(That Night)

Andrew and Katie grabbed their jackets and ran downstairs. The Nurse was in a panic as the whole Pokemon Center was in the dark. The only lights was the flashlights Andrew and Katie had that Andrew grabbed from his backpack. They walked over to the Nurse.

"What happened?" asked Andrew.

"I don't know. One moment we were all lit up and the next we are in the dark. The backup generator should be kicking on any minute but I don't know," replied the Nurse.

"Keep the injured pokemon calm and I'll go check on the rest of the city," said Andrew.

Andrew and Katie walked back up the stairs and got dressed. Andrew grabbed his pokeballs from the drawer and ran down the stiars again with Katie right behind him.

"Katie stay here and help the nurse keep the pokemon calm I'll be back soon," said Andrew.

"No, I'm coming with you," replied Katie.

"Katie I don't want you getting hurt so please stay. I don't even know what the hell is going on right now," said Andrew.

"Fine Andrew, please just stay safe," replied Katie.

"I will be fine trust me," said Andrew before leaving the Pokemon Center.

(Outside the Pokemon Center)

Andrew looked around the city and saw everything was pitch black. He looked up into the sky and then he saw it again. The light show was there the sky started red

"This has to be a sign of things to come I just know it," said Andrew to himself.

A group of onlookers walk over to him once they noticed he was outside.

"What is happening Champ?" One asked.

Andrew didn't know how to answer them as he didn't know how to explain the light show. The light show was still confusing to him just as much as the many others who have seen it. More and more people started to walk over to him in hope of answers. The sky turned from red to blue just as quick. It got cold and then this high pitch sound was heard. If forced everyone to cover their ears. Then there was this green blurr in the sky and the whole sky turned green. Quickly after the sky turned green it turned back to black and the power was restored.

"Everyone please listen to me. Please go back to your home and check everything. The Pokemon League will have a statement on what has happened later," stated Andrew.

The group surrounding Andrew slowly dispersed back tot their homes. Andrew shut off his flashlight and walked back over to the Pokemon Center. Katie and the Nurse were both standing around waiting for Andrew to come back.

(Back Inside the Pokemon Center)

Before he could start talking to them everything slowed down and eventually froze around him. Now standing in the Pokemon Center was the Guru and his Mewtwo.

"What does the lights mean Guru?" asked Andrew.

"All in due time Andrew let's wait for the others to arrive," replied the Guru.

A moment later now standing in the same Pokemon Center was Dan and Mika.

"Now that you all are here let me explain what is happening," said the Guru

Andrew looked at the other two before looking back at the Guru.

"As you all know this world is in grave danger as Team Darkness holds the two orbs. If you three haven't already noticed the lights in the sky are specific colors. These colors are red, blue and green," said the Guru.

"Yeah we have seen that already," stated Dan.

"Well these colors represent something. Each color is very specific to a certain Pokemon that the orbs have power to awaken," said the Guru.

"Yeah I figured that. Red means Groudon and blue means Kyorge. All I'm confused about is the green color," replied Andrew.

"That will be explained all in due time Andrew. You must understand that the colors are a way the world can tell everyone that something bad is going to be happening. All the mega ring holders as well as many others in this world needs to be ready for such an event," said the Guru.

"The event you are talking about is the awakening of the Legendary pokemon," replied Mika.

"It could be. We must not forget there are many threats in this world that you Andrew will see first hand," said the Guru.

Andrew thought about that for a moment. A lot has happened since he became Champion it easily be any one of those moments.

"I have already started to take steps to address many of these concerns," replied Andrew.

"No matter how well prepared one maybe, but there's always the chance of failure. Accepting failure is a true test not just for you Andrew, but for all of you. The outcome maybe the same but you are not only the problem but also the solution," said the Guru.

The other three look at each for a moment then look back at the Guru who had his eyes closed. He looked like he was deep in thought, he was always deep in thought though.

"A problem has many solutions the answer may not be clear as of yet but it usually does become clear when you need it too. We must not forgot our morals they are what keep us together, they are what keep most of you going and I hope you all can overcome the challenge in front of you and come out successful. So till our next meeting stay safe and stay aware trouble always lurks around the corner," said the Guru before vanishing.

