[Izaya's POV]
Izaya grabbed his phone without a second glance as noon the next day rolled around and it began beeping, flipping it open to see that Shinnosu had made it safely to Nishitokyo and was already going out to see what he could find out about the gang in the area. Despite there being an outbreak in their activity no one had seemed to pin a name or color onto them yet, the group almost moving independently of it's own members and just having a connection of ransom style and method. So, Shin was doing him the extra favor of finding out their calling cards while he was there to drag around members.
He sent a quick message back to thank him and wish him well before continuing on with his own work, having moved on last night from his former assignment, finally getting it done with a great big smile might he add, and beginning to hum to himself since he was alone.
Namie had told him something or other about her brother being sick and that she had to go take care of him, which was probably a lie, at least about the needing care part. Izaya had met her brother only once but he could tell that a little cold wouldn't be able to keep him down, at least not for long and not too roughly that he couldn't push through a day or two alone in bed.
But he'd let her go, seeing as he only had easy assignments until the end of his week and a half was up and didn't need much of her assistance with Shinnosu offering his instead. So now he was alone, enjoying the silence for a moment as his typing stopped, examining a file he'd found on one of the men he was investigating for Shiki. Man this guy is boring.. Straight C's, no love life to speak of, crappy pictures of him and his friends wearing... Cosplay? Looks too weird, even for an anime..
The informant clicked away from the pictures with a small noise of disgust before continuing his song. Just when he was about to get up and make himself lunch there was a knock on his door, the ravenett hesitating before he smiled. They had both been let off of work another day because, while there to fix something, the handymen that had come over for maintenance on their stage had somehow managed to break a different part of it in the process. He trotted over to open the door and soon arms were wrapped tightly around his waist, squeezing the life out of him as Kasuka pushed them both further into the apartment again and closed the door with his foot, giving Izaya a kiss before loosening his hold finally. "You really finished it?" was the first thing the other ravenett asked, smiling as Izaya nodded.
"Yup, thanks to you and your knowledge of how I screw myself over." the informant huffed, laughing at himself lightly from the admission. He knew very well at this point that Kasuka kept a better on him than he did himself a lot of the time, just making him an even better boyfriend. Kasuka just shrugged before moving back in for another kiss.
"Sooo, I can stay here with you now? You won't throw me out if I talk while you read?" the actor prompted, eyes practically sparkling as he waited for the nod. Izaya almost wanted to tease him and say 'no, actually I like the peace and quiet' but he couldn't bring himself to do it when Kasuka was showing him one step down from puppy eyes. Izaya gave him a peck on the nose before pulling away from him.
"Of course you can, and no I won't. But I was just about to make lunch so.."
"No worries." Kasuka announced, grinning now as he picked up a bag from the floor. Did he bring that in with him? Must not have noticed. "I brought you ōtoro~" the actor announced, watching Izaya shake his head lightly before taking the bag from him.
"Hope you brought something for yourself too then, because this is all mine."
"Yeah right, we both know you're going to share."
The rest of their day consisted of Izaya sitting in Kasuka's lap, who wouldn't move from his desk chair, and them feeding each other sushi whenever they felt peckish; Izaya using these small chances to take a break from his work. Every once in a while Shinnosu would send him a text with some information, a picture of the area or of a person he found suspicious, along with some normal texts between them when things were seeming slow. At one point Izaya almost didn't notice that he'd started texting his friend a bit more than he was working and stared down at his cellphone as they were talking, finally a comment coming up that struck him as odd from the other after the blond said he was going to bed. [Stay safe, dude. Night!]
Izaya ignored it and wished him a good night back before putting away his phone, seeing as it had no purpose now. "Are you finally gonna work some more?" Kasuka asked casually underneath him, eyes half-closed as he had his head resting on the informant's shoulder. The ravenett just glanced back at him with a small grin.
"Why? Are you jealous that he had my attention?"
"Of course not."
"Mhm. Whatever makes you feel better."
