Disclaimer- repeat after me, I don't own any of the Harry Potter characters but do own Clive, Broadhoof, Falkin and Wenny.
"What will you do, there's nowhere for you to go." The large man sneered as he backed away from his nephew.
"I don't care, anywhere is better than here." His nephew stated as he pointed his wand at his uncle before he stormed out the front door and the house he grew up in. Upon arriving near the park, he set his trunk down and settled down onto the bench across from it.
As he sat there, he thought over all the places with-in the wizarding world he could go to but discarded them the minute he thought of them. The sound of the bushes around the bench startled him out of his thoughts and he turned to see a big black dog emerge out of them to his right.
The dog stared at him, almost like it was judging him, before it came up to him and rested its head on his leg with a light whine, its eyes meeting his. "Where did you come from?" He wondered aloud as he checked the dog for a color and tags but didn't find either.
"I guess you can stay with me… once I find a place to stay that is." He sighed as he stood and grabbed his trunk, ready to leave to try to find a place to stay until he could get a place of his own, fed up with his aunt, uncle and cousin.
The dog perked his ears up and, after grabbing the boy's sleeve in his teeth, tugged him to follow him into the bushes. "Where are you taking me?" He murmured as he followed the dog. The dog let go of the sleeve to let out a bark before it vanished and a man stood in its place.
"Whoa, where did the dog go? Who are you?" The boy yelled in shock.
"Sorry if I startled you Harry but I had to speak with you before the minister got to you. I'm Sirius Black, your godfather, and no matter what you have heard I am not a murder. I was framed by Peter after he betrayed your parents, you must understand it was Peter who was their secret keeper not me.
He is hiding with a wizarding family as their pet rat, that's his Animagus form and I want the traitor to pay for what he did but first I need to get you to safety and know the perfect place, you just have to trust me on this and take my hand so I can take you there." Sirius pleaded, hoping Harry would trust him.
Harry stared up at Sirius, slightly hesitant on whether he should trust the unknown man before him. After a minute of staring into his eyes, Harry decided to put his trust in the man who claimed to be his godfather and put his hand in his.
Sirius smiled as a white owl landed on Harry's shoulder and they were soon standing outside a gate that lead to, from what Harry could see, to a large expanse of a yard. "Welcome to the Potter's very private island. As of now, only two humans know of it me and now you.
From this moment on, we will be living here. The only thing needed to open the gate is a bit of blood and luckily for you mine will work, your grandparents keyed me into the wards of the gate so I can open it, of course I'll have to key you in so you can get in without waiting for me."
He told this to Harry before he sliced open his palm and pressed it to the gate, which swung open for them. "Come on, I'll give you a tour of the grounds and home before we get settled in. I need to take care of a few things as well and will take care of them while I give you the tour." Sirius gestured for Harry to follow him.
As they crossed the lawn toward the house, Harry noticed several centaurs at work around them. "I thought centaurs were too proud to work for humans?" He remarked which made Sirius chuckle before he answered.
"The herds on Potter Island were rescued several generations past by one of your ancestors when they had been captured by a black market slavery ring and have been living here since, though some of them have left the island. In fact, some of those living in the forbidden forest of Hogwarts once lived here, Ronan is one of them."
Harry looked at Sirius in surprise at what he was told as one of the centaurs came over to them. "Sirius, so good to see you again though I must say you look as though you could use a proper cleaning and some food."
"Hello Clive, it's good to see you too. Peter framed me for James and Lily's deaths before faking his own death by my wand so I've spent the last thirteen years in Azkaban. That's not why I'm here though, I'd like to introduce you to someone. Clive, I'm sure you remember James and Lily's son Harry, Harry this is Clive. He is one of the lead stallions on Potter Island and Ronan's father."
"It's nice to meet you sir." Harry said as he held out his hand.
"Nice to meet you as well young Lord Potter or is it just Harry." Clive replied as he shook Harry's hand sparing Sirius a glance.
Sirius nodded as he spoke up, "Won't you join us as we head for the manor?"
"I would love to and maybe we could let young master Harry know some of what my herd and the other two herds do." Clive replied and Sirius agreed as he began to lead Harry towards the manor once more, Clive beside them.
"If you look to your left then right Harry then your notice Clive's herd as they work on the lawn, making sure the grass is nicely trimmed as well as the bushes. Another herd takes of the garden and greenhouse on the left and right sides of the manor while the last herd cares for the flowers and bushes in the back lawn."
"The other two herd leaders are Broadhoof and Falkin and their herds live on the east and south side of the island, my herd has claimed the north side while the west side is where all the herds gather for any sort of celebration."
Harry listened intently as Sirius and Clive told him about the centaur herds living on the island while they strolled up to the manors front doors. When they reached the steps, Clive bid them farewell and trotted back to help his herd on their work. "Come on Harry, I'll have one of the house elves give you a tour while I get cleaned up. You may pick out which room you want for yourself during the tour." Sirius stated as he opened the doors and called out a name. "Wenny." Immediately after he called out the name an elf popped into view.
"Master called?" She asked as she turned to look at them. A small gasp escaped her once she recognized who was standing in front of her. "Master Sirius, is it really you?" The elf asked who, Harry saw, wore a red blouse with a black skirt. The blouse bore the insignia for the house of Potter.
