[Kasuka's POV]

Shiki..

"Wait, okay.. run this by me again..."

That disgusting, evil...

"I need your help keeping Izaya safe. And yes, I'm serious."

Freak, good for nothing...

"Kasuka, I think you forgot who you're talking about. I'm the last person that would help him."

Psychotic, worthless bastard...

"I know exactly who I'm talking to and exactly who I'm talking about, and you're the only one that can help correctly."

Fucking ungrateful waste of space...

"Ototo... I'll be there in a minute, you can explain it to me then. Okay?"

Should just go to hell...

"Fine. Goodbye, aniki."

And rot there.

"Um.. Kasu-kun?"

Kasuka almost threw his phone at being prompted again before spinning around to see his boyfriend, quiet and confused, watching him from a distance. The sight dispelled some of his anger in an instant, it taking him a minute to remember why Izaya was all the way over there while he'd been trying to help before he realized he'd pretty casually told his lover to sit down and shut up. The guilt that came with that realization was painful.

The actor glanced at his phone before pocketing it and walking over to the other, once again letting himself be emotionless since he didn't want to scare the person he cared about most. "I.. I'm really sorry about that, Iza-chan. I didn't mean it.. When I told you shut up I was just really angry..." he admitted, getting a nod out of the other.

When no words of forgiveness came to him he wrapped his arms around the other again, this time making sure he didn't hug too tightly as he let his head drop onto Izaya's shoulder. "I really am sorry, I won't do it again..." he muttered into the man's shirt, now feeling his love hug back a bit. Kasuka sat down beside him on the couch to pull him closer, almost into his lap.

"It's okay."

"It's not.."

"Well, you said it to me and I say it's okay, so it is. I was just surprised, that's all." Izaya replied, glancing down at him and running his fingers through the actor's hair lightly as they were quiet again. "That said, never tell me to shut up again, okay?"

Kasuka nodded dutifully, already busy berating himself in silence for what he'd done as he gave his partner a small squeeze before releasing him again. He paused and glanced back at the ravenett with a smile when a hand held his tightly, entwining their fingers as they both tried to relax. A couple minutes in silence passed.

"I've never seen you get so angry before.."

"What he's threatening you with is unforgivable. Him already trying to do it once kinda.. Kinda made me a little crazy. Sorry.."

"I already forgive you, you don't need to keep apologizing about it.. One thing though. Do you really think Shizu-chan is gonna help us?"

"Definitely."

Izaya cast him a glance at that, obviously not being as convinced as the actor was. "We're both still talking about the same guy that made a living out of throwing trash cans at me, right? And stop signs? And mail boxes?"

"Yes, the very same guy. But I'm his brother and so far he's always done pretty much anything I've asked him to.. I even got him in a bunny suit one time for Easter just because I asked him to wear it. He didn't even question it until we got to the party." Kasuka chuckled, smiling lightly as he tried to lighten the mood up again. It was more or less effective, Izaya giving him a smile back before things were quiet again, the both of them leaning on each other as they waited for the debt collector to show up.

He finally did and announced his presence with a loud bang on the door, making Kasuka get up to answer it. "Come in, aniki."

"Thanks ototo. Now, what the hell are you asking from me again?" Shizuo replied, getting straight to the point like always. Kasuka gestured for him to go sit next to them before thinking of how to word his request, seeing as the first time - in all of his bluntness and silent anger - it hadn't gotten the most willing reaction. Then again, Kasuka was nothing if not blunt.

"I need you to be Izaya's bodyguard for a while." Kasuka announced, now getting a skeptic look from the both of them. Izaya was silent as he grimaced, glancing away from the blond currently in his home like he'd already reached the limit in hospitality he had towards him. Said blond was now staring at him as he mouthed the request to himself, sitting up again after a second.

"You're serious?" A nod. "You want me to spend hours of my time with him.. protecting him.." Another nod. "Has he hit you in the head at all since you've gotten together?"

Kasuka rolled his eyes a bit. "No, he hasn't aniki. We just need your help."

Shizuo still didn't look too sure. "And just how long would I be stuck with him if I agreed?"

"That's the thing... We have no idea." Kasuka glanced away as he replied.

"Seriously!?" Shizuo finally burst out, looking at him like he'd just discovered a new level of confusion. "You don't even know how long I would have to be near him!? Why am I even protecting him!? If he's done something wrong let him get some karma for it!" the blond continued to rant.

"Aniki." Kasuka snapped softly, getting his brother's attention again quickly from the tone. The blond was silent for a moment before leaning back in his seat again.

"Just when would I have to protect him? All the time or just when he goes out to reek havoc?"

The couple glanced at each other finally as they pondered it.

"You think he would attack you in your home?" the actor asked quietly, getting a shrug in response.

"Nah. His style would be more like inviting me for tea and then surprising me with it..."

"What about if you were outside? Even if you were working then."

"Maybe... It's hard to say on that one. With so many people in my work someone could try to kidnap me even when not ordered to... Course, that could also be said for when I'm inside too now that I think about it."

"True.."

They both looked back at the blond who had been glaring holes into the informant's head the whole time that they had been discussing the terms. Kasuka opened his mouth to speak just before Izaya cut him off.

"I don't think this is a good idea." the ravenett finally announced, a frown on his face as they both looked at him in surprise. Shizuo spoke up first.

"Finally, he fuckin' agrees with me.." Shizuo grumbled from where he was, sharing a glare with Izaya before Kasuka got their attention.

"I know you two don't get along but-"

"Kasuka, we hate each other!"

"You don't get along. But, we've seen that you can get along when I ask you to, so can you please just keep it up for a while until this goes away or until the problem is fixed?"

Izaya turned his head to gape at him.

"We don't even know if it can be fixed, Kasu-kun!"

"If it starts to take too long then we can find someone else to be your bodyguard, but for right now, aniki is the best option. Not even your boss would mess with you if he's here! Right?"

Kasuka watched them as Izaya and Shizuo shared a look, both of them thinking over if he would really be enough before Izaya leaned back on the couch once more, rubbing his temples. "I.. guess you're right, but..."

Shizuo interrupted him. "Fine, but I'll have to talk to my boss about it. If I'm stuck with him that means I can't go around doing my job unless I drag him with me." the blond negotiated, getting agreement from both other parties. Then he glanced between them for a second before continuing, the frown deepening on his features." And I'm only doin' it if I get to leave again whenever you come over to see him." he added, pointing his finger at Kasuka. "I can deal with him alone but there's no way in hell that I'm gonna stick around and watch you two be mushy together."

Kasuka nodded quickly and finally gave out a sigh of relief. "Understood. Thanks for doing this, aniki. Really."

The blond just nodded, moving his gaze from the ravenett to the quiet informant beside him. The room was quiet for a moment as they stared at each other, Izaya finally getting annoyed by it. "What?"

"I don't hear a 'thank you' outta your fuckin' mouth." Shizuo announced, continuing to glare at him in silence until Kasuka nudged his boyfriend's arm, getting a small sigh out of him before Izaya muttered a few words of gratitude. The brothers were both very sure that they heard some profanity thrown in with it but chose to ignore it for now, thinking that was the best they would get out of him for a while.

After another moment, Shizuo finally stood up. "So, my job as bodyguard would start when?"

"As soon as possible."

"Then I guess I need to find Tom now.. I'll cya later ototo."

"Alright. Cya later, aniki."

"Bye, freakshow."

"Flea!"

Chapter 80!

I know, it's not as exciting as I wanted it either, but it's reasonable considering what he would have had to do to convince Shizuo when continuously pissed off.
