Thanks so much for waiting

Clary's eyes fluttered open a tall, muscular figure loomed over her. His dark eyes searching her face as he clutched at her hand desperately to his chest.

"Oh Clary." His voice was soft. "I am so sorry" Clary glanced at Jonathan in confusion and then at the rest of the room, her eyes came to rest on a small child with familiar green eyes. It was as though staring at a reflection of herself but instead of the fiery mess atop of her head perfect white ringlets that fell around the small child's chubby heart-shaped face.

The child stared back with equal interest and intensity. Jonathan's eyes flittered between them nervously. "Mother," the child's voice was soft and longing. Clary looked up at Jonathan in surprise, he returned her stare with a forced smile. Clary stared at the small girl in wonder. The girl had begun the fidget in her father's arms before letting out a pained cry.

"Lily, what's wrong?" Jonathan felt a sharp stabbing in his chest. Similar to the pain he felt when Clary had tried to abort their child. His little girl squirmed against muscular stomach and abdominal muscles. She leaning forward till her head touched her knees and moaned again. Jonathan reached over to brush his fingertips against her back softly lumps lay under her tee-shirt and she screamed at the contact. Jonathan gently pulled her shirt up over her small back.

Black limp feathered wings stretched and fluttered lightly on her back. She groaned again. "Fuck," realization struck Jonathan like a rock.

"Jon, what is it? What's wrong?" Clary's voice was panicky.

"I'd forgotten." He whispered softly to himself.

Clary, irritated at not being informed of the situation leaned over her lover and child. Clary looked at Lily's back in shock.

"Wings?" Clary's eyes were fixated on the small black appendages sprouting from the girl's back.

"Hmm. I had them too," Clary's eyes turned to Jonathan's widening in surprise.

"Father… he cut them. Well ripped them from my back." Jonathan' s eyes clouded over, remembering.