Moments after the guru vanished so did Mika and Dan. Time slowly returned to normal and was back in the well lit Pokemon Center. Andrew looked around for a moment and then looks over at Katie. No matter how many times the Guru stops time Andrew is still not use to it returning to normal like it just did. Katie walks over to Andrew

"What happened Andrew?" Katie asked.

"The lights in the sky," replied Andrew.

"Not again. What do they mean?" Katie asked.

"At this point I can only assume that they are a sign of events to come," replied Andrew.

"If they are then it has to be a bad sign," said Katie.

"I'm going to make you a promise Katie. Its the same promise I made this region before I became Champion. No matter what happens I will protect from everything thrown at you. I will go to war for you if that is what it takes," replied Andrew.

"Isn't there another part of that if I remember your speech at your inauguration," said Katie.

"Yeah there is but I don't need to say that part," replied Andrew.

"The part you left out is you will die protecting this region," said Katie.

"Yeah that would be the part but Katie I won't need to retort to dieing for you as I would do all in my power to prevent that," replied Andrew.

Katie didn't say anything she just hugged him. Andrew looked at her and smiled. He has proven to everyone that he is a man of his word and he intends to keep his word to Katie.

"We have a lot to do later on today so we best return to bed now," said Andrew.

Katie and Andrew walked back upstairs Katie lays back in bed while Andrew lays looking at the ceiling he was thinking about what the Guru had just told him. He looked over at Katie who was out cold and smiled he then finally drifted off to sleep.

(The Next Morning)

Katie was up first like always. She got out of bed and saw Andrew still sleeping. She smiled grabbed her bag and walked into the bathroom to change. Andrew was slowly waking up as she was in the bathroom. He gets out of bed and stretches his legs. Katie walks out of the bathroom and sees Andrew awake. She was in long sleeves and a heavier jacket as well as jeans and winter snow boots.

"Good Morning Andrew," said Katie.

"Same to you Katie," replied Andrew.

"Its going to be a cold one today so I suggest you dress warm," said Katie.

"Thanks I'll dress warm then." replied Andrew.

Andrew grabbed his backpack and went into the bathroom and got changed quickly. He came back out in a hoodie still with a long sleeve underneath he had jeans on as well as a beanie not his typical baseball cap. Andrew and Katie walked down to the lower level of the Pokemon Center. They both ate quickly and went on their way.

(Outside the Pokemon Center)

Andrew and Katie stood around waiting on Andrew to call out his Flygon as it is their means of transportation to the next city. Andrew called out Flygon and climbed on then helped Katie on. Flygon kicked off the ground and into the air.

(In the Air)

Katie was holding onto Andrew as they sped through the sky. No matter how many times she flies on him she is still surprised on how fast he is.

"So Katie you ready to take on the next gym leader?" asked Andrew.

"Yeah we all are but isn't there something you have to do first while your here," replied Katie.

"Actually I'm dropping you off then I'm heading to LA to announce the new gym leader. Then I'll be back to teach at the trainer's school for a day. Then I'm back to DC so you can imagine I'm a rather busy person," said Andrew.

"So who is the new gym again?" asked Katie.

"His name is Fran Sabado he was at one time retired but returned to take over the gym again. He'll be the new water Pokemon leader," repied Andrew.

"You have a lot of faith in him don't you?" Katie asked.

"I do he like I said was once a gym leader he knows what it takes to bring prestige back to the 16th gym," replied Andrew.

(In Salt Lake City)

Shortly after that was said Andrew and Katie landed in Salt Lake City in front of the Pokemon Center. Inside was her sister and Brady waiting for her. They both climbed off Flygon and looked at each other. Katie was standing in the door way of the Pokemon Center and Andrew was near Flygon.

"Good luck on your gym badge and I'll see you when I get back here in a couple days," said Andrew.

"Never did ask. Why are you coming back here?" Katie asked.

"Well I was asked by the teacher at the local trainer school to come in and bring inspiration to the students there. So what better way than to show and talk," replied Andrew.

"Andrew, you make things so simple is funny," laughed Katie.

