Chapter 45: Wife.

It had been three weeks. Three weeks, and Jaime and Gregory hadn't showed up. Wayne was a mess. Ally was a nervous wreck. Everyone was on edge. Mike was causing a fuss with everyone, and Mimi was actually trying to get to know everyone, but her husband kind of dampened everyone's mood.

Ally was sat on the swing on the porch of the farmhouse. Sarah was rubbing her stomach next to her, and playing with the contraption on her stump. Ally began to chew on her thumb, nervously looking around the farm.

"Do you think..." Sarah spoke up and Ally looked at her. "It doesn't matter."

"No, what is it?" Ally urged her to continue.

"Do you think that they might have actually run away together..." She looked at Ally with sadness on her face. "Quite a few people have mentioned it now, and...I just can't help, but think that-"

"They haven't run away," Ally replied. "They wouldn't do that."

"Sorry, I didn't mean to offend you," She whispered.

"You haven't...I get it, I know people are doubting that they're still alive, but it's fine, it's there opinion," Ally explained, and Sarah smiled.

"Do you reckon I'm going to be a good mom?" She asked, and Ally nodded her head.

"There's no doubt in my mind," She replied.

"I told Dean that I don't think I'll be good at it, and he told me to shut the fuck up and go to sleep," Sarah rubbed her hand over her bump, and Ally laughed.

"He's right. I know it's hard to get the bad thoughts out of your head when they pop up, but ignore them. Dean cares about you, and I know it kills him every single time you bring yourself down, especially about you not having a hand. He loves you for being you, isn't that enough?"

"It's hard to let someone love you, when you don't love yourself," She whimpered her bottom lip quivering.

"Sarah," Ally hugged her, and she cried into her neck.

"I'm sorry. It's the stupid pregnancy hormones," She cried, and Ally shook her head.

"It's okay," Ally rubbed a soothing hand up and down her back. She looked out at the yard, and saw Austin pull up on the dirt road in the truck. He stormed out of it, slamming the door shut behind him. Sarah jumped at the sound, and looked back at him.

"Go to him. He needs you," Sarah wiped her tears away, and Ally flashed her a smile, then ran down the porch steps after Austin.

Ally followed him into their cabin, and he began to throw things around, and stomp all over the place. She looked down at the item in his hands and her eyes widened. It was a bloody shirt. It was Gregory's.

"Austin, calm down," Ally grabbed his arm, and pulled him towards her. "Austin, look at me," He narrowed his eyes at her, and she reached up and cupped his face. "It's okay."

"It's Gregory's shirt, covered in creeper blood. Nothing about that is good," He seethed through gritted teeth. Ally hesitated, and she took the shirt from his hand. She stared down at it blankly, then looked back up at him.

"You're right...it's not good, but I can't tell Wayne this...it'll kill him...if something has happened to Gregory, then Jaime would've come back...she'd come back to her dad," Ally let her tears fall and he wiped them away. "I...I...I...I think I'm gonna' be sick."

Ally ran past Austin, and into the bathroom in their bedroom. She threw up into the toilet, and Austin grabbed her hair to keep it out of the way. He ran a soothing hand down her back, then sat down next to her. She wiped her mouth with the back of her hand, then looked at him, her bottom lip quivering.

"I don't know what I was expecting..." She whimpered. "I can't keep everyone I love...I've been pushing the doubts to the back of my mind for weeks now, but I hate myself for even thinking that they're dead, but let's face it. They probably are...but it's hurting Wayne...h-how do I-I t-tell him?"

"You don't have too," He tucked her hair behind her ears. "We don't assume they're dead, until we find their bodies."

"I'm scared, after the arm we found out in the woods...I have a feeling that the farm isn't safe anymore," She clung to the front of his shirt, and he kissed her forehead.

"I can't promise you that I'll find them alive, but I promise you I'll find out what happened to them," She nodded her head, then buried her face into the crook of his neck.

"Jaime doesn't deserve this. Her dad loves her to pieces, but her mom...she doesn't even care that she's missing, and it makes me sick. I could never act like that if it was one of our kids missing, it would kill me," She cried, and Austin held her tighter.

"Ally," He whispered. "I love you."

"I love you too."

...

Kira was away from everyone. It felt like miles, but it was only a few fields away. She was chopping wood on the stump of a tree. She was doing her best to help the group as much as she can. She wanted to earn her place here.

She swung the axe high up in the air, then it split the wood in half. She place the wood on top of the pile she had already chopped, then grabbed the next block of wood. She glanced at the old barn next to her, and she thought to herself how that could be her place to get away.

