[Izaya's POV]

The informant and his best friend shut up instantly when there was a knock on the door, silent as they wondered who was there. The logical answer would be, of course, Kasuka, but they could still hope for it to be someone else. Literally anyone else..

He probably heard us..

Izaya stared at his door for a second while Shinnosu watched him, obviously waiting for his decision on what to do while Izaya tried to push away the building feeling of guilt. For the remaining time in his last set of assignments, he'd done everything in his power to try and make sure Kasuka knew he loved him just in case anything happened. Holding his hand at random times, giving him kisses, trying to cuddle with him at every turn and doing whatever he suggested - even if being fed by his boyfriend was still beyond embarrassing to him. He'd done it all to try and keep his boyfriend as happy as possible.

Sure, it hadn't been the most effective job and he could have been more smooth about it, but how was he supposed to think clearly with possible violation hanging over his head? Murder he could handle, he'd avoided it for years now with almost no slip-ups.. but rape?

Izaya swallowed his emotions just at the very thought. He couldn't stomach the idea of anyone even hugging him as tenderly as Kasuka did to him, let alone anything more than that without him wanting it, without him being cared for, without... Just anything that could make the very act humane in his eyes.

The informant had tried his best not to think about it during the last three days since he'd gotten another batch of assignments; assignments that, if he did them well and did them quickly, would keep him away from such a fate. And while he knew quite well that what he'd been doing by suddenly ignoring his lover wasn't right, he couldn't get over the numbing fear that came over when he thought that spending a little extra time away from an assignment or two would make them late. Therefore, making them deadly.

The ravenett took a deep breath as he looked up at Shin, deciding to answer it on his own instead of making the blond face his lover for him again. So, he stood up and went to the door, trying his best to calm his nerves as he opened it and came face to face with his boyfriend. Well, he doesn't look mad..

"Hey Kasu-kun.."

"Izaya." the other ravenett replied, his face and voice both completely vacant of emotion as he looked passed the informant. The informant was very sure he'd just felt a physical slap to the face. "Shin, can you give us a moment alone?" he continued, somehow acting even colder to the blond than himself.

When there was no answer behind him, Izaya glanced back and nodded to him, letting him know silently that he should really leave. And despite looking like every muscle in him was protesting it, the blond did as he was asked, trudging passed them and out the door with a worried expression on his face, whatever reaction he'd had after that being blocked by the actor shutting a door on him.

Izaya was silent as Kasuka turned back to him, still emotionless as neither of them said anything.

"Well? I know you know that I heard you talking, so just tell me what this is about." Kasuka finally announced, letting Izaya finally take a deep breath. The statement wasn't relaxing of course, he almost could say that Kasuka sounded mad at him, but at least he'd been the first to say something.

"I-I uh-" Izaya inwardly cursed himself at his sudden nervousness, not knowing where all the stuttering had come from. I shouldn't be like this, none of this is my fault. If Kasuka gets mad at me then he's the one with the problem, right? Right... The informant took no comfort in his own thoughts, not looking Kasuka in the eye as he tried to think of what to say. "Okay, well.. I have no idea how to say this without you getting mad." Izaya finally admitted, for once getting a reaction out of Kasuka.

The actor's eyes softened as he watched his boyfriend, taking a step forward and finally removing a hand from his pocket to rest it on Izaya's shoulder. "I won't get mad at you. I already know you're not cheating on me, so nothing you say can make me hate you." Kasuka said slowly, like he needed to make extra sure that Izaya couldn't read into his words more than what he was saying. Cheating? Where did cheating come from? Then it hit him. Oh yeah. I suddenly ignored him and he found me talking to Shin.. Makes sense then.

For some reason, now having the distraction and comfort of knowing Kasuka wouldn't accuse him of that made him relax just a little more. Izaya took another deep breath as he nodded, looking up and meeting his the actor's eyes.

