do you beat someone as unpredictable as Andrew?" asked the reporter.
"He isn't that hard figure out. In my opinion he is rather easy to beat. He isn't as unpredictable as many people make him out be. My team of six will beat any combo of six Andrew can bring," replied Hector.
"What about his two mega pokemon?" asked the reporter.
"No, Pokemon is unbeatable they all have a weakness. Any one of them he uses will not win him the battle against me. He will lose and will badly," replied Hector.
"Why are you so confident?" asked the reporter.
"I'm possibly the best trainer in the US region. Why wouldn't I be confident. That simple," replied Hector.
"Any final thoughts?" asked the reporter.
"Yes I do. This is a message to Andrew Hanson. Enjoy the time you have left because come the 28th you wont be Champion any longer. You will be an after thought and forgotten Champion. All that people will remember him by is the loser that ran the US to the ground. I mean he made threats to a company that provide working jobs to many in the US in the form of Seraph Co. Once I become Champion they will have my full support. Unlike you Andrew I will be able to easily sniff out Team Darkness and bring them down. Well my Andrew I look forward to kicking your a** on the 28th," said Hector standing up and walking off.
Katie had walked out of the Pokemon Center shortly after Hector finished talking. She was going to call Andrew and tell him.
(Phone Call)
"Hello Katie," said Andrew.
"Hi," replied Katie.
"Let me guess your calling about that interview Hector just gave," said Andrew.
"Yeah did you here him?" asked Katie.
"Yes I did and my rebuttal will come later this week you don't have to worry about that. I'm not nervous about facing him because my lucky charm will be in the front row anyway," replied Andrew.
"You're inviting Hailey to watch the match," said Katie.
"No silly you will be in the front row. I'm never nervous when your there so I'll be more than ready to face him," replied Andrew.
"I get to be in the front row," said Katie.
"Yes you do. If it becomes and issue I'll come get you the day before," replied Andrew.
"You know it wont be an issue I'll be there and rooting for," said Katie.
"So I'll talk to you later I have some stuff to do before I get some sleep," said Andrew hanging up.
"Good night Andrew," said Katie hanging up.
(Back at the Pokemon Center)
Katie walked back in and walked upstairs and joined the other two. They spent the rest of the day resting. Tomorrow they will be leaving directly from the gym heading to the next town.
There you have the next Chapter is here. So I know its been yet another month but this month I'll try and update weekly. Anyway Andrew will be facing his toughest challenge yet.