She wasn't a fan of being around everyone, especially when they all ignored her, but she didn't mind, karma was just being a big old bitch. She swung the axe hard, and let out a frustrated yell, then added the wood to the pile.

"No one asked you to do that," Ronny walked through the gate, and she looked back at him.

"I'm just doing what I can," She replied.

"It's fine," He took the axe from her hand, and she tried to swipe it back, but failed.

"I just want to help," She said, and he seemed to be trying to read her mind with his eyes. "What?"

"Are you still trying to earn you place in the group?" He asked.

"How did you know that?" She wondered, and he laughed.

"I'm not blind," He retorted, and her gaze fell to the ground. "You can relax here. We protect our own the best we can."

"I'm hardly one of your own," She kept her eyes glued to the grass, and he laughed again.

"You saved Nathan," He reminded her, and she finally looked at him. "You earned your place when you did that. I also know that you helped Jaime escape when she had been kidnapped."

"How did you know that?"

"Jaime talks, and she defends you if anyone even tries to say anything bad about you. She's protecting her own, and I know she's out there with Gregory," He explained. "C'mon, I'll help you carry the wood to the cabins," He picked up and armful with his huge arms, and Kira picked up the rest, following closely behind him.

...

Ally sniffed, and a horrible rotten smell filled her nostrils. She looked over at the trees, and pulled her knife from her belt. Austin was still inside the cabin looking after Nathan, and she wanted to go and find Wayne, just to see if he was alright.

She knew he would be hiding in one of the barns, but the horrible smell coming from the woods was making her route change. She walked into the woods, and followed the smell, probably not her brightest idea.

Ally glanced around cautiously, maybe I should go back. She looked back over her shoulder, and in the distance she could see the cabins by the barn. She took a step forwards, but she heard the click of a gun behind her.

Ally's feet turned inwards slightly, her heels digging into the ground. She clung onto her knife like she was going to die if she let go. In the distance she could see Jess playing with Nevil and Billy in a patch of tall grass.

"It would be a shame if one of them was to die?" The voice was mocking, and she could tell he was smiling. "Turn around."

Ally obeyed, and she slowly turned around to face the man. He looked rough, scary, terrifying. The gun was aimed at her head, and she swallowed the lump in the back of her throat.

"Drop the knife," He ordered, and she shook her head. He stepped closer and the end of the gun touched her forehead. "Now," Ally let go of the knife, and it landed on the ground with a thud. "Come with me."

"No," Ally's voice was weak, and he smirked.

"I wasn't giving you a choice," He growled, and she opened her mouth to scream, but he hit her over the head with the gun, which knocked her to the ground. Ally grabbed the side of her face, and stared up at him in horror. "I'm taking you back to see my family. The boys are going to like you. Stand up," Ally scrambled to her feet, ignoring the dizziness. "Don't scream, or try to run, because I've got men in these woods, who can shoot your kids before you can blink. Now move!" He pushed the gun into her back, urging her to walk forwards, and she did as she was told. Ally glanced back at the retreating cabins, and her family began to disappear into the distance.

"What do you want?" Ally asked as they got deeper into the woods.

"I'm hungry."

"Cannibals," She gasped, and he laughed.

"Of course," He seemed so proud of himself, and it made Ally feel sick. "But, I'm not going to be eating you. My boys might though."

Ally shivered, and she blinked away the tears in her eyes.

"My wife needs a friend," He said, and Ally stopped, looking back at him.

"Who would want to marry you?" She growled, and he beamed at her.

"For all you know I might be a nice man," He retorted. "Now, keep walking," He pushed the end of the gun harder into her back, and she stumbled forward, continuing her journey.

After ten minutes of walking in silence. They stepped out into a huge clearing. There was a massive warehouse, surrounded by a metal fence. He pulled out a key from his pocket, and slid the gate open. He pushed her in, and she walked along the gravel. There was a red door up ahead, and it soon slid open, and four men walked out.

"Got us some fresh meat, boss?" One of them smirked, and Ally recoiled away.

"This ones for my wife. If she doesn't want her, then she's all yours," He laughed, and smacked one of them on the back. He pushed Ally inside the warehouse, and they walked down the corridor. Ally saw the big room up ahead, and she was pushed into it.

"Wife. I've got a friend for you," He kept pushing her closer to the woman who had her back to her, and Ally felt her body tremble. The woman got up from the table, and turned around. Ally gasped. Her face was cut, and bruised. Her body was covered in lashes from a whip. She was just skin a bones.

"Jaime."