"Well I'll see you later," said Andrew climbing back on Flygon.

Flygon slowly pulls off the ground Katie stands there in the doorway and waves bye to him. Andrew now must set his sights on LA to welcome Fran as the next 16th gym leader. It was an hour flight before landing in LA.

(In LA)

Andrew looked around taking the sight in. Its been a while since he as been in LA. His friend Warren and his Lucario Hiro walked over to him.

"Hey Andrew long time no see," said Warren.

"Yeah its been awhile," replied Andrew calling back Flygon.

"Your Commissioner is already here she's talking to my dad at my sister's restaurant in Torrance. I thought I'd way for you here to show up before we head there," said Warren.

"I kind of figured Jen would be here before me. If it wasn't for her I wouldn't be half as organized as I am. Jen is the backbone of the Pokemon League," replied Andrew.

"She works a hundred miles a minute," joked Warren.

"She doesn't have the easiest job in the world. She has to control the actions the League takes as a whole and I'm not always the easiest person to work with," replied Andrew.

After walking for short distance, Andrew and Warren came to the gym. It was set up like it should be there was a stage set up in front of the door, there was four seats set up on that stage and more was on the cement in front of the gym looking at the stage. The stage was set for the introduction ceremony for Fran. Andrew and Warren took a seat and there and just waited.

"Andrew do you mind if I pick your brain a bit?" asked Warren.

"Sure Warren," replied Andrew.

"Why do you want to be a Champion?" asked Warren.

"Warren that's a two sided question my friend. As you see I find it a pivotal to help train the next great trainers, and as Champion I am responsible to test those trainer to push them. The last part is I love being able to go from place to place and past down what made me who I am. If I wasn't a champion I wouldn't have everyone listening to what I am saying. The bad part though is all the criticism that comes with it," replied Andrew.

"I don't think I ever asked this but why do you constantly change out your pokemon?" asked Warren.

"I change my team out to avoid complacency. It doesn't matter who I have with me I have complete faith in them to get the job done," replied Andrew.

A few minutes later Jen and Warren's father Fran shows up. Andrew walks over to him and shakes his hand.

"Andrew can I talk to for a few minutes before we get this show on the way?" asked Jen.

"Yeah we can," replied Andrew.

Andrew walked off leaving Warren and his father to talk.

"So what's on your mind Jen?" asked Andrew.

"Not much wanted to make sure your ready," replied Jen.

"I'm always ready you have nothing to worry about. My speech is written and beside that the only other thing to worry about is my match at the end of the month which I'm more than ready for," said Andrew.

"Ok then let's head back and get everything ready for the the announcement," replied Jen.

Andrew and Jen walk back to the stage that has been set up. The news crews have already arrived and were setting everything up. Warren and Fran were talking amongst themselves. Some more of Fran's family has also arrived for this occasion. There was a rather large crowd for such a small occasion. Jen and Andrew took a seat on the stage set up. Fran said by to Warren who took a seat in the front row with Hiro in the seat next to him. The news reporters started to talk just as the mayor of LA walks up to the podium.

"Good morning my fellow Los Angeloins. Today marks a momentous occasion here in LA we are welcoming our home state boy here and he is here introduce our new gym leader. Before I hand it over to Andrew there is a few things I would like to say. LA has always been home for a gym leader and I'm grateful that the Pokemon League recognized this fine city. We are home to many great things and this is one of those. I'm proud to stand here and introduce you all to our Champion. So without wasting another minute it is my pleasure to introduce the home state boy Andrew Hanson," said the Mayor.

Andrew stands up and walks over to the Mayor they shake hands and then the mayor took his seat. Andrew walks up to the podium.

"I look out into the crowd an excitement that I had when I arrived here some years ago. To this every time I step into this city that same feeling comes to me. When we set out to find a gym leader we wanted someone who would not only be willing to test a trainer but bring that joy that is expected from him. What I say in Fran is just that. He is willing to test but also have some fun. I look at Fran and I see someone who is what we at the League look for in such a gym leader. It brings me great pleasure to introduce the man that will be tasked with taking over this gym. Here is Fran Sabado," said Andrew.