"Yes Wenny, it's me and this is Harry. I told him you would give him a tour of the manor while I cleaned up and let him pick out a room for himself. We will be living here from now on and I'll be teaching him everything he needs to know to make sure he is ready for life off Potter Island."
"Of course Master Sirius, if you'll follow me Master Harry I'll show you around your manor." Wenny obliged as she took Harry's hand. Harry allowed Wenny to guide him into the manor behind Sirius and she began her tour the minute they stepped through the doors.
"This is the greeting room Master Harry. To your left is the guest book that one of your ancestors invented and you can jot down the name of anyone you want to invite to visit or live here. I must warn you though there is a spell on the book so that anyone whose name you put in it will not be able to reveal our location.
If another person where to try to steal it from their mind then the mind of them, who tried to steal it, will revert to a child's and there is no cure for the spell. There's a second spell which will allow the one whose name you put down will instinctively know how to get here but won't be able to tell those whose name is not listed how to.
Now if you'll follow me I'll show you the first floor of the manor then take you to get settled in your room in the west wing, which is only for Potter's and Master Sirius, of course. The other three wings are just for guests so, if you wish, you may explore those later." Wenny paused for a breath as she walked out of the greeting room.
Already having a few names in mind, Harry quickly jotted them down and next to each name put either guest or living. As he finished the last name, a small pop sounded behind him and he turned to see him. "Hi Dobby, how would you like to start working for me as a Potter elf?"
In the doorway, Wenny watched silently as Dobby eagerly accepted Harry's proposal then popped away to get a layout of the manor before he started working. Once that was taken care of Harry joined Wenny in the entry way and let out a gasp at the sight of the staircase in front of him.
"The very first Potter wife insisted on the staircase being heart shaped so her husband had it built. To our left is the kitchen, breakfast room, dining room, ballroom and owlry. To our right is the house elves quarters, study, sitting room and library."
Harry and Wenny climbed the stairs once Wenny was done showing Harry the first floor. "If you'll notice there are four doors, each one leads to a different wing of the manor. The one on the left goes to the west wing, the two in front of us go to the north and south wings and the one on the right goes to the east wing. We will be going through the left door at the moment." Harry nodded as the door to the west wing opened to a hallway. "The first door in the west wing will be your sleeping room and private bathing room. You may decorate it in any way you like and one other thing, you can do as much magic here as you wish and the ministry won't know about it. Potter Island is unplottable therefore completely safe."
Harry stepped into the room and was shocked at the size of it. He turned around to ask Wenny a question only to find she was gone and sighed as he walked further into his new room. As he did, he noticed three extra doors, a set of double doors in front of him, and two more set of double doors to his right and left.
He crossed to the doors in front of him and opened them to discover a balcony overlooking a huge flower garden with a rather large working fountain at the center of it with walkways weaving through the rows of flowers and at the far edge, a gazebo ringed with benches.
Next to the gazebo was an old tree with a swing hanging from one of the branches, on the other side of the tree was a gate with tall wrought iron fence that lead to a path lined with shade trees and more flowers. He decided he would explore the grounds the next day Harry entered his room and went over to the doors to his right to find a huge walk in closet.
He walked into it to find a round sitting cushioned sitting bench in the middle of it with racks on either side as well as places for ties, shoes, hats, scarves gloves and even jewelry. The carpet was a deep green color and very plush.
As he neared the exit, he found his trunk, now empty, set on the floor under where the few wizard cloaks he owned hung on the rack.
After he closed the closet doors, Harry crossed over to the last set of doors and pulled them open to find the bathroom, or bathing room as Wenny put it. As he entered, he saw a counter with two sinks in it, a wall length mirror hung above the sinks.
To his left was a huge bathtub with more than one faucet, near the tub was a towel rack with the thickest towels Harry had ever seen hung on it. Next to the towel rack was a cupboard that, Harry assumed, more towels as well as rags filled it to wash up.
To his right was a shower that appeared to be the size of a small room, next to the entrance of the shower was another towel rack with more towels hung on it and on either side of the sink were two toilets.
A third rack with smaller hand towels hung on it was opposite the sinks along with a hamper for dirty clothes. While the floor was black marble, the walls were a grey color. Harry left the bathroom, closing the doors behind him and too another look around his bedroom.
He noted that the carpet was dark red and as plush as the carpet in the closet while the walls were brown with grey baseboards and black paint covered the ceiling. The bed positioned between the closet and balcony doors was a king sized four-poster with a thick grey and red comforter on it. Harry pulled back the comforter to find green sheets and black covered pillows under it.
The wall opposite the bed held a large fireplace with a mantle above it. On the mantle were pictures of Harry's parents, James and Lily, as well as a few of his friends, Ron, Hermione, Neville, Luna and Ginny. There were also one or two pictures of James, Lily, Sirius and Remus together.
Painted by each door was an animal, a doe by the balcony doors, a stag by the entrance, a wolf by the closet and a dog by the bathroom. Harry kicked off his shoes before he crawled onto the bed and was asleep in seconds, worn out by all that the changes he just went through.
The staircase in Potter manor is based off an actual staircase. If any of you have been to the mansions at New Port, particularly the RoseCliff mansion, then you'll know the staircase I described. As for the color scheme in Harry's room well there is a reason I did it that way, let's see if you can figure it out.
