[Kasuka's POV]
This sucks… the actor thought to himself, spending another day alone on his weekend. It was already Sunday, and while Izaya had taken the time to text with him unlike yesterday, he still was hoping that they could have gone on an actual date together. I hope he's not lying about taking care of himself. I know he has his assistant there but she can only do so much… Maybe I should go over and see him anyways. If he's working as long as I think he is then his eyes must hurt by now.
Kasuka kept running through his thoughts for a few moments, wondering if it would really be worth it to go or not. If Namie wasn't there to open the door then he might be ignored once there, Izaya not wanting to check who it was, or Izaya would notice it was him and send him away since he was still busy. I wouldn't put it passed him… But, he did say that he missed me a lot. Even without me saying it first..
He examined his phone, which was currently silent, as he waited for another reply from the other. It was almost 6 in the afternoon already with no hints from Izaya that he was close to finishing what he was doing, the hopes of even having a late night date were quickly vanishing.
That's it, I'm going to visit him.
The actor pulled himself up, got ready to go and quickly left, asking Toren to drive him so he would be there more quickly.
Soon he was in front of his boyfriend's door, knocking politely as he waited for someone to open the door. There was a pause and he considered trying again in a few moments before the door finally opened, Namie standing in front of him. She looked peeved for a moment before she looked at him in surprise. "How did I know it would be you?" she asked softly, letting him open his mouth for a reply before she rolled her eyes and cut him off. "Come in and get him. I can make him sleep and eat but going outside is out of my hands." Namie told him, quietly now as he gestured for him to go inside.
The actor did as told and walked in, peaking around the corner of the entryway to see how his lover was doing first, grimacing slightly at the sight. Despite Izaya being rested, to his knowledge, the informant looked almost brain-dead where he sat, fingers running over the keys as he typed and eyes glued to the screen in front of him.
"Namie, who was it?" Izaya called to her when the door shut behind the actor, no reply being given and making him look up. Kasuka threw the other man a smile when he looked up to see him, pure surprise on his face before a smile crept in. "You didn't tell me you were coming over." the informant noted, glancing at the screen in front of him before standing to move closer for a hug. Kasuka gave him one without complaint, wrapping him up in his arms and nearly squeezing the life out of him before they finally separated again.
"I didn't want you to say no and stop me. And honestly if you did say no I wouldn't have listened." the ravenett admitted, pressing kisses to his lover's cheeks happily between talking. Izaya didn't protest but didn't kiss him back either, probably embarrassed already that Namie could see him receiving affection. The informant glanced back at Namie for a second before quickly, almost sneakily, pressing a kiss to his lips before pulling away.
"I'm sorry for ignoring you, I still have a lot-"
"I know, I know, you're super busy. But I'm here now so you can at least spare an hour, can't you?" Kasuka interrupted, eyes pleading him to agree when the other looked hesitant.
"I haven't made any progress in this one though…"
"That's because your brain is fried, give it a break. You've done more than enough this week from what I've seen."
"The week just started."
"You've done more than enough for a weekend then, just trust me. If you keep working like this you're going to make yourself sick, which will make me sick. Do you want me to get sick?" Kasuka prompted, challenging him now as Izaya rolled his eyes. There was a pause before the informant sighed softly.
"No, I don't want you to get sick.. You're already so over dramatic that caring for you would be torture." Kasuka just beamed anyway, moving closer and picking up his boyfriend, carrying him up the stairs himself and heading down the hall to Izaya's bedroom. "Hey!" the informant protested, blushing deeply.
"I promise we won't do anything indecent, Namie!" Kasuka called down to her before they went inside.
"I don't care if you do, just get that stick out of his ass already! I'd rather have him be a dick than a zombie." the assistant called back up to him, making him smile wider before shutting them both inside. Izaya was still blushing from being picked up but didn't protest at all when Kasuka started giving him more kisses, backing up with him until they were laying on the man's bed comfortably.
Kasuka was hovering over his boyfriend's body and remapping it with his hands after what felt like an eternity apart already. The informant gave back to him in return by trailing his lips over his jaw, neck, chest; after a couple teasing moments he went from kissing him to biting, something they'd found out the actor enjoyed almost too much in one of their late nights. Every touch that went between them was cherished and when they finally pulled apart just to stare at each other while they caught their breath, Kasuka couldn't help noticing that Izaya was holding onto him just a little too tight, his eyes pleading.