"I.. My boss..." Izaya said slowly, still completely unsure of where to begin with what he wanted to say. How did a person suddenly come out and say that their employer had threatened them with rape anyway? He'd never heard of anyone having that on a confessions list before so he would be a first. A very awkward, stuttering first.

Kasuka just held his gaze, not looking accusing or upset with all of the waiting. Izaya took another second to sort out his thoughts before it came to him.

"I never told you how I met Shin, did I?" the informant blurted out, it being the first thing that came to mind and it being the only lee-way he could see into this certain conversation. At least, the only lee-way he could manage into this conversation.

For a second Izaya thought Kasuka would accuse him of changing the subject too, but that never came. The actor just gave him a shake of the head after thinking about it. "No, you never did." he muttered, finally giving him a response as well.

"Okay, well.. Don't get super mad or anything because uh, yeah, Shin's a great guy! But um, me and Shin met when.. Well, when my boss k-kinda ordered someone to.. to violate me..." the informant finally whispered out, talking the slowest he ever had as he searched hard for any kind of wording that would make their meeting sound better. Obviously it hadn't been better enough, from the look on Kasuka's face.

"What!?"

"It didn't happen, though! Just hear me out!" Izaya pleaded, holding his hands up in defense. The palms of his hands were currently red from when he'd been squeezing them so tightly, using the dull pain to distract from the weight of the conversation. He really needed to keep better track of when he was exerting his stress.. Back to the topic.

It took another moment before Kasuka was calm enough to listen to him again, hands holding tightly onto his boyfriend's shoulders as he demanded to know where Shinnosu lived, ready to give him a peace of his mind. After being calmed again, Kasuka was silent once more, waiting patiently for him to continue.

"S-So like I said, um... my boss ordered for that to happen, and Shinnosu happened to be the closest worker to us at the time, so he got picked to do it. But when he took me away from Shiki, m-my boss, all we did was talk, h-he didn't do anything! He didn't even look at me wrong, I swear!" Izaya explained, going much faster now that he had gotten past the initial situation. Kasuka gave him a nod to continue, the hand on his shoulder now forcing itself to loosen up.

"And? What does that have to do with now?" the other ravenett prompted, golden eyes baring into him for an answer. For a second Izaya got distracted by just how menacing Kasuka could be if he ever felt like it, the ravenett currently having the same presence his brother usually emitted when attacked (or worse, when Izaya was nearby). "Nothing's happened, right?"

Izaya found himself twiddling his thumbs again as he tried to keep eye contact. "No! Nothing like that has happened, I'm fine! J-Just.. Shin let me know what he heard back at headquarters. And apparently, i-if I hadn't gotten that assignment I'd been stuck on finished when I did then... Then, Shiki would have probably ordered-"

The informant was cut off by arms wrapping around him and pulling him closer, the ravenett falling silent as he let himself take in the affection. It was relaxing to know that Kasuka wasn't upset with him, showing him support instead... That nice feeling went away when the arms around him continued to tighten, almost to the point of being painful. "K-Kasu-kun, I can't-"

"That fucker..." Kasuka growled out beside him, the informant shutting his mouth again instantly at the tone. The arms had finished tightening, probably being painful to the both of them by now and only barely letting Izaya breath in the embrace. His actor continued. "That fucking bastard thinks he could do something like to people just.. just because he feels like it..."

Izaya could feel his boyfriend's heart pounding against his chest now, the close proximity allowing him to hear everything the other muttered to himself despite it being almost silent. "Kasuka-"

"Shut up."

..What? The informant blinked in utter shock as he was released from the tight hold, taking the chance to breath again as he was dragged over to the couch and sat down. He watched Kasuka pull out his phone and turn away from him like he hadn't just said something completely and utterly out of character.

Never once had he snapped at Izaya so quickly and never in a million years would he have ever told Izaya to shut up like he just did.

So, without knowing what else to do, Izaya sat where he was silently and continued to watch in wonder as whoever Kasuka was calling finally answered, not getting much of an explanation either as Kasuka began talking. "Shizuo? I need you.."