Fran stands up to a crowd of people clapping for him. Fran walks over Andrew and they shake hands. Andrew then takes his seat leaving Fran at the podium.

"Well I guess its my turn. Not to take anything away from Andrew or our fine Mayor but I didn't have a speech prepared. So I thought what the hell let's just wing it. Now I am happy to be this city's gym leader. I at one time was once the leader here then retired and now I'm back and damn proud to be back. I don't care who you are I will battle you with my best. You could be my son in the front row or the young Champion behind me I'll give you my best. I look forward to battling everyone who steps into my gym. Well that's all I got so I guess I'll hand the podium to Jen," said Fran.

Jen walks up to the podium shakes Fran's hand and waited for him to take a seat. She then begun to speak.

"Once again let's hear for Fran," Jen paused before continuing. "We are happy to have finally found the gym leader we needed for this city. Fran will make all of you proud as well as us at the League proud. We have one of the most diverse collection of gym leaders around the US. I am glad to get the chance to work with all of you. Thank you LA for welcoming Andrew and I your fine city and enjoy the rest of your day," said Jen.

The Mayor, Jen, Andrew and Fran all left the stage set up in front of the gym. Fran walked over to his family members in the front row. Andrew and Jen left in a car same as the mayor.

(Later that Day)

Andrew joins Warren and Fran and Lisa's restaurant they all were celebrating the occasion. Lisa served everyone some food as everyone was eating Andrew received a phone call. It of course was Katie, he excused himself and walked outside.

"Hi Katie," said Andrew.

"Hiya Andrew. Thought I'd call and tell you that everyone here saw you introduce Fran as the gym leader. For a 16th gym leader he sounds like a good pick," replied Katie.

"I did my job then, Jen asked me to make sure I talked him up. I didn't really have to though as he was more than qualified for the job," said Andrew.

"Good I can't wait to face him when we finally make it there," replied Katie.

"He's not going to be easy," said Andrew.

"I'll be ready. And I can't wait to see you again," replied Katie.

"I'll be back into town tomorrow," said Andrew.

"I better let you go then I'll see you tomorrow," said Katie hanging up.

Andrew walks back into the the restaurant and continued to eat his meal. They stayed there till closing. Fran headed home while Andrew and Warren went on a walk. It was an idea of Warren's as he wanted to talk to Andrew again.

"Andrew how do you do it?" Warren asked.

"To be honest with ya I don't even know. I am a very busy person but I manage to be where I am needed. Tomorrow I'll be back in Salt Lake City. Speaking of it why don't you come as well," replied Andrew.

"Why?" Warren asked.

"Well I'm teaching a class of students at a local trainer's school and I think it might do you some good to come in and listen. It would be a great learning experience to you," replied Andrew.

"I think I will go and check it out then," said Warren.

"I look forward to seeing you there then my friend," replied Andrew.

They continued their walk till they reached the park. Once at the park the two of them took a seat on the bench. Before either of them could speak a mysterious figure appears out of the dark. Both of them stand up ready to confront this person.

"I mean the two of you no harm. I am here to warn you Andrew," said the mysterious person.

"Warn me of what?" Andrew shot back.

"If you must know there will be two attacks by Team Darkness. One will be those who hold close and the other will be on those close to Hawaii," said the mysterious person.

"What?!" Andrew said shocked.

The mysterious person left Andrew confused and troubled about what he had heard. Warren stood up and walked over to Andrew.

"Let me help you," said Warren.

"The people in Hawaii can handle the problem that they will face. I'll head to Salt Lake City and check on my friends," replied Andrew.

"I'll come with you and help," said Warren.

"Ok, let's go then," replied Andrew.

Andrew called out his Flygon and Warren called out his Charizard. They both took off in the direction of Salt Lake City.

(Salt Lake City)

They arrived an hour later in front of the Pokemon Center. Andrew walked inside and went looking for Katie, but he couldn't find her. After not seeing her or her friends it hit him that they are in trouble. Andrew ran back outside.

"Warren go find two people by the name of Brady and Emma. They would be in trouble. I'm going to go find Katie. Once we help them meet back here," said Andrew flying off on Flygon.
