[Izaya's POV]

"Would you stop that?" Namie snapped from across the room, scowl on her face as she looked at the ravenett currently working on his third major assignment. Izaya looked up for a second in surprise but still frowned tiredly.

"Stop what?"

"Your typing. I dunno what you're so pissed about but don't break your keyboard over it." his assistant explained, raising a brow at the fact he didn't notice he was typing harder than usual.

"Nothing's bothering me, this is how I type." Izaya disregarded, going back to what he was doing and zoning out once more while he worked until there was something thrown at him, then another, both landing in his hair. He let out a breath, trying his best to be patient and ignore her so she would go away but when the tenth one landed in his raven locks he finally looked up again, this time with a full on scowl. "Namie, you're going to be fired if you do that one more time." he threatened, now seeing her eyes widen in surprise at the tone.

Sure, there was always a threat of being fired between them, they were boss and employee after all, but he'd never once had to verbally remind her. They looked at each other for a moment before Izaya scanned over what was in front of him, now trying to pull the paper-clips out of his hair as he did so.

"Izaya, seriously. Something's up with you so just say it." Namie persisted again, this time verbally as she walked up to him with a coffee cup in hand just half an hour after their first incident. He took it from her and ignored her again as he drank it, really feeling like he needed it now that it was going on midnight on a Friday night and he didn't feel like he'd accomplished anything. "Izaya!"

The shout was the last straw and he almost slammed his cup down, trying to calm down the irritation going through him as he looked up at her. "I'm trying to get work done and I'm tired, you aren't helping. That's what's up, now go do your job or leave." he ordered, not even looking away from her yet when Namie had suddenly closed his laptop on him, almost snapping it on his fingers.

You're so lucky that auto-saves…

Namie waited patiently for him to say something, gaze accusing as they stared at each other. When he refused to give her what she wanted, she tried beginning. "You're stressed, and a lot more than usual. What's wrong?" she asked again, this time making herself sound more caring. Don't try to guilt me Namie, it never works and it's just annoying. he thought to himself, looking away from her and over at his coffee mug instead as he rubbed his temples, feeling a headache forming. There was silence for almost 15 minutes as Namie and Izaya both persisted on their own sides, the informant just taking it as a chance for a break until he finally couldn't stand not working and not doing something fun at the same time, finally breaking down.

"I'm just frustrated. I've been working whenever I get the chance, even when you aren't here and still have a lot to do. I've hit a wall in this assignment and only have another two weeks to do it along with all my other assignments and I haven't been able to spend time with Kasuka very much because of it." Izaya spilled out, his voice level but quiet as he tried to make Namie only be able to catch about half of it. Annoying Namie was one of his favorite pass-times after all, it was worth a shot to try and cheer himself up, but sadly for them both it didn't work. Luckily, however, Namie had better hearing than he anticipated.

Namie went over what he said for a second before finally leaning on his desk casually, crossing her arms in front of herself. "Why didn't you say so in the first place?" she asked him, getting another silence from him as he fiddled with one of the paper-clips still in his hair, which refused to cooperate about letting go of the small knot it had caught on. "Have you been eating?" Another silence. "I know you haven't been sleeping-"

"You sound just like him." Izaya suddenly snapped, the stress that had caused his headache now feeling more pressing as he was forced to push off the source. He tried to calm himself down, his assistant was just trying to keep him healthy, along with his boyfriend who was sending him periodic texts throughout the day that would help him momentarily before he got back to work. But he couldn't feel happy about it. If I don't get this done then I'll have to cancel on him again and then it'll be awkward. I almost never say no to him about dates and it's been a while since our last one too. I hate this..

"Izaya." He glanced up for a second. "Just go upstairs and sleep for a while. I'll stay up and wake you in an hour or two, alright?" Namie suggested, arms still folded in front of herself since she hadn't moved since Izaya had spoken up a few moments ago. The informant just watched her in disbelief for a second before he glanced at the coffee in front of him, seeing it was still full.

"Just let me work until I fin-"

"I'll keep it in the microwave for you." his assistant interrupted rudely, whacking him on the back of the head just before she picked up said cup and walked away with it again. Izaya rubbed his head for a second as he groaned.

"You know I only like coffee fresh."

"You'll take whatever I fucking give you, now get upstairs and go to sleep!"

"Theeere's the darling I know and love~!" Izaya shouted back to her, half way on the stairs. He sprinted the rest of the way up and into his room when the she-beast came running out to whack him on the head again for his nickname, effectively locking himself up in his room until she had calmed down then unlocking it again just before he went over to his bed and collapsed on it. Within a few minutes he was already dead asleep, stress of the last few boyfriend-less days dripping away.

Chapter 68!

Half-filler, half-plot.

I just wanted to shove in some more Namie and Izaya bromance since I realized that Beato was right, they make like the best of friends despite all the bickering. They used to and still kind of do spend so much time together that if they did hate each other, one of them would definetly be long dead after all.

Stupid Iza-chan, you still need to take care of yourself, even if Kasu-kun isn't telling you!

I hope you all liked this chapter! Favorite, follow and review to see more!