"I missed you so much.." Kasuka said first, reading it in his lover's gaze and not being one to force it out of him. The informant beneath him just gave a sigh of relief where he was before their kissing continued, this time starting out fast and sloppy only to slow down the longer they stayed close. They kissed with passion but knew it wasn't physical, neither putting in too much strength into what they were doing now and keeping it light, pulling apart more frequently to watch their partner's eyes than before.
"I missed you too..." Izaya finally said, once their kissing had slowed down to pecks and the two were cuddling more than mock fucking each other in their haste to be together again. "I thought you would be mad at me.."
"Of course I'm not mad at you." Kasuka muttered back, heart breaking for a second at seeing Izaya so honest about his fear. The informant looked away from him at first but was soon forced to look at him again, Kasuka holding his cheek lightly. "I'll never be mad at you for doing your job. I have no right to tell you to walk away from something so dangerous either.." the actor assured him, watching a look of shock form into one of understanding.
The room was quiet for a moment as Kasuka kept talking, filling the gap that was Izaya not knowing how to respond. "I thought about what you said. Ya know, about breathing.. How long have you been doing this job?" the actor wondered aloud, watching his lover's gaze as it went back up to meet his again.
"I started it the year I met you.. A little before I met Shizuo, I think." Kasuka's eyes widened. He processed that for a second, thinking that it was surely illegal for someone to work at such a young age before suddenly scolding himself. Obviously it being illegal wouldn't stop them, that's the whole point.. But there's no reason to drag someone so young into this kind of thing. Even if he hadn't been so young, you shouldn't trap a person into this.
But things made a little more sense to him now. Kasuka didn't enjoy Izaya's line of work, as much as he usually enjoyed watching him succeed at it, and that had blocked him from seeing a reason as to why Izaya was in this job at all. Sure, he hadn't been the most officially sane person when they met and he wasn't very normal either, but who was that he knew? That could qualify as almost anyone Kasuka held an affection for. But knowing that this was most likely, if not definetly, the only way of life that Izaya had known for such a long time.. Well, Kasuka could see how narrow his lover's options were now.
Now Kasuka was at a loss for words, Izaya running his fingers through the ravenett's hair to pass time. "You don't need to look so upset for me. I've been used to my job for a while now." Izaya tried to reassure him, just ending up making him frown more.
"This isn't a job you get used to.." the actor muttered, looking away as he rested his head on top of Izaya's chest, laying on top of him more loosely now. There was a pause before the actor sighed softly. I'm not being fair again. "But, um.. You are good at your job. I'm sure that block you hit will go away soon." Kasuka comforted, looking up at him with a small smile now. And while his boyfriend didn't look the most relaxed anymore, he did look grateful.
"Thanks, Kasu-kun.. I think you were right about my brain being fried, I feel better already." Izaya announced, perking up a bit at the end as he tried to bring the mood back up again. Kasuka went with it, wanting their first night back together to be nice and special again. He didn't know what had compelled him in the first place to bring something like that up on such a special moment, probably just his natural nature to try and talk it out with the other instead of letting it hang between them, but he was glad that the hardest moment was over for now. They could revisit it when Izaya had a little more sleep, a little less work to do, and when Kasuka had a bit more of his heart in it as well.
For now, all they had to do was hold each other close again and relax. That, and tell Namie that she really could go home for the night, seeing as Kasuka had no intention of leaving Izaya's side again.
Chapter 70!
I'm sorry if somewhere in the middle of this and after it seems a little rushed, I may be reading what I wrote wrong or it's my headache affecting me but I continued writing this after a day and nothing looks right to me... I know what I meant to do but sleep deprivation might be getting the best of me. And the California heat.. That's been coming back and my fan is now broken, leaving me with constant headaches and irritation.
I'll reread this tomorrow and see if it still doesn't look right. If it doesn't then when I put up the next chapter, at the beginning I'll let you know that I've fixed it. If there's a pause on the next chapter at all, that's most likely the reason also, sorry about this.
Quality over quantity, but also warning over inconsistency.
I hope you all liked this chapter! Favorite, follow and review to see more!
