[Izaya's POV]
"No, you're still doing it wrong! You don't look scary enough." the informant instructed, getting a sigh out of his boyfriend and co-star.
"I don't know how to look scary." Kasuka protested where he sat, glaring at the script in front of him. One of the turning points for their show had come again and despite what Izaya and Kasuka had expected, Kasuka's character was going to be portrayed as a bad guy for a while, maybe for the rest of the season. And so, with the new demeanor, came a slightly new spectrum of attitudes that his boyfriend hadn't worked in depth with yet.
Apparently most of the characters that Kasuka usually played were happy go lucky, childish, snarky or even posh, but none of them evil in a villainous sense. So, it was once again Izaya's job to try and help him out with facial expressions.
"Just.. I dunno, glare harder." the informant commanded, hearing another groan from the other before he tried to follow his instructions. Izaya bit his lip when the other started trying too hard. "Here, just relax and lemme try to do it for you." he muttered, scooting closer to try and move adjust Kasuka's face on his own using his hands.
"Better.. Kinda." the ravenett sighed, running a hand through his hair as the two gave up for now, moving onto the next scene. "Maybe the director will be able to help you more."
Before his boyfriend could reply, there was a bang on the door, making them both jump. The actors glanced at each other before Izaya finally spoke up, remembering that it was his room. "Come in." he called, watching as someone unexpected popped in. Dong-Yul.
"Um, hey, hi! Can I hide in here for a few minutes?" the tech manager asked, laughing nervously as he shut the door behind him. Kasuka frowned beside him and Izaya just raised a brow.
"What are you hiding from?"
"That would be my cousin.. She's kinda insane and she came here without telling me so that she could try and meet you. By the way, she's also looking for you, which is why I'm hiding here." Dong-Yul explained quickly, just getting a blank stare from the both of them.
"I don't care about your family problems. And why is she looking for me?" the informant asked, getting a guilty smile from the other before he peaked out the door, probably trying to spot where his family member had ran to.
"Okay, well.. She was kinda the only person I told about having a crush on you, and that was way before all of our um.. disagreements happened." the Korean began, still not getting a good reception. He continued anyway. "So, I told her about liking you and when she asked who you were I gave her your stage name so she got really excited because she likes the show and you're her favorite character - surprise, surprise - but then she went on this tangent about us getting married and me and her getting famous or something because you're on TV and then she kept babbling some other stuff and I was too weirded out about talking about you to her after that that I just kinda, maybe forgot to tell her that you and I are not a thing, and will now definetly never ever be a thing." he finished with a sigh, looking like he needed to sit down. During the whole thing Izaya was very sure the other had forgotten to breath.
Kasuka and Izaya shared a glance with each other, wondering if they should just throw him out to the 'wolf' or not. The actor finally spoke up. "So, if she's looking for Kobayashi because she thinks you two are together, then can't you both just say you don't like each other? You only told her it was a crush, right?"
"Yeah, I did. But my cousin has this thing with selective hearing, and like I said, she's kinda insane. If we tell her that we don't like each other then she'll just blow it off and go 'Oh you're just shy~ Dont be afraid, have a million adorable babies!'" Dong-Yul replied, covering his face with a groan as he leaned against the door. Kasuka just made a sound of mock understanding as Izaya leaned back in his seat, frowning as he stared at their unwelcome guest. It almost sounds like my sisters and Erika combined.. That's a scary thought. he thought to himself, frowning deeper before letting out a sigh.
"I guess you can stay for a couple minutes, but stay over there and shut up. We're still busy." Izaya ordered, getting a nod out of the Korean as he slid down the door, sitting next to it as he listened through it for his cousin. The informant tried to focus on their previous task again as he turned, glancing at his boyfriend. His eyes widened. "That! That's the face!"
"Wait, this is my evil face?" Kasuka asked, letting go of the glare he'd been giving the other man for a few moments now.
"Yes! Now do it again, we need to practice. You can do it again, right?" Izaya watched as Kasuka glanced behind him, grimacing at the Korean still in the room.
"Yeah, I can do it.."
Chapter 84!
A bit more comedy thrown in here before he get back to the plot.
Dong-Yul is back, though he's not accidently evil anymore, the duo is back to recording which I've been neglecting to write further on lately (sorry), and there's still Shiki lurking in our favorite couple's shadow. Quite a few routes I could take with this one..
I'm gonna continue on from here as planned (involving Dong a little more, along with his cousin for comedic effect) but issues with Shiki could take quite a while to be fixed and a lot of things could happen to add to those problems, so if you guys think of anything that Izaya could run into to put him under a bit more stress (new gangs, people, etc) then tell me. I'm always dying for more input!
The same goes for if you think of something to stress Kasuka out; as we've seen, their relationship turmoil is always the most interesting to read about.
So review away!
I hope you all liked this chapter! Favorite, follow and review to see more!
PS. Good to have you back in good health, Beato ^^
