[Kasuka's POV]

Kasuka knocked on his boyfriend's door barely half an hour after he was let out of work, determined to see if the other was okay.

At some point during the time Kasuka had been busy talking with Min-Seo, Dong-Yul had came back into the other's dressing room with a signature and an apology, looking half scared for his life and just generally upset. And Kasuka had, of course, no problems with letting him take his cousin away and probably take her home while he sat and waited for his lover to come back.

And he did wait patiently for a while, for half an hour even, but he finally couldn't stand it and went off to find out what happened.

After a wild goose chase of him asking people where his co-star had gone, being led first to the cafeteria then to the stage area then back to the dressing room and finally to the front of their lot, he figured out that Izaya wasn't still at work. So, after a few unanswered calls and texts, he finally got a message from Izaya saying that he was sorry for leaving but didn't feel well. Bullshit.

Dong-Yul, I swear you are going to be the first person I've ever truly hated. Kasuka thought to himself, knocking again to see if Izaya was just slow or hadn't heard him before taking out his own spare key. The actor got inside and looked around, catching sight of the informant at his desk sound asleep. The small panic that had been building in him when he didn't know where the other was left him and he went over, glancing at the still open computer in front of his boyfriend before closing it halfway and crouching down next to Izaya.

He nudged the informant's arm, calling his name until the ravenett opened his eyes a bit. "Izaya, it's time to get up. You shouldn't sleep at your desk like this." he scolded, watching with a small smile as Izaya sat himself up. The ravenett rubbed his eyes with the back of his hands, looking up again when Kasuka righted himself and pressed a kiss to his forehead.

"What're you doin' here?" Izaya asked as he continued to try and wake up, leaning back in his chair now. Kasuka noticed how tired he still looked and bent down to scoop him up despite the protests he got in return. The ravenett took his boyfriend to the couch and laid down with him, holding him tightly as he replied.

"I could ask you the same question. What made you leave so suddenly?" he asked, letting Izaya lay his head down on his chest to get comfortable. The informant paused for a few moments before sighing.

"Dong-Yul just irritated me, we didn't fight but I told him off kinda.." Izaya slowly admitted, the actor nudging him along to get the other to tell him what happened. After getting a summary of what Izaya had told him, Kasuka let out a small sigh before he smiled. Yul, you're a fucking idiot.

"Well, you were right. If you don't wanna talk to someone you don't have to." the actor agreed, letting a pause go between them as Izaya drifted into being half asleep again from their position. He nudged him lightly after glancing at the informant's laptop on his desk. "So, I found you at your desk.. How much work do you still have to do?" he finally asked, trying to push away the worry that could come with his answer.

Ever since Izaya told him about what Shiki had done - well, tried to do - he hadn't like the thought of Izaya being alone even for a second. And sure, he would give him plenty of space if asked to but so far Izaya had been under a pretty good watch. For the past couple days Kasuka had slept over at Izaya's house, Shizuo and Namie had been with him for a whole day and, before at least, they had been at work together. Except for the past few hours there hadn't even been a chance of someone snatching his boyfriend away. And though that made him feel better, like nothing could ever take Izaya away to hurt him, he knew that if the other still didn't get his work done then all of this could be for nothing.

They couldn't go with him to headquarters if he was called in, that's suicide to Izaya and whoever he'd brought with him. Izaya wouldn't be able to just ignore him either because, hello, he's his boss and the one that calls all the shots; also, he's probably the one that decides if every gang in the whole fucking city goes after one guy or not. If Izaya stopped doing his work, didn't make them money or reputation and blatantly, even slightly, disobeyed him then he could easily fire the ravenett. And if Kasuka had learned anything from various news, movies, autobiographies and Izaya's own descriptions of his former workplace, then he knew that getting fired from his line of work was almost work than dying. Even though, ultimately, if you get fired then you'll die much quicker anyways.

If Shiki wanted Izaya dead then all he would have to do is say the word, and no matter how many Shizuos there were nearby to protect them, there was only so much anyone could do when put up against something like that.

The ravenett sighed against Kasuka's shirt and pressed closer to him, frowning lightly. "Way too much.. But I'm done with the first assignment now, I just have to submit the information and then I have plenty of time to finish the rest so... It should be fine."

Kasuka nodded lightly though it didn't make him feel much better. "Yeah, it definetly will be.. But, if you need any help then I'm sure Shinnosu will volunteer again! I didn't scare him too bad before when I interrupted you guys, right?" the actor asked, sounding optimistic for both their sake. Izaya glanced up at him with a tired smile now.

"No, not too bad. I've emailed him since then so he's not too worried. And he's already offered to help with a couple things though it probably won't do much. He's not the most tech savvy and definetly not the best at talking with people.." the ravenett chuckled, closing his eyes as he relaxed against Kasuka again. The Heiwajima hummed lightly and stared off into space as he contemplated what could help his boyfriend the most.

"Well.. I could try to-"

"No."

Kasuka paused, glancing down at Izaya again to see his eyes open, the informant almost glaring at him as the two met eyes. "What? I didn't even suggest anything yet."

"I don't want you getting any more involved with my work than you are. You just talking to me, even worse that you're dating me, has already nearly got you killed.. I don't want you to ask a wrong question somewhere and get held hostage or drugged or.. I dunno, shipped to Singapore or somewhere like that just because you wanted to help me out." Izaya explained, still staring him down. Kasuka was never very easily threatened, especially not by his own lover, so he stayed strong and held his gaze.

"Really, someone could ship me to Singapore for dating the most amazing guy on the planet?" Kasuka mused, getting a glare from the other before he was jabbed in the side like usual. Kasuka flinched with a groan as Izaya dropped his head, cuddling close to him again. The informant took a deep breath, sounding like he would be off to sleep again soon.

"I'm serious, Kasu-kun. I don't want you to get hurt because of me. I would never be able to live with myself.."

"And I don't want to sit here and do nothing when I could try to help. I don't want Shiki anywhere near you, especially within his reasons."

They held each other a little tighter than before. "Sorry Kasu-kun, I can't let you help me. I'll get some more help from Shinnosu and a couple others that owe me a favor if I need it, but I can handle these assignments on my own."

Kasuka sighed lightly before rolling to be slightly on top of his lover, protecting him as the other got closer to sleep. "Alright, I won't get involved... But if anything happens, if your boss says he wants to talk about something, needs you to help with something in person, let me know first. If anything does happen, I don't just want you to disappear on me one day..." he whispered.

"Agreed." was all Izaya muttered before he fell asleep, Kasuka not letting him go even when he finally took him to his bed instead of the couch, curling up with him again and falling asleep as well.
